HTC Zeta with 2.5 GHz Quad Core leaked and rendered, with ICS

Information to HTC’s next super smartphone has been leaked and according to sources close to Engadget the device will look as pictured in the image. The rumor is still a rumor and there is no confirmation to what the final device may be. Rumored specs include 2.5GHz APQ8064 CPU along with 1GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch 720p HD display. The device will come with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed with Sense UI (version 4.0 ) and have 32GB of internal storage space, an 1,830mAh battery, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video capture and a 1.3MP front-facing cam.

Zeta is said to measure at 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8mm (4.32 x 2.4 x 0.39 inches) and weigh 5.15 ounces (146g). Super-power-phone it is! Oh Zeta – Zeta, Oh HTC – HTC why do you tease us?

HTC Announces Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades for their devices.

HTC has announced the first wave of upgrades for their devices in a statement made on Facebook. Confirming that the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE will definitely get the upgrade, but leaving out majors from the announcement including Incredible S and Desire S. This announcement was made for the US division, but is applicable to worldwide devices.

HTC knows how excited our fans are to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, so we’re thrilled today to announce the first wave of HTC phones that will receive upgrades: We can confirm the brand new HTC Vivid is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, Ice Cream Sandwich is coming in early 2012 to a variety of devices including the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation XE, as well as the HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and HTC Amaze 4G through close integration with our carrier partners. HTC Launches the Rezound expects worldwide by end 2011

HTC has launched the Rezound for the Verizon networks in the US. Formerly known as the HTC Vigor, the device features a 4.3-inch 720p display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, with 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage / 16GB on microSD card, 1,620mAh battery, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.

The handset will come Ice Cream Sandwich-ready, but currently has Sense 3.5 skinned on top of Gingerbread 2.3.4. The device also has a 8 megapixel camera with f/2.2 sensor (capable of 1080p video capture). The box will also contain a pair of custom Beats Headphones like the one you see in the images below.

The device is expected to hit India by December after certain delays, but the Nov 2nd week launch is still possible. We will update you when we have more.

HTC Releases Profit Reports for Quarter 3 profit up 68 percent
HTC has issued its Q3 results and their profits are up by 68%. The total net income rose to $624.6 million this quarter

Revenue rose by 79 percent on the year toaround $4.54 billion

The reasons cited by HTC for this growth are :

HTC REPORTS 3Q 2011 RESULTS

QUARTERLY REVENUES, NET PROFITS AND EPS ALL HIT NEW HIGHS

Taoyuan, Taiwan, R.O.C. October 31, 2011 – HTC Corporation (“HTC”, or the “Company”, TWSE: 2498), a global leader in smartphone innovation and design, today announced consolidated results of the Company and its subsidiaries for the third quarter of 2011.

3Q Highlights
After-tax profit was NT$18.68bn, up 68% year-on-year; EPS was NT$22.07

Total revenues grew for the sixth consecutive quarter since 1Q 2010 and reached

NT$135.82bn, up 79% year-on-year

Handset shipments totalled 13.2mn units, up 93% year-on-year

ASP was US$344, up 0.6% year-on-year

Gross profit margin and operating margin were both in line with original guidance at 28.0%

and 14.9%, respectively
3Q 2011 Results

HTC’s diverse product offerings, expanded distribution network and growing global brand recognition, have helped the Company deliver a record-high quarterly revenue of NT$135.82bn in the third quarter of 2011, resulting in after-tax earnings of NT$18.68bn and EPS of NT$22.07.

HTC sold 13.2 million smartphones in 3Q 2011: 93% more than the same period last year, and 9% more than the second quarter of this year.

New products launched during 3Q addressed a wide variety of customers and market segments. Co- branded with Beats, HTC Sensation XE and HTC Sensation XL offer a studio-quality experience to consumers. HTC Rhyme bundled a new HTC Sense experience and sleek accessories to create a lifestyle device. The Company expanded its entry-level offerings by launching HTC Explorer into emerging markets, such as India, on the heels of HTC Wildfire’s success. And HTC Titan and HTC Radar were the first smartphones to launch with the new Windows Phone “Mango” platform.

