Now here are the low key elements, it works on the same old processor you saw on the A75 and has a 3 MP and a 0.3 MP cameras but assumed to be fixed focus. Now the battery is also a sizable 1300 mAh one but does it justify the dual sim capabilities?.
Price is expected to be under the Rupees 10,000 mark , with the device available as early as next week.
Ah the infamous Asus PadFone, shown off last year to tease us with its dual functionality, the company has finally introduced the device at the MWC 2012. The phone part of this hybrid has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display, Snapdragon’s new dual-core S4 chip, an Adreno 225 GPU, Ice Cream Sandwich and an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and f/2.2, with autofocus.
The phone has 16-64 Gb capacity options plus MicroSD (32 GB) , Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, GPS, A-GPS, a gyroscope, 1,520mAh battery and a compass. The phone has a thin profile with only 9.2mm thickness.
But the best feature of the PadFone is its ability to slide into a tablet housing ( a 10 inch tablet housing), and not only operate as a full fledged tablet but also charge in there. The Tablet part of the PadFone will have its own standalone battery pack and a much higher resolution, did we mention a S-Pen esque stylus will also be included.
You can also optionally opt in for a Keyboard dock. The PadFone will start shipping in April 2012 (finally!) , no information on pricing.
Mobile network carrier Orange will be the first to offer an Intel Medfield powered Android phone to Europe. Codenamed Santa Clara, the 4-inch 600 x 1024 display device will release this summer. The device has an impressive 8-megapixel camera capable of 1080p video and burst capture of up to 10 shots within a second.
The “Santa Clara” (not final name) runs on Intel’s Atom Z2460 processor, clocked at 1.6GHz. Running on Android 2.3 with a promised ICS update, from Orange. HSPA speeds of 21.1Mbps down and 5.6Mbps up, and an MHL port that also has HDMI out.
Other things for Europe include NFC and Orange voice features and gesture navigation, the talk time is touted at 8 hours of 3g and 14 days of standby, wow.
Samsung has added yet another device to their Android lineup this year, the 4.2-inch WVGA (480 x 800) screen touting Galaxy S Player , runs Gingerbread 2.3 and has dual cameras 2Mp + VGA. It also has Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and WiFI 802.11 b/g/n along with a 1,500mAh battery. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit comes free with the device and is pre-installed.
Two Variants of 8GB and 16GB wifi only along with 32GB MicroSD expandability, priced under the 250$ mark for the basic version, expect it to become available starting next months.
Skype has announced and released the Beta version of their App for Windows Phone devices running 7.5 and above. This early version will allow free audio and video calls over WiFi or 3G, alongside those any-number paid-for calls.

Nokia has broken every possible camera record, with its new Nokia 808 PureView Smartphone. The new 4 inch 360 x 640 (nHD) device runs a new featured version of Belle OS on a 1.3GHz single-core chip and 512MB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. But, all these things are not what make the purview 808 special, its actually the camera technology. The PureView 808 is capable of capturing images at a whopping 41 Megapixels and 34-megapixels for 16:9 images, the camera also shoots 1080p with continuous autofocus.
The technology means that taking typically sized shots (say, 5 megapixels) the camera can use oversampling to combine up to seven pixels into one “pure” pixel, eliminating the visual noise found on other mobile phone cameras. On top of that, you can zoom in up to 3X without losing any of the details in your shot – and there’s no artificially created pixels in your picture, either.

Wow, Sammy has just announced a new Tablet at MWC 2012, and its a large size Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is an S-Pen equipped version of the similar Galaxy Tab announced earlier. The Tablet will run on TouchWiz customized version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich and has a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM. Unfortunately you cannot use the phone features on the Note 10.1, but it does have a sim card slot capable of HSPA+. Standard WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 are also in the mix, with the cameras from the original Tab, 3-megapixel rear and 2 Mp front. The Tab also has the newer higher res display – 1280 x 800px WXGA.
Of course you can expect S-pen specific applications including the S-Memo and picture editing, Adobe’s recently announce Photoshop Touch and Ideas also come preinstalled and operate fully with the S-Pen. The new Note 10.1 will come with both GPS and Glonass, along with enterprise compatible Exchange ActiveSync, on-device encryption, Juniper Junos Pulse and Cisco VPNs.

Sony Mobile Communications is aiming high to get back into the Mobile business, with the new Xperia P, this new device from Sony’s arsenal is the second phone to be announced after the SE breakup. The Xperia P will join the Xperia U in Q2 2012 release cycle for Sony’s Debut handsets.
The new Xperia P features a sleek aluminum unibody shell with a beautiful 4-inch “WhiteMagic” display. There we go, just like that Sony Mobile Communications has debuted their first solo smartphone at the MWC 2012. The device has a 3.5-inch bravia engine Reality Display, a 1GHz dual-core processor and five megapixel camera. Sony is claiming a 6.5 hours of talk time on their debutant, which seems like good battery promise. The Xperia U will come with Android 2.3 but will also be upgraded to ICS soon afterwards.
The device is expected to be available in Q2 2012 , no release cycle or price point is available yet. Either way the device is a good looking addition from Sony into the Android world.

HTC has announced their new One Series lineup at the Mobile World Congress 2012 at Barcelona, Spain. To add on to this line up a new smartphone dubbed the One V has also been announced. HTC has announced a new flagship smartphone for their 2012 line of One Series. The new HTC One X aka “Endeavour” is a unibody device machined from white polycarbonate that uses Gorilla Glass for a 4.7-inch 1280×720 px Super LCD 2 display. The device will use NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for the Global edition and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core for the US LTE version.
Memory on the ONE X is 1GB DDR2 and 32GB of storage with about 26GB available to the user. HTC has also tied up with Dropbox to give users an additional 25 GB of cloud storage free for 2 years. The One X will be quad-band GSM and quad-band 42Mbps HSPA+ plus AWS frequency connectivity.
SInce its HTC’s One series flagship you can expect a 8MP f/2.0 camera with HTC’s ImageChip silicon for amazingly crisp pictures even in low light. MWC 2012 : HTC Has announced its unified one brand of Smartphones for it next-gen Android lineup. With at least four smartphones already announced for the next quarter HTC expects to regain the high profit streams that t lost out in the previous quarter. The One brand devices will all primarily feature three things excellent imaging, integrated Beats audio and industrial design. HTC has already tied up with 130 carriers worldwide to carry their new lineup of smartphones, as well as over a 1000 distribution partners in countries like India.
Looks like information on the, due to be released today, Nokia Windows Phone Lumia 610 has been outed. The phones has a substantially lower end spec lineup but the price seems to be the attractive aspect of the device. Priced at a mere Rs. 11,000, the device is expected to change Nokia’s bad outlook in recent times and may also give a heavy boost to Windows Phone as an OS. The Lumia 610 will feature a 3.2-inch display and a 3 MP camera. It will also run Windows Phone Tango, running on just 256MB RAM.
The Phone is expected to be officially launched within the next 24 hours along with the global edition of Lumia 900 flagship smartphone from Nokia.
