OnePlus 7 In Gradient Colours Surfaces Online

OnePlus is a considerably new company in contrast to competitors like Samsung and Apple. Nevertheless, the company has made a lasting mark in the heavily crowded smartphone industry. It is soon expected to launch the OnePlus 7 which will succeed the OnePlus 6T from the yesteryear. The upcoming smartphone is believed to be significantly different both in terms of design and features in comparison to its predecessor. The device has previously been subjected to several leaks which revealed its key specifications and price. A fresh leak claims that the company will launch its next flagship with new gradient coloured back panels.

OnePlus 7 Design And New Gradient Panels

The latest leak of the OnePlus 7 reveals a smartphone with a popup selfie camera which is reminiscent of the Vivo V15 Pro. The right side of the smartphone houses the power button and the sound profile slider while its left side houses the volume rockers. Surprisingly, the upcoming device features triple rear cameras which have been bumped up from two on its predecessor.

Noteworthy, the rear panel of the OnePlus 7 which is assumed to be made out of glass has an attractive look with gradient finishes. The leaked images show three different coloured gradient finishes which include yellow, purple and cyan. The purple coloured gradient looks similar to the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple, while the two other colours are brand new. The probability of OnePlus 7 being offered in these gradient colours is quite high.

Not long ago, a YouTuber named Arun Maini got a chance to visit the OnePlus factory in China from where he revealed several intriguing facts. He shared a video in which he showcased a whole bunch of prototype glass panels with gradient finish for OnePlus smartphones which never made their way into the production handsets. Both the newly leaked renders and the previously shared video can be taken as a serious indication that OnePlus is likely to launch its upcoming flagships in the aforementioned gradient panels other than the traditional colours.

OnePlus 7 Listed Online Confirming Price & Specifications

OnePlus is expected to launch its newest flagship, the OnePlus 7 in a few months. The smartphone is expected to be a significant change over its predecessor, the OnePlus 6T in terms of design and specifications. A fresh listing on Chinese E-commerce website Gizbot has leaked the price and specifications of the upcoming device. This news arrives after the renders of the OnePlus 7 were leaked online a few days ago.

    OnePlus 7 Specifications

According to the listing, the OnePlus 7 has a glass on the back and the front with minimal bezels around the display. It has a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. Unlike its predecessor, the upcoming device does not have a notch and it rather has a pop-up selfie camera like the Vivo V15 Pro. The smartphone has an in-display fingerprint scanner which has been carried forward from the OnePlus 6T.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 7 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC which is manufactured using 7nm fabrication process. The chipset consists of an Octa-core CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. In terms of optics, the smartphone has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, 20MP secondary sensor, and a third 5MP sensor. For selfies, the device has a 16MP camera hidden in the pop-up mechanism on the top of the device. For memory and storage, the OnePlus 7 will be available in the following variants:

    • 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM
    • 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM
    • 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM

The OnePlus 7 will be powered by a 4000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. It will run on the company’s OxygenOS 9 which is built on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. Although the listing has leaked most of the upcoming smartphone’s specifications, we will still have to wait for the company to confirm them aforementioned details.

    Price & Launch

The OnePlus 7 is expected to launch in the month of June and will be available for sale soon after. According to the listing, the smartphone will be priced starting US$ 569 (Rs. 40,000). The company is known for increasing the price of its devices with each iteration, so the news of a price hike might not arrive as a shock to the prospective buyers.

OnePlus 7 Leaks Show Pop-Up Selfie Camera, Triple Rear Camera

Treading on the success path of the OnePlus 6 and 6T, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch the OnePlus 7 in the second quarter of 2019. The device will supposedly launch beside a 5G OnePlus smartphone, the likes of which were unveiled at the MWC 2019. Fresh leaks suggest that the OnePlus 7 will sport a pop-up selfie camera, similar to the one present in Vivo Nex (which was released last year).

