    Asus To Launch New Zenfone In India On 17th October

    Asus, the Taiwanese electronic giant has sent out invites for the new Zenfone launch in India. Asus has been banking on their Zenfone series of phone for a while and have been pushing regular updates for the Zen UI as well. April 2018 saw the launch of the last Zenfone which was the Max Pro M1. It was well received in India and with this launch Asus wishes to further strengthen their position in the market. Rumour is rife that the new phone will be a second version of the M1 and will go by the name Zenfone Max Pro M2. According to the invite the event is in Delhi and will start at 12:30 PM. There is no information regarding a live stream of the event.

    Zenfone Pro M1 Features

    The Asus Zenfone Pro M1 features an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and 6 GB RAM. It also has 64 GB ROM which is expandable upto 2 TB. The phone features a 16MP and 5MP  camera at the back and a 16MP front camera. The 5000 mAh Battery was also a steal for Indian customers. It is yet to be seen what changes Asus brings to the next generation of this phone and if it sees any improvement with the processor and cameras as well.

    The Asus Zenfone Max M2 and the Zenfone Max Pro M2 has been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia a week back, and carry the model numbers ZB633KL and ZB631KL respectively. Both the phones run on Android Oreo out of the box according to reports.  This is a little disappointing as the devices do not run the latest Android 9 Pie.

    Asus Confirms Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for Zenfone, Padfone

    Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has joined the list of manufacturers officially confirming the Lollipop update for its smartphones. The company has officially announced the Android 5.0 update for the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 smartphones. Also receiving the update would be the Padfone S and Padfone Infinity (A86) devices. Meanwhile, the LTE version of the Zenfone 5 will also receive the update.

    However, the updates will take a long time to arrive. According to Asus, the update will come to Zenfones in April 2015, which makes it highly possible that Asus is working on the next version of the Zen UI for Android.

    Asus now joins the likes of Motorola, Sony and HTC with this announcement, who have also confirmed the update for a select few devices. Being the Nexus manufacturer, Motorola was the first to confirm the update, followed by Sony announcing the update for the entire Xperia Z series.

    Asus Stocks Up 20,000 ZenFone Units on Flipkart

    Asus has become a darling of the Indian market since its release in India. It along with Xiaomi made it the summer for Chinese smartphone makers. Their high-spec-low-price business model is tailor-made for the Indian market.

    The Asus Zenphone series have seen shortage of supply and they are either out of stock or available in limited numbers. Asus wants to correct that and they are bringing in a 20,000 phone inventory to Flipkart. Though the number of individual phone models haven’t been specified, it is a good big number of devices.

    Most importantly today will become a Taiwan on China battle here as Xiaomi too is bringing 20,000 devices for a flash sale today the 19th of August. It will be fun to see if Asus is capable of stealing Xiaomi’s customers. The folks who are disappointed by the Xiaomi sale can see the Asus line-up as a good alternative.

    The Asus Zenphones are powered by Intel Atom processors and come in 4, 5 and 6-inch display variants. The phones also come in multiple color variants and have a youth friendly design. The Zenphone 6 has a classy look which will be appreciated by corporate users too.

    The Zenphones are dual SIM capable and can be used easily with gloved hands. These phones also run on Asus’s own UI called the ZenUI which has been appreciated for its unique design and customizability features.

    Asus’s business model is more appreciable than that of Xiaomi. The company seems like it is interested in staying in the market for a long time. They have also said that it wants to sell its phone in the offline market thereby making there long term plan in India apparent. By bringing in products in accordance with the demand in the market, the company gets to retain as well bring in new customers. The Zenphone 4, 5 and 6  are priced at Rs. 5,999, Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 16,999 respectively.
