  • Xiaomi 5x will Launch Alongside LanMi announcement

Xiaomi 5x will Launch Alongside LanMi announcement

Xiaomi is all set to launch it’s sub brand LanMi to compete with the offline giants Oppo and Vivo. While the official announcement is expected end of July, a leaked poster of the upcoming Xiaomi 5X shows the phone will launch on 26th July and most likely be launched alongside the LanMi X1. This new model, the Xiaomi 5x, will be equipped with a Snapdragon 625 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The image appears to show a man holding a phone with a dual camera setup, which could also mean that the Mi 5x is simply the online only variant of the LanMi X1.

More leaks suggest that the Mi 5X will have dual OmniVision sensors, the  OV12A10 OmniVision sensor + OV13880 OmniVision sensor ,  along with a front facing 5MP camera with a S5K5E8 sensor. The design of the phone is a lot like the  OnePlus 5 or the Oppo R11 which are considered to be iPhone 7 plus design copies.

The LanMi X1 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 660 chipset, with options of 4GB/6GB RAM and  64GB/128GB storage. While no hard evidence of the LanMi launch exists, Xiaomi has recently shown a lot of interest in the Offline market launching several POS stores in it’s main markets including one in India. This move, which is unexpected from a “online only” brand, hits at a possibility of a sub brand launch, which could enable to company to deploy more products at various price tiers.

For India, Xiaomi is running far behind with no announcements for the Mi6 and the launch of the Mi Max 2 set for 18th July, the company may launch their sub brand by the end of the year, if not early 2018. The Mi 5X according to the poster will be priced at RMB 1999 which is roughly Rs. 19,000.

According to reports, the camera setup features two 13 MP sensors — one color and one monochromatic.  Whereas the earlier model Moto G5 Plus had a single 12 MP rear camera.  Reports suggest, the dual camera arrangement will offer the advantage of some new features like bokeh ( depth feature), background replacement and selective black-and-white filtering. Recent leaks show that the Moto G5S Plus will have an aluminum chassis, giving it a more premium look.

In comparison to its earlier variant the Moto G5 Plus, which has a 5.2 inch screen, the new Moto G5S Plus is likely to feature a slightly bigger 5.5 inch full HD display. The Moto G5S Plus is expected to launch with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. The phone is set to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

The much anticipated Moto G5S Plus is expected to be available in India in early August. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than it’s predecessor by approximately INR 2000.

  • Motorola Will Launch The Moto Z2 Force on 25 July

Motorola Will Launch The Moto Z2 Force on 25 July

According to reports, Motorola is sending out press invites for a scheduled event on 25 July. This event is rumored to be for the launch of Moto Z2 Force in US. The invite also included a poster with broken glass and the words “shatter your expectations” written across it, hinting at the shatter proof screen in the yet to be launched Moto Z2 Force.

The Moto Z2 Force is rumored to feature a  5.5-inch QHD Shatter Shield display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560, quite similar to the original Moto Z force. It has also been rumored that the Z2 Force will be equipped with the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB RAM and uptown 128 GB of storage.

The Moto Z2 Force is expected to have 12MP dual lens rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera with dual-tone LED flash. A leak suggested that the new Z2 Force will be similar in build to the Moto Z2 Play with the exception to the dual lens camera in the latest Z2 Force. According to various leaks, it has also been anticipated that Motorola might decide to bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack missing in the earlier Moto Z.

According to previous leaks Moto will not launch a non-shattersheild variant of the Moto Z2 Force, so, there will be only one model of the phone available for sale.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Is Set To Launch on 23rd August

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Is Set To Launch on 23rd August

Latest reports state that the Samsung might release the newest Note 8 on 23 August. And with the expected delay in Apple’s iPhone 8 launch, Samsung’s Note 8 might steal some of its thunder. Last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 7, and the fact that it was recalled due to battery fires, makes the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 a crucial release for Samsung. So far a whole lot of rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have been floating the rumor mill.

    Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a larger 6.3-inch curved infinity display, similar to the one used on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Samsung might switch to a 19.5:9 elongated ratio, which should feel  narrow in your hand, despite the size of the screen. Rumors also suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8  will be manufactured with a 4k display which is what is also expected to raise the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

    Design

The Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to look a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, albeit with its curves a little flattened out. Reports also suggest almost zero bezel on the sides, improved iris scanner, a horizontal dual lens rear-facing camera with the finger print scanner likely to be place next to it. The S-Pen may also get a new design with improved functionality, the pen will charge inside the Note 8’s shell.

    Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may also feature dual cameras, much like the iPhone 7 Plus, LG G6  and OnePlus 5. Each of these cameras are expected to be 12MP dual pixel sensors. While the earlier rumors stated that dual lens camera might be placed vertically but the latest leaks say that the lenses will be placed horizontally and away from the fingerprint scanner.

    Hardware

The rumored Snapdragon 835 and a massive 6GB RAM will help with multitasking and the extra features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s S Pen such as a built-in speaker. According to the reports, the 64GB on board storage and a microSD expansion will offer a major storage boost. Reports suggests that the Note 8 is expected to have a 3,300mAh battery pack, which is actually smaller than the Galaxy Note 7. But considerings last year’s battery performance issues, Samsung may want to play it extra safe.

    Price

The Galaxy Note  is said to cost over $1,000 or approximately Rs. 69,000. Majorly due to the 4k display and the edgeless design. This cost may not sit down well with the guys eager to get their hands on the Note 8.

While Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is expected to launch on August 23 with a 6GB RAM and 64 GB Storage, the company may launch a larger storage and RAM variant in certain markets for a slightly higher price.

  • OnePlus Just Blatantly Copied Moto’s Advertisement

OnePlus Just Blatantly Copied Moto’s Advertisement

Yesterday OnePlus posted a media on their social media platforms showing the OnePlus 5 in a grey colour with the 50 Shades of Grey tag “Mr. Grey will See you now” with one small change, with the word “grey” spelt “Gray” which is a more American way of writing the word.

This image seems to be an exact copy of an image Moto tweeted for the “grey” Moto M. While the meme for “Mr. Grey will see you now” is a popular and open concept. It seems that not only did OnePlus get inspired by the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus as far is design is concerned, the company is also seeking inspiration in creative campaigns for social media.

The OnePlus 5 was launched on 22nd June in India, and was highly criticised for its design which looks similar to the iPhone 7. The OnePlus 5 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and features 6-8 GB of RAM. The OnePlus 5 also has a dual camera setup on the back which has been laid out much like the iPhone 7 plus.

  • This Might Be The Next Google Pixel XL

This Might Be The Next Google Pixel XL

The unveiling of Google’s Flagship smartphone, the Pixel XL 2 is still a couple of months away, so here’s some pixel respite for those craving for a sight of the new Pixel XL .

An exclusive report from Android Police reveals that Google’s 2nd-generation Pixel XL features an LG-made 6″ AMOLED display with a 2:1 aspect ratio with minimal bezel and rounded corners. This gives the next-generation XL a contemporary look.  The “3D” glass effect with a flat screen is an interesting feature. Next up are the  wide speaker grille at the top and the front-facing camera, however, unfortunately we are unaware of the status on the headphone jack. Google also might have bid adieu to the lower body antenna band, but we aren’t too sure about it by simply looking at these pictures.

In comparison with its predecessor, Google’s 2nd-generation Pixel XL is slimmer, taller and features a fingerprint sensor that now sits below the glass “window” at the top of the phone, as opposed to inside it. Equipped with  Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC  with 4 GB RAM, Google may simply opt for a single lens camera and ditch the dual lens trend. Rumors point to the phone’s squeezable frame which allows the user to interact with Google assistant by squeezing their handsets, much like the HTC U11.

If Google sticks to the past year’s timeline, expect to see its next generation of phones debut in early October. Though a number of questions are still left unanswered but nothing can be said for sure till the 2nd-gen Pixel XL is officially unveiled. This leak will have to do for now.