    Leaks: Camera & Display

As per the leaks, the OnePlus 7 features a bezel-less 6.5 inch display, which can be an Optic AMOLED panel similar to the one in OnePlus 6T. The screen tapers towards the edges, with no visible notch or ‘punch hole’. As mentioned before, a motorized selfie camera pops up from an enclosure on top of the smartphone. The specifications of the selfie shooter, however, are not available as of now.

The leaked renders also show a triple rear camera setup. The three sensors are aligned vertically, with the LED flash placed just below the cameras. The predecessor of the OnePlus 7 had a dual camera module, which was housed in a 16 MP+20 MP configuration. It is possible that the third camera sensor being introduced in the OnePlus 7 is a ToF (Time of flight) sensor, which is seen on smartphones from both Oppo and Vivo.

    Leaks: Design

The left edge of the smartphone has the volume rockers, whereas the right side accommodates the power button and the alert slider. No rear fingerprint sensor was spotted in the leaks, so this may hint towards the fact that the OnePlus 7 may support a similar in display fingerprint scanner to the OnePlus 6T. Furthermore, no 3.5 mm headphone jack is spotted in the images, but there is nothing surprising about that since the previous iteration lacked the same. A standard USB Type C port is present on the device, right next to the speaker and the microphone.

The OnePlus 7 was previously leaked on March 1, which led to the reveal of the smartphone’s front panel. The next ‘flagship killer’ is expected to have top-of-the-line specifications. Since the 5G prototype at the MWC 2019 featured the Snapdragon 855, the same chipset is presumed to be seen in the OnePlus 7. A launch date for the device is still pending, but as mentioned before, OnePlus has a six-month refresh cycle for releasing new smartphones. Hence, the device may be slated to launch in Q2 of this year.

  • OnePlus 7 Won’t Support Wireless Charging, Confirms Company

OnePlus 7 Won’t Support Wireless Charging, Confirms Company

OnePlus devices are known for bringing flagship specifications for the price of a mid-range smartphone. But, to bring the costs down, the company has always skimped on providing certain features that are considered essential for a flagship smartphone nowadays. None of the devices the company has ever released features wireless charging; or has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating for water and dust resistance. A senior OnePlus executive has confirmed that the next smartphone from the company, presumably the OnePlus 7 won’t support wireless charging either.

Wireless Charging & The OnePlus 7

While many major smartphone manufacturers have started providing wireless charging in their flagship smartphones, OnePlus has confirmed it won’t be putting the feature in their next. Notably, the feature was brought into the mainstream by Nokia with the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. When Apple launched the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X with the feature in 2017, It prompted other OEMs to give the feature in their smartphones too. Xiaomi freshly launched its flagship Mi 9 with the feature, and Huawei’s current flagship the Mate 20 Pro, supports wireless charging as well.

With the advent of new fast wireless charging technologies, it was expected that OnePlus will likewise provide the feature in its smartphone this year. The company has elucidated that the technology is not ready yet and its main goal currently is to improve wired charging speeds. OnePlus also said that it is working on making the wireless charging technology faster, but it hasn’t been successful in figuring out how to do it without much heat.

The next flagship from OnePlus, assumed to be the OnePlus 7, is expected to feature top-tier specs and an entirely new design. As the company is known for putting the latest Qualcomm processor in its smartphones; OnePlus 7 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 855 SoC which is manufactured using 7nm fabrication process. The chipset has an Octa-core CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. It is also expected to feature a triple rear camera setup; an AMOLED display with minimal bezels around it; and an upgraded in-display fingerprint scanner. It may be available in two storage variants:

    • 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM
    • 10GB RAM and 256GB ROM

The next device from OnePlus is expected to be unveiled in Q2 of 2019. It will be priced higher than its predecessor, the OnePlus 6T and will be accompanied by another smartphone from the company supporting 5G, the next generation of mobile networks.

