Nintendo is one of the big names in the gaming industry. The company has been shelling out iconic gaming franchises and popular consoles for decades. Now, the hot word in the gaming world is online game streaming. The service has existed for a while now but Google’s announcement of Stadia has started a new arms race. Many giants in the electronics industry, namely Microsoft and Sony, have already started their own respective services while Nintendo previously mentioning no immediate shift towards online gaming.
According to a new report, however, Nintendo just might finally enter the online realm of gaming with Nintendo Switch Do.
Just a couple of days ago, the Nintendo Switch Lite was unveiled to the world; it was an affordable version of the original Switch minus the modularity and TV support. Now, a new trademark application hints at Nintendo planning to introduce some form of online game streaming on its Switch platforms. The report arrives after the company was seen branching out its business to Israel, where they had filed the application.
The company was seen introducing a new name, Nintendo Switch Do, on the trademark application; what it exactly is and how it works is still uncertain. What can be gathered from the description provided is that it could possibly be an “entertainment service, provide downloadable games, a portable game with LCD screen and handheld games.”
The move could arrive to make the Nintendo Switch series all the more attractive and approachable for prospective buyers. For example, Nintendo Switch Online was introduced last year as an online multiplayer gaming subscription service. It is clear the company is going to continue its Switch series for the foreseeable future and is probably introducing the Switch Do to compliment its handheld gaming console. Unfortunately, finer details are currently unavailable and only an official announcement from the company can shed some light on the matter. Stay tuned for updates.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Alien: Isolation and Dauntless Ports
Two of the new ports that have been announced caught everyone by surprise, welcomed nonetheless. Alien: Isolation, the terrifying horror game with the classic Xenomorph is arriving to Switch. It will be joined by the recent free-to-play monster-slaying title, Dauntless, that only recently received a port from PC to consoles. Both games will be available in late 2019.

Newly found reports suggest that the number of Android users switching to iOS is increasing. The Consumer Intelligence Research Partners report indicates that 26% of people who bought the iPhone 6s switched over from Android within the first month itself.
“The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launch attracted a greater percentage of Android owners compared to a year ago,” explains Mike Levin, Partner and Co-Founder of CIRP.
Statistics show that previously, Android switchers accounted for 12% of iPhone 6 buyers and 23% of iPhone 5s buyers. However, this year’s reports have exceeded both the previous stats. Here is a CIRP chart showing the percentage of iPhone buyers who are switching over from Android:
Further reports also suggest that iPhone buyers are switching to buying the larger iPhone models this year. Here’s a table:
The above table indicates that the sales for the iPhone 6s Plus accounted for 37% of sales of new iPhone models this year, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus accounted for just 25% of new model sales in 2014; and thereby proving the second point. Overall, Apple seems to be moving forward in its goal of capturing the smartphone market slowly but steadily.
