The trademark for the tablet was filed by Samsung Electronics on June 13, 2019 with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the name “Tab Active Pro”. The Class 9 trademark bears the description ‘tablet computers and portable computers’. The company that filed the trademark has been often linked with Samsung. For instance, the same company filed a patent for the name “Dynamic AMOLED display” for the Galaxy S10 lineup

Noteworthy, there is no inclusion of the name “Galaxy” anywhere in the trademark. However, at the time of launch, the company is likely to incorporate the “Galaxy” prefix with the tablet’s name. Its predecessor i.e. Galaxy Tab Active 2 features IP68 water and dust resistance and is MIL-STD-810G compliant. It runs on the Exynos 7870 chipset, which comprises of an octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex A53 CPU. It was bundled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with expansion support via microSD (up to 256GB). The upcoming Galaxy Tab, however, is expected to run on an upgraded Samsung chipset and pack updated features for 2019.
