As per these images, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is almost similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. The only difference that we could make out is the placement of the fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S8 was criticised for the fingerprint scanner placement. However, with the Galaxy S9, the company appears to have made amends.

As per the report, we might also see narrower bezels on Galaxy S9. However, it will be very difficult to make out the difference until and unless they are kept next to each other. The Samsung Galaxy S9’s major upgrade would be in terms of the camera. As per the leaks, the Galaxy S9 is speculated to feature a 12 MP camera with a variable aperture from f/1.5 to f/2.4.

    Conclusion:

The overall form factor almost remains identical to that of the Galaxy S8. However, the company has made all the necessary changes internally. A faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage also scores impressive results on various benchmarking websites. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are also expected to be some of the fastest Android devices on the market.

The bigger version of the Galaxy S9 is called as Galaxy S9+, which offers a slightly bigger display with a dual camera setup on the back. As expected, the Galaxy S9+ will have 6GB of RAM with a much bigger battery to cater additional pixels.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Leaked In Official AR Renders

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at MWC 2018. Both smartphones have been heavily leaked and there is barely anything left that can surprise us. However, this morning a unique kind of leak showcased the Galaxy S9 based on AR technology.

Samsung has released an app called “unpack” for the MWC attendees, which comes with a QR code for the entry to the general public, who like to watch the live streaming of the event. The QR code takes the attendees to an app, which comes packed with hints and teasers regarding the launch event.

An XDA Developers member has successfully decompiled the APK. The APK contained a 3D render of the Samsung Galaxy S9. Anyone can access the 3D model just by scanning the press event, but, the app was modified to see a 360 model of the phone in full glory.

The 3D model matches with the renders of the smartphone, but, no additional details have been obtained from these renders.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to have a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, with narrow bezels. According to a leak, the device will be offered in two storage options, 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 4GB RAM/128GB storage.

The camera on the Galaxy S9 will have a noticeable upgrade. A leak reveals that the device would have a 12 MP camera with a variable aperture from F/1.5 to F/2.4. The mobile is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Experience UI on the top.

Like its predecessors, the Galaxy S9 will have an IP68 water and dust resistance certification. The smartphone is expected to include a killer feature called “smart scan”, which uses both iris scanner and facial recognition for more accurate authenticate system. However, this technology uses Samsung API, this feature won’t be utilised for banking.

Unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, which is manufactured on the 7nm process, the Exynos 9810 chipset has been manufactured on the 10nm process. This is the same as the Exynos 8895 chipset which powered the 2017 Samsung flagship smartphone lineup.

Samsung says that the Exynos 9810 processor has “3rd-generation custom CPU cores, upgraded GPU, and gigabit LTE modem with industry-first 6CA support.” Earlier this year, Samsung had introduced the 6CA modem and had promised that the 6CA modem would be included into its next generation mobile processing unit. Hence, as it promised the Exynos 9810 features the new and improved 6CA modem.

At the time of unveiling of the 6CA modem, Samsung had said:

Mobile processor adopting the new Cat.18 6CA-supported LTE modem technology is expected to be in mass production by the end of this year.

The announcement of the Exynos 9810 chipset falls perfectly inline with the above statement.
