   Wow….this post is amazing. I would get a HP Pavilion DV6 laptop and extended warranty for 53,000 INR, useless there is a cash deal. My son needed a new laptop so I had to buy one for school only a month ago and did not expect the purchase of another at the moment.

   This is super gaming laptop from HP to buy. I don’t think that core i7 processor is neccessory for office use. But this is future proof laptop and assure you that you are secure at least 3 years and don’t need any kind of update. Te performance of the laptop is fabulous with this kind of processor and graphics card.

And what the hell, hp just released a newer version of dv6t in US with a 1080p screen option(this one is 720), 2gb ggr5 AMD 6770M (this one is 1gb 6770M) and a steel grey colour option…probably one more month from now, it will be there in India too :|, can’t wait that long though. i don’t think the graphics and improved screen will affect the gaming performance, but i still wanted a steel grey colour option on my lappie rather than this crappy dark umber.

    @e0ed09ce6d77f6438440f35cfe02f2da:disqus Hey, i checked out the laptop at my local HP World. To see if the issue has been corrected check the 4th through 6th digits in the serial no. If it is 108 or higher then the issue has been resolved. If it is lower than 108 then the issue still persists. The one i saw had 112. And the xps 15 has a much weaker GPU, although the service is better (from what i’ve heard. I’ve never actually used a Dell or an HP laptop so I don’t really know). If gaming is your main priority, then go for hp. Otherwise if you will only play the occasional NFS or COD at moderate settings then go for xps. Xps is more customisable though, if you want a 1080p screen or extended warranty with complete cover.

    Hi,

    I am looking to purchase this laptop in a day or two hence I require urgent help.
    I have few concerns , since you all have tested and unboxed it you all will be able to clear my queries.

    1)Does this laptop overheat alot , this problem is faced by alot of dv6 users.
    2)Is the battery backup / life good.
    3)Intel sandybridge chipsets had flaws,is it been rectified in this notebook.
    4)Should I go for this or xps 15?
    5)Is it rev. B2 which is with flawed chipset or its rev. B3?

    My usage –
    Gaming,Movies,Surfing,Chatting.My laptop is on 15-16hrs a day.
    Hence my usage is heavy.

    Urgent help needed.

    hey, common.. m waiting for your detailed review on this, btw this thing is priced at 53,990 also the retailers may provide some extra goodies along with it, on the other hand buying a dell xps with same specs may rip off up to 60k easily….6770m is rated as class one by http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-of-Laptop-Graphics-Cards.130.0.html
    but there are no frame rates, so can you give the rough frame rates for crysis 2, metro, and nfs hot pursuit on this monster…

    Benchmarks please. I ordered this computer with the 2720 processor and SSD drive and the same 6770 gpu. I’m looking forward to it when they finally build the thing. 3-4 weeks seems like a long time.

    It would have been better if you could have place MBP side by side, rather than on top of HP. It would have given better idea of thickness and feel.
