Nikon Officially Discontinues D5500 And D7200 DSLR Cameras

Nikon has finally announced the discontinuance of the popular D5500 and D7200 cameras. Rumours about the same were doing rounds of the internet for the longest time, but it seems like Nikon has finally done it. Both the cameras were released in 2015 and Nikon has better options with even better specifications at the moment. It seems like a good time to discontinue them, as the 24 Megapixel Dx body D5500 was getting old and featured old technology and so did the D7200.

The D5500 was available in several different bundles with different body and lens combinations at  the time of it’s discontinuation. The first bundle was priced at Rs. 61,950 with D-ZOOM KIT: AF-P 18-55mm VR + AF-S 55-200mm VRII Kit Lenses. The second bundle available was for Rs. 65,950 which had the AF-S 18-140mm VR Kit Lens. It also had a cheaper option for  Rs. 52,950 with AF-S 18-55mm VRII Kit Lens. The camera was worth Rs. 47,450 for the body only version. These were extremely high considering other cameras as well as Nikon’s own D5600 is priced in the similar price range. The D5600 has better specifications and so does the newer D7500. The D7200 had a price range of Rs. 1,08450 to Rs. 69,950 while the D7500 has a price range of Rs. 1,15450 to Rs. 96,950.

This year, Nikon has forayed into the mirrorless segment as well, which are quite expensive. With the discontinuation of the older models it seems highly likely that Nikon might release newer models of the currently available D7500 and D5600 soon. While Nikon itself has discontinued the two cameras they are still available on Amazon’s India website as well as Flipkart.

  • Nikon D850 Launched With A 45.7MP Sensor

    Nikon D850 Launched With A 45.7MP Sensor

Nikon has announced a new full-frame DSLR, the D850. The announcement coincides with the company’s 100th anniversary, hoping to fulfill the wish-lists of professional photographers. Nikon seems to be aiming for portrait photographers, sports shooters, event photographers, etc.

Unlike the D810‘s 36.2-megapixel sensor, the Nikon D850 is built around a back-side illuminated(company’s first) 45.7 megapixel CMOS Sensor and can push the images at 7 fps, or 9 fps with the optional battery grip. Courtesy, the new Expeed 5 image processor, you can buffer up to 51 frames of 45.7-megapixel 14-bit RAW images, or 170 frames at 12-bits. It has the exact same 153-point (99 cross type) autofocus system used in the D5 with 99 cross type sensors and multi-cam 20K autofocus.

Nikon claims that the D850’s 45.7-megapixel sensor has an “unprecedented combination of resolution, dynamic range, ISO, and processing power.” In a bid to capture incredible detail, the company took a pass on the optical low-pass filter (OLPF). No mention of the manufacturer yet, but the fact that Sony uses a similar sensor on its 42-megapixel, full-frame Alpha A7R II, makes it quite certain.

D850’s video capabilities include shooting 4K UHD footage at 30 or 24 frames per second, and 1080p video at up to 120 fps. The camera can also record uncompressed 4:2:2 8-bit 4K UHD footage to an external recorder via HDMI port while recording locally to a card at the same time. Furthermore, the D850 offers an 8K time-lapse video mode.

The Nikon D850 also has a “silent shooter” mode, to shoot in “complete silence” using Live View and the electronic shutter. Other features include a tilting 3.2-inch touchscreen, radio flash control, three sizes of RAW files and a battery which offers 1,840 shots at full resolution or 70 minutes of video on a single charge.

The Nikon D850 comes with a weather sealed magnesium body, dual card slots, illuminated buttons, focus stacking and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Nikon’s flagship camera seems to be a strong contender as compared to Canon’s 50.2-megapixel 5Ds, Fujifilm’s $6,500, 51.4-megapixel GFX 50S and the Sony’s A99 II SLT.

Nikon’s flagship camera, D850 costs $3,299 for just the body and an additional $400 for the MB-D18 Multi Power Battery Pack. The digital SLR camera is reported to arrive in September 2017.

