  • Leaked : Huawei Ascend G710, 5-inch Smartphone

    Leaked : Huawei Ascend G710, 5-inch Smartphone

There’s a reason why Huawei has become one of the world’s top smartphone manufacturers, despite surprisingly flying under the radar: it continues to introduce all sorts of smartphones for consumers.

It would appear that Huawei has another new smartphone in the works, the Huawei Ascend G710 which you can see in the photo above,  posted online by the reliable @evleaks.

Like so many devices nowadays, the Huawei Ascend G710 is going to have a 5-inch display, but this one will purportedly have just 720×1280 resolution. That’s quite a bit lower than the previously-announced Ascend D2 from Huawei, which has a full 1080P panel. The G710 will have capacitive keys at the bottom of the screen though, which leaves physically more space on the screen than the D2.

No mention of which version of Android the Huawei Ascend G710 will be running, however we wouldn’t be surprised to see Android 4.1.2 installed on this device out of the box. It was noted as having GSM and CDMA support. Otherwise, based on the image we can see what appears to be a brushed metal backing with a speaker grill towards the bottom of the back.

The only other known spec is a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, which is a Huawei staple lately. No other specs, availability or pricing is coming out on this one just yet.

  • Huawei Finally Announces The Ascend P2

Huawei Finally Announces The Ascend P2

Huawei has launched the Ascend P2 today, its new flagship Android smartphone equipped with a 4.7-inch HD display and running version 4.1 (Jelly Bean) of Google’s popular mobile operating system.

This is a follow-up to the Ascend P1 and is being dubbed as “the world’s fastest smartphone.”

The new Android handset has a quad-core 1.5GHz processor at its core, along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s a 13-megapixel camera around the back, along with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

    ascend p2

The 8.4mm thin Ascend P2 has a 4.7-inch 720p IPS screen with 312ppi ratio. This came as a surprise since all the previous rumors pointed to a 1080p display unit. The screen is covered by a Gorilla Glass 2 layer and is rounded at the edges to create an “Infinity pool” perception as Huawei calls it.

The capacitive touchscreen layer is embedded inside the display cell and it allows operation with gloves or nails, much like the one on the Nokia Lumia 920.

The Huawei Ascend P2 is skinned with the company’s Emotion UI 1.5 which might not add to much to the experience Android experience.

Huawei Ascend P2 also uses Huawei’s proprietary Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) power-saving technologies, which allegedly reduce power consumption and charging time by more than 25% compared to other smartphones.

Huawei declared its plans to focus on smartphone development and worldwide distribution. It also announced full-year global sales revenue of $7.5 billion with 127 million shipped devices. 52 million of those devices are handsets and 32 of those are smartphones.

  • Huawei Ascend P2 To Feature 4.7-inch 720p Display Instead Of Rumoured 1080p

Huawei Ascend P2 To Feature 4.7-inch 720p Display Instead Of Rumoured 1080p

The Huawei Ascend P2 is no stranger to leaks, but the one thing we were truly excited about — its4.5-inch 1080p display — has been scrapped (if it was anything more than a rumour in the first place) in favour of a more standard 720p resolution.

And it’s a reliable shout too, since it’s based on comments from Huawei’s head of mobile Richard Yu, who’s said on Weibo that a full HD display on a sub-5in display makes no sense, since the human eye wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between that and a 720p panel, but you’d still pay the penalty in terms of battery life.

Huawei, in order to achieve record-breaking thinness on the Ascend P2, reportedly chose to include in-cell display technology, much like iPhone 5. This should allow the company to reach the 6.5mm number while maintaining decent battery life.

Considering it’s meant to be a mid-range device, the rumored specifications are certainly impressive, including a 1.5GHz quad-core Hisilicon K3V2 CPU, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, 4.7-inch display,13MP camera, and 3,000mAh battery.

The Huawei Ascend P2 will be one of the new handsets to be unwrapped at MWC in Barcelona. If you want to know what is happening at MWC, stay tuned!

Leaked : Blurry Images Of Huawei Ascend P2 Ahead Of MWC

    huawei ascend p2

The Huawei Ascend P2 is a sure thing — the question is whether the rumoured specs will match up to the hyped ones.

Another set of Huawei Ascend P2 images have surfaced. These latest are offering a look at the backside of the device as well as a slightly blurry look at the front side. Basically, these are certainly not the best leaked images we have seen, however on the flip side — it is nice that the pics are showing an actual phone.

The new smartphone is expected to sport an 8.6mm thick body, along with a 4.7-inch (or larger) Full HD display, capable of delivering a 468ppi pixel density.

According to various sources, the phone should also sport Huawei’s home-made quad-core SoC clocked at 1.8Ghz, with 2GB of RAM, along with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back with HDR, and Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top.

Additionally, the device is said to feature 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot and a 2,200 mAh battery inside.

Huawei is set to hold a press event on February 24 at this year’s Mobile World Congress and we’ll probably see the Huawei Ascend P2 debut there.

Huawei Ascend P2 Press shots leak to confirm 13 MP camera, Slim Design

    Ascend p2

Wondering why Smartphones are still so fat? Well Huawei might be there with an answer to all the bulk with the new Huawei Ascend P2, a smartphone thats only 6.45mm thick.

The leaked images confirm that the Huawei Ascend P2 is indeed in the pipeline, and that too with a mammoth 13 MP camera and a slick metal body. Apart from the details mentioned little is known about the P2 , although rumors are pegging a full 1080p HD display at only 4.5 inches, 2GB of RAM, and a big 3000mAh battery for power.

