YU and Cyanogen Go Through Breakup Says Lenovo

YU Televentures and Cyanogen seem to be going through a breakup it seems, as Lenovo is shouting that ZUK smartphones with Cyanogen are India bound. The 2014 YU and Cyanogen exclusive partnership left OnePlus in dirty muddy waters struggling to launch the OnePlus One in the region.

This could also mean that the company’s next handset seen running Android 5.1 may or may not come with Cyanogen.  Lenovo is working on its online brand ZUK for a while and will be launching in India soon.

The ZUK Z1 running Cyanogen 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with 64 GB of storage for a price of Rs. 18500 approximately in China. However it is expected to hit the Indian market for roughly Rs. 19,999.

Good decision by Cyanogen, Zuk Z1 is a good handset, but if it’s priced at 19999, it would not be successful, as it’s using SD801 32bit architecture and old specs. If they price it around 12-13k it would be a good buy…

Good decision by Cyanogen, NOT being exclusive to single brand

Maybe yu was badly hit by coolpad, letv and yes mi rn3, and thus they broke up with cyanogen. Just to cut out some cost. Also, yureka was the only handset yu was able to sell , after that all the devices were just secs sheet and nothing else.

IF YOU ARE ROOTED AND YOUR DEVICE IS QUITE FAMOUS AMONG DEVELOPERS THEN THIS SHOULDN’T BE ANY PROBLEM.

igyaan I would not trust more on Cyanogen powered devices. They have failed to continue maintain relationship with any OEMs.
