HTC One M10 is slated to skip a MWC launch in favour of a more sober affair in the coming weeks, making it one of the most anticipated phones to be launched this year. Needless to say, the internet is flooded with leaks and rumours about the phone.
The latest leaks surfacing on the internet are regarding the camera of the phone, which is going to be codenamed “Perfume”. The leaked information suggests, the One M10 will come with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 377 sensor on the back. It will support laser autofocus as well as phase detection autofocus.
The front camera on the other hand will be a 5MP Samsung s5k4e6 one, which has 1.34µm pixel size – much smaller than the 2µm of the original UltraPixel cameras. This camera will be called UltraPIxel One.

Just to recap, the One M10 will come equipped with a 5.2-inch QHD AMOLED display. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A microSD card slot will be available too.
There have been so many rumours regarding the launch of HTC’s upcoming flagship that it’s hard to tell the real from not. Initially, it was rumoured that HTC would launch the One M10 at MWC in February, but later we found that HTC wanted to hold an event of its own in March. Now, fresh rumours claim that HTC will hold its standalone event for the One M10 on the 11th of April.
Now, while HTC has yet to confirm these rumours, we’ll just have to wait a little longer to see if HTC has a device that can bring the company back from the brink of death. HTC need to pull something spectacular out of its hat if it wants to compete with the likes of Samsung, LG and Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship. The One M9 and One A9 did little to help HTC in terms of sales and image. While the One M9 was hated for the HTC logo band on the front, the One A9 was criticised for its apparent iPhone 6 rip-off.
From what we know about the One M10, the device looks a lot less like the One M9 and a lot more like the One A9. Renders show that the newest flagship ditches the front facing BoomSound dual speakers and the logo band, while the rest of the phone is pretty One A9-ish.
The rumoured specs of the One M10 suggest a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset powering the device with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot. On the camera front lies a 12 MP UltraPixel rear camera with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. The device will likely run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8 atop.
While a few flagship devices are scheduled for the MWC, one device that will have an event for its on in March will be the HTC One M10. Over the past few weeks there have been tons of rumours to play around with. There have been suggestions that the One M10 will look a lot like the One A9 and now we have a new render that has emerged online that tell us what the next flagship from HTC could look like.
According to the image, the HTC One M10 does borrow a lot of the same design elements from the One A9. The front shows the disappearance of HTC’s famed BoomSound dual front speakers. instead, the front looks pretty similar to the One A9 with thin bezels and a home button on the bottom which is just marginally smaller than the one found in the One A9. The much-hated logo bar that was found on the One M10 has also disappeared improving the screen to body ratio.
The back shows the antenna lines on the top and bottom much like the One A9 and, in essence, the iPhone 6. The rear camera on the One M10, however, is slightly bigger and is placed just below the top antenna line. There also seems to be a slight bump with the camera module. The left side shows two card trays – one for SIM and the other quite possibly a MicroSD slot, which again looks very similar to the One A9. Naturally, the right side is where the power and volume control buttons will be.
This new render fortifies the image posted a few days ago by @evleaks on Twitter. Indeed, this is perhaps what the One M10 will look like and in a few weeks we will know just how true that is.
We’ll know more as we approach HTC’s event in March.
HTC launched the Desire 626 Dual SIM on Friday and slashed the price by Rs 1000 on Tuesday. The device, which was originally priced at Rs 14,990 is now available for Rs 13,990. Another device that got the same price cut along with the Desire 626 is the Desire 728 Dual SIM which is now available at Rs 16,990.
The HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM comes with a 5-inch display and resolution of 720 x 1280. Internal storage of 16 GB expandable up to 32 GB with the microSD card slot, and 2 GB of RAM are some of its other specifications. Desire 626 is powered by 7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, while its Android OS is coupled with HTC Sense.
The phone has a main camera of 13 MP a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and a front camera of 5 MP, again with BSI sensor. Further, Desire 626 packs a battery of 2,000 mAh.
Meanwhile, The Desire 728 Dual SIM features a 1.3GHz MediaTek octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD card slot.
