  • LeEco Wants to Beat Apple iPhone 7 Pro to the Dual Camera

LeEco Wants to Beat Apple iPhone 7 Pro to the Dual Camera

LeEco has been taking initiative against Apple, first be removing the headphone jack from the Le 2 and Le Max 2 phones, and now it appears they are attempting to launch a phone with a dual camera module, and will beat Apple to market with it.

A new leaked Lex720 device chassis has been spotted sporting a dual camera setup. While the idea of putting dual lenses goes many years back, including when HTC did it with their HTC One M8, no real advantageous outcome has come from putting two cameras in a phone till date.

The leak also showcases an iPhone-like Design and iPhone 7 Leaks like antenna bands. Along with a rear fingerprint scanner which is typical of LeEco.

Rumours also point that the device will feature a Snapdragon 821 and will launch end August 2016.

  • iPhone 7 Rumoured to Sport Dual-Camera Set-Up

    iPhone 7 Rumoured to Sport Dual-Camera Set-Up

In today’s update about the iPhone 7, we have speculations from Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple analyst from KGI. In the latest KGI memo, Kuo further strengthens the rumours of a dual-camera set-up for the iPhone 7 Plus.

The note was released on Wednesday in which Kuo talks about Apple maintaining its trend of coming out with two iPhone models in 2016 as well. We expect to see iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the September event this year.

The iPhone 7 would be a 4.7-inch model with the regular iSight camera built on LinX imaging technology. The iPhone 7 Plus, however, with its 5.5 inch screen will have two variants – one with a single camera, while the other would feature a dual-camera design. This design would include two sensors, both marked at 12 MP each. While Optical Image Stabilisation is a feature iPhone users are already used to, optical zoom is something we can look forward to in the new device, along with a whole new set of features like bokeh effects and variable focus this design change is likely to bring.iPhone 7 ConceptKuo further speculates that all iPhone 7 Plus models will not have the new dual-camera set-up. Only 25%-35% of shipped models will sport the new feature. Apple is gearing up for some complicated production that involves high costs with two variants of just the iPhone 7 Plus. It would be interesting to see how it pans out for the Cupertino-based company.

The Redditor also revealed some specs as well. The device will sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, powered by the new Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3 GB of RAM and an 8 MP front. Other specs include a full metal body, SIM and MicroSD slot, heart rate sensor that’s under the camera module, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, a USB Type-C port, bottom firing speaker and an IR blaster on top.

No word yet on when LG plans to launch the device. However, as Samsung has claimed exclusivity to the Snapdragon 820 chipset for the first three months, which likely means that any other device sporting the same will be launched only after March.
