  • Apple To Use LG Displays In 2018 iPhones

Apple To Use LG Displays In 2018 iPhones

There is no doubt that despite being a little late to the OLED game, Apple has impressed its customers with one of the best OLED displays on the market today. Even though the display is entirely manufactured by Samsung, the iPhone X’s display was manufactured under extremely precise conditions all of which were controlled by Apple themselves. Apple has also managed to tune the display the offer up a heightened color balance, and no ghosting or burn in issues.

But, it seems like Apple is diversifying away from Samsung in an attempt to control their production standards further and increase output of the displays to meet demands for the next generation of iPhones, all of which are expected to use OLED displays. According to the Investor Korea, Apple plans to diversify OLED models this year. Sources said LG Display is likely to produce larger 6.5-inch screens, while Samsung Display will focus more on producing smaller 5.8- or 6-inch screens. LG Display will start production in the second quarter at its E6 plant in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The plant, consisting of two OLED production lines, has a monthly production capacity of 6 million OLED screens but its full-capacity production is expected to start next year considering its still low yield rate.

Apple is rumoured to move entirely away from LCD panels this year, offering only previous versions of the iPhone with the LCD displays. As users and owners of the iPhone X have appreciated Apple’s first OLED phones, the company is said to swiftly work to have ample production ready for the next generation iPhone.

OnePlus Just Blatantly Copied Moto’s Advertisement

Yesterday OnePlus posted a media on their social media platforms showing the OnePlus 5 in a grey colour with the 50 Shades of Grey tag “Mr. Grey will See you now” with one small change, with the word “grey” spelt “Gray” which is a more American way of writing the word.

This image seems to be an exact copy of an image Moto tweeted for the “grey” Moto M. While the meme for “Mr. Grey will see you now” is a popular and open concept. It seems that not only did OnePlus get inspired by the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus as far is design is concerned, the company is also seeking inspiration in creative campaigns for social media.

The OnePlus 5 was launched on 22nd June in India, and was highly criticised for its design which looks similar to the iPhone 7. The OnePlus 5 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and features 6-8 GB of RAM. The OnePlus 5 also has a dual camera setup on the back which has been laid out much like the iPhone 7 plus.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Leaks Show Massive Screen And Dual Cameras

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Leaks Show Massive Screen And Dual Cameras

A new leak out of china shows the front panel of the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phone from Samsung. The phone which was rumored to be killed due to the massive failure of the Note 7 thanks to its battery issues, lives to see the light of day.

The new leak goes in line with previous rumors of a 6.3/ 6.4 inch display on the next Note phone. With technology catching up, reports of the Note 8 with a  6.4-inch 4K Super AMOLED display increased. This would mean that Samsung may launch an upgraded Gear VR to match the phones performance.

Samsung is reportedly added dual cameras at the back of the phone to match up with current day demands. The phone will still run on the Snapdragon 835/ Exynos 8895 depending on market, but will launch with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage.

It may seem that Samsung will be able to embed the fingerprint sensor under the front of the glass hence removing the need for a rear sensor. The Galaxy Note 7 will continue to hold an S-Pen and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, according to leaked schematics.

The layout of the camera is expected to be a wide and tele, along with a 1.7 aperture on both cameras. The phone despite the large size will be comfortable to hold in the hand by the looks of it.

Will Samsung get it right with the Note 8, considering that they have already recovered most of their market with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

Xiaomi Mi 6 to launch in India in May Starting Rs. 26,999

Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 6 at their event in China as the company announced plans to hit global markets soon. India is one of the most important markets for the Chinese smartphone market and Xiaomi’s Snapdragon 835 equipped Xiaomi Mi 6 plans should be launched end of May. With the phone going on sale in June. Xiaomi is already in talks with Flipkart and Amazon to flesh out launch deals, which should include some loyalty programs, and buyback schemes.

The phone which has been announced to be available in 11 colors will see at least 3 of those colors in India at launch. Xiaomi has placed the phone strategically offering similar specs to the Samsung Galaxy S8 at ridiculously cheap pricing. Xiaomi will sell you a phone with a faster 2.45 GHz Snapdragon 835, 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage along with a 3350 mah battery. What is different is that magical “infinity display” on the new Samsung phones does not exist on the new Xiaomi Mi 6 and instead of taking their approach with the Mix further, Xiaomi has launched the Mi 6 with a standard  5.15-inch, 1080px resolution LCD display.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been announced in two variants, one for RMB 2499 ( Rs. 23445 approx) which will launch in India for Rs. 26999 although the company is trying to ensure they can sell for Rs. 25999. The Ceramic variant which costs RMB 2999 (Rs. 28153 approx) will not come to India.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 does have stereo speakers and is missing a 3.5mm headphone jack, much like the iPhone 7, the fingerprint scanner is also laid under the glass of the front on the Xiaomi Mi 6. The new Xiaomi Mi 6  integrates four-sided 3D curved glass and a stainless steel frame for an impressive build, along with splash resistance, a first for a “flagship killer”.

The phone also boasts of incredible camera capabilities, thanks to the dual camera setup  which consists of dual 12 MP cameras, much like the iPhone 7 Plus, one camera is a wide lens while the other a telephoto lens, allowing for optical zoom capabilities. The cameras also have 4 axis optical image stabilisation.

The ceramic variant of the Mi 6 does offer up 128GB storage for now the phone has been launched in Black, White, Blue and Silver, and Ceramic with 18-karat gold camera rims.

On a pure specification to price ratio the Micromax Dual 5 stands at a winning position and while despite being launched only for the Online market the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro is the most expensive out of the lot. Those looking for modularity and a fantastic battery experience can choose the Moto Z play. While the Micromax Dual 5 also does offer up additional security features, dual cameras and a whopping 128 GB of Storage despite the dedicated microSD slot. Purely on the basis of  features + Price advantage the Dual 5 turns out to be the best for the offline market.

While primarily designed for the the offline market the Micromax Dual 5 will be sold online as well, and the Moto Z Play is available both online and offline. While considering the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro the OnePlus 3, available for the same price offers a better Android experience and best specifications for the price.

However, a lot of people may want to buy a Samsung device, simply for the the way images are processed and the good service and support.