The handset also features a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, a 2,080 mAh battery, and will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Other connectivity features include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
HTC is ready to out its newest flaship device. However, this won’t happen at the MWC this month where Samsung and LG and ready to unveil their own flagships. HTC is planning to hold a standalone event for the One M10 in March. Today, we have a new leaked image courtesy poplular leakster @evleaks that shows off the front look of the One M10.
As @evleaks had posted a few days earlier, the One M10 indeed looks a lot more like the One A9 and a lot less like the One M9, according to the image. From what we can tell, the most obvious feature missing here is the second front-facing speaker under the display, which means the One M10 will not have BoomSound speakers.
Besides this, the One M10 also sports a rounded home button much like the One A9, and it may also house a fingerprint scanner and a rigged power button on the right side to distinguish it from the volume buttons. You also notice that the bar under the display which had HTC’s logo is nowhere to be found here. This is a welcome sight for HTC fans who were not all too fond of the black bar that simply took up unwanted space on the device.
HTC’s newest addition to the smartphone industry Desire 626 launches in India today. The phone has a 5-inch display and resolution of 720 x 1280. Internal storage of 16 GB expandable up to 32 GB with the microSD card, and 2 GB of RAM are some of its other specifications.
Desire 626 is powered by 7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, while its Android OS is coupled with HTC Sense. Thought HTC hasn’t specified it yet, we can expect the device to run on Lollipop 5.1.1. The phone has a main camera of 13 MP a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and a front camera of 5 MP, again with BSI sensor. Further, Desire 626 packs a battery of 2,000 mAh.
The handset comes in two colour variants – Blue Lagoon and White Birch and will be available with major retailers for Rs. 14,999 in the coming weeks. Watch this space on all the latest updates on pricing and availability.
Motorola launched the Moto X Force in India with a price tag of Rs 49,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs 53,999 for 64GB option. The phone was launched globally last year as Droid Turbo 2 and now it has arrived here with its much talked about ShatterShield display.
On the specs front, Moto X Force packs a 5.4 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. The two internal storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB are expandable up to 2 TB with the help of a microSD card.
The USP of the device is its super-hardy screen. Motorola claims to have integrated a ‘Moto Shattershield’ technology in the display of Moto Force which, it says, is the first shatterproof screen in a phone ever. The company feels confident enough to affirm the screen would stay intact for up to four years, owing to the multiple layers of different materials used in making it capable of absorbing shock and providing protection against cracking. The phone also boasts of two touchscreen layers, which make sure that the smartphone can be used even if one of the layers is cracked.
With the given specs and price tag, a few other devices come to mind like the Lumia 950XL, Nexus 6P, HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. The Moto X Force not only has a strong exterior but does impressively in the hardware department as well. The AMOLED display is sharp and bright despite the layers of glass on top. The X Force also has a giant battery that will provide enough of juice to get you through the day and then some.
However, the camera in the moto X Force isn’t the best, especially when compared to the Galaxy S6 Edge+, Lumia 950XL and even the dubious HTC One M9. The Moto X Force also comes with a pretty bland design, which pales in front of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Nexus 6P which come with a premium look and feel to it that fit the price bracket.
Let’s see where the Moto X Force stands when compared to these devices. Based on the specs, let us know your winner in the comments below.

Over the past few days, a lot has been spoken about the HTC One M10, codenamed “Perfume”. It began when popular leakster @evleaks tweeted that the upcoming HTC One M10 is going to look a lot like the HTC One A9. Those familiar with the One A9 know that the device sparked off a major controversy with the device’s likeness to the iPhone 6, in terms of design.
Today, @evleaks has outed some specs of the device which are likely to be the actual thing. The device will sport a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED display. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A microSD card slot will be available too.
On the camera front, the flagship is said to feature a 12MP UltraPixel rear camera with laser autofocus and OIS. HTC is ditching the front-facing speakers with the One M10, but the device will have a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. The handset will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8 on top. Earlier it was speculated that HTC would unveil the device at the MWC in February, but now it looks like the company will have a dedicated event for the launch sometime in March.
These specs are a little different from what we’ve come to hear about the device. Earlier, it was suggested that the One M10 will sport a 5.5-inch display and feature a 20MP primary camera, but Evan Blass of @evleaks says otherwise. Of course, nothing has been confirmed so far so you may want to take this with a pinch of salt.