    2039650605

Capturing lowlight images will be a cinch as the camera provides a native ISO range from 100 to 102,400, extendable up to a whopping 3,280,000 equivalent at the Hi 5 setting. The D-SLR also comes with what Nikon calls a ‘next-generation AF’ system boasting 153 focus points and 99 cross-type sensors.

As claimed by the company, the camera offers fast burst modes of 20fps at full auto-focused resolution and 60fps of fixed focus. The camera also boasts 4K video recording but can do so at only 15fps. Nikon Announces D810A, a Full-Frame DSLR to Help Capture Celestial Bodies

Today, Nikon India launched a camera that astrophotographers would like to get their hands on. The imaging technology beast showcased a high-definition D-SLR D810A, which has been designed to shoot stars.

The D810A, a variant of D810 DSLR, is a 36.3 MP camera with a special optical filter. It is sensitive to emissions of the Hydrogen-alpha wavelength and increases its transmission four times. This allows astrophotography enthusiasts to capture detailed shots of nebulae, constellations and other celestial bodies. The unique long exposure on Manual mode allows capturing pictures in the low-light conditions, offering a shutter speed of up to 900 seconds.

    Nikon-D810A

Other features that can enthral photographers are longer exposures in low-light conditions (with minimal noise), and a live view preview function.

Nikon India Vice President Sajjan Kumar briefed about the Nikon D810A –

The Nikon D810A has been designed keeping in mind the obstacles that astrophotographers face; it is a result of an amalgamation of advanced imaging technology and suite of outstanding features. Nikon D810A is a 36.3 megapixels camera crafted with unique ability to capture subjects with H-alpha wavelengths, ensuring rich vibrant capture for images of the cosmos that are true to the eye.

  • The Light and Powerful Nikon D750 Comes to the Market

The Light and Powerful Nikon D750 Comes to the Market

Nikon has launched a new hybrid camera D750. It combines the best features from Nikon’s D810, and the company’s flagship D4S, and wraps them inside a smaller, lighter body. Nikon D750 is full frame DSLR that slots in between the D610 and D810. Replacing the crowd’s favourite D700, this new camera is actually the lightest among Nikon’s traditional pro series.

The D750 has a 24-megapixel FX format CMOS sensor, an Expeed 4 image processor (the same one seen in the much pricier D810), a more light-sensitive 51-point autofocus system, and an ISO range that stretches from 100 to 12,800. It weighs around 750g, it’s significantly lighter than both the D4S and D810, and even bests Nikon’s D610 and Canon’s full-frame EOS 6D

    770.

It uses a 51-point autofocus system that’s near identical to the higher-end cameras, so you get 15 cross-type AF sensors, 11 of which work up to f/8. The D750 supports burst shooting at 6.5 frames per second in full resolution, which may come as a slight disappointment for those hoping to use it for sports or fast action.

The D750’s greatest strength is its low-light performance. Its ISO range extends from 100 to 12,800 (plus Nikon’s Hi2 mode offers an equivalent of ISO 51,200), and this thing can practically see in the dark and focus at -3EV. That’s a first for any Nikon DSLR. It’s better than what the D810 can manage; even the D4S is only capable of focusing as low as -2EV.

    back

However, the light weight doesn’t come at the cost of functionality. The D750 includes a new 3.2-inch tilting LCD, built-in Wi-Fi, and space for two SD cards. It’s the company’s first FX format camera to have a tilting LCD screen which is 3.2-inches diagonally. It is the first camera to have built-in WiFi which has been crammed into a body that’s thinner than usual. It shoots 1080p at 60, 30, or 24fps with full control over aperture whenever you’re filming. A Power Aperture feature, borrowed from the D810, smooth outs transitions when you’re adjusting aperture.

The Nikon D750 will be available with price tag of $2300 which falls between the $1900 D610 and the $3300 D810. It’s got the same resolution sensor as the D610 as well as a similarly compact design. The D750 is going on sale from September 23rd in a body-only configuration. A kit including Nikon’s 24-120 f/4 lens will follow up in October.

