You Can Now Buy the Galaxy S5 for Rs. 17999

If you’re looking to buy a Samsung phone, now is the time. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is available in a sale at a price of Rs. 17,999. This price is for the Charcoal Black, Electric Blue and Copper Gold variants of the phone that can be purchased via the Flipkart app for mobile phones.

Rs. 17,999 is an excellent price for the 2014 flagship device of Samsung. The device is water resistant, among other cool specs that it includes.Galaxy S5 features a 5.1 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 2 MP selfie camera capable of Full HD video recording and a 16 MP ISOCELL main camera with autofocus and LED flash.

Samsung Galaxy On5

On5 has seen a fall in prices too. All these devices can be purchased off Flipkart while the offers last. The On5 is priced at Rs. 7,990 from its initial Rs. 8,990. On5 is one Samsung’s first devices of the On-series.

The device sports a 5-inch (126.7mm) HD touchscreen display, and is equipped with a 5 MP front camera and an 8 MP main camera. It has 8 GB of internal storage and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor.

Unboxing and Hands On : Samsung Galaxy On 5 and Galaxy On 7

Samsung has today launched two new handsets the On5 and the On7 in their ongoing efforts to take over the budget market. The handsets are not a lot different from their previous edition J series phones and appear to be identical in terms of design to last year’s design lineage for Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy On5

The new Galaxy On5 is priced at Rs 7999 and is a younger sibling to the On7. While both handsets appear to be identical, there are a few major differences.

The On5 has a Exynos heart with 1.3 GHz on the clock, along with 1.5 GB of RAM. The display has a resolution of 1280x720px on the 5 inch glass. The main camera is 8 MP and the front camera is a 5 MP both with f2.2 lenses and 1920 x 1080p video capture.

The back has a soft touch plastic that mimics leather in look. The phone is capable of taking two 4G enabled sim cards along with expandability of upto 128 GB. The inbuilt storage on the phone is 8GB.

Samsung Galaxy On5

The UI is snappy and quick and not much more than you can expect from an Rs. 8000 phone. The camera app is also custom Samsung and offers many of the new app features, including PRO mode and quick launch.

The Samsung Galaxy On7

The On7 on the other hand has a larger 5.5 inch display albeit the same resolution at 1280 x 720p.

The chipset is completely different as the On 7 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 which is clocked at 1.2 GHz on 4 cores. 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage complete in internals. A 3000 mAh battery powers the On 7 vs the 2600 mAh on the On 5.

The camera on the back gets a bump up to 13 MP ( actually 12.8 MP) along with a slightly improved f2.1 lens. The front captures 5 MP stills and both cameras capture 1080p video.

The On 5 and On 7 are identical in design and looks and are completely made from plastic parts. The extensive use of plastic makes them lightweight, however, cheapish looking.

With Micromax set to launch the next canvas tomorrow, waiting might be a good decision.

Samsung Officially Launches the Galaxy On5 and On7 Smartphones

Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about Samsung’s newest budget phones, the Galaxy On5 and On7. The devices were briefly listed in the companies website a few days ago and we understood some specs of the devices. Samsung has now officially launched the phones and here’s what we know.

The On5 and On7 are pretty similar to each other and are equipped with a 1.3 GHz 32-bit quad-core Samsung Exynos 3475 processor paired with a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU and 1.5 GB of RAM. The phones come with a really low 8 GB internal storage, but are expandable up to 128 GB via MicroSD slot.

The Galaxy On7 and the Galaxy On5 feature 5.5-inch and 5.0-inch Super AMOLED display, respectively. Another point of difference between them is the camera. The Galaxy On5 has an 8-megapixel rear camera while the On7 houses a 13-megapixel sensor rear, and they both sport a 5-megapixel front. Meanwhile, the On7 has a bigger 3000mAh battery compared to On5’s 2,600mAh.

Samsung has in all likelihood cut down on bloatware for the two devices seeing as it comes only with an 8 GB internal storage. However, even with reduced bloatware, an 8 GB phone will be a tough sell for buyers. One will have to wait and see how people take to Samsung’s new phones.

As far as pricing is concerned there has been no word on it yet, though the expected prices stand at $150 for the On5 and around $200 for the On7. The phones are expected to launch in markets outside China in the next few months.
