Apple has changed their iconic connecting chord, replacing it with an “all digital, 8-signal design” that’s 80% smaller and looks exactly like the rumors.
They have also showcased an adapter which will help the iPhone 5 to connect with the previous generation devices with the old connecting port.
Before the launch of the iPhone 5, Apple revealed some interesting facts and statistics related to the iPad! Here are the major ones :-
1. Apple had 62% market share last year for tablets, this year so far it’s at 68%.
2. iPad accounts for 91% of traffic from tablets.

The new sound coded for Skype was actually supposed to be implemented in 2009 , but due to limitations and slow internet connections Skype dropped the idea. The new codec is the re-engineered version of the one designed in 2009 to provide “CD quality” audio (fullband stereo sound) over Skype, regardless of internet connection. No details on when the codec will be implemented, but Skype and engineers promise silent – Crystal clear entry into the world.

Apple is all set to launch the next generation iPhone 5 at its Moscone centre event. While still no confirmations of the event, several sources in India are claiming that the iPhone 5 will come to India almost as soon as the iPhone 4S did if not earlier. So don’t bother spending double or triple the prices, because the iPhone 5 will be launched in India on the 28th of October 2012 for the same price of the iPhone 4s presently.
So imagine this iPhone 5 at Rs. 45,000/-, iPhone 4s at Rs. 35,000/- and the iPhone 4 at 20,000-25,000/- , Good times? Maybe not!
The most significant rumour leading up to the next iPhone is talk of a larger screen. Numerous sites have reported Apple will give its device a 4-inch screen, changing the 3.5-inch screen size of the iPhone for the first time. This will likely come true.
It is probably going to use Sharp’s IGZO display technology. IGZO screens are thinner, because they use smaller transistors, allowing more light to pass through. That means they use fewer LEDs, and therefore take up less space and consume less power.
The phone will reportedly be a unibody design, with a two-tone back, and come in both black and white. And it turns out, all of the leaked internals fit perfectly into the leaked outer casing.
There likely won’t be any significant use of liquid metal in the next iPhone but Apple is indeed working with a company named Liquidmetal Technologies and the two firms extended their contract by two years this summer.
Talk that Apple would change the iPhone’s dock connector for the first time since launching the iPhone in 2007 began this summer. Pictures have surfaced since then and the new piece looks about half as small as the current dock connector. This might just be true!
The latest reports are saying it’ll be called a Lightning connector, and look basically the same as all the leaks we’ve seen.
A few days ago a report said the iPhone will definitely get LTE connectivity, the fastest type of cellular Internet speeds available. Of course, it won’t be definite until Apple says so, but we expect this to be true too.
We all know that the next iPhone will come with iOS 6. And we’ve learned a good deal about Apple’s next mobile OS, too, since it was announced at WWDC in June. It will feature Apple’s own mapping system, as well as some pretty cool new features like Passbook.
Given the design of the invite which hid “5” in the shadows of “12”, the next iPhone is almost certainly going to be branded as the “iPhone 5”.

Stuffing a full frame sensor in a compact digital camera, Sony is not really targeting its mass users with its new RX1 camera. The camera has the same full frame 24 MP sensor seen in the A99 and the NEX VG900 announced today, but comes with a 35mm Zeiss f/2.0 fixed prime lens.
The camera is missing a viewfinder but has an impressive 3-inch 1,229k dot LCD, featuring VGA resolution with RGB plus white coloring. For those who simply cannot do without a viewfinder a XGA OLED viewfinder ($600)can be added for the extra buck.

The extraordinary new Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-RX1 digital camera packs an advanced 35mm full-frame 24.3 MP Exmor® CMOS sensor and exceptionally Carl Zeiss T*t 35mm f/2.0 fixed lens into a highly portable, lightweight camera body. The new camera’s unified lens and body design allows performance that few interchangeable lenses can match. The Carl Zeiss lens not only delivers spectacular image quality all the way to the edges of each frame, it incorporates a near-silent in-lens shutter and is far more compact than comparable lenses of interchangeable design. The camera also features full manual control options and an intuitive user interface, making it easy for photographers to adjust all settings quickly and easily.
The 35mm full-frame sensor inside the RX1 camera more than doubles the area of APS-C sensors commonly found in much bulkier DSLR cameras, allowing it to take in significantly more light while capturing content. With an effective resolution of 24.3 megapixels, it’s capable of resolving the finest image details and most subtle textures for rich color reproduction and an impressively broad dynamic range.
The large sensor size also boosts the camera’s sensitivity range to a generous ISO 100 – 25600, with the option to shoot as low as ISO 50 in expanded sensitivity mode. Similarly, ISO settings as high as 102400 can be achieved using Multi Frame Noise Reduction. This allows the camera to capture natural, low noise handheld images in near-dark conditions without needing flash.
The fast, bright Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm lens is a versatile choice for portraits, street photography and everyday shooting. This premium lens features newly designed optics including an Advanced Aspherical (AA) glass element, which contributes to the camera’s extremely compact dimensions without sacrificing optical performance.
The lens’ wide F2 maximum, 9-bladed circular aperture enable beautiful background defocus (‘bokeh’) effects to rival or exceed professional-class DSLR camera lenses. A memory recall (MR) mode is accessible via the mode dial so photographers can store and instantly recall up to three sets of camera settings.

