  • Samsung Trying to kill Wave owners by letting everyone upgrade to Wave 2.0

Samsung Trying to kill Wave owners by letting everyone upgrade to Wave 2.0

Its the classic case of “we want you to buy new devices” Wave 2.0 is said to be considerably heavier than the existing version. As in the case of iOS 4 for iPhone 3G , You basically get half the features of higher end phones, a lot of lag and crashing and a chunk load of disappointment all around. Lets hope that this is not the case with BADA 2.0 as SAMSUNGBADA twitter account has updated saying that all existing bada devices get Bada 2.0, but not all get all the features.

Looks like its gonna be one big battle b/w users, Samsung and App devs (most of whom are already dreading different formats from Bada OS)

    Ready for battle – round 1 – …………………….

  • Samsung will Launch GALAXY Tab 7.7, the Wave 3, and the GALAXY Note On 1st September along with Upgraded SII

Samsung will Launch GALAXY Tab 7.7, the Wave 3, and the GALAXY Note On 1st September along with Upgraded SII

Remember the “Big Announcement” Samsung told us about? Well looks like we won’t have to wait for D day. Samsung is all set to launch the new  GALAXY Tab 7.7, the Wave 3, and the GALAXY Note and an upgraded Samsung Galaxy SII on the 1st of September. If sources are to be believed, then the newer variant of the SII will be the first 4G LTE/WCDMA/GSM handset. The phone may also sport a faster 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, a 1,850 mAh battery and a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.

Samsung may have already confirmed rumors of the Nexus Prime in a dumb letter by the legal department. The 1st September date seems logical to announce these devices, because “big Apple announcements” are supposed to happen in September.

25 August 2011, London, UK – Sony Ericsson today announced new functionality and features to its 2011 Xperia™ smartphone range with a comprehensive software upgrade from October 2011. Consumers with 2011 Xperia™ smartphones will benefit from improvements to Sony Ericsson’s unique Facebook inside Xperia™ offering and 3D camera functionality from Sony. The upgrade also allows consumers to enjoy the full benefits of the Android Gingerbread platform including Google Talk with Video Chat.

Sony Ericsson’s unique social experience provided by Facebook inside Xperia™ has been super-charged enabling Xperia users to like, share and discover on Facebook in a faster, easier and more intuitive way. The new functionality aims to make entertainment more social by giving users the ability to share and discover apps and games with friends through Facebook.

The latest camera enhancements from Sony introduce 3D sweep panorama technology so that images can be captured and then viewed in 3D by connecting the phone to a 3D TV using the HDMI output.

“With this software upgrade, we are bringing a wealth of new and really entertaining experiences to all our 2011 Xperia™ smartphones, including those already in consumers’ hands today,”said Nikolaus Scheurer, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “Our users will get to enjoy new features from Google, an even richer Facebook integration, and enhanced camera functionality from Sony.”

Xperia™ neo V is one of the first new products to launch with the new software and will include all the features like Google Talk with Video Chat, 3D sweep panorama and enhanced Facebook inside Xperia™ functionality. Building on the success of the original Xperia™ neo launched earlier this year, Xperia™ neo V takes the latest Android software for smartphones and the best of Sony entertainment experiences, including Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine, to even more markets. Sony Ericsson Xperia™ neo V will be available globally in select markets from Q4 2011.

The software upgrade will be available in select markets through a phased roll out starting from October 2011. Xperia™ owners will receive a notification instructing them to instantaneously download the software over the air via 3G or WiFi. Alternatively, they will have the option to connect to a computer and download it via PC companion.

  • Possible iPhone 5 Leaked : Spy shots

Possible iPhone 5 Leaked : Spy shots

Looks like someone managed to snap the images of a test iPhone 5 in the US. Images from a man claiming to have spotted an Apple employee field testing the iPhone 5 have surfaced. Although the images are really blurry, one can easily make out the Apple logo at the back along with the curvaceous back rumored for the iPhone 5

9 to 5 Mac reported this incident, and their tipster claimed to have seen the device upclose.

Almost EVO-like in screen size, this iPhone also appears thinner than the current iPhone 4 but also wider.  The edges are rounded metal like the edges of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but could still function as an antenna.  The back is a curved/tapered glass or plastic, if I had to to guess I’d say glass.” Said the Tipster

If this is indeed the next gen iPhone 5 in testing, then you can bet your money on the fact that its going to be released end August this year. The above images also match the render images iGyaan found sometime back.

  • Leaked iPhone 5 Images | Real – Fake ?

