  • OnePlus One Price to Remain the Same Says Co-Founder Carl Pei

OnePlus One Price to Remain the Same Says Co-Founder Carl Pei

In a recent interview, OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei said that they would not be slashing down prices for the OnePlus One even as sales for OnePlus 2 kickoff.

OnePlus has been a successful startup right from the beginning and with the OnePlus 2 registration reaching nearly 3 million now, it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. Carl Pei also mentioned the fact that they were very humbled at the immensely positive response to the product, especially as huge crowds were seen lining up the day before the launch to buy the product.

“There’s no planned OnePlus One price cut. We see price cuts as slapping our early customers in the face, and will only resort to it when we have no other choice.” – said Carl Pei

OnePlus continues to strive towards its motto of ‘Never Settle’ with the co-founder also quoted as saying, “You don’t kill other flagships by cramming all the specs into a device. That’s a surefire path to mediocrity. Never settle for mediocrity.”

    OnePlus 2 2

With its holistic approach and focus to sell quality devices with high specs at affordable prices, OnePlus seems to be doing more than alright, for now.

  • Google and BMW Tussle Over Domain Name Alphabet.com

Google and BMW Tussle Over Domain Name Alphabet.com

Reports suggest that Google’s new parent company, Alphabet might have encountered an issue with German automaker BMW. Apparently, BMW also owns the same name and the domain as Alphabet.com and does not plan to sell it to Google anytime soon.

Yesterday Google had announced its administrative restructuring by launching Alphabet as a parent company above all other companies owned by Google. This move is said to have been designed, so as to, separate the core products from the far reaching projects such as Fiber, Calico etc. Alphabet was launched along with its domain name as abc.xyz.

Reports also suggest that BMW is looking into whether Google’s Alphabet has infringed on its trademark or not. However, no legal action has been announced just yet.

Alphabet.com has been down due to increased traffic while it has been noted that BMW isn’t the only company with Alphabet as its trademark. Reuters has reported over a hundred companies in the Unites States with the same trademark.

While it has been suggested that it is necessary for companies to own the .com domain, it is not important for finding a company’s online presence. Larry Page has stated earlier, that Alphabet won’t be introducing products under its own name and that it wouldn’t be a public facing name like Google. So this might not be a huge problem for the new Alphabet, after all.

Here’s How Facebook Might Become Your Go-to News Source

According to reports, Facebook is working on a new mobile application as part of its Facebook for Business Initiative. It is said that a few companies were chosen by Facebook to pilot the app. However, Facebook has declined to comment on the story.

With vague details and reports, it is suggested that the app is currently in an early testing phase and will work once users download a new mobile app created by Facebook. Users can also choose publications and topics that they want to follow; this will allow them to receive news alerts and articles specifically from those publications.

The report stated that the partnering publications will be able to create mobile notifications that can blast out to all of the followers instantly, as fast as a tweet would. The alerts allow up to a hundred characters of text and URL to the news article, so that one publication cannot create a notification for another. Once the blasts go out, the user can click on the link to read the article.

New Leaks Of the iPhone 6S Show Sturdier Rear Casing

The Unbox Therapy has been able to acquire the rear casing for the anticipated iPhone 6S. After having compared it with the iPhone 6, the video suggests that Apple might be switching over to a lighter and stronger aluminum casing.

The main idea behind every “S” phone is to be better than the previous installment. So, what are the changes that Apple is looking to make with the iPhone 6S? According to the report, the iPhone 6S is thicker than the iPhone 6 on each side, near the volume and power buttons. Precise measurements reveal that the iPhone 6S is 1.9mm thick, as compared to the iPhone 6 which is 1.14mm.
