Samsung Says First Gold S4 Was Sold Even Before The Gold iPhone Was Announced

Apple released its two new iPhone’s on 10th September 2013, iPhone 5c and 5s. iPhone 5s was launched with the new color ‘gold’ and since then, we have seen leaks for HTC phones going Gold but in the recent news we saw Samsung Galaxy S4 in gold color.

On Friday, Samsung posted to the company’s blog, Samsung indirectly acknowledged the popularity of Apple’s new gold iPhone 5S by posting a gallery where they showed all the phones launched in gold color by them(including Gold S4 ). The blog said:

“Everybody loves gold, which is why we sometimes make phones in that color. (Or sometimes even with actual gold for the body!) See below to check out some of the phones we’ve released in gold in the past”

The blog post was likely crafted in response to voices on social media channels like Twitter that took Samsung to task for claiming (indirectly) earlier in the week that it had a gold smartphone on the market before the iPhone.

  • Here is a Roundup of Apple’s 10th September iPhone 5C and 5S Event

Despite many expectations, every bit of information from the past leaks came true as Apple took stage on Tuesday 10th September to launch two new iPhones the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. One handset which is replaces the existing iPhone 5 and one which supersedes it.

The iPhone 5c which was expected to be a cheap iPhone, never really made it to that mark, basically its a complete change of play by Apple. It definitely looks cheap, thats thanks to the extended use of shiny/glossy plastic polycarbonate composite. But it also is a phone intended to replace the iPhone 5, a phone which was made out of premium aluminum and glass has been replaced by a phone made of plastic with the exact same specs and the exact same price. Sure it was intended to be cheap, a cheap move by Apple.

    iphone 5s
    iPhone 5c

One thing it does do however, is play with the colors, opening the market to a frenzy of color options which have been limited to the two from the origin of the iPhone. The iPhone 5c retains the retina display and A6 chipset, along with the same 8 MP camera and lightning connector. It does add an upgraded FaceTime HD front camera for High definition FaceTime and VOIP calls.

The iPhone 5s however, is a whole new story. The existing shell of the iPhone 5 has been upgraded with a few new exciting enhancements in hardware, Apple calls the iPhone 5 “the most forward thinking phone ever”.

    hero_start__keyframe

The iPhone 5s adds a new A7 architecture which adds new capabilities to the device. In retrospect, the iPhone 5 is half as fast and has half as powerful graphics in comparison to the new iPhone 5s. You also get a new camera system, that increases the size of pixels and has a new element lens, for brighter and more accurate images. The new iPhone 5s will also feature a champagne gold color, which seems to have created a buzz on the twitter feeds despite it leaking out almost 6 months ago. The new iPhone 5s also has the worlds first desktop level 64 bit architecture, making life for developers difficult initially, but opening them up to a whole new world or options for future apps.

[pullquote_left]The Touch ID may as well be the new revolution for the mobile industry[/pullquote_left]

What is a mobile industry first is the new Touch ID sensor, a fingerprint sensor on a smartphone is a new one alright. It opens up a whole new array of possibilities, even though Apple has not yet opened it up to developers.

The Touch ID replaces the lock code requirements and also password requirements for you iPhone, hopefully you can also use it to access the iPhone keychain to auto-magically enter passwords.

Apple also announced that iOS 7 will be officially available post September 18th 2013 for all those supported devices.

    iOS-7

The iPhone 5C will be available fro Pre Order on September 13th whereas the iPhone 5S will go on Preorder September 20th 2013. starting $549 and $649 for the 16 GB unlocked variants.

  • Apple iPhone 5s vs iPhone 5c

Apple just brought all the rumors to an end by launching two new iPhones, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c. The iPhone 5c is a poly-carbonate build phone with various color options like white, pink, yellow, blue and green, the phone has all the same features as the previous iPhone 5 which has now been discontinued. On the other hand the iPhone 5s has a typical iPhone 5 build that uses aluminium and glass, the 5s is available in three colors: silver, space gray and gold, this phone comes up with some upgraded features.

  • Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C Launched : Pre-Order Starting 13th

    Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C Launched : Pre-Order Starting 13th

As expected, Apple has unveiled two new iPhones today, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

The widely-leaked phones speak to two different markets, with the more expensive 5S maintaining the same premium build, internal specs and price as the former iPhone 5, while the 5C enters the market as a so-called lower-cost variant.

