Air Nano By CrazyBaby Full Review

    [section label=”Video”]

Ever since Apple got rid of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, the interest in Bluetooth earbuds has increased a lot. To counter the lack of the headphone jack, Apple launched the AirPods, a pair of truly wireless earbuds which have been well-received. Many companies followed that up by launching their own take on truly wireless earbuds. Air Nano By CrazyBaby is truly wireless earbuds that are priced at US$ 99 (Rs 6700 approx.) and are available in a bunch of different colours.

We have had the Air Nano By CrazyBaby for about two months. The earbuds are comfortable and come with a carrying/charging case of the same colour as the earbuds. With 5 minutes of charge, the case can provide up to 90 minutes of battery life for the earbuds which can be useful during crunch times. After a full charge, the earbuds provide up to 3 hours of music playback or 4 hours of talk time.

Unlike a majority of wireless earbuds, the setup process for Air Nano is very simple. You don’t have to pair the two earbuds with each other, which is a case for many earbuds in the market. The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.0 and a user has to simply turn them on and pair them with their smartphone. iPhone users will be able to see the battery life of the earbuds in the notification bar on top.

  • OnePlus To Launch Wireless Earphones Along With The OnePlus 6

OnePlus To Launch Wireless Earphones Along With The OnePlus 6

The launch of the OnePlus 6 is just around the corner. The company will launch the next flagship smartphone some time in April. Now, a newly leaked Bluetooth certification page confirms that the company will also launch the OnePlus Bullet Wireless Earphones. OnePlus has launched the Silver Bullet V1 and V2 along with the launch of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5. And now, the company is going the wireless way, by launching its first ever in-house wireless earphones. It is worth noting that the company has confirmed the OnePlus 6 will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack.

    OnePlus Bullet Wireless Earphones

The listing states that the OnePlus Bullet Wireless Earphones will go by the model number BT31B. These earphones have a custom Qualcomm chipset with Bluetooth V4.1. Which suggests that the earphones might have an additional functionality similar to the Apple AirPods. As of now, there is no information on the pricing or the launch date of the accessory. However, these earphones might launch in India along with the OnePlus 6.

Considering the company’s pricing philosophy, these earphones are likely to be a budget pair of earphones, which are expected to be priced less than Rs 5,000. In fact, the OnePlus Silver Bullet Earphones V2 currently retail in India for a price of Rs 1,199. The Bullet Earphones V2 has a metal head with a 1.2-meter long cable. Additionally, these weigh in at 14 grams and also have an in-line microphone.

  • Huawei Freebuds Look A Lot Like Apple AirPods And Cost 159 Euros

Huawei Freebuds Look A Lot Like Apple AirPods And Cost 159 Euros

On the 27th of March, Huawei launched the P20 Pro, P20 and the Mate RS Porsche Design. While the P20 Pro and Mate RS sport a triple-camera setup, the P20 has impressive specs as well. But, the company also announced a new accessory that looks curiously similar to an Apple product. Huawei has launched the Freebuds, a pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds at a price of EUR 159.

Interestingly, the new Freebuds look very similar to the Apple AirPods that retail for US$ 159 in the US. Similar to the AirPods, the Freebuds also retail with a carrying/charging case. However, the Freebuds are available in Black and White colour options. However, the company has deviated from Apple when it comes to the implementation of the carrying case. Unlike the vertical orientation of the AirPods, the Freebuds lay horizontally in the tiny charging case.

The Freebuds one-up the AirPods in the battery department. Huawei claims the earbuds have a battery life of up to 10 hours, while the AirPods only last 5 hours on a single charge. The Freebuds will work nicely with the Huawei P20 series, however, it’ll be interesting to see the ease of usability of the earbuds when compared with the AirPods.

The AirPods have the W1 chip, which means they can be instantly paired with an Apple device by just flipping open the charging case. Unlike regular Bluetooth earbuds, there isn’t painstakingly long pairing process. Whether the Freebuds will have features, only time and testing will tell.

Huawei has launchd an updated pair of Active Noise Canceling Earphones 3. The third sound accessory is a new DAC Headphone Amplifier.

  • Apple AirPods Sales Expected To Double In 2018

Apple AirPods Sales Expected To Double In 2018

Multiple reports have claimed that the Apple AirPods dominate the truly wireless earbuds segment in the US. A new report from KGI Securities has claimed that AirPods will continue to experience an exponential growth. In 2018, Kuo believes that Apple will sell upwards of 28 million units, a figure which would effectively double AirPods sales year over year.

Apple doesn’t break out individualised sales figures for specific accessories, but estimates for 2017 sales are somewhere in the 13-14 million range.

We believe demand for AirPods has been strong, and note that the shipping time of the product on Apple’s official shopping website has shortened to 1-3 days, mainly thanks to an improved assembly process and increased capacity from Luxshare as the new assembler […]

We expect AirPods to remain one of the most popular Apple accessories in 2018, with shipments likely to rise 100% YoY to 26-28mn units next year.

Apple’s decision to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus last year was met with widespread scepticism as majority of smartphone users still use wired headphones and headphone makers had not yet entered the realm of lightning post or USB C headphones.

The AirPods was Apple’s solution to that and an indication that Apple is well and truly on its way to make a port-less iPhone. The ease of connecting the AirPods to your Apple devices proved decisive in its record sales in the past year, even though there are better sounding headphones at a cheaper price available in the market.

Following Apple’s footsteps, a lot of big companies like Samsung and recently, Sony released their versions of the truly wireless earbuds and prolific headphone makers like B&O have also entered the premium earbuds market.

A report by Gartner revealed that the sales of truly wireless earbuds will hit the 150 million sales mark in 2017.

  • Bluetooth Pairing To Be Faster On Android Phones After Future Update

Bluetooth Pairing To Be Faster On Android Phones After Future Update

Google is trying hard to reduce the time it takes to pair bluetooth devices with Android phones. A new update is going to make pairing some Bluetooth devices much easier. Starting with Google Play Services 11.7 on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and higher, users will be able to take advantage of the new Fast Pair feature. Fast Pair will make the process of pairing Bluetooth devices easier by scanning for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) broadcasts and prompting you to pair with them.

Once Fast Pair is enabled, Android will scan for BLE broadcasts close to the user’s device and discovers a Fast Pair packet. That packet is then in turn sent to Google’s servers to retrieve the device’s product name, image, and companion app. After that information is returned, a high-priority notification shows up on the user’s device and asks them to “tap to pair” to the device. That notification will display the product name and image that Google’s server returned.

Once the user taps on the notification, standard Bluetooth connection is established and the device is connected to the phone. After a successful connection, a second notification will appear with a link to download a companion app if the Bluetooth device has one.

It is worth noting that barely any pair of bluetooth headphones support Fast Pair now. As of now, only Google Pixelbuds and Libratone Q Adapt headphones support this upcoming feature. The soon to be launched Plantronics Voyager 8200 series wireless headphones will also support the feature too. Google is open to supporting more devices in the future and if you are a Bluetooth device manufacturer, you can contact Google here.
