    A New Sleek iPhone 5 Concept

    People all the world are waiting anxiously for the next iteration of Apple’s Jesus Phone. There are many rumors going around and speculation is ripe about to the design and specifications of the iPhone 5. Some people believe that the phone will have a larger screen, some believe that it will have a better camera and processor. Whatever the case may be, the iPhone is coming and its coming soon.

    Antoine Brieux of NAK Studio recently came up with his own idea of what the iPhone 5 should look like. And he’s come up with a super sleek design. The concept is reminiscent of the iPod Nano due to the coloured aluminium and shape of the bezel. If the new iPhone looks this good, it’s going to have no trouble selling (not that it’s going to have any trouble selling either way). What do you think of this new concept?

    Looks like Apple might bring a total of three new things to the Table this September. New iPhone 5, revised iPad 2 ( 3) and a totally new iPod 3g?. Yes you read it right, several sources including a dutch website claim that Apple will release a 3G iPod touch this year. Similar to the iPad , the iPod touch 3G will only be able to use the onboard radio for data connectivity and not to make phone calls. 

    But we know there is always a work around for that, right?

    So essentially a total of three totally revamped iOS devices are heading your way in September. We sure hope you start saving up!

    The flash video format has become one of the most popular formats for sharing video online. Many sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe etc. have become big businesses in the Online Video Industry. I’m sure you’ve all seen 3d panoramic photos where you can pan and zoom the scene to view whatever you want. Well the Panoramic Video concept is pretty similar minus the zoom function. You can click and drag the video to change your view angle, all while the video is playing. This allows you to have a 360 degree view angle.     According to a report by DigiTimes, a rumor around the supply chain in Taiwan is that Apple is going to adopt a curved cover glass for the iPhone 5.

    Cover glass makers are reluctant to commit investment to the purchase of glass cutting equipment due to the high capital involved, said the sources. However, in order to push forward the production of curved glass, Apple reportedly has purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines to be used by glass makers, said the sources. The glass slicing machines are currently being stored at associated assembly plants and will be brought online once yield rates for the production of curved glass reaches a satisfactory level, the sources revealed.

    According to Forbes, Nokia will use ST-Ericsson hardware to power at least some of its Windows Phones. The U8500 chipset is a Nokia loved dual core processor which will be housed within Windows Phone 7 handsets out of Nokia’s Stable.

    According to several other reports the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset might also be one of the first few chipsets to be used by Nokia, Quickly to be followed by ST-U8500 for its powerhouse WP7 lineup in 2012-13.

    Amazon has been working on an Android Based tablet, this news has been confirmed by the Amazon’s CEO. But, in a drastic turn of events according to Android and Me, looks like the company is actually planning a host of ANDROID POWERED DEVICES. Ranging from Tablets in various sizes, E-book readers and even possibly a Smartphone.

    Earlier this week Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, said “stay tuned” for more information on the product, which is rumored to have been manufactured by Samsung and could launch as early as this summer. According to us a tablet from amazon will possibly beat the sales of their E-book reader “Kindle” in the first few months.

    Vietnamese site tinhte.vn has posted a video of what they claim is the next-gen iPhone. This time around the White version will be  available straight out , the iPhone demonstrated in the videos below is a factory white iPhone with a storage of 64 GB. It is also running the new build of iOS on it (Test build 8A216).

    The few other things include direct Facebook integration, as opposed to being an app in the current version. Dragging apps to create folders also shows us a brief look at a redesigned folder UI, the multitasking has been redesigned to resemble the Mac OS Expose’.

    If this is true, Apple executives might end up biting their own toes this year. According to AppleInsider Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities talked with sources in Apple’s supply chain to learn that the iPhone 5 will have

    • Same A5 processor as the iPad 2
    • 8 megapixel rear camera
    • New antenna design
    • Qualcomm baseband for both GSM and CDMA models

    He also said that Apple will shift its launch from june to September and will not be able to launch the iPod touch at the same even due to the Disaster in Japan.

    Here is an interesting tidbit. A report at russian website Habrahabr [Russian] claims that they have first hand information on the new and upcoming models of Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 Lineup. The W7 and the W8 will be both touch screen, where either of them will have a slide out full qwerty keyboard. They also present information on how Nokia will get to play with the Phase 2 of Windows Phone 7 Devices where the form factor limitation will be lifted and the ability to reorganize the operating system, will be an integral part of the Manufacturers capability.

    HP just recently announced the TouchPad, Pre 3 and Veer. Now it appears HP may have more devices to be announced including the one leaked above. Codenamed the Stingray this webOS device comes  without a physical keyboard and their source describes the device as an “EVO with WEB OS”.

    Its been a month and more since the new Web OS devices were announced by HP, we have no news or reports of them heading to India. We hope the devices reach India soon, before we run out of the urge to test the new version of WEB OS.

    According to information gained by Mobile Review, LG has been chosen by Google to produce the Nexus branded Tablet. According to Mobile Review the device will be used as Google’s base for development, run the latest Honeycomb (Android 3.0) and will be ready in “mid-summer or early autumn.”

    What is also Interesting, the device may be a test unit for Google’s internal purposes. But, that also means that LG has in-fact upped it production quality standards enough to impress the likes of picky engineers at Google.

    Chinese site xda.cn has posted  renders of the Pyramid’s front and rear, specs are also being thrown around :

    • 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display
    • 8 megapixel primary and 1.3 megapixel front cameras
    • 768MB of RAM
    • Android 3.0 (seems unlikely)

    Along with that there is also considerabe evidence and renders of the two new upcoming Windows phone devices from the Taiwanese giant.

    Ignite, has a underclocked 1GHZ processor marked at 800MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.7-inch display, and a 5 megapixel camera around back.

    The Prime, however, has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and similar specs to the Ignite.

    Marc Driessen, Nokia Benelux product manager has let out some details on the unannounced updates that Nokia will be offering to Symbian Lovers. Talks about a symbian revamp have been going on for quite some time now, but now the companys own people are spilling the juicy details. According to Driessen, Nokia is targeting a major UI overhaul in the fall, an update rumored to include

    • dedicated pull-down status bar up top
    • new iconography
    • new flexible widgets
    • simplified navigation bar
    • better menus

    Any of those sound familiar to the “rejected by Nokia” OS?

    It is also Rumored that that N8 and E7 will get this update faster than others, possibly by Summer 2011.