Earlier it was also speculated that HTC would unveil the device at the MWC in February, but now it looks like the company will have a dedicated event for the launch sometime in March.
Today’s HTC news is not about smartphones but smartwatches and tablets. Whispers and rumours have been floating about that HTC is set to join the growing list of brands to have their own smartwatches. That and a new tablet being spotted on GFXBench are what’s trending today.
Talking about the smartwatch first, HTC is said to be working on a proper smartwatch after having partially launched the HC Grip fitness band last year. We say partially because the band was launched as a part of an Under Armour Healthbox package that included a chest strap for heart rate monitoring, a smart scale and smart sneakers. The package was launched at CES earlier this month.
The rumor about a smartwatch in the works was revealed by popular leakster @evleaks. However, not much is known about the smartwatch at this time. Some past rumours have suggested that HTC’s smartwatch would use Android Wear as its platform and that the watch would sport a round display.
On the tablet front there are some concrete facts. The alleged tablet was spotted on GFXBench with some key specs listed. The tablet called Desire T7 will be the first-ever tablet under the Desire series and will likely sport a 6.9-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution.
The Desire T7 comes with a Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It is supported by a Mali-400 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage. The tablet is also listed to feature a 5MP primary and secondary camera and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
While a lot of uncertainty looms over the smartwatch, you can expect an unveiling of the tablet at the MWC in February. HTC is also likely to mention the smartwatch at the event or would save it for March where the company will hold a separate event for the launch of the HTC One M10.
Motorola clearly cannot stop teasing us about the ‘shatterproof’ tech of its new Moto X Force. In yet another series of teasers, the company now mocks Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and HTC One M9; both fairly decent devices if you ask us. But Motorola is quite bent on making you think otherwise.
So this is what happens when HTC One M9 is dropped from a height.
It was a little painful to have One M9’s little particles flying around in all directions. But Motorola is truly having fun mocking the device in this video. And it obviously is not done yet. Because a jab a day is not enough, Motorola came out with yet another teaser. This time the device in question was Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Motorola is asserting the uniqueness of its device at the expense of other flagship devices. A lot of feathers have been ruffled all over in the promotion of Moto X Force. Let’s see if it eventually turns out to be worth all the hype when the phone finally arrives in India in the first week of February. Would you be willing to place your stakes on Motorola or do you think the device is going to be bit of a downer? Let us know in the comments below.
In latest news from the land of leaks and rumours, fresh reports suggest not just one, but two Nexus handsets from HTC this year. This revelation comes courtesy of a post on Weibo. The rumour is that there will be two Nexus smartphones just like last year, but unlike 2015, this time we will see the burden of both these being handled by HTC.
The rumour also claims that these smartphones will come in two display sizes 5-inch and a 5.5-inch. The decision to bring HTC back for both these phones means they could be similar to the Nexus 5X, fueling rumours of similar looking phones for the Nexus lineup this year. Much like what Apple does with its iPhones, and Plus range.
Considering that HTC is going through a bit of rough patch, if it indeed is true, this partnership will be great news for the Taiwanese company, though it is still unclear as to why this decision did not go Huawei’s way after its stellar work with the 6P.
HTC has announced the date for pre-order of HTC Vive as 29th February. The company will start shipping the VR-headsets starting April. Pricing and other details of the gadget will be revealed close to the pre-order date.
The HTC Vive was showcased and unveiled at CES 2016. The launch of the consumer version of the VR-headset was delayed due to what chief executive Cher Wang described as a “very, very big technological breakthrough”. This breakthrough was later revealed to be an all new front camera.
The camera allows the wearer to see the physical room around them, which helps to avoid collisions. The wearable also features room-scale technology. You can also read our heads on with the developer edition of the HTC Vive.
One of the main questions surrounding the HTC Vive was always its affordability. Following Occulus’ price tag of $599 (about Rs. 40,000), we can expect the Vive to be priced around somewhere close to this at $600 or slightly higher, if not less.
After the launch of the HTC Desire 828 Dual SIM and HTC One A9 in India last month, HTC today has launched the Desire 728 Dual SIM in India – priced at Rs. 17,990.The phone will be made available for purchase only through major offline retailers starting next next week and will have two color options -White Luxury and Purple Myst.