  • Top 6 Pocket Cameras : Pick One Which is Right For You

Top 6 Pocket Cameras : Pick One Which is Right For You

No, we refuse to acknowledge the statement that smartphones are point-and-shoot replacements. No matter how good your camera phone may be, it still doesn’t have the technology to beat the image quality of the following cameras. Unlike DSLR’s, where you have to manage several lenses – these are handy, cheaper and super convenient if you’re constantly on the go.

Here are a list of pocket size cameras that you’d wish you’d bought earlier:

    1. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10

    IntroKey features

    • 20MP 1″-type BSI CMOS sensor (13.2 x 8.8mm)
    • 24-200mm equivalent stabilized F2.8 lens
    • Weather-sealed magnesium alloy body
    • Manual zoom and aperture rings
    • Tilting 1.23 million dot rear LCD
    • 1.44M dot OLED viewfinder
    • ISO 125 – 12800 (expandable down to ISO 80)
    • Built-in 3EV Neutral Density filter
    • Approx 10 fps continuous shooting in ‘Speed Priority mode’
    • 1080/60p video with full-sensor sampling, uncompressed HDMI output
    • Wi-Fi with NFC

To many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, digital SLRs represent quality. The fact that you can remove the lens and swap it for another is inconsequential to those who never buy a second optic. It’s that segment of the market that Sony’s targeting with its Cyber-shot RX10.  We love the Sony RX10. But your $1,300 goes a very long way here, and if you need to capture sharp images and full-HD video clips in pretty much any lighting condition, with a vast focal range, you’d be hard pressed to find a more suitable shooter. This is the best fixed-lens camera we’ve ever used, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the RX10 Mark II, whenever that comes about, is the only comparable model worth considering.

    2.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III

    sony_cybershot_dscrx100_black

    Key Features:

    • 20.1 megapixel 1″-type Exmor R BSI-CMOS sensor
    • 24-70mm equiv. F1.8-2.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens
    • Pop-up SVGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 1.44M dots
    • 3-inch tilting WhiteMagic LCD with 1.23M dots
    • 1080/60p video with full sensor readout and 50Mbps XAVC S support
    • Clean HDMI output
    • Zebra pattern and focus peaking
    • Customizable front lens ring
    • 3-stop neutral density filter
    • Wi-Fi with NFC and downloadable apps
    • 320 shots per charge (CIPA standard)

The pocket-sized shooter processes video in XAVC S format, which, according to Sony, lets you record 1080p videos at a much faster data rate and with very little compression — in other words, this will make your movies look a lot better and crisper. To go with that, Sony also added a built-in, retractable OLED electronic viewfinder (which wasn’t present on either of the older editions), WiFi/NFC for wireless sharing and the ability to capture 4K still images, making the newest RX100 an even more powerful little camera.

    3.Leica T (Typ 701)

    TBPhotography-2518_1024x1024

    Key features:

    • 16MP APS-C CMOS sensor
    • ISO 100-12500
    • 3.7″ 1.3M dot 16:9 touchscreen LCD
    • Twin top-plate control dials
    • Approx 5 fps continuous shooting
    • 1920 x 1080 Full HD movie recording at 30 fps; built-in stereo microphones
    • Built-in Wi-Fi for easy image sharing, and remote control by smartphone or tablet
    • Optional 2.36M dot electronic viewfinder with built-in GPS unit
    • Built-in 16GB memory
    • Brand new Leica T mount
    • 18-56mm f/3.5-5.6 and 23mm f/2 lenses
    • 11-23mm f/3.5-4.5 and 55-135mm f/3.5-4.5 coming later in the year (at photokina 2014)
    • Available in anodized black or natural aluminum finish

This is a Leica for the modern age! It’s also quite a bit smaller than the company’s rangefinder cameras (134 x 69 x 33mm), especially in terms of height, not to mention a whole lot lighter (339g without battery, 384g with). That’s actually a little surprising, because the Leica T’s attractive, Audi Design-styled body is milled from a solid block of aluminum. A first for any camera, claims its maker.

