Sony Teases The Launch Of Xperia XZ4 In The New Teaser Video

Sony is all set to unveil its flagship smartphone for the year 2019, the Xperia XZ4 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. The Japanese electronics brand posted a 15 second teaser video on Twitter, which hinted at the launch of a “new smartphone design”. The teaser with the description “Embrace a new perspective” points towards the upcoming Xperia XZ4.

    About The Teaser

Although the teaser doesn’t exactly mention the Xperia XZ4, Sony creates speculations regarding a smartphone with an unconventionally tall display. A “new perspective” might mean the tall 21:9 display of the upcoming device. A lot of leaks have already revealed a lot of specifications and features of the Xperia XZ4. Furthermore, Sony has already filed a trademark for the term ‘Cinemawide’ with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on February 4. It is noteworthy here that a ‘cinemawide’ or 21:9 display will allow the user to enjoy cinematic widescreen movies without any black bars.

    Specifications And Features

Sources have claimed that the Sony Xperia XZ4 may have 3 camera sensors on the back. The smartphone is expected to sport a 52 MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.6, which will make it the highest pixel count so far in a smartphone. The device is supposed to be equipped with a 0.3 MP ToF sensor to increase autofocus speed, along with a 16 MP (f/2.6) telephoto lens.

The device will supposedly be powered by a 4400 mAh battery with fast charging support. As mentioned before, the device is expected to launch at the MWC 2019 which is scheduled for 25 to 28 February in Barcelona.

The Xperia XZ4 will the first in the series of premium Xperia smartphones. Sources say that the model will have 3 different camera sensors mounted on the back. The main/primary camera, which rests in the middle is a 52 MP (F/1.6) camera, and it’s supposedly much better than Honor View 20’s 48 MP sensor. In fact, it is being speculated that the Xperia XZ4 has the world’s best sensor in terms of pixel count. To boost the auto-focus speed, the phone will be equipped with a 0.3 MP ToF sensor. The telephoto lens has a 16 MP (F/2.6) sensor. All these details were sourced from Reddit, so it’s not official yet. So even though it’s definite that the ToF sensor is on the same device, we can’t say if it’s for the front camera or the rear camera.

It’s just a matter of time before the Sony Xperia XZ4 is announced, probably at the MWC 2019. Sony’s success rate dropped a bit with its last smartphone range, but hopefully they’ll make it back to the top with a smartphone release like this. Besides, Sony smartphones set standards for some of the best cameras all around. We all hope the legacy continues.
