Not Sure What to Make of Reflexion- OnePlus’ New Photography App

In another of its firsts, OnePlus has now launched a photography app called Reflexion. It has been released as an inspiration of OnePlus X, celebrating OnePlus’ latest device.

“Inspired by our latest device, Reflexion…easy-to-use photography app that explores contrasts and harmony in everyday moments. Capture your world, express your unique personality and share it with those you care about,” says the company.

The app is available for download on both iOS and Android devices. Basically, what the app does is take two photographs, one from the front camera, the other from the rear camera, and it stitches them together in an X-pattern on your screen. Like almost all other photography apps, Reflexion allows for easy sharing options of the picture on social media.

Don’t get too carried away by the fancy video though. We’re not too sure how exciting an addition Reflexion is to the app-world, especially post the song and dance of OnePlus X earlier this week. You can find more information about it on Reflexion’s official website, or you can check out the Google Play listing.

reflexionAre you as impressed by Reflexion as OnePlus would want? Let us know in the comments below.

  • OnePlus X Officially Launches in India

OnePlus X Officially Launches in India

We had earlier reported that OnePlus’ latest smartphone will be launched in India on the 29th of October. The company has indeed lifted the veils off the OnePlus X today. This is the third entry in the company’s lineup and it falls under a whole new category for OnePlus – not exactly a mid-range device but also not a ‘flagship killer’.OnePlus X

The OnePlus X was touted as a smaller version of the OnePlus 2. Recent leaked images also suggested that the company was not going with the OnePlus 2 design for the X, which made sense given the poor response towards the OnePlus 2’s look.

The phone was launched today in New Delhi. The GM of OnePlus India, Vikas Agarwal, said that the OnePlus X is made for a design conscious user and brings a feeling of high quality. The company has introduced for the first time a glass-ceramic variant for the phone. The OnePlus X onyx will come with a black glass plate and round edges while the OnePlus ceramic comes with angled edges that will reflect light. The ceramic variant is limited edition with only 10,000 units available.

    OnePlus X 1

The specs of the phone keep with past rumours. The OnePlus X sports a 5-inch AMOLED display (1920×1080), with a primary camera of 13 MP and a 8 MP front. The device runs on a 2.1 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset. It features a 3 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage and is expandable up to 128 via MicroSD card slot. The phone includes an alert slider, like the one found on OnePlus 2. The OnePlus X weighs around 138 gm for the onyx variant and a heavier 160 gm for the ceramic variant.

As expected, the OnePlus X is available through invite only. The handset comes at a very affordable price tag of Rs. 16,999 for the onyx variant and Rs. 24,999 for the limited edition ceramic body. The price is great for a phone that aesthetically looks high-end but isn’t. The device will be sold exclusively on Amazon from the 5th of November. Have a look at the spec table below.

Latest Leak Reveals OnePlus X Design and Pricing

We earlier mentioned to you that the OnePlus X is set to come to our markets by the end of this month. Now, official leaks of the much awaited phone reveal what seems like its final design and price tag.

The OnePlus X is said to be 5-inch which will be smaller that the current OnePlus’ that are both 5.5.” The phone is expected to sport a 1080p display, in a 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm chassis and will sport a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP camera on the front, 3 GB of RAM, and 16 GB/32 GB of expandable storage space.

    oneplus-x

The device is likely to be announced on 29th October which is just three days away. The poster also showed the highly anticipated price tag which is 1699 yuan (Approximately Rs. 17,362). This doesn’t seem cheap considering that competition phones are cheaper and also because it was first rumoured to be three thousand rupees cheaper. It isn’t yet clear if that is the pricing of the 32 GB variant as there is another 1099 yuan price tag, present on the poster. However, that is probably going to be the price for event attendees.

Whatever said and done, the OnePlus X has caused a great amount of stir and the 29th of October will answer all your unanswered questions so watch this space for more.

  • Fresh Leak Confirms OnePlus X/Mini Specs

Fresh Leak Confirms OnePlus X/Mini Specs

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of discussion regarding OnePlus’ upcoming phone, the OnePlus X/Mini. None of the rumours and reports have clearly stated what the official name of the phone will be. However, the specs of the phone have pretty much been confirmed now by China’s TENNA, which is a regulatory agency similar to FCC in the US.

While some of the specs keep with past leaks, others are a bit different. The TENAA listing reports that the OnePlus X/Mini will sport a 5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels at 441 ppi. So far so good.

Rumours that the latest phone will not feature a dual camera set have been squashed. The OnePlus X/Mini will feature a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front. In the storage department, the phone will have 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot.

    OnePlus Mini

The CPU is totally different from what we have come to learn. Earlier it was rumoured that the phone will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset with a 2.2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU. The TENAA listing, however, shows that that’s not the case. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 but will run at 2.0GHz unlike other Snapdragon 801 variants, which all come with a CPU clocked at 2.26GHz or higher. No confirmation on the battery of the device as of yet.