The Desire 728 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense and features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. It packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5- megapixel front facing shooter. Also, the handset is powered by a Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC (clocked at 1.3GHz) and 2GB of RAM.
It comes with 16GB in-built storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). Connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and Micro-USB and 4G LTE TDD connectivity with support for Indian networks.
According to official listing of the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM, the handset is backed by a 2800 mAh battery that can offer up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 485 hours of standby time in 3G. The dimensions are 157.9×77.84×7.87mm and it weighs at a measly 153 grams. It also comes with HTC proprietary BooMSound Technology, and Dolby audio for all audiophiles in the market.
If ever there was need of proof that HTC & the Under Armour team were up to good work together, then the UA HealthBox is it. It feels like ages that HTC & Under Armour announced their partnership together to roll out fitness gear such as the HTC GRIP, which sadly never saw the light of the day.
But fast forward to the first day of CES 2016, and much to the liking of fitness enthusiasts these two giants have finally launched for a measly $400( Approx Rs 26000) an all in one fitness tracking system. This apt named UA HealtBox is a collection of three different, but beautiful looking devices.
UA Band which is a fitness tracker, is designed to be worn 24/7. It tracks the number of steps taken, heart rate, workout, and sleep patterns of the user. It is the first accessory in the box.The UA Band comes in black with a red textured underside to allow for moisture wicking.
The second piece of the HealthBox is the UA Heart Rate. This is a band designed to be strapped to the users chest to provide more accurate reading of the pulse. The UA heart Rate is targeted towards athletes, and advanced users who are on intense workout regimes. It also gives an accurate calculation of calories burned during the workout.
The final piece that completes this fancy jigsaw puzzle is the UA Scale which measures your weight, and body fat ratio. The scale is Wi-Fi enabled, and syncs with the UA Record app to keep a check on things.
Though not physically a part of the UA HealthBox, but still the most critcial element of the system, is the UA Record app. Developed by Under Armour, this app is the element on which hinges the whole experience of using the UA Healthbox system. It brings together these isolated elements of the box together, making them work seamlessly as a single entity. To top it off, this app even has an option where it lets you rate on a scale of 1-10 about how you felt about your workout on a particular day!
Last year saw some incredible smartphones that pushed the boundaries of design and specification, making it difficult to pick out just one favourite. This year promises to do the same. We take a look at some of the most anticipated smartphone launches expected in 2016 and what we know about them so far.
iPhone 7
Apple’s iPhone 7 and Samsung’ Galaxy S7 are perhaps the most talked about flagship devices today. There’s just a lot of anticipation attached to the upcoming handsets and along with it comes a lot of rumours as well. The first round of rumours a few months ago suggested that the iPhone 7 will lose the home button and will sport an OLED display thereby giving up on LCD display that it has relied on so far. Apple followers will know that the Apple Watch is the only Apple device to sport an OLED display currently. Furthermore, the OLED display will either be supplied by LG or Samsung, or both.
Next up, the iPhone 7 is rumoured to be waterproof and will feature 3 GB of RAM. More recently, there have been talks related to Apple’s decision to ditch the headphone jack. This is part of Apple’s plan to improve the quality of music streaming. Furthermore, the loss of a headphone jack means more space for Apple to add a larger battery to the iPhone 7, as well as make the device thinner. We’ll just have to wait and see how this strategy plays out.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung S7 Render
There have been a lot of rumours and a lot of questions regarding the launch and specs of Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S7 devices. What everyone is expecting is Samsung to pull out another stunning flagship that pushes the boundaries of design and power, like it did with the Galaxy S6 series.
It’s almost confirmed that the Galaxy S7 will arrive in two variants – one powered by the new Snapdragon 820 chipset and the other by Exynos 8890.
Among the many rumours that have been making the rounds, some that have caught our attention is that the S7 devices will feature Apple’s 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive display called ClearForce that’s being developed by Synaptics. Additionally, the Galaxy S7 will have a Type C USB Port which means the device will charge significantly faster.
