  • Goophone Clones The New HTC One Even Before It’s Launched!

Goophone Clones The New HTC One Even Before It’s Launched!

Remember Goophone? The company that cloned the Samsung Galaxy S5 within 2 days of its launch? Well, they’ve bettered themselves by launching their version of the all new HTC One, even before it’s been announced!

Goophone hasn’t shied away from using the purported codename of the real All New HTC One, M8. HTC is due to announce its 2014 flagship on March 25th whereas the clone has already been listed and can be ordered by anyone willing to purchase it. In a sense its Goophone’s own successor, as it cloned the HTC One last year as well.

As can be expected with all the other Goophone clones this latest clone only resembles the HTC M8 in physical appearance but its internal hardware is quite different. At first glance you might be fooled into thinking that it is the real deal from the front view as it appears to have a similar design as the original device. The back part of the device bears the Goophone brand which announces that it isn’t an HTC device.

Of course the Goophone wasn’t able to pull off the rear dual cameras that are widely expected of the upcoming flagship HTC device. Also for a price of $229 we are certainly not expecting high quality metal to be covering up all the parts that are under the hood of the phone.

Specs-wise, the GooPhone M8 is similar to the GooPhone S5, as it comes with an eight-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, mated to only 1 GB RAM.  Other specs include a 5-inch, 1080p display, a 13-megapixel non-Ultrapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 16 GB expandable storage, a 2,800 mAh battery, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

HTC M8 Leaks In Video, Company Cautions Uploader

A young YouTuber by the name of Roshan Jamkatel has posted a 12-minute review of a developer edition HTC M8, the codename for the new HTC One.

The 12-minute video shows off both an AT&T HTC M8’s hardware and software, giving us a glimpse at its dual rear cameras, on-screen buttons and refreshed camera UI. We’re also shown the M8?s microSD card slot, which is housed directly above the device’s volume rocker. There are a number of comparisons to the original HTC One in the video as well, giving us a good idea of just how HTC’s 2014 flagship compares to its predecessor.

The body appears to sport more rounded corners and rear, while the metal chassis remains and navigation keys are moved on screen – all things which fall in line with previous rumours.

The video was taken down from Roshan Jamkatel’s account, after a very threatening exchange with HTC Senior Global Online Communications Manager, Jeff Gordon.

Jeff Gordon supposedly tweeted: “it’s not going to be a good week for you, my friend,” followed by “we have the IMEI and all other info. We’ll be in touch,” but the posts have since been removed.

Here is an Exclusive look at the HTC M8 : HTC One Successor

While we are not far away from the launch of the possible successor of the HTC One (also known as M7), iGyaan has got some images of what may as well be the HTC M8.

    HTC M8 iGyaan 1

The handset seen above sports a high quality polished Aluminum casing designed from a single block just like the HTC One. The M8 will have different specs compared to the HTC One including a 5-inch 1080p display powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 coupled with 3GB of RAM and Sense 6.0 UI on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

If sources are correct the UltraPixel camera setup at the back is designed to use an 8mp sensor and a 4 MP sensor as opposed to the dual 5MP setup we have all been hearing. The led flash, like the one seen on the Apple iPhone 5s, is a dual-tone type.

The front is mostly identical to the HTC One and features a BoomSound speaker setup and lacks physical or dedicated capacitive touch buttons.

HTC Executive Indicted For Leaking Secrets

Six employees of leading local smartphone maker HTC Corp, including vice president of product design Chien Chih-lin, were indicted by the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office yesterday on charges of leaking trade secrets and breach of trust.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Thomas Chien, formerly VP of product design at HTC, has been charged with leaking details of a future smartphone interface design, believed to be version 6.0 of the company’s Sense software for Android.

In addition, prosecutors allege that Chien and his collaborators profited to the tune of 33.6 million New Taiwanese dollars ($1.12m) by accepting kickbacks from suppliers and charging fake expenses back to HTC.

The Taipei Times named the 5 other HTC employees involved in the indictment as HTC senior manager of design and innovation Huang Kuo-ching, HTC research and development director Wu Chien-hung, senior manager of design and innovation Huang Hung-yi, manufacturing design department manager Hung Chung-yi, and employee Chen Shih-tsou.

An HTC representative said that “The company expects employees to observe and practice the highest levels of integrity and ethics. Leaking company secrets could carry prison sentences of up to 10 years. The indictments top off a year of bad news for HTC, which has struggled with poor sales and executive management.

Today’s smartphones are more than just a piece of electronic equipment, they often are an all-in-one tool for business, entertainment and so much more. In rare occasions, they can even prove to be lifesavers.

The now extremely proud owner of an HTC EVO 3D smartphone can happily say the phone may have saved his life, as this week we’ve learned a recent robbery went south after a store clerk was shot. However, the good news is his trusty and aluminum EVO 3D smartphone reportedly stopped the bullet, and saved his life.

The man and a co-worker were threatened at gunpoint during a shift, with the robber demanding the contents of the petrol station’s safe, local news service WESH-TV reports.

When it transpired that the pair were unable to access the safe, the offender fled, firing a parting shot as he ran. The man only realised that he had been shot after the police arrived on the scene.

Complaining of chest pains, he lifted his shirt to find that his HTC EVO 3D has intercepted the bullet and prevented it from entering his body.

Three days after the incident was first reported, HTC tweeted the following :

So HTC send him, not only a brand new HTC One, they also included a “Glad You’re OK” care package that included, among other things, a Car Dock, an “On-The-Go Charging” Battery Bar, and a Hipster Troll Carwash (HTC) Mug .

In the past we’ve heard of Nokia devices saving their owners from stray bullets, and it looks like HTC is stepping up to the party now!

HTC One Max Power Case, Gives 30 Percent Extra Battery Life

Along with the HTC One Max itself, HTC has also launched a bunch of accessories including the new flip cover like Power case for the giant HTC One Max.

It is fairly easy to use accessory as the device uses a three pin system and gets charged by the phones battery, which terminates the need to put in a wire and charge it separately. HTC’s New Infographic Hails ‘Great Trios In History’, Hints At The One Max

HTC has once again created an infographic that gives a hint of an upcoming device – possibly the heavily leaked 6-inch One Max that will join the One and the One mini. This time the graphic shows several popular trios in life and also brings their current “Here’s to Change”marketing strategy into play by breaking down HTC into various acronyms: Snap, Crackle and Pop (Hearing Tasty Cereal); Three Amigos (Hip Thrust Coordination) and Destiny’s Child (Hello Top of the Charts).

The One Max is expected to be unveiled next week and rumoured to come with a 6-inch 1080p display, a 1.7Ghz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, UltraPixel camera with a 2MP front-facing camera, running Android OS 4.3 with Sense 5.5. The One Max is also rumoured to include a finger-print sensor.

The company did something similar ahead of the launch of the HTC One Mini, offering up an infographic on little things that made a big impact.

Facing declining sales and increased competition, HTC has been trying to step up its marketing game, recently debuting an ad campaign starring Robert Downey Jr.