Sony alongside the new NEX VG30 and VG900 has announced a full frame image camera, dubbed The Alpha A99, a flagship priced at $2,800 or about Rs 1.5 lac. The company is targeting both professional photographers and leading filmmakers, with plenty of features that will appeal to both.
The glory all comes from a all-new 24.3-megapixel Exmor sensor, with an increased photodiode area for overly impressive low light quality images(up to ISO 102,400). The camera also features what Sony’s calling the “world’s first dual-AF system,” which includes two different phase-detect AF systems, including the same 19-point system on the A77, plus an additional 102 points on the imager itself.

The successor to Sony’s flagship ?900 DSLR, the ?99 camera features a brand new 24.3 MP full-frame image sensor, a unique dual phase-detect AF system and a host of other innovative technologies that work together to deliver the best image and full HD video quality in the history of Sony’s acclaimed line of ? cameras.

New Levels of Imaging Performance and Response
The flagship ?99 model combines its new 24.3 effective megapixel Exmor® CMOS sensor with a highly advanced BIONZ image processing engine, delivering unprecedented levels of performance in both still and video shooting.
The full frame sensor is enhanced by a newly-developed separate multi-segment optional low-pass filter, increasing its resolving power. Assisted by an all-new front-end LSI, the BIONZ engine can process massive amounts of image signal data from the sensor at very high speeds. Together with a powerful new area-specific noise reduction (NR) algorithm, it allows to the camera to achieve 14-bit RAW output, rich gradation and low noise.
The evolved BIONZ processor also gives the ?99 model a maximum sensitivity range (in expanded sensitivity mode) as wide as ISO50 – 25600 – a range of nine stops. Sony has upped the camcorder game by announcing an upgrade to the NEX VG20 and a new lineup model the NEX VG900. The VG900 has a 24.3-megapixel full-frame sensor to a camcorder form factor with shallow depth-of-field and improved low-light sensitivity. The body of the camcorder is compatible with E-mount lenses, can shoot 14bit RAW images. The camcorder suited for high-end video production, where it offers 1080p recording at 24 or 60 frames-per-second through a sensor that features 45 times the area of a conventional camcorder.
Also announced the NEX-VG30 is a successor to the VG20 has a 16.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. Both the NEX VG30 and VG900 include 270-degree swivel 921k-dot touch-enabled TruBlack LCDs and XGA OLED eye-level electronic viewfinders, along with Sony’s new Multi Interface Shoe and a standard shoe mount, which enables XLR microphone inputs through an optional accessory.
The new Zoom adjustment on the cameras will allow for the powered zoom lens to work flawlessly with both of the models and will also alow fror cropping digital zoom on the VG900 since it has a full frame sensor. Priced at $3,299 without a lens, just a LA-EA3 mount adapter is included, The NEX VG900 seems like an expensive proposition.
The VG30, will retail for $1,800 body only, or $2,700 when paired with Sony’s new 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS power zoom lens.
The VG900 is slated to ship beginning in late October, while the VG30 will hit stores in November.

Sony has been pretty open about its support for the Android enthusiast community, and it seems that extends to teardowns of their own devices.
In its latest blog post, a Sony engineer takes apart and puts back together an upcoming Xperia Tablet S, the successor to the popular 9.4-inch Tablet S released last year. While the two devices bear a more-than-passing resemblance to one another, the new one is a wholly different beast inside, and is considerably thinner to boot. With a quad-core Tegra 3 processor to power the tablet, the only disappointing aspect is the lack of a screen resolution upgrade; the Xperia Tablet S sports an underwhelming 1280×800 TFT display.
The post goes into great detail about the improvements made to the overall design including a longer, thinner 6000mAh battery cell and a carbon fiber cooling system. It’s also splash-proof, which means that Sony uses a lot of adhesive to keep the front and back pieces together.

Last month it was revealed that the official YouTube app would not make an appearance in Apple’s upcoming release of iOS 6. The reason given was because Google’s “license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended.” Google said that a new YouTube app was in the works and today they’ve delivered on their promise and launched version 1.0.1.3063 – this is currently available for iPhone and iPod Touch users.
If you have an iPad, an “optimized version” of the app will be released “in the coming months.”

A Turkish hacker’s group called ‘Turkish Ajan Hacker Group’ has hacked the Indian website of leading pizza company Domino’s. The company’s India operations is handled by its franchise Jubilant FoodWorks. The news was first reported by Cyberwarnews.
Post hacking the site, the Group leaked details of around 37,000 accounts on Pastebin.com. These included names, contact details (phone numbers, email id’s, city details) as well as passwords. According to Business Standard, the hackers used the SQL injection method and remote file inclusion for getting the data.
However, the website is still operational and is still allowing users to place orders.
We went hands on with the HMZ T2 at IFA 2012, but not a lot of details were known of what the specs or pricing of the particular unit will be.