First, the iPhone 5C. It will be available in green, yellow, blue, white and red. Apple claims that there are no seams or joints in the device — it is made with a single piece of “hard-coated” polycarbonate.

    iphone 5s

It has a 4-inch display with the same 1136×640 pixel resolution as the iPhone 5. It also has the same A6 chip and 1GB of RAM of the iPhone 5. There’s a new HD FaceTime camera on the front and an 8MP iSight camera on the back with BSI, IR filter and 5-element lens. Looks to be the same one as the iPhone 5, too.

    iphone 5s

It will also have full LTE connectivity and dual-band WiFi along with Bluetooth 4.0.

The company is touting the iPhone 5C as an introductory phone for many users, and the device will come with a variety of cases for $29 each.

    iphone 5s

The second phone on the docket today is the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5S has a 4-inch 1136×640 pixel IPS display, identical in size and resolution to the current iPhone 5. What’s different is tantamount to the typical evolution of an iPhone: a faster processor, improved camera, colour additions and, yes, a fingerprint scanner.

According to Apple, it’s the “most forward-thinking phone we’ve ever created.” It comes in a new gold colour, in addition to the existing white and slate.

Probably the most important improvement is the A7 chip, a 64-bit SoC that’s “the first ever of its kind in a smartphone.” It has over one billion transistors and a modern instruction set — this is truly a computer, just shrunk to a 102mm squared die size.

    hero_start__keyframe

While apps will have to be re-engineered to support the new instruction sets, it opens up a number of possibilities for mobile computing (can’t wait to see what the A7X is capable of in the new iPad this fall).

To the layman, it means that the A7 CPU and GPU are twice as fast as the iPhone 5?s A6. The new GPU supports OpenGL 3.0, which is one of the newest programming frameworks for 3D games (which also came recently to Android 4.3).

There’s also something called the M7, a chip that works alongside the A7 to measure motion data, accelerometer, gyroscope and compass. It works with the newest generation of health and fitness apps such as Nike+ Move, to track all of your movement. This works instead of a Fitbit.

    ios_hero

The iPhone 5S promises 10 hours of battery life from LTE browsing and 3G talk time, along with 40 hours of music playback and a staggering 250 hours of standby. Similar to last year’s model.

    forward_hero_mba_11

The new camera is also improved over the former model, with a wider f/2.2 aperture and bigger pixels despite the 8MP resolution. This lets in more light — a 15% larger active sensor area — which automatically makes better photos from the same lighting scenarios. There’s also a digital form of image stabilization, and a new burst mode at up to 10fps. The software analyzes multi-photo series and chooses the best one. This is similar to Best Shot from the HTC One and Galaxy S4. It also has dual flash.

The camera support 120fps slow motion (slo-mo) as well at 720p, and the built-in editor can speed up or slow down certain parts of the video for a great effect.

Perhaps the most important addition to the device is a digital fingerprint scanner. That ring around the mechanical home button indicates when it’s being used. Called Touch ID, “it reads your fingerprint at an entirely new level,” with 500ppi resolution and 360 degree readability.

    smart_hero_mba_11

The use cases are many, and Apple says Touch ID has been deeply integrated into iOS 7. It allows you to authenticate purchases using just a slight depression of the home button. There is a sapphire crystal lens that takes a photo of a user’s fingerprint and analyzes it for consistency.

In Apple tradition, Touch ID can be used by multiple people, and sensitive information is not stored on Apple’s servers at all. All data is encrypted, too.

Indian pricing has not been revealed yet but the US price points are the same as the iPhone 5 before it. Pre-order for the iPhone 5C will begin on the 13th while the iPhone 5S can be booked starting from the 20th.

  • iPhone 5s has a Fingerprint Sensor : TouchID : Here is what it does

iPhone 5s has a Fingerprint Sensor : TouchID : Here is what it does

The iPhone 5s is a beefed up on steroids version of the iPhone 5, with a new A7 SOC and new hardware on the inside the iPhone 5s is twice as fast and has 56 times as fast graphics. A new camera system with a 5 element system and a new f2.2 lens along with a new flash technology refine its already leading optics. But possibiy the biggest change on the iPhone 5s is the industry first fingerprint sensor dubbed “TouchID”.

