  • Massive Discounts on the Apple Watch in the US Hint at a New Watch Model

Massive Discounts on the Apple Watch in the US Hint at a New Watch Model

In what will come as the strongest indication of the Apple Watch 2 launch being close, the original Apple Watch as of now is being sold by re-sellers for discounts as big as $100. The Apple Watch which started retail last year, has seen its prices being slashed drastically in the past weeks, hinting at what could be an earlier than expected March launch for the next iteration of the smartwatch.

    Apple-Watch-India-Launch-set-fro-Nov-6

Earlier reports had hinted at Apple sticking to its plans of launching the next iteration of the smartwatch in September, while releasing a major OS update along with multiple bands for the current watch in March, but after today’s move that looks less of a possibility.

According to latest data by Juniper Research, the Apple Watch is by far the most loved smartwatch in the world, constituting over 50% of smartwatch shipment in 2015. The Watch, which was globally released in April 2015, has overtaken Samsung’s Tizen powered Gear S2 which was launched in November last year. With such aggressive sales the company will look to get more Apple Watches out of their inventory before next month’s launch.

  • Yahoo In a Soup; Might Put Itself Up For Sale

Yahoo In a Soup; Might Put Itself Up For Sale

According to reports, Yahoo might be considering to put itself or its core businesses up for sale. This could include selling off Yahoo’s internet business, spinning off its shares in Alibaba, or doing both.

    Yahoo

Yahoo has been deteriorating slowly through the years, and CEO Marissa Mayer had been given several years to work on it, in the hope to turn things around. Despite all of that, Yahoo’s biggest asset remains its stake in Alibaba. The company was planning to spin off its holdings in Alibaba for a while, however, the plan was never executed due to tax concerns.

    Yahoo Mail

If Yahoo does decide on selling off its internet business shares, it will end up remaining barely anything more than a holding company for its Alibaba shares. On the other hand if they decide to keep the internet business and let go of its Alibaba holdings; that will just leave Yahoo a weaker company than it is now. Despite such worrying reports emerging, Yahoo has not made any official announcement yet.

This tablet comes with an 18.4 inch screen, a built-in stand and also offers live television in some places. There’s a handle at the back of the device, and the screen features a 1080 X 1920 resolution with 119ppi pixel density. It runs on the Exynos 7580 chipset which comes under the hood with an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU inside. In the memory department, it comes with a 2GB of RAM space and 32GB of internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy View comes with a 2.1MP camera in the front while the entire device is fueled by a 5,700 mAh battery with 8 hours of internet. The cell reportedly will allow you to listen to music for up to 299 hours, the device is also compatible with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity. It will come in a regular black colour with the Android 5.1 pre-installed.

However, we should note, that currently the model with cellular connectivity will not hit sales anytime soon. So, we will only have access to the Wi-Fi only variant.Samsung Galaxy View

Even up till a fortnight ago, we were wondering why exactly had Samsung launched an 18 inch device which seemed like a hybrid of a TV and a tablet. Perhaps time will tell. Would you be willing to lug the Samsung Galaxy View around for some video-streaming pleasure when it arrives in India?

Xiaomi to Host a 3-Day Sale for the Diwali Season

With the festive season just around the corner, and companies all over are offering all sorts of Diwali offers, Xiaomi too has taken to social media to tease a sale. The company put up Twitter updates on its Indian handle which read as follows:

The hashtags and the numbers all hint at a Diwali sale between 3rd to 5th November. The sale could include discounts and attractive offers across e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart as well as on mi.com itself. Discounts and free gifts were already available on Xiaomi devices, along with exchange offers, last month.

The company has been hinting at sales and exciting offers for two days now. It is only natural for us to speculate about these social media updates. Diwali this year might indeed turn out to be brighter than always.
