What We Know About Zuk Z1: The New Chinese Smartphone Ready to Hit the Market

The new Chinese startup, Zuk, backed by Lenovo and Qihoo 360 is planning to launch a smartphone, with their own own Cyanogen OS, android alternative technology. Apart from this, the phone promises to have great specs and a low price.

According to CEO Chang Cheng’s social networking page Weibo, what we know till now is that the device will sport a Type-C USB 3.3 port, a home button which is also a fingerprint scanner and according to various leaks, the Zuk Z1 will feature a 5.5 inch 1080p (1920X1080) display with 3GB RAM space and 64GB internal storage. The handset is said to be powered by either Snapdragon 808 or Snapdragon 810, and one can expect a 4G LTE connectivity too. The Cynogen OS will be found installed on top of Google’s operating system and the phone will come with a pre-installed android 5.1 Lollipop.

The specs are also said to be supported by the Cynogen OS and the Zuk phone’s website says that the OS will have a customer user interface called ZUI, over the top, which can be related to Qihoo’s Android based OS. The Zuk Z1 also comes with a commendable battery life of 4000mAh. The phone is set to launch in China on August 11, 2015, and will be available through Chinese e-commerce website, JD.com. The rumoured price in India is said to be approximately Rs. 20,000.
