Syfy’s Tv Series ‘Halycon’ Will Feature First “Made for VR” Episodes

In what will be great news for VR enthusiasts, and users who have brought expensive VR headsets from Oculus, NBCUniveral’s Syfy channel have announced it’s new, futuristic crime drama Halycon. The order details of the show reportedly point out the inclusion of the production of 5 special episodes, designed to be viewed through the Oculus Rift VR headset.

    oculus

Halycon is a scripted show that users will only be able to view with Oculus Rift, making it the first show meant to be watched in virtual reality in the history of television.

This will be a production of the Emmy award-winning studio Secret Location, and the plot of the show will be set in 2058 where the cops in the series set out to investigate a murder that happens in virtual reality, unravelling a conspiracy in the process.

Talking about the show Steve Patscheck, executive VP, global programming, NBCU International Networks said,“Syfy is the perfect home for launching this innovative, hybrid linear and virtual reality series. We look forward to partnering with Secret Location on Halcyon, as Syfy international channels break new ground with the launch of the brand’s first scripted virtual reality series.”

  • Apple’s Original TV Show to Star Dr. Dre

Apple’s Original TV Show to Star Dr. Dre

Apple is going the Netflix way and is making an original TV series that will star popular rapper and Apple-owned Beats co-founder Dr. Dre. The show is called Vital Signs and is a dark drama which will have six 30-minute episodes showing Dr. Dre responding to different emotions. It is semi-autobiographical in nature and will also start Sam Rockwell and Mo McCrae.

This will be Apple’s debut venture in original content and, like Netflix, the episodes will release all at once for viewers to binge on. The series will debut on Apple Music, according to reports. It is still not clear when and how big the launch of the show will be. One of the reasons behind going with Dr. Dre for its first TV series is due to Dre’s ties with Apple on Beats.

Another reason could be Apple trying to get a piece of the success that followed Straight Outta Compton, which was a story about Dre’s life as a rapper during his time with the N.W.A. According to reports, Dre has already begun filming for the show.

    Apple TV 8

Early in January, we had reported that Apple was working on a project called “Apple Video” and has partnered with ABC, CBS, and Fox. Apple has also worked out details with Sony Pictures, Universal and Disney and may be negotiation with some other studios.

Apple has been working on a video streaming service, according to the rumour mill, for the past six years. It seems 2016 will be the year of release. With the recent news of Netflix going global and launching in 190 countries worldwide, Apple may have to move fast if it wants to get on with the competition.

  • Set-Top Boxes to Allow Internet Browsing on Television Sets

Set-Top Boxes to Allow Internet Browsing on Television Sets

Even though this news is of not much consequence for smart-television users, it is an interesting development for those who use standard television sets. Tata Sky and Videocon d2h have announced that their set-top boxes will now also feature web browsing.

DTH (direct-to-home) service providers have experimented with various interactive features which have only been supplemented by things like 4K display support on TV channels. Internet browsing is yet another feather added to the cap. This doesn’t mean, however, that users can use services like video streaming.

    Set-Top-Box-Television

Tata Sky offers this new service to all existing customers free of cost, while Videocon d2h is yet to confirm details of its offers. Those using a smart-TV already have access to the Internet along with a pre-loaded app store. Having said that, this is still an interesting tech development for others.

However, with such deep infestation of the virtual space in our daily lives, one wonders if we need another gadget to connect us to the Internet. What do you think -should we be moving closer or away from the Internet in our daily activities? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Pirate Bay Adds Streaming Option for Content on its Website

Pirate Bay Adds Streaming Option for Content on its Website

Move aside Netflix, Pirate Bay is here. The popular torrent sharing site has announced support for Torrent Time, a browser plugin that lets you stream a torrent directly inside your browser of choice. The addition of this new functionality has taken away the need for downloading a Torrent client such Utorrent or even downloading a small torrent file to your system.

    Pirate-Bay-Streaming

To make use of the feature, the user will need to download the Torrents Time plug-in on their browser. It works in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome, on Windows and OSX. ‘Pirates’ can now go directly to the Pirate Bay website where they will find a new button to stream content easily.

Upon pressing this button a pop-up window will open where the streamable content will start buffering before playback. Streaming through Pirate Bay will include support for automatic subtitles as well as Chromecast, Airplay, and DLNA support, and hence has all the possibilities of becoming a major streaming solution in the future.Pirate Bay

Having said this, streaming content from servers shared by Pirate Bay and its affiliates much like downloading torrents from it, is considered as piracy, so for all of you out there looking at this as a nice alternative to Netflix, know the risks before proceeding.

  • Netflix Wants to be a Premium Service Provider in India

Netflix Wants to be a Premium Service Provider in India

Netflix has made comments which are bound to ruffle some feathers across the country. The company declares that it aims to be a premium service provider, not meant for the average consumer in India.

“We are after a small base of English-speaking people, who travel abroad, are wealthy and want to watch the latest shows that are being launched in the US,” said a senior Netflix executive.

