This iPhone X-Like Device Has A Front Facing Fingerprint Sensor

The Apple iPhone X was launched in September of 2017 along with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. While the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus seemed, more or less, an incremental upgrade over their respective predecessors, the iPhone X represented the future of Apple’s iPhone lineup. Weeks before the launch, there were speculations that Apple would implement facial recognition technology and get rid of Touch ID altogether.

Apple did that, and it resulted in the display of the iPhone X having a cutout at the top. The notch on the iPhone X was met with a conflicting response but, one thing was clear, that the notch would be embraced by more smartphone makers in the coming months.

Taking “inspiration” from the iPhone X, iLA has launched its new smartphone, the iLA X. Whether the name of the smartphone “iLA Ex” or “iLA 10” is still confirmed. What is confirmed though, is the uncanny similarities between the iPhone X and the iLA X. The iLA X has a vertically placed dual camera setup at the back of the device with the LED flash placed between the two sensors. However, the company has listed the device as having a single 13MP camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera.

On the front is a 5.5 inch display with a 1280 x 640 px resolution. It has an 18:9 aspect ratio as compared to the 19.5:9 aspect ratio found on the iPhone X.

The iLA X comes in three colours, black, blush gold and silver. People planning to buy this device should keep in mind that the blush gold and silver colour variants have white bezels on the front. A few weeks before the iPhone X launch, a leaked image revealed the iPhone X with white coloured bezels. There is a reason Apple went for black bezels and the iLA X is the perfect example of why exactly.

The iLA X is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset, has 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is expandable via a microSD card. The iLA X however, has a feature that a lot of iPhone X users would’ve liked on their device, a front-facing fingerprint sensor.

The Apple iPhone X is one of the best smartphones launched in 2017 but, it also comes with a hefty price tag. The iLA X however, looks close to the real deal and costs about US $120.

  • The Sharp Aquos S3 Has A Design Identical To The iPhone X

The Sharp Aquos S3 Has A Design Identical To The iPhone X

At the time of its launch, the iPhone X was met with mixed thoughts in terms of its design. However, one thing was certain, the iPhone X notch was going to be a heavily repeated phenomenon in the smartphone industry and so far, it’s holding its true. Even though the Essential Ph-1 did it before the iPhone X, the Ph-1 having a cyborg eye-like cutout for the front camera. The iPhone X however, has a bigger and more prominent notch to fit all the hardware required for Face ID.

The upcoming Sharp Aquos S3 will be launched on the 16th of January and its leaked images reveal a design very similar to the iPhone X. The smartphone will have a 5.99-inch LCD display with a 2040 x 1080 px resolution. The images also show off the iPhone X-like notch which appears to house just the earpiece and a camera.

Under the hood, the Aquos S3 will either have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or the 630 chipset along with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage.

To the back of the device is a vertically placed dual-camera setup again, uncannily similar to the iPhone X. The visible difference here is that the LED flash is placed below the camera module rather than sandwiched between the two cameras like in the iPhone X. The Sharp Aquos S3 has a 12MP+13MP camera setup on the back but, there are no details about the type of lenses used.

One thing that a lot of Apple fans would’ve wanted in the iPhone X, is present in the Aquos S3 and that is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. While Face ID has been great, the convenience of choosing between Face ID and Touch ID would’ve been ideal but, it also looks like Apple has plans to replace Touch ID with Face ID in all of its iOS and macOS devices.

The Sharp Aquos S3 is not the first iPhone X lookalike that has made or will make its way to the Chinese market. Doogee, a Chinese smartphone maker recently launched the Doogee V with an iPhone X-like notch on the display and a dual-camera setup similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9+ leaks.

  • This iPhone X Clone Might Have One Thing That iPhone X Doesn’t

This iPhone X Clone Might Have One Thing That iPhone X Doesn’t

The Apple iPhone X was launched in September after months of anticipation and speculation. The iPhone X was a huge departure in terms of design from all the previous iPhones launched over the course of 10 years. While the design of the phone is extremely modern with thin bezels and a tall display, it has a notch on the top of the display which people love to hate.

    iPhone X

However, as is with every iPhone, the iPhone X and its notch is well on its way to start the trend of notches on smartphone displays even though the Essential Ph-1 was launched way before and had a cyborg-like cutout on the display to house the front camera. A few days ago, we reported that the OPPO R13 phone might be the iPhone X clone you were looking for but, this new leak of a smartphone from LEAGOO might be the closest thing to an iPhone X yet. And, it has one thing that even the iPhone X doesn’t have.

The images reveal the design of what could be the LEAGOO S9. It is uncannily similar to the iPhone X and even has a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the phone. While the bezels are thicker than the ones found on the iPhone X, the notch and the vertically placed dual camera resemble the iPhone X.

Unlike the OPPO R13, the LEAGOO S9 (tentatively named) has a fingerprint sensor, something which a lot of iPhone loyalists asked for from Apple. So, is this the ultimate iPhone X you were looking for? Let us know in the comments!

  • OPPO R13 Is The iPhone X Clone You Need

OPPO R13 Is The iPhone X Clone You Need

The Apple iPhone X is the most expensive iPhone ever. In a country like India, buying the 256GB variant of the iPhone X can cost you over a lakh, which is not a small amount for a smartphone. Now, being the ‘trendsetter’ that Apple is, it has prompted OPPO to go the bezel-less route and embrace the “notch” life as well.

In new leaked images of the upcoming OPPO R13, the influence of the iPhone X is on full display. The OPPO R13 has been revealed to have a design way too similar to the iPhone X with a glass back, vertically placed dual cameras and a bezel-less display.

According to a report, OPPO had filed a display patent back in September which showed an iPhone X-like notch on the top alongside a full-screen display. The leaked images certainly reveal the implementation of that patent as OPPO sets out to make an Android-powered iPhone X.

There is also a home bar at the bottom of the screen, just like the iPhone X. The iPhone X uses gestures for navigation within the OS since there is no home button due to shrunken bezels and, it appears that OPPO has done the same, even though, Android has had on-screen navigation buttons since eternity.

To recall, the OPPO R11 was also uncannily similar to the iPhone 7 Plus which became more famous because the OPPO R11 was the OnePlus 5 which resulted in comparisons. So, OPPO’s move is not surprising but, the company has gone all out this time.

Face ID on the iPhone X

It is worth noting here that there is no fingerprint sensor visible in the photos. Now, either OPPO has housed the sensor in the lock button like the Razer Phone or, has its own version of Face ID. No word on specifications or release date of the phone has been revealed as of now.
