Moto G6 Plus is an upcoming mid-tier smartphone from Motorola. This is one of the first Moto G series devices to have a glass back, glass front and a metal mid-frame. Similarly, this is also one of the first Moto phone to have an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The device has a Moto X4 like design with a dual rear camera setup and a side-way placed fingerprint sensor.
HMD Global launched the Nokia 7 Plus at Mobile World Congress 2018. This is the first non-flagship series smartphone from the company, which has an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with a dual Zeiss branded camera setup and a 16MP front-facing camera. The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Redmi 5 in India on the 16th of March. The Redmi 5 is the cheapest smartphone from the company with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Octa-core chipset with 2/3/4GB RAM and 16/32/64GB storage. The smartphone has a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
OnePlus has finally lifted the curtains off of the OnePlus at an event in London. The OnePlus 6 will launch in India on May 17th where the pricing details will be announced. The OnePlus 6 follows up the successful OnePlus 5T, which was launched in November, about five months after the OnePlus 5 launch. Makes you wonder whether the OnePlus 6T is just around the corner!
The base model of the OnePlus 6 is priced at US$ 529 (Rs 35,800 approx.), the 8GB RAM/128GB model will retail for US$ 579 (Rs 39200 approx.) while the 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant will cost you US$ 629 (Rs 42500).
Asus has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 5Z in India. Astonishingly enough, the smartphone will retail for a starting price of Rs 29999, which is considerably cheaper than the OnePlus 6. The Zenfone 5Z has all the features for a 2018 flagship smartphone and will go on sale in India via Flipkart on 9th July. It is worth noting that there is a flat Rs 3000 discount upon using an ICICI Credit/Debit card, bringing the price down to Rs 26999 for the base model.
OnePlus has launched its second flagship smartphone in 2017, the OnePlus 5T at a price of US $499. The device will be available globally on and will go on sale in India on the 21st of November via a flash sale exclusively on Amazon.
The OnePlus 5T is an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 5 which was launched in June 2017. The hardware is more or less the same as the OnePlus 5, with a new design and display size. The OnePlus 5T is more in line with 2017 flagship phones with thin bezels and a tall display which has become a norm in 2017 flagship phones like the Galaxy Note8 and the iPhone X.
Motorola has launched the Moto G5S Plus in India at a price of Rs 15,999 with dual-cameras and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. The phone will succeed the Moto G5 Plus, which was highly praised for its camera performance. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD display and a 3,000 mAh battery. Motorola will build on the success of the Moto G5 Plus due to its camera performance by introducing a dual camera in the Moto G5S Plus. The dual camera captures Bokeh, and selective focus shots, along with other capabilities of background replacement and exposure management. On the front is a wide angle 8MP camera with a single LED flash and a new panoramic mode. The rear cameras capture videos in 4K at 30 FPS.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has been launched in India on September 12th at a price of Rs 67900. The Galaxy Note8 is the first note series smartphone to sell in India in always two years, since the launch of the Note5. While Samsung had taken registration for the Note7 last year, the company never launched the phone in India due to its global recall. The Galaxy Note8 is the third Samsung flagship smartphone launched in the country in 2017 after the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched earlier in the year. The new 2017 Samsung Galaxy Note has a 6.3 inch 2960 x 1440 px 18.5:9 aspect ratio Super AMOLED display with an 83.1% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of the device.

The iPhone 8 features the same display and resolution as the iPhone 7 from 2016 but, the new True Tone display feature adjusts the white balance according to the lighting for a brighter and sharper display. The iPhone 8 has the new A11 Bionic chipset under the hood and Apple’s own GPU promises great AR performance as well. The battery backup remains the same on the iPhone 8 as the iPhone 7 with an addition of wireless charging this time around.

Google launched the new iteration of the Pixel 2016, the Pixel 2 during its launch event at Google HQ. The Pixel 2 is priced at Rs 61000 for the 64GB variant. A new addition is front-firing dual stereo speakers. The big omission is the much talked about 3.5 headphone jack. The Pixel 2 also has an always on display for better accessibility. Another feature is the Active Edge feature which lets you squeeze the frame of the phone to launch the Google Assistant.

Micromax has launched a whole lot of new phones at today’s launch, led by the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro their new flagships.
The new Canvas 6 comes with a metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor on the back. While the Canvas 6 Pro features a Plastic body and is missing the fingerprint scanner. Both phones have a 5.5-inch 1080p display. While the Canvas 6 runs on a MediaTek chipset of an unknown moniker, the 6 Pro runs on an Helio X10 chipset. The Canvas 6 sports 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, whereas funnily the Canvas 6 Pro has 4 GB of RAM but lower stage at just 16 GB.
The Canvas 6 Pro will cost Rs. 13999 and is up for Pre-Order now on Micromax’s online store.
Both the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro have Dual Sim and microSD expandability. For optics the phones have a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, with PDAF and a f/2.0 aperture, the front camera on the Canvas 6 is 8 MP whereas on the Canvas 6 Pro is 5 MP with a Wide Lens.

The launch was more to talk about the Company’s plans and a newly revamped identity, which adds a cleaner look to the logo and changes the tagline, from the grammatically incorrect “Nothing Like Anything” to a more youthful “Nuts.Guts.Glory”. Equally strange if you ask us.
The company also announced that it is rebranding the “Around YU” service and calling it “Around” and it will be available across the Micromax Portfolio of devices.
Micromax also launched some laptab notebooks and new televisions at the launch.