    4.Canon G16

    PowerShot-G16_BLK_FSL_01-1

    Key features

    • 12.1 Megapixel 1/1.7″ CMOS Sensor
    • Canon 5x Optical Zoom Lens (28-140mm)
    • Optical Zoom Viewfinder and 3.0″ LCD
    • Full HD 1080/60p Video
    • DIGIC 6 Image Processing Engine
    • Enhanced Wi-Fi Capabilities
    • Continuous Shooting at 9.3 fps
    • Intelligent IS Image Stabilization
    • ISO 12800 and Canon HS SYSTEM

The Canon PowerShot G16 belongs to a long line of chunky compacts aimed at enthusiasts. Announced in August 2013 it’s the replacement for the PowerShot G15. The G series has earned a reputation as a serious compact with image quality, performance and handling that won’t disappoint those who’d probably rather be using a DSLR, if it weren’t for the added bulk. The Canon PowerShot G16 is a reassuring camera that does a good job. Its only real stand-out feature is improved responsiveness brought by the Digic 6 image processor. It is an ideal companion for users looking for a classic safe bet and who aren’t tempted by originality or eye-catching innovations. This camera is certainly built to stand the test of time, but the G series also needs to move with the times, otherwise it risks being left behind.

    5.FUJIFILM XF1

    xf1_tan_front_zoom

    Key features

    • 12MP 2/3″ EXR-CMOS sensor
    • ISO 100-3200, ISO 4000-6400 at 6MP resolution, ISO 12800 at 3MP
    • 25-100mm equivalent, F1.8-4.9 lens with optical image stabilization (4 stops benefit claimed)
    • Manual zoom ring and lens retraction mechanism
    • Full manual control, RAW format recording
    • 3″ 460k dot LCD
    • Full HD movie recording with built-in stereo microphones
    • Film simulation modes for different colour and monochrome ‘looks’
    • In-camera RAW conversion with all in-camera processing parameters adjustable
    • ‘Advanced Filters’ image-processing controls, previewed live on-screen

Fuji’s XF1 is the latest high-end compact camera to compete with the likes of Sony’s RX100 and brings with it a 12-megapixel sensor, f/1.8 lens, manual controls. It is a beautiful retro design that can’t fail to impress everyone that sees it. The camera’s image quality is markedly better than virtually all other compacts. The camera’s “average low-light performance” as a downside. While it may not beat the RX100 , the XF1 is still a camera for photographers who like something a little bit more unusual than the standard run of the mill point and shoots.

    6.Nikon Coolpix A

    Intro (1)

     Key features

    • 16.2MP ‘DX’ format CMOS sensor
    • 18.5mm (28mm equivalent) F2.8 lens
    • ISO 100-6400 (with 12,800 and 25,600 equivalent extension settings)
    • 3.0″ 920k dot LCD
    • 14-bit uncompressed NEF Raw shooting capability
    • Up to 4fps continuous shooting
    • 1080p movies at 24, 25 or 30fps
    • i-TTL compatible hot shoe

The Nikon COOLPIX A Digital Camera is a point-and-shoot equipped with a 16.2MP DX-format CMOS sensor for clear, detailed images, even in low light. The lack of an optical low-pass filter enables maximized resolution for exceptionally sharp details. The NIKKOR prime lens features a focal length of 18.5mm  for wide-angle shooting, as well as a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture. Frame shots using the large 3.0-inch LCD monitor, which has a resolution of 921k pixels. Record Full HD 1080p video with stereo sound, and connect the supplied EG-CP16 cable for playback on your TV. Capture RAW still images for a higher level of creative control. Manual options like focus ring adjustment allow you to wield precision control over your compositions. Most of the operation system and the GUI are consistent with Nikon DSLRs. Exposure bracketing is available in both manual and auto modes.