A capacitive touch glass pasted on top of the home button makes for a new technology (touchID): 170 microns in thickness with 500 ppi resolution, it reads the fingerprint of the owner to unlock the phone.

But thats not where it stops : The high resolution image of the fingerprint is “encrypted and stored securely in the Secure Enclave inside the A7 chip” after which is can be used to authorize several things.

Examples include a singe finger swipe to buy apps or authorize buying apps, in-app purchase authorizations and even purchases within apps like Amazon or eBay would make for a much better payment system. The sensor uses a laser cut sapphire crystal cover; it retains a tactile input for those wary of the sensor wearing down after lengthy use.

Apple has dubbed the iPhone 5s as the most secure smartphone yet thanks to “touchID”, with a great play for marketing, making it a boon to the enterprise industry.

How useful do you think a fingerprint sensor will be ? And what do you think it should be really used for , let us know below.

  • Apple iPhone 5s User Guide Allegedly leaks, Fingerprint sensor called Touch ID

Apple iPhone 5s User Guide Allegedly leaks, Fingerprint sensor called Touch ID

With Apple’s iPhone event a mere hours away, a new leak showing off the user guide for the supposed “next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5s” has surfaced. 9to5Mac reports that the “alleged” leaked document from Nowhereelse.fr is the inlay “quick user guide” that all iPhone owners are accustomed to, which shows that the home button is also a Touch ID sensor aka fingerprint reader.

    manuel-iphone-5s

To unlock the iPhone with the fingerprint reader, an iPhone 5S user simply clicks and holds their finger/thumb down on the sensor for a few seconds. It is unlikely that the sensor login and passcode could be used in tandem. There will be a preference in the iPhone’s Settings app to disable the sensor. – says 9to5Mac

Touch ID as a name could also mean that the sensor will only act as an unlock security and not as a app launcher or shortcut initiator, as it would on a laptop. Also to note is that Apple will be selling the phones with color matched wallpapers out of the box as the would on the iPhone 5C, whose packaging and box was leaked last week.

  • Alleged iPhone 5S Retail Packaging Leaks, Hints At Fingerprint Sensor

Alleged iPhone 5S Retail Packaging Leaks, Hints At Fingerprint Sensor

When potential packaging of the iPhone 5C leaked online last week it looked authentic. These pictures of what is believed to be the retail packaging for the upcoming iPhone 5S are definitely questionable. Who knows what camera the photos were captured with as they are all incredibly blurry – almost sore to look at – which leads us to believe they’re fake.

    iphone 5s

However, the box has a similar design to previous iPhones and clearly shows and iPhone with iOS 7, plus the rumoured 5S branding. In addition, the most notable change is to the home button with a silver ring – this addition could be the heavily rumoured fingerprint sensor.

Fox News anchor Clayton Morris previously claimed that the upcoming iPhone 5S would “have a silver ring around it” in an interview last month, while also noting the button is convex to make way for an embedded fingerprint sensor.

Regardless of what Apple decides to unveil, iGyaan will be in covering the iPhone 5S / iPhone 5C launch event on the 10th at 10AM PT — so tune in on the day of the event so you can follow our live blog for every piece of news as it happens.

iOS 7 To Be Launched On September 10

September 10 is the date we’re currently marking in the diaries for the iPhone 5S and 5C reveal, and that may have just been reinforced by a claim that we’ll see the release of iOS 7 that very same day.

According to an email sent to developers from Nuance, the company behind Siri, the general availability date for iOS 7 is set for September 10.

The Next Web contributing writer Owen Williams posted the below email from Nuance to his personal blog, it reads:

As you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10th.

The NDEV Program has pre-qualified that SpeechKit 1.4.5 works properly on iOS 7, but we encourage you to conduct own testing to ensure that when the upgrade happens, your Nuance speech services continue to work seamlessly.

It asked developers using its API to conduct testing to ensure that their services work on iOS 7 even though its SpeechKit 1.4.5 is pre-qualified to work properly on iOS 7. Nuance is the voice recognition focused company which has also worked on Siri, Apple’s intelligent voice assistant.

Historically, Apple has released iOS Golden Master versions to developers on the same day as the announcement of new iPhones, giving developers time to test their apps with the final version of the new iOS before its release it to the general public a couple of days before the launch of the new iPhone.