    Leaked iPhone 5 Images | Real – Fake ?

iGyaan got  images from the popular supplier website Alibaba.com, for cases/screen protectors of the upcoming iPhone 5 ahead of time giving clear indication of the iPhone 5’s design.

As speculated the camera and flash module appear to be separate. and the rumors of dual led round flash seem to be true as well. Several vendors seem to be dealing in products pertaining to the iPhone 5. A quick look at the images reveals the form factor and the design elements as discussed in rumors prior to this.

Although the device in the images has the name iPhone Pro, which puts a big question mark on the authenticity of these images. But, the fact that these vendors are selling products and using a render image means that the device possibly is similar looking to the images if not precisely same.

The image below was found in May, this case had appeared on Alibaba.com which was later taken down.

  • iPhone 5 will have a Completely new Design, Will Launch in August

iPhone 5 will have a Completely new Design, Will Launch in August

Several sources are reporting that the new iPhone 5 will come earlier than expected.  There are several rumors suggesting that apple will hold a special event with a major overhaul in the hardware and design of the iPhone 5, killing all existing speculations and rumors. thisismynext.com rendered the iPhone in a unibody tear shape which might be thicker along the top and may reduce to bezel along the bottom part.

Higher specs are being quoted as always , A5 chip, 1GB of ram, Dedicated GPU performance, 32/64GB capacities , NFC, 8 mega pixel camera and of course iOS5. What needs to be seen is whether or not Apple will actually host an iPhone 5 /4s event in August and if it does, a new unibody iPhone with a larger screen and bumped up specs would definitely hold down competition for another year.

    Heres Hoping….

These BlackBerry Bold smartphones are built on a new performance-driven platform featuring a 1.2 GHz processor, Liquid Graphics™ touch screen, and support for high speed 4G/HSPA+ wide area wireless networks.

The Liquid Graphics touch screen, a key new feature powered by BlackBerry 7, delivers fast, smooth performance for highly responsive touch-based navigation, web browsing, pictures, video and graphics intensive games*. Offering up to 60 frames-per-second performance with instant UI action/response, Liquid Graphics gives customers a visually rich and immersive experience that’s responsive to the touch. In addition, the smartphones feature brilliant displays with an eye-popping 287 dpi to deliver crisp, stunning visuals.

The new platform also provides support for 4G networks; the 9900 supports HSPA+ connectivity, and the 9930 supports CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and HSPA+ global roaming on GSM/UMTS networks.

    NFC
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 smartphones include built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), a new technology that will enable many rich and exciting experiences. It provides an easier and faster user experience with improved browsing, voice-activated searches, the ability to manage personal content separately from corporate content, as well as additional personal and productivity apps out of the box.

The BlackBerry Browser has been significantly enhanced in BlackBerry 7. In addition to the general performance gains of Liquid Graphics, which helps deliver faster rendering and seamless panning and zooming, the BlackBerry 7 browser includes a new JIT (just in time) JavaScript compiler to improve the load time speed of web pages. The new browser also includes support for additional HTML5 elements, such as HTML5 Video.

Building upon the Universal Search feature introduced in BlackBerry 6, BlackBerry 7 expands the capability to include voice-activated search. This new capability makes it even easier and more convenient to search for content on the smartphone or web.

BlackBerry 7 also integrates BlackBerry® Balance™, which separates personal content from corporate content on the smartphone, giving users the freedom and flexibility to use the handset for personal email, Facebook®, Twitter®, multimedia, games and other apps while satisfying the very real need for corporate data to be highly secure and manageable. BlackBerry Balance works in conjunction with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 5.0.3, which provides a number of unique IT policy controls such as wiping only corporate data from the handset or blocking work related content and apps from being copied or forwarded to personal contacts.

With BlackBerry 7 on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 smartphones, users will also get the full version of Docs To Go® with all “premium” features enabled out-of-the-box so that users can easily work with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly on the smartphone. White iPhone 4 : claimed to be iPhone 5 with 64GbB storage and new Multitasking UI

Vietnamese site tinhte.vn has posted a video of what they claim is the next-gen iPhone. This time around the White version will be  available straight out , the iPhone demonstrated in the videos below is a factory white iPhone with a storage of 64 GB. It is also running the new build of iOS on it (Test build 8A216).

The few other things include direct Facebook integration, as opposed to being an app in the current version. Dragging apps to create folders also shows us a brief look at a redesigned folder UI, the multitasking has been redesigned to resemble the Mac OS Expose’.

Have a look at the Video and tell us how real do these claims look?