  • Nikon’s 1 V3 is a $ 1200 camera that does 120fps slow motion

    Nikon’s 1 V3 is a $ 1200 camera that does 120fps slow motion

The fast sensor captures 20fps stills with autofocus  possibly the fastest mirror less yet. The Nikon V3 also does 720p slow motion video recording at up to 120fps and has a massive 171 focus points that Nikon claims make it better to track moving objects than traditional DSLRs.

The camera now comes with two new less in the Nikon 1 lineup a 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-Zoom and a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 priced at $300 and $1,000, respectively. A standard full kit is priced at $ 1200, which contains the body, the 10-30mm lens and a viewfinder. Nikon Launches New DSLR, D5300 With Built in Connectivity Options(WiFi)

Nikon is introducing its first DSLR with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, the D5300 is the update to the previously available D5200 and will take its place as Nikon’s top most camera for the beginner DSLR users.

The D5300 features some important updates from what we saw on the D5200 like a larger 3.2-inch rotatable display, a new image-processing engine and no low-pass filter on the camera’s DX-format sensor, which should result in sharper images, claims Nikon. Having said that, this camera replaces the D5200, adding a new 24.2-megapixel sensor without an optical low-pass filter, an EXPEED 4 processor for 1080/60p video and 5 fps stills and increased battery life, allows photography lovers to take 700 shots in a single charge, compared to 500 with the previous D5200.

? 39-Point AF System – Nikon’s quick and precise 39-point AF system works with the Scene Recognition System to accurately acquire and track subjects throughout the frame, resulting in tack-sharp images. Kids too active to pose for a photo or pets chasing after a toy are easily captured in brilliant sharpness for memorable photos.

? 5 Frames-Per-Second – While using the optical viewfinder or in Live View, capture great moments that would have otherwise been missed with the D5300’s 5 frames-per-second (fps) rate.

    Share Like Never Before

The D5300 is Nikon’s first D-SLR to feature built-in Wi-Fi, allowing the user to share high quality photos instantly. The Nikon D5300 sends images to the user’s smart device, allowing them to share their D-SLR quality photos through e-mail and social media. From a winning touchdown to a surprise proposal, friends and family can now see these important moments clearly captured right after they happen. The Nikon D5300 also includes built-in GPS, another first for Nikon D-SLRs. Now the user can geotag images and allow others to see where life has taken them.

    Features for Creativity and Versatility

Compact and lightweight (16.9 oz.), the Nikon D5300 can easily be packed for a day trip or a planned getaway. The small body of the D5300 affords the photographer the freedom to travel while still being easy to handle and comfortable to use. In addition to being able to capture amazing images anywhere, the D5300 is also packed with additional features to promote creativity and versatility, including:? 3.2-inch Vari-Angle LCD monitor – Whether shooting above a crowd or getting low to capture the details of a flower, users can explore new shots from a dramatic point of view with the large 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD monitor. This super sharp (1,037K-dot) screen allows photographers to easily make camera adjustments and read menus, while also allowing them to compose the photo they want clearly when shooting from high or low angles. The rotating LCD makes it easy to capture “selfies” at an arm’s length away or frame creative perspectives when capturing still photos and HD video.

? Full HD 1080p Video Capture – Create movies fit for the big screen with Full HD 1080p video capture at 60p with built-in stereo, wide ISO range for high quality videos in any light and improved full-time AF to keep the subject in focus.

[toggle title=”Press Release “]Nikon filed a lawsuit in the U.S. for design patent and trade dress infringement

    October 15, 2013

On October 11, 2013 (US Eastern Time), Nikon Corporation (having its principal place of business in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Makoto Kimura) and Nikon Inc. (having its principal place of business in New York, President & CEO: Nobuyoshi Gokyu) (collectively, hereafter referred to as “Nikon”) filed a lawsuit with the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against Sakar International, Inc. (having its principal place of business in New Jersey) (hereafter referred to as “Sakar”) for the alleged infringement of the design patent and trade dress right owned by Nikon. Nikon seeks injunctive relief against Sakar in the lawsuit to prevent them from manufacturing and selling their Polaroid brand digital still camera, “Polaroid iM1836”.