  • New Images Of Alleged Gold iPhone 5S Leak

New Images Of Alleged Gold iPhone 5S Leak

Last week a couple of images leaked out possibly revealing that Apple was creating a new gold or rather champagne coloured iPhone 5S smartphone and now, adding additional weight to the rumour more images from an entirely different source have leaked out.

    iPhone 5s

The images were posted on Japanese tech site ASCII and show a similar design to the iPhone 5. All the buttons are in the same location as the iPhone 5. Everything from the rear antenna windows to the highly polished chamfered edges are identical.

The major difference when compared to the earlier leak is that the Apple logo is now present, but still missing the famous ‘Designed in California. Assembled in China’ label.

Some features the new iPhone 5S is rumoured to be equipped with are a finger print scanner for extra security and a dual LED flash equipped camera for extra light when required in low light conditions.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 5S and low-cost and colourful iPhone 5C on September 10th. Speculation around the web is that we’ll see both become widely available by the end of September – potentially September 20th. In addition, Apple’s new iOS 7 software will be given a firm release date.

  • Images Of Rumoured Gold iPhone 5S Leak, May Come With 128GB Storage

Images Of Rumoured Gold iPhone 5S Leak, May Come With 128GB Storage

Rumours have been swirling over the past few days that Apple plans to introduce a third color option with the launch of the iPhone 5S. Now, images of what are claimed to be the casing from Apple’s next-generation smartphone in gold have been published by French blog MacBoutic. While the authenticity of the device pictured is unknown, the casing and internal markings do jibe with earlier leaks that were believed to be authentic.

It appears that the new iPhone 5S will launch along with a 128GB variant similar to the iPad that was released back in February. The report comes from a well-known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Security, who has been quite accurate when it comes to rumors regarding unreleased Apple products.

    iPhone 5s

Kuo has made a number of predictions about the upcoming iPhone 5S, with one them being that it’ll share the same design as its predecessor. The alleged iPhone 5S is expected to feature Apple’s latest A7 SoC with 1Gb LPDDR3 RAM and an improved camera, along with various other enhancements and features. A number of rumours also suggest the upcoming iPhone 5S with sport a 12-13MP camera with dual-LED flash.

According to Kuo, the new A7 processor will not only be faster than the earlier version, but it will offer 20% greater efficiency.

Apple is rumoured to reveal the new iPhone 5S on September 10. The new iPhone is rumoured to feature a sapphire-covered home button with a fingerprint sensor and will of course run the new iOS 7.

  • iOS 7 Beta Code Confirms Fingerprint Sensor Feature For Next iPhone

iOS 7 Beta Code Confirms Fingerprint Sensor Feature For Next iPhone

In case you were wondering whether or not the next-generation iPhone will have that rumored fingerprint sensor, look no further than the latest iOS 7 beta.

A folder dubbed “BiometricKitUI” has been discovered in iOS 7 Beta 4 by Hamza Sood (and made public by 9to5mac) and, while the folder bears enough evidence of the fingerprint sensor in and of itself, the contents provide even more clues regarding the biometric capabilities of Apple’s next iPhones.

    fingerprint sensor

Following its 2012 acquisition of mobile security firm AuthenTec, which specialized in fingerprint sensors, Apple has been rumored to be looking to incorporate its technology into its future products.

The folder references a biometric user interface, complete with descriptions of a setup process that includes images of a colour-changing fingerprint and a person holding an iPhone with their thumb on the Home button.

Earlier this month Apple was granted a patent for an in-display fingerprint sensor which would allow for biometric functionality while negating the need for a separate sensor panel.

Details on the names for the new iPhone models have been scarce until earlier this week when a new photo leaked showing the packaging for a device called the iPhone 5C. This could be the name for the low-cost model scheduled to come out this fall.

But it’s potentially even more interesting than that. As Bulgarian designer/developer Pavel Simeonov just tweeted, “Fingerprint sensor in iPhone 5S is much more than a gimmick. This + iCloud keychain = end of passwords.” So this is not just about security, but also convenience. If iCloud keychain converts and safeguards all of your passwords that you—and only you—can access via your iPhone, then Apple will have scored a tremendous usability coup that potentially makes its phone the key to your life—quite literally.