The Huawei Ascend P2 is said to be Shipping with Jelly Bean 4.x, and the only think keeping the media vary is the 1.8 GHz Quad Core SOC which is of an unknown / self developed / Chinese nature. Keeping performance estimates on this device low. However, with the recent trend of phablets, Huawei might just do well in a market like India with a Quad Core Full HD Phone, with 2 Gb of RAM at the price of say a Galaxy Grand.

Huawei will be officially unveiling a few devices at CES. The Windows Phone powered W1, the Ascend D2 the mongo Android-powered Ascend Mate. We’ve seen these devices make an appearance online, either leaked or pleasantly shown off by a Huawei exec.

Now a new set of images, courtesy of reliable tipster EVLeaks, has popped up online. It looks like the W1 will come in white, blue, pink and blue. The specs have it sporting a 4-inch display and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 2000mAh battery.

    The D2 has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 13MP camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, runs Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean, 3,000mAh battery. huawei

While several of the spec details for these three devices have surfaced, some details that we’re still without at this point relate to their release dates and whether or not they’ll be made available here in India. The good news is that CES 2013 kicks off next week, so it won’t be long before Huawei spills the beans on these devices, and you can bet that we’ll be live at the big show when it does. Huawei will be expanding its presence in several different categories with this trio of phones, and it’ll be interesting to learn what the company’s plan of attack is when it comes to availability and pricing. Which of these three handsets do you prefer so far?

Huawei Ascend Mate Images Show Up Before Its Official Announcement

    ascend mate

Additional shots of Huawei’s upcoming Ascend Mate have leaked out, showing off a neatly curved rear shell and that enormous 6.1-inch screen. The photos obtained by MyDrivers, show what is essentially a big black slab, with on-screen buttons.

There appears to be a slight curve to the back of the device, which should make it a little nicer to hold in the hand. If a 6.1 inch smartphone could ever, truly feel nice in the hand.

The Ascend Mate with is entering the phablet market, currently dominated by Samsung Galaxy Note devices.  The rumoured specs of the Ascend Mate have it coming with a 6.1-inch 1080p Full HD display, quad-core 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 13MP camera, 9.9 mm thin and packing an impressive 4,000 mAh battery.

Huawei intends on unleashing this 6.1-inch titan at next month’s CES.

Huawei Ascend D2 Pictured Ahead Of CES

    huawei

CES 2013 will be soon upon us, and Huawei is one of the manufacturers that will unveil a new flagship phone, the Ascend D2. The folks over at ithome have just published several live pictures of the Huawei Ascend D2 smartphone.

We’re starting to see many high-end Android handsets come to market with 1080p displays and quad-core chips, though, and the Ascend D2 looks like Huawei’s addition to that trend. The pictures above reportedly depict the five-inch Ascend D2 but aside from these photos not much else is unveiled, except a confirmation of previous rumors talking about a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera, and Jelly Bean with the power of a 3000 mah battery behind it.

    huawei

We all remember its predecessor, the D Quad, and it’s battery-boosted bro, the D Quad XL, but the D2 stands to be a significant step up from both of them.

The smartphone will be available for purchase for around $500/€380 outright, though we don’t have any info on the exact release date.

It’s great to see Huawei continuing to push the higher-end market and get those devices selling – after all, competition is good, especially on price point. We may also see a new 6.1-inch tablet from Huawei at CES, which will be interesting to try out, to say the least.

  • Dayum! Huawei 6.1-inch 1080p Ascend Mate “Phablet” Shown Off Before CES!

     huawei

It’s a little over two weeks until the world gets to know the massive Huawei Ascend Mate smartphone, but one company exec has already given fans a sneak peak.

The company confirmed it would be launching the 6.1-inch, full HD 1080 Ascend Mate earlier this month, with an eye on taking down the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Now it has appeared in the flesh, courtesy of Richard Yu, Hauwei chairman of devices, who couldn’t wait to show off the behemoth at a company store in Guangzhou, China.

You can see the smartphone in action in the video above, as it runs Titanic on the display (hope the phone doesn’t replicate the movie’s ending!). The 1080p-friendly device (sporting 361 pixels per inch on its screen) has been rumored to sport a quad-core, 1.8-GHz HiSilicon K3V3 CPU and two gigabytes of memory. Additionally, it’s been suggested that a whopping 4,000 mAh battery will power the device. It’ll be interesting to see just what kind of uptime Huawei will be able to deliver given the trade-off between the phone’s massive screen size and equally massive battery.

We will likely learn more about the Ascend Mate as CES 2013 approaches, but will people really line up to get a smartphone that is so big it might not fit in their pocket? Time will tell.

Leaked : Huawei W2 Expected To Be The Next Windows 8 Operated High End Phone

    huawei

The Huawei Ascend W2 has just leaked out and it follows in the footsteps of HTC and Nokia who each have one lower and one higher end Windows Phone 8 device. We have already seen the Huawei Ascend W1, the company’s affordable device, and this here Ascend W2 will hit the high-end market.

    huawei

It looks to have a screen 4.5 to 4.8 inches in size, with an 8MP rear camera and dual-LED flashes, along with a front-facing camera for Skype calls. We’d venture a guess that the insides will be packed with a dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM and a non-removable battery somewhere in the vicinity of 2000 mAh, but these are mere rumours.

Huawei, Microsoft’s fourth launch partner, is expected to launch the device at CES next year, early in 2013.