  • OnePlus 7 May Have Wireless Charging

OnePlus 7 May Have Wireless Charging

Information for the next OnePlus device is already pouring in as the launch for the OnePlus 7 comes inevitably closer.  If industry trends are to go by, OnePlus phones might soon feature wireless charging. OnePlus is slowly moving from the budget flagship tag to becoming a full fledged flagship phone and in doing so they will slowly introduce features and benefits that other competing flagships have. These include wireless charging, IP Rating and better cameras. While we know very little about the upcoming phone from OnePlus, we do know that they like to share certain technology with their sister company Oppo.

Oppo has joined the ‘Wireless Power Consortium’. The consortium is an an open, collaborative standards development group of more than 600+ company members around the globe. The members include big names such as Apple, Samsung and Huawei.

Oppo had refrained from wireless charging so far. They have not used this charging technology citing that the technology is not upto the mark since their Super VOOC technology can charge faster. OnePlus’ reasons are similar and the company has said that they will include wireless charging when they figure out a way to include fast charging technology onto wireless chargers.

Oppo joining the consortium maybe a good sign as it might mean their next flagship featuring wireless charging which might eventually lead to wireless charging supported on OnePlus devices. While the industry suspects that this technology will be available on OnePlus 7, we feel it might be added to the OnePlus 7T six months from April/May 2019.

OnePlus 7 Leaks: What We Know So Far

OnePlus is known to release a new phone every year, six months after their ‘T’ series release. So the new OnePlus 7 phone is due this March or April and we are stoked! Over the past few months there has been several leaks and speculations and in this article we list what we know about the much rumoured phone so far.

    No Notch

One of the recurring themes of the leaks so far have been the absence of a notch in the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 6 featured a full fledged notch while just six months later, the notch was turned into a water-drop one on the 6T. If this trend continues, the notch could very well be removed on the OnePlus 7.

Moreover, BBK Electronics owned Oppo and Vivo have both tried to remove the notch completely by using ingenious ways like sliding camera, sliding back panel etc. If trends are anything to go by, OnePlus has been known to borrow technology that has been well received by the market. A prime example is the in- display fingerprint sensor which first appeared on a Vivo phone and then was featured on the OnePlus 6T. The absence of the notch will mean the phone will either have a retractable camera or a sliding back.

    Optional 5G

The era of 5G is upon us and OnePlus being one of the industry leaders, won’t be far behind. The company has confirmed that a 5G model of the phone will be made available to the European market at a premium. OnePlus’ CEO also stated that the 5G model will be $200-300 more than the 4G one.

    More Than Two Rear Cameras

OnePlus 5 was the first phone in the company’s stable to feature dual rear cameras. With most high end smartphones like the Huawei Mate Pro being sold with three rear cameras, it won’t be a surprise if OnePlus goes the same route. This rumour also comes from our next point.

    Round Camera Bump

The rumour of the OnePlus 7 with more than two rear cameras comes from an image leak where OnePlus officials are seen using a phone with a round camera bump that looks quite big for two cameras. While it isn’t clear if the leaked photo is just a prototype phone or the upcoming OnePlus 7, it will be interesting to see how the company implements the three camera setup and what lenses they choose to put in it.

    Hardware Speculations

There are several specification leaks as well and some guesses based on past OnePlus device features about the hardware of the upcoming OnePlus 7. The phone will feature a Snapdragon 855 processor which is the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm. The OnePlus 6T has 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB and 256GB  but we expect more from the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7 will probably have 8GB and 10 GB RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage. The phone will also feature a larger and more efficient battery compared to the 3700 mAh battery seen on the OnePlus 6T.

  • Most Anticipated Smartphones Of 2019

    Most Anticipated Smartphones Of 2019

The year 2018 is over and it has been a great year for smartphones around the world. From the notch becoming a trend to retractable cameras and in-display fingerprint sensors. Smartphones saw a lot of innovations this year. However, for 2019 there is a lot more to be seen! Each and every company is racing towards making the experience of using a smartphone better and more immersive and that means the notch has to go. Everything from foldable displays, dual displays, in-display cameras and a lot more can be expected from the year to come. In this article, we find out what the most anticipated phones of 2019 are.