The flat Galaxy S7 will likely sport a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display while the ‘Edge’ variant will come with a 5.5-inch display of the same kind. As for the S7 Edge, very little is known as to how the curved screen device is going to look. Whether Samsung is going for a different curved design or rather just tweak the previous S6 design is still a mystery. The flagship devices are slated for a February launch at the MWC.
HTC One M10
HTC One M10 Render
Being a successor to the One M9, the HTC One M10 will look to improve on specs wherever it can. The new iteration is said to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display. You can expect some bright, crisp colours under a Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
On the design front, the device will have the all-metal, unibody form associated with HTC flagships, along with curved edges and bezels to give it an attractive look. The HTC One M10 will sport a Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood along with a powerful graphics card.
Other features include a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, 4 GB of RAM with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage variants, and a battery capacity of 3,500 mAh. The device is expected to come out sometime in March.
Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi Mi 4
Xiaomi fans have been eagerly awaiting the Mi 5 flagship smartphone, which has been delayed due to the launch of the Snapdragon 820 chipset. Since Samsung has claimed exclusivity of the new chipset for the first quarter, the Mi 5 along with any other device sporting the new, powerful processor will all likely see a post-March release.
On the specs front, the Mi 5 will sport a 5.5-inch screen with quad HD (2560×1440) display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 20MP primary camera and an 8MP front camers. The device will also come with 3,800mAh battery and 4G LTE support. RAM is set at 4GB and the phone will offer 16GB/64GB/128GB storage options.
OnePlus 3
OnePlus 3 Render
OnePlus has done so much in so little time. The company, still in its infancy, has already released 3 spectacular devices -OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X in the span of two years. This year, OnePlus will look to reclaim the title of the ‘flagship killer’ with the upcoming OnePlus 3 smartphone. Not much is known about the third flagship device, and only a couple of leaked renders have appeared giving rise to possible hardware specs.
The image above shows a brushed metal back instead of the usual sandstone panels. The new OnePlus might also feature a front speaker. The render shows that the handset could possibly come in two different colours.
From what we’ve heard so far, the new OnePlus device will sport a 5.5-inch UHD display with 5GB RAM. Sources also reveal a little about the hardware and display citing that the handset could arrive with the Snapdragon 820 chipset and a 1080p display resolution.
LG G5
LG G4
A Redditor recently leaked some specs and images of the LG G5. The device will sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, powered by the new Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3 GB of RAM and an 8 MP front camera. Other specs include a full metal body, SIM and MicroSD slot, heart rate sensor that’s under the camera module, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, a USB Type-C port, bottom firing speaker and an IR blaster on top.
A leaked image also suggests that the LG G5 will sport a dual camera set-up at the back – 16 MP and 8 MP. No word yet on when LG plans to launch the device.
Sony Xperia Z6
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
It looks like Sony is planning to launch a slew of devices under the Z6 line. It is rumoured that a total of six Z6 devices will be launched this year: a 4-inch Xperia Z6 Mini, a 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, a 5.2-inch Xperia Z6, a 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus, a 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra, and a 5-inch Z6 Lite. Now, Sony is yet to confirm the rumours, but you can expect some, if not all, to be true.
What you can expect from the Xperia Z6 is a build that’ll reflect the Z5 with a squarer, flatter design rather than the traditional rounded edges that Sony had previously stuck to with the older models. The Z6 will also come with a fingerprint scanner added to the power side button.
The burning question is whether Sony will go for a 2K display with the 5.2-inch Xperia Z6 or will it continue with a Full HD display as it has with the Z5. Doing the former would mean having to sacrifice battery life, which Sony isn’t all too fond of doing at the moment.
Nokia C1
Nokia C1
Nokia is all set to make a comeback with a new smartphone. This new device, allegedly called the C1, will be the first flagship device to bear the Nokia logo since the Finnish company was sold to Microsoft a few years ago.
There have been a number of leaked renders that claim the design of the C1, though each source has leaked different designs. One of the more recent renders show a very minimalist and sleek design, which actually looks pretty good, if confirmed as legit. The C1 is also depicted running both Android and well as Windows 10 OS.
Rumours suggest that the Nokia C1 will come in two variants. The first one will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The device will also come with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card slot.
The second variant will have a 5-inch Full HD display and will sport an 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory.
