Sony PlayStation 5 Might Launch In Late-2018

Sony and Microsoft right now, dominate the gaming console industry, with Nintendo recently joining the fore. The Nintendo Switch with its portability and power has become extremely popular in some markets. Now, it appears that Sony might launch its next-generation of the gaming console, the PlayStation 5 in late-2018.

The PS 5 could launch in late-2018 and will be powered by an AMD chipset. This chip will have a lot of deeper VR advantages. Interestingly, these will be custom-made AMD Zen chipset on the Navi architecture. It is worth noting that the source of this report has had decent success in similar leaks about the PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

However, a contradicting a report by an industry analyst appears to have quashed this rumour. According to Michael Pachter, a release later this year for the PS5 is very unlikely. In fact, Pachter believes that Sony PS5 will most likely ship sometime in 2020. However, he also doesn’t rule out the possibility that it could release in 2019. He says:

25% [probability] next year and 75% in 2020.

Sony is known for waiting a long time between generational launches. The gap between the first PlayStation and the PlayStation 2 was notably a little over five years. Meanwhile, the gap between the between the PS2 and PlayStation 3 was roughly six years. And then the gap between the PS3 and the PlayStation 4 was seven years. This means that a 2018 launch of the PlayStation 5 would create a gap of 5 years, which seems highly unlikely.

Samsung Odyssey Z Gaming Laptop Officially Launched

Samsung has unveiled a new gaming laptop called the Samsung Odyssey Z. The availability of the Odyssey will be initially limited to South Korea and China. However, the company is yet to announce the pricing of the laptop. The Samsung Odyssey Z comes with the latest Intel CPU and NVIDIA GPU. Additionally, Samsung has redesigned the notebook with four fan setup for thermal management using Z AeroFlow cooling system. As the Z Blades are located on up top, the company has squeezed the keypad and trackpad in the same frame. Though this sounds like an intellectual design choice, it does look hideous.

The Samsung Odyssey Z has a 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD display. Under the hood, the device is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 chipset with NVIDIA GTX 1060 MAX-P GPU. The graphics card offers up to 10% more processing power than the 1060 MAX-Q. Additionally, the notebook has up to 16GB LPDDR4 RAM and 1TB NVMe based SSD. Additionally, the notebook packs in a 1.5 Watt speaker and a red coloured backlit keypad.

To keep the device cool all the time, Samsung has incorporated a new technology called ‘Dynamic Spread Vapor Chamber’, which helps to reduce the temperature of CPU and GPU. Marvel Strike Force Now Available On Android And iOS Devices

Marvel in collaboration with FoxNext Games has released free to play Marvel Strike Force game for iOS and Android devices. This is a role-playing-style (RPG) game which features characters from Marvel Universe.

A user has to form a team using 60 defined characters. One can choose between Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Loki, Elektra, Captain America and Iron Man. After the formation of a team, you have to battle against evil-minded opposition to save the earth. The player has to use different attacks and moves to fight the enemy. Though the game is free to download, one can boost up the characters using in-app purchases.

In the introduction, the game will display Marvel’s logo. At the time of loading, it will feature important characters like Spiderman and Ironman. Far Cry 5 Now Available For Xbox And PC

Ubisoft has officially launched the Far Cry 5 on the 27th of March 2018. The game will be available for Play Station, Xbox, and PC platforms at a starting price of US$ 59.99. Ubisoft has claimed that the game can render at a native 4K resolution on supported consoles.

For the first time in the series, the Far Cry 5 gameplay is set in the US. The game-play offers a complete freedom for the player to navigate anywhere between the map as a new junior deputy in Montana. Upon the arrival of the main character into the play, triggers violence in the city. The players have to different forces to form a resistance to fight the evil. Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi MIX 2s in China on the 27th of March. Along with its flagship smartphone, the company has also launched a gaming laptop named Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop. The notebook comes two variants. The 8GB RAM model is priced at 5,999 Yuan and the 16GB RAM model retails for 8,999 Yuan. The notebook has design similarities as of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook with a full metal unibody design. In fact, the notebook also looks similar to the Apple MacBook Pro.

The Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop has a 15.4 inch FHD 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD display with narrow bezels. PUBG Now Available On Android And iOS In India
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is now available for smartphones and tablets running on iOS and Android OS. The game is developed by a China-based company Tencent, the corporation that owns WeChat. PUBG is a multi-player online battle royale game where around 100 players parachute into an unknown location. To survive in the game, one has to rummage for weapons to kill fellow players. The safe area decreases over the time, which forces the players to engage in a battle. The last player or the team that survives will be the winner of the round.

The mobile version of PUBG has an experience very similar to the PC version. However, the graphics have been toned down to support mobile GPU. Unlike PC or the Console version, the game is limited to a single map, which still offers a long-lasting gameplay. The game weighs around 670MB at the time of download and requires at least 1GB of storage space.

Fortnite Battle Royale Launching On Mobile Platform
Fortnite Battle Royale, a popular cross-platform game by Epic Games is soon coming to the mobile platform. The company is planning to roll out the title to popular Android and iOS devices.

The Fortnite Battle Royale is already available on different platforms like Play Station, Windows OS, and macOS. By launching the game on iOS and Android, the company is planning for the cross-platform gameplay across the devices.

Epic Games has stated that the gameplay will be identical. In fact, they have mentioned that the 100-player game will have same maps, content, and weekly updates.

iOS users can sign up on the 12th of March for the launch event and the invites will start rolling out at midnight of the same day. We tried this game on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB RAM. The overall gaming experience was very smooth, still in some part of the game the graphics look dated. Finally, if you are into action games, then Tekken is a must try.

Xbox One X Gets A Price Hike in India; Now Costs Rs. 48,490

Microsoft launched the Xbox One X in India in on January 23rd. At the time of the launch, it was priced at Rs. 44,990. However, it has recently received a price hike. Due to an increase in the customs duty from 10% to 20%, the console will retail now at Rs. 48,490. However, still, a few online retailers have listed the device at an older price tag, which is expected to remain the same until the arrival of the new shipments. Hence, prospective buyers have enough time to buy it before the hike kicks in.