    Samsung Galaxy S10

Rumors were doing the rounds that the Galaxy S10 would have a folding display that Samsung is working on. But now it seems Samsung will have two separate products – the smartphone and the tablet that folds up to become a phone. In a recent event, the company showed us an early prototype of the folding tablet and we might see it sooner than expected.

The base model Galaxy S10 will have a flat screen design with in-display front cameras and will have an edge to edge screen. Leaks also suggest that there will be three different variants of the phone. Two with an Edge display while one without.

    Apple iPhone XI

Apple has always been tight-lipped about their new phones but the 2019 upgrades might not be too revolutionary. It has been widely reported that the iPhone will still feature the notch in its 2019 version and may finally do away with it in 2020. A recent report suggests that Apple is teaming up with Sony to build 3D cameras that will provide more security and will bring about change in the way we photograph and view things.

Sony has also revealed that their 3D camera technology will be ready in 2019 itself and will be mass produced for consumers this year. Apple iPhones are known for their security features and great cameras. the company may use this technology this year itself or save it for the next big design change in 2020.

    OnePlus 7

Oneplus devices are one of the most anticipated devices every year due to their ‘budget flagship’ tag. OnePlus 7 will most probably see it’s launch around midsummer in 2019. The device is anticipated to have a small camera hole under the screen and is rumored to have smaller bezels. The in- display fingerprint sensor stays.

We are still not sure if Oneplus 7 will finally see an IP rating and a wireless charging feature or not but a recently leaked photo shows the company’s executives holding a phone with a huge circular shaped camera design at the back that is reminiscent of the Lumia 1020.

Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 4

Users were extremely unhappy to see the hideously big notch on this years Pixel device. Google being new to the hardware space, might take a little time to understand the trends in the smartphone industry. However, we can expect great things from the Pixel 4.

Keeping to the tradition, we can expect one of the best cameras on a smartphone from the Pixel 4 as is the case with all Pixel devices. We can also expect a bigger screen and no notch or a very small notch. There have been no leaks so far regarding the next generation Pixel.

    Huawei P30

As 5G knocks on the door of technology, most manufacturers are trying their best to re-imagine their upcoming phones with 5G. Huawei is no exception and the company’s new phone, the Huawei P30, will be 5G enabled. According to some renders, the Huawei P30 might feature 4 cameras at the back with a teardrop notch in front. The phone will look sleek and have very little in terms of bezels. It is expected to feature a Kirin 985 CPU and might sport 8GB/10GB of RAM. Reverse Wireless charge is expected to come to the P30.

    Xiaomi Poco F2

Xiaomi created a revolution with the launch of the Poco F1 which featured a Snapdragon 845 on a budget smartphone. The Snapdragon 845 was always seen in expensive flagship phones and a few lower price point flagships but a budget phone with the latest CPU offering was unheard of. Xiaomi quickly garnered a lot of support for the Poco lineup and now 2019 might see the second version of the phone.

According to a Geekbench listing, Poco F2 might not sport the latest Snapdragon 855 that almost all high end phones will feature in the coming year. The Poco F2 is reported to receive very little changes compared to its predecessor. The phone will have 6GB of RAM and will be loaded with Android Pie out of the box. It will be interesting to see what price point Xiaomi places this phone at and how it is welcomed by the Poco F1 fans.

  • Upcoming OnePlus Device Leaks, Shows Off Brand New Design

Upcoming OnePlus Device Leaks, Shows Off Brand New Design

Shortly after the launch of the OnePlus 6T, the company announced that other than the next flagship, they will be launching a 5G handset, which will belong to an entirely new lineup. Now, a leak gives us the first look at the alleged OnePlus 5G device. While some may argue that this could be the OnePlus 7 as well, the chances of the same seem to be slim as the 5G phone will launch before the OnePlus 7.

The biggest change we can notice right off the bat is the brand new design language. The rear of the phone houses a circular camera module. While the image is not clear enough to see whether it sports dual or triple rear cameras, we can expect something innovative emerging from this camera setup. It is possible that OnePlus might be experimenting with the newly announced Sony sensor for mobile phones. Sony had announced a 48 MP camera sensor earlier this year. The giant camera module reminds us of the Lumia phones with the unbelievably high resolution.