  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Specifications Leak in Benchmark Results

The Mi Mix may not have been a popular smartphone for Xiaomi, but it helped the company prove itself in the market place by launching the first phone with an all display front. The Mi Mix 2 has been talked about from as early as January , but some real specifications have started to appear.

Philip Starck, the designer of the original Mix will also be responsible for designing the Mix 2. But more importantly the phone will have a larger screen to body ratio and will replace the iPhone 8 as the phone with the largest screen to body ratio. The phone has recently shown itself on benchmark results of Geekbench here showing off an Octa core 1.9 GHz msm8998 which is the Snapdragon 835. Interestingly the phone also appears to have a 6 GB of RAM as seen on the benchmark results. As for the benchmarks themselves the phone scores a whopping 6431 in the multi-core benchmark, which is impressive.

The Mi Mix 2 is expected to launch with a 6.4 inch curved AMOLED display with a QHD resolution along with a fingerprint embedded in the display. The Mi Mix 2 is also expected to show a 93% screen to body ratio with an 18:9 aspect.

The Mix 2 is also expected with a dual camera setup similar to that seen on the Xiaomi Mi 6, with OIS and depth effects.

  • The iPhone X May Not Have A Touch ID At All

The iPhone X May Not Have A Touch ID At All

The new design of the iPhone 8 has been doing rounds for more than a few months. However, till now the leaks mentioned a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display. But, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released a note to investors that mentions several details for the upcoming iPhone expected to launch in September. Here is a full list of expected changes mentioned in the note.

    • Apple will roll out three iPhone models in 2017; the new iPhone 8 with an OLED display & revisions of the LCD models including 4.7” display & 5.5” display.
    • OLED iPhone will adopt full-screen design, with the “highest screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone currently available worldwide”,  the OLED model will also come with a virtual Home button, though the button will not support fingerprint recognition.

We predict the OLED model won’t support fingerprint recognition, reasons being: (1) the full-screen design doesn’t work with existing capacitive fingerprint recognition, and (2) the scan-through ability of the under-display fingerprint solution still has technical challenges, including: (i) requirement for a more complex panel pixel design; (ii) disappointing scan-through of OLED panel despite it being thinner than LCD panel; and (iii) weakened scan-through performance due to overlayered panel module. As the new OLED iPhone won’t support under-display fingerprint recognition, we now do not expect production ramp-up will be delayed again (we previously projected the ramp-up would be postponed to late October or later).

    • OLED iPhone will support 3D sensing for facial recognition & improved selfie quality. This will be used to replace the TouchID and hence used to unlock phones and make payments.
    • OLED iPhone & 5.5” LCD iPhone will both come with DRAM capacity of 3GB (for dual-camera setup), while 4.7” version will only use 2GB DRAM (for single camera).
    • Three new models will all come with 64GB and 256GB storage options.
    • All three new models will have a Lightning port but will have an embedded USB-C power delivery chip for higher charging speeds, which would be not possible through the existing charger. The charger shipping in the box will be a 5W charger, so fast charging hardware will be sold separately.
    • Wireless charging on all new iPhones will require an optional accessory and will not be available out of the box.
    • The output power of the receiver & speaker of OLED iPhone will be more consistent to create better stereo effects.
    • The OLED version will offer fewer options for casing colors than LCD iPhone models, restricted in the early launch phase to special colors.
    • October-November & August-September as production ramp-up schedules of OLED iPhone & LCD iPhone, respectively.

For optimized promotional effect, we think Apple may unveil the three models simultaneously in September, though the launch date of the OLED version may trail that of LCD models, and supply tightness may not improve before 1H18.