Nikon makes a great effort to create designs that can be differentiated from other companies’ products, as well as to strongly deter the imitation of its designs. Although Nikon has negotiated with Sakar to amicably solve this problem, we could not reach an agreement. Consequently, Nikon decided to initiate the lawsuit by necessity.

The abovementioned design patent and trade dress right are related to the Advanced Camera with Interchangeable Lenses “Nikon 1”.[/toggle]

Nikon upgrades the D600 to D610 fixes the dust issue, does not much else

Nikon has upgraded their D600 to this year’s variant the D610, while the company claims its a lot faster (only captures .5 frames / second faster) and lighter (is the exact same weight as the D600) , we feel that the urge for Nikon to push out this update was to essentially fix the light and dust issue of the camera, where after some time of usage dust spots would appear on the sensor.

    D610_24_85_front34r

Like The D600, the D610 uses the same 24.3-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor (35.9 x 24mm), Expeed 3 image processor, 39-point autofocusing system, and Nikon’s Scene Recognition System for automatically adjusting white balance, focus, and exposure. ISO range is still between 100-6,400 (expandable to 25,600), and Full HD 1080p video is shot at 24p and 30p. Wi-Fi can be enabled via Nikon’s optional WU-1b adapter. The D610 also has a tougher magnesium alloy construction. Sealed and gasketed, its dust and moisture resistance is on par with its higher-end cousin, the D800. It also retains the Dual SD card slots.
The Nikon D610 D-SLR will be available in late October 2013 in a variety of configurations.

MELVILLE, NY (October 8, 2013) – Nikon Inc. today announced the Nikon D610, the latest FX-format HD-SLR to incorporate cutting-edge features and superior operability to help photographers create amazing images and Full HD video. Engineered for those enthusiasts who focus on the color, sharpness and clarity of their images, the D610 provides enhanced performance and image quality improvements, coupled with Nikon core technologies, all in a lightweight form factor. With image quality rivaled only by the 36.3 megapixel Nikon D800, the D610 is an attractive option for those willing to step up to FX-format.

“For many of us, photography is an unexplainable passion; a relentless pursuit of sharpness and fidelity in every image captured, as we endlessly seek a way to express ourselves,” said Masahiro Horie, Director of Marketing and Planning, Nikon Inc. “The Nikon D610 is a tool to help us capture and share our creative vision with all the benefits of a full frame sensor, including expanded depth-of-field control, wide dynamic range, high image quality, low noise, fine color, and low-light capability.”Superior Image Quality

Inside and out, the Nikon D610 is dynamically engineered to deliver the outstanding balance of image quality, performance and operability that only a full-frame camera can offer. The large 24.3-megapixel FX-format (35.9 x 24mm) CMOS sensor is capable of creating low-noise images with amazing dynamic range, clarity and precise color, even in challenging light. No matter the type of photography, from landscapes to wildlife, portraits to sports, the Nikon D610 excels, delivering stellar sharpness, superior handling, and the ability to enjoy the full resolution benefits of a wide variety of NIKKOR glass. Image quality and performance are further bolstered with the aid of Nikon’s EXPEED 3 image processing engine, which helps to provide vivid colors and an exceptionally broad tonal range while quickly processing image data transfer from capture to card. Additionally, EXPEED 3 contributes to surprising energy efficiency for all-day shooting.

Serious Performance for the Advanced Photographer

Whether capturing an awe-inspiring vista at the golden hour, or portraits that absolutely have to flatter, the swift response and advanced feature set will appeal to a wide range of users. From Nikon core technologies to thoughtfully laid-out controls, the robust and innovative feature set of this D-SLR will satisfy even the most demanding enthusiast.