China is one of the most important growth regions for HTC, and China reported top sales growth across all regions this quarter – 9x more than its sales volume in the same period last year. HTC Wildfire has become an iconic, mainstream smartphone in the region, and HTC launched the flagship HTC Sensation into two major operators (China Mobile and China Unicom) networks. Two highly- customized social networking devices – HTC ?? with Sina Weibo and HTC ChaCha with QQ – showed HTC’s strong committment to deepen Chinese comsumers’ experience. The Company aims to capture early brand preference in China, as smartphone penetration is at an early stage.

Operating profit continued to grow from NT$12.40 billion in the same period last year, to NT$20.18 billion this quarter- up 63% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter – on the back of expansion inoperating scale and increased revenue. HTC is focused on driving economic scale to achieve efficient operating leverage and a healthy operating margin level.

HTC Rezound has come into the lime-light due to a bunch of the device’s cases going up for pre-order. The phone is pretty identical to recent HTC styling and will have similar specs

HTC Confirms devices holding data, promises quick fix

HTC has confirmed after inspecting the security vulnerability that surfaced over the weekend, that allows any app requesting internet access to take a peek at a user account information, GPS location, system logs, and other potentially private data. They have issued a statement on the same which is below. Check it out.

HTC takes claims related to the security of our products very seriously. In our ongoing investigation into this recent claim, we have concluded that while this HTC software itself does no harm to customers’ data, there is a vulnerability that could potentially be exploited by a malicious third-party application. A third party malware app exploiting this or any other vulnerability would potentially be acting in violation of civil and criminal laws. So far, we have not learned of any customers being affected in this way and would like to prevent it by making sure all customers are aware of this potential vulnerability.

HTC is working very diligently to quickly release a security update that will resolve the issue on affected devices. Following a short testing period by our carrier partners, the patch will be sent over-the-air to customers, who will be notified to download and install it. We urge all users to install the update promptly. During this time, as always, we strongly urge customers to use caution when downloading, using, installing and updating applications from untrusted sources.

iG Exclusive : HTC Sensation XE Launches 7th OCT in Europe (UK) and Asia, India Possibly Included
The highly awaited sequel of the HTC Sensation, the HTC Sensation XE is all set to launch in the UK on the 7th of October 2011. It seems like the company is eager to push out its revamped device to the users/consumers, just before the next Apple device can launch.

Sources close to iGyaan have told us that the company plans a launch of the devices in Europe including UK and Asia including India in the first ten days of October 2011. The revamped handset boasts a bunch of improvements over the original Sensation including a faster processor.

Price for the UK remains at £410 (£492 inc. VAT) and the device is expected to HIt India at the 32,500/- Rupees price mark with a significant decrease to 28,500/- within 15-20 days of launch. Exclusive Insider : HTC Hourglass Coming to India End November for 14,599/- + Extra for Add-ons

We have got some exclusive news for those hoping to get in on the HTC Rhyme action (launched earlier today in the US). We have got exclusive inside new that the device will launch in India as early as November 1st week and latest by end November – no confirmed dates yet.

But one thing we have heard since the past 5 hours is the price : we are hearing a 14,599 price at launch ( sounds brilliant for the device.) along with additional 499, 1899, and 2099 for the charm, bluetooth headset and desktop speaker respectively.

HTC has finally made official, the Rhyme, for Verizon Wireless. The company pegs the device to give all users the experience they desire, tanks to the included accessories.

HTC is working on a Windows 8 Tablet

According to industry insider Eldar Murtazin, HTC is working on a Windows 8 slate that will be powered by a Qualcomm-built ARM chipset. HTC is usually the first vendor when it comes to portable OS launches from Microsoft. As was the case during launch of Windows Phone 7. Now HTC is possibly going to be the first manufacturer to run windows 8 in tablet form. The only difference here is that a large mass of PC vendors/manufacturers (the likes of Dell, HP, Samsung, Lenovo, Tosiba, Asus, Acer, MSI) that have the hardware equipped to run Windows 8 tablets already have their devices to boot.

Many tablet PC’s may emerge industry winners when it comes to quick boot Windows 8. Now if someone would port windows to our cheap Touchpads…..!

HTC has finally intro’d the long rumored HTC Sensation XE, the new smartphone will have a revamped 1.5 GHz processor and beats audio. Now the unit itself essentially is the same with a qHD display (540 X 960) resolution and boasts a larger 1730mAh battery.