    • All three new models for the 2017 launch will be 80-85 million units, with an equal split between OLED & LCD versions. As Apple expects higher demand for the OLED iPhone.
    • iPhone 8 has an ‘Apple Neural Engine’ which handles both ProMotion and various “artificial intelligence tasks”
    • All three iPhones will be unveiled simultaneously “For optimized promotional effect” However release dates will vary. September release for iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus, October-November for the iPhone 8

Moto X4 Photos Leaked with Curved Screen and Dual Cameras

Motorola’s next X series phone the Moto X4 has leaked in images with detailed specifications. Prolific leaker Evan Blass has leaked more information on the Moto X4 including images and branding.

The Moto X4 will have a 3,000mAh battery capacity along with TurboPower charging. The Moto X4 has two rear cameras, one of which is 8-megapixel and the other 12-megapixel. With the capability to include a “Portrait” mode much like that on the OnePlus 5 and iPhone 7 Plus.

  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Is Expected to Cost US$ 1000 Or More

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Is Expected to Cost US$ 1000 Or More

Samsung’s next big launch of the Galaxy Note 8 is around the corner. With the company prepping for the August launch, a whole bunch of leaks have surfaced for the mega flagship from the company. The Note series will continue on despite the recall of the Galaxy Note 7 last year. The company plans to launch some exciting new things with the Note 8 , which will not only excite consumers but make them lighter by about US $ 1000 or more.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be based on the design and build of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, think of  wider Galaxy S8+ but with an S-Pen. The company will launch the Galaxy Note 8 with a lot of firsts, it will be the first Samsung smartphone with a 4k display, a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors. The phone is expected to feature a dual camera setup to directly compete with the iPhone Plus variant. News for this was just announced by Samsung, pointing to a dual 13 MP camera array with their IsoCell sensors.  Both sensors feature 1.12 micron pixels and an f/2.0 aperture lens. However one is an RGB sensor and one a Monochrome sensor much like those seen on the Huawei phones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is set for launch on August 26th in New York , according to reports, but a Saturday launch seems unlikely for the company. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also expected to feature 6 – 8 GB of RAM as the company has finally been seen pushing 6 RAM in their mid-high range phones.

The phone along with the infinity display design is expected to have some interesting S-Pen features including new modes with which the pen will interact with the handset. For markets like India the launch will happen first week of September with availability tied in with the global release of 9th September.

The pricing of the Note 8 is what Samsung seems to be struggling with, and the phone is expected to cost US $ 1000 for the 128 GB variant and more for the 256 GB variant which will be the two variant to go on sale. In India, however, this time around the Samsun Galaxy Note 8 will be cheaper than the $1000 price and is expected to sell at INR 64999 for the 128 GB variant.

Recent case leaks of the Galaxy Note 8 on mobilefun’s website show a dual rear camera with the fingerprint sensor next to it, in a Samsung Galaxy S8 type setup. However rumours point to a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display, where the physical button is intended to be.

  • Is This Really The iPhone 8 ?

Is This Really The iPhone 8 ?

Yesterday, Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks) along with TigerMobile leaked the next big iPhone. The iPhone 8, rumored to be based completely on factory schematics, the mockup prototype shows off closely what the next iPhone may look like.

If the leak is to be believed the iPhone 8 will indeed have a large 5.8 inch edge to edge display. But will also have that notorious cutout on the top edge for the earpiece camera and sensors.  The iPhone 8 is also rumored to have an OLED display along with wireless charging, apart from the obvious improvements on camera, processor etc.

The back appears to have a dual camera bump with no mention of a physical touch-id on the back as was mentioned by some leaks. This also will possibly result in Apple’s implementation of the in screen fingerprint scanner, since Qualcomm has also recently launched their technology, along with one which Synaptics had show last year.

The dimensions obtained show a 7.5mm thickness for the iPhone, along with a 71mm width. which makes it slightly bigger than the iPhone 7 but considerably smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus.

    • iPhone 8 – 143.5 x 71 x 7.5 mm (5.65 x 2.79 x 0.29 in)

Could this finally be the end for bezels on the iPhone, and will this design be the revolutionary iPhone? It is really hard to say, however, with several credible sources and leaksters on the job, it may as well be ridiculously close to the actual , if not the actual iPhone 8. Either way, it has caught our eye.