For further accuracy, the system uses Nikon’s exclusive 3D Color Matrix Metering II 2016 pixel RGB Sensor in conjunction with the Scene Recognition System to analyze the scene and adjust exposure, white balance and focus. The resulting images display a more balanced exposure, precise sharpness and accurate color. Furthermore, the D610 utilizes nine cross-type sensors, seven of which retain AF ability up to f/8, a true boon to wildlife and sports photographers who rely on teleconverters for maximum distance.

New Improved Automatic White Balance (AWB): With an updated AWB algorithm, users can capture more vivid skies, and more natural-appearing reproduction of artificial light than ever before. Additionally, more natural skin tones can be captured, rendering faces with a more three-dimensional appearance.

New Increased Speed and Performance: A new shutter mechanism in the D610 affords a faster frame rate. Users can now capture the action at a continuous 6 frames-per-second (fps), which is ideal for photographing action sports or elusive wildlife.

New Quiet Continuous Shutter Mode: Ideal for weddings and other sensitive events, the D610 features a new Quiet Continuous Shutter Mode. When selected via the main command dial, users can shoot discreetly at up to 3 fps.

100% Frame Coverage and 3.2-inch High Resolution LCD: Shoot all day comfortably and compose easily through the wide and bright optical viewfinder, which offers 100% frame coverage. Additionally, the high-resolution 921K dot, 3.2-inch LCD screen is viewable from a wide variety of angles making it easy to compose, review and share.

Unleash Creativity with Advanced Modes: With a wide variety of creative modes designed for enthusiasts, users can continue to express themselves in new, creative ways. A series of images with multiple exposures can be combined with built-in HDR, while users can explore their inner artist with an automatic Time Lapse Mode, or the intervalometer found in all advanced Nikon D-SLR’s. To adjust color, saturation and other image parameters on the fly, Picture Controls can be applied to both stills and HD video.

Dual SD Memory Card Slots: The Nikon D610 accepts two SD memory cards, which users can set to copy and overflow, or mark as one dedicated video when shooting multimedia. Additionally, the D610 accepts blazing-fast and high capacity SDXC and UHS cards.

Full High Definition Capabilities: Capture stunning Full 1080P HD video in a variety of frame rates, including a cinematic 24p and 30p. A useful feature inherited from professional Nikon cameras, the Nikon D610 can feed 100% full screen, uncompressed video via HDMI to an external device such as a monitor or digital recorder. Additionally, a stereo microphone and headphones can be connected through thoughtfully placed auxiliary input jacks for capturing and monitoring audio.

Share a Stellar Shot Instantly: When using the optional WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter1, unbelievable images can be shared directly to a compatible smart mobile device such as a phone or tablet. Users can then share these images with friends and family through their own social networks or photo sharing applications.

Robust Construction: The Nikon D610 is sealed and gasketed, with dust and moisture resistance of the same caliber as the Nikon D800. The top and rear covers of the camera are made of magnesium alloy for maximum durability, while the shutter unit is tested to 150,000 cycles.

The Nikon D610 is compatible with a wide variety of NIKKOR Lenses, allowing users to truly realize a lens’ potential with an FX-format camera. For eighty years, photographers have come to rely on Nikon’s heritage of optical excellence for lenses that deliver the pinnacle of optical quality. Additionally, the Nikon D610 is fully compatible with Nikon’s Creative Lighting (CLS) System, and can act as a Commander to control up to two groups of Speedlights, in-camera.

Microsoft is set to buy Nokia’s Devices and Services unit, bringing the Lumia lineup under its own ownership. The move unites Windows Phone 8 with its biggest hardware supporter, giving the company the integrated mobile offering that it has been looking for with the Microsoft Surface and other similar devices. When the deal closes in the first quarter of 2014, Microsoft will pay 3.79 billion Euros to Nokia, plus another 1.65 billion Euros for its portfolio of patents.