The edges of the phone also seem to me more squarish when compared to the present OnePlus phones. There are two colours of the phone seen in the image, one being white and the other being red. Seeing the these are not conventional OnePlus colours, it is evident that this is a special edition phone. However, it is also highly possible that this leak could not be so credible. Either the employee who took this picture is out of a job for leaking this phone, or the company has done this on purpose, as most companies do these days.

The OnePlus 5G phone will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with the X50 5G modem. The OnePlus 7 will also run on the Snapdragon 855 but will not have the X50 modem. Instead, it will have the 4G X24 modem.

  • OnePlus 7 Will Be One Of The First Phones To Run On The New Snapdragon 855

OnePlus 7 Will Be One Of The First Phones To Run On The New Snapdragon 855

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit 2018 is already underway and a lot of big announcements have been made. On the first day, Qualcomm had announced their new Snapdragon 855 SoC, with 5G connectivity. Now, smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced that their next flagship, presumably the OnePlus 7, will be the first smartphone to be running on the Snapdragon 855 SoC. They also announced that they will be the first to bring a 5G smartphone to Europe in partnership with EE.

    The Next Flagship

Announcing that they ‘only make flagship smartphones’, they said that the Snapdragon 855 is the ‘best and only choice’ for their upcoming flagship. The company also announced their partnership with UK based carrier EE, to bring the first 5G enabled to Europe. While the announcements are really exciting for OnePlus fans, they also hint at the fact that we will be seeing a 5G OnePlus phone, powered by the 855, pretty soon. This means that the launch of the next OnePlus flagship is not too far away.

With companies like Samsung, Xiaomi and many others lined up to release phones with the new Snapdragon 855 and those with 5G support, OnePlus will have to hurry up production in order to be the first. Samsung is set to launch their 10th anniversary Galaxy S10 in the early parts of 2019. There are reports that this will be a 5G enabled phone, running on the latest 7nm SoC.

    Snapdragon 855

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is the latest flagship from the company and is manufactured using the 7 nm process. This makes it faster and more power efficient. It also features support for the X50 modem by Qualcomm, hence giving it 5G abilities. The 855 also features a fourth-generation multi-core AI engine. This will offer upto 3 times the AI performance, compared to the 845. It also features the world’s first Computer Vision Image Signal Processor for better photo and video capabilities. Along with this, it also has the new Snapdragon Elite gaming platform for advanced gaming abilities. Qualcomm also announced their new 3D Sonic Sensor, which is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for in-display fingerprint scanners.

It is also noteworthy that OnePlus was the only smartphone manufacturer who was invited to talk during the Snapdragon Summit. This, along with the fact that they will be the first to feature this new chipset, point toward the exclusivity that they enjoy from Qualcomm. What this translates for consumers, will be seen in time.

OnePlus To Launch A 5G Phone In 2019

5G, the big leap for smartphones is approaching fast and the companies are working hard to reap the early bird advantage. Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has already launched their 5G compatible Mi Mix 3. Moreover, OnePlus has already announced they will launch a 5G smartphone in the year 2019. Recently, the company revealed to Cnet Spain that the 5G OnePlus will not be the OnePlus 7. In fact, the upcoming smartphone will be part of a completely different series.

The Successor To The OnePlus 6T?

OnePlus refreshes their flagship smartphones twice a year hence, the OnePlus 7 will launch before Q2 of 2019 ends. Most notably, OnePlus 7, the next flagship will not have 5G support. The company revealed that the OnePlus 7 will remain their flagship phone. As the new 5G technology will not only bump the price of the phone, but it will also have limited carriers initially. So, the company predicts to not sell as many units of the same as the former.

The company officials explained that the 5G smartphone which is due to launch in early 2019 will be a part of a different lineup that will complement the flagship series. The smartphone is set to launch in early 2019, we feel that the company might announce it during the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2019 which will be held in Barcelona starting 25th February.