In case you missed it, a teaser by OnePlus India was posted yesterday on Facebook. The image suggests that the phone will be launched on the 29th of October. There were also rumours about OnePlus X/Mini featuring the Force Touch technology similar to the 3D Touch found in the latest iPhones, but nothing more has been revealed on that front. We’ll have a detailed specs table up once the device is officially out.

OnePlus to Start Local Production in India

In keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India initiative, OnePlus will start local production of its smartphones in India by the end of 2015. OnePlus will set up shop through contract manufacturing at ‘Foxconn’s Rising Stars’ factory within the Sri City Integrated Business City in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

    OnePlus 2 10

“We are excited to add another significant chapter in our India journey as we look forward to starting local production of our smartphones within a year of our launch in the country. Local production will not only make our operations more efficient in terms of cost and working capital requirements but also help us in making our products available for sale much faster than ever before,”Vikas Agarwal said at an official event in Bangalore that saw representatives of the Government of Andhra Pradesh today.

He futher added that, “Ever since OnePlus debuted in India, we have been deluged with requests for invites to buy our products, with more than 5 million registrations worldwide for our latest release – the OnePlus 2 – alone! With the best of our intentions of fastening up the availability process, we have been constrained by  a few supply chain related challenges in meeting consumer demands. The local production will help to address this issue and better cater to the fast growing demands for OnePlus products in India.”

    OnePlus Invites

Local production of OnePlus’ upcoming devices will start by the end of this year at the 60,000 sq.ft facility at Foxconn’s Rising Stars factory. The facility is likely to produce up to 500,000 units per month to fulfill the growing demand for OnePlus’ smartphones in India.

A Cheaper OnePlus Smartphone Expected To Be Announced Today

If rumours are to be believed, OnePlus may announce a OnePlus X smartphone in the country very soon. After OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 smartphones, the company might be gearing to introduce a device more affordable than its previous phones.OnePlus 2 0

The Chinese company is hosting an event in Bangalore today and Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus will be present there. According to official reports, the event will be a corporate one but speculations about what else the company can announce tomorrow are endless. Keeping in mind the recent ‘Make in India’ announcements from brands like Xiaomi and Lenovo, OnePlus is also expected to follow their league.

Adding to these speculations and rumours are the company’s social updates -one of them include the OnePlus India Twitter handle which put up a picture of the X with the words,“Time to look at things a little differently.” This had led many to believe about an imminent launch of a OnePlus X smartphone. Also, Lau himself posted on his official Weibo account about a fitness app saying, “Dissatisfied run a X.”

  • OnePlus Mini: Leaked Specs and Everything Else

OnePlus Mini: Leaked Specs and Everything Else

Here’s the thing you need to know about the upcoming OnePlus phone – it’s going by two different names. There have been many leaks over the past few weeks about a new OnePlus phone that is a miniaturized version of the OnePlus 2. The phone is being called OnePlus Mini or OnePlus X, depending on which source you follow. Recent discussions about the phone are tilting more towards OnePlus Mini now. But we discussed OnePlus X last week so it’s anyone’s guess, really.

We have brought out some rumoured spec leaks of the OnePlus Mini/X a couple of weeks ago that was spilled by AnTuTu Bencmark, and now we have an anonymous source that’s backing it up. Since the new reports come as an anonymous tip, you should not completely trust the authenticity of it. However, some specs do seem right for a phone that is said to fall below the $250 price tag.

    OnePlus X (1)

As previously mentioned, the OnePlus Mini will feature a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution cloaked in 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 or Gorilla Glass 5.The Mini will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset with a 2.2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU.

2 GB of RAM and 32 GB expandable storage can also be expected. So far so good. In the camera department, however, there are changes to earlier rumours. Now it is suggested that the phone will not feature dual camera set as earlier renders have shown. Instead, there will be one 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 rear sensor with  f/2.0 aperture, 4K @ 30fps video recording capabilities, and a Dual-Tone LED flash.

    OnePlus X

It is likely that the OnePlus Mini camera and display will be similar to the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 4c. There have been no changes concerning the design of the phone as shown in the renders above (except the dual camera). It is very likely that the company is steering clear from recreating a OnePlus 2 design as it has received some flak for it.

The battery is said to be either a 3000 mAh or 3100 mAh, which you’ll charge through a USB Type-C port and is also said to come with Quick Charge support. Other features include a fingerprint sensor on the back, an FM radio, a MT6630 wireless SoC, Bluetooth 4.1, an IR Blaster, a 1.2W front-facing speaker and a NFC chip for Android Pay, which was missing from the OnePlus 2. Both the NFC chip and Quick Charge support are likely to come with the Mini despite not having been featured in the bigger device.

The device is expected to be priced at $250. The anonymous source has also revealed that the phone is likely to make an appearance in November or December, though other sources say it could be launched this month. So keep your eyes open and ears to the whispers as we bring you more on the upcoming OnePlus device.