The company has made sure that payment of its services can only be made through a credit card, already putting a filter for the choice of its users. Netflix launched in India last month with the Basic plan that costs Rs. 500 per month, and the Premium one which is priced at Rs. 800 per month. Users can try the service for free for the first one month by signing up at www.netflix.com/in.netflix

Modeling itself as a premium brand is undoubtedly a tried and tested marketing strategy. At the expense of being dubbed as elitist, brands all over have tried similar tactics, and it has worked wonders for them -Apple being an example. Let’s see how the Indian consumer reacts to this. Let us know what you think of this move by Netflix in the comments below.

  • Should You Subscribe to Netflix in India?

Should You Subscribe to Netflix in India?

Netflix announced that its taking measures to stop subscribers that use proxies in order to stream shows and movies that are only available outside their own country. “In coming weeks, those using proxies and unblockers will only be able to access the service in the country where they currently are,” David Fullagar, Netflix’s VP of content delivery architecture, wrote in a blog post. “We are confident this change won’t impact members not using proxies.”

The internet streaming giant recently went global at CES 2016, launching its services in a number of new countries including India. However, the launch of Netflix also comes with a few potholes. Let’s have a look at some of the pros and cons of having Netflix in India, and whether those who have been eagerly awaiting the service should go for it or not.

    Pros

    Netflix is Completely Legal

Online streaming, be it music or videos, is the next big thing. Gone are the days of actually owning physical CDs and a DVD player (Well, almost). And rightly so, when one can now find all the content available online. The only contention is does one take the privacy route or does one go completely legit. The problem was for a long time that privacy allowed people to get the latest of content in entertainment quickly through torrents and other ways that aren’t legal.

Netflix, however, is one of those companies out there that’s trying to fight online piracy. It’s channel and the contents are completely legal and are available though subscription. Yes, you have  to pay, but it is worth given the content Netflix is offering.

Censor Board’s Got Nothing on Netflix

Netflix is completely and 100% uncensored. In a country where the censor board is looming around every corner, waiting to censor explicit (even mildly explicit) content. Netflix, however, does not fall under the jurisdiction of the censor board, as of now. And there are some shows and movies out there that just need to be seen the way they were meant to be seen. So for those who just abhor the beeps and cuts when enjoying their favorite movies and shows on television, can watch them uncensored on Netflix.

    neflix india

Netflix Guarantees Top Notch Quality, No Pop Ups

Being a paid service mean subscribers expect some benefits. When it comes to watching videos (and streaming them more importantly), one expects quality and clarity. This is what Netflix promises with its service. The Subscription plans are divided into three – the basic plan which costs Rs. 500 doesn’t provide HD quality, while the Rs. 650 and Rs. 800 plans do. The best choice for customers would be the middle one where HD quality and unlimited streaming are both offered. So, the one thing you can expect, if not anything else, is good streaming quality.

Another piggy back pro that can be included here is the lack of any pop ups or ads. While there are many free streaming sites available online that can give you shows and movies for free, these sites come cluttered with pop ups and possible viruses as well. So Netflix is the way to go for a clear screen with high quality streaming.

    netflix-devices1

    Anytime, Anywhere

This is the main selling point of any online streaming site. The whole idea is that you can watch your favorite content anytime across multiple devices. That’s the one downside to television, isn’t it? Fixed airing times mean that one is bound to miss out on some shows a or movie.

Netflix lets you watch any content (that’s available in its catalogue) anytime, and through laptop, mobile, tablet or even PlayStation and Xbox consoles. You can resume where you left off or binge through an entire season, the choice is yours.

    Cons

Bandwidth Still a Problem in India

India is still catching up in terms of bandwidth. Speeds are good these days but still has a ways to go before we’re quite there in terms of seamless connectivity. Netflix is a guzzler of bandwidth and you will you require a decent broadband speed (2 mbps and above is good), and a ton of gigabytes in your plan. In effect, your total cost (subscription and broadband) will be above Rs 1000 at least.

Movies will drain a lot of data, be it on broadband or cellular, which means you will have to shell out a lot more for that. 3G connectivity will be needed while streaming and you may experience regular buffering.

    netflix-inline_010616113701

Few Takers in the Indian Market

At least initially, Netflix in India is going to find a very niche audience. Many are yet unaccustomed to the online streaming site or the content it has to offer. Moreover, indian streaming sites like Hotstar already enjoys a huge population and these sites also deliver a great variety of Indian content, more so than Netflix. So, audience may prefer sticking to local streaming sites rather than dabble outside.

    Lack of a Full Catalogue

Netflix subscribers do not have access to a lot of content due to a number of restrictions that are country specific. Netflix has arrived in India with a number of shows and movies that are still wanting. In order for subscribers in India, for example, to stream a show like House of Cards (which is unavailable on Netflix India), they would have had to bypass their own country and jump on to say the US region using proxy applications to watch the show. This is due to television channels owning exclusive rights to broadcast these shows in India.

The practice of using VPN, proxies and unblocking tools to bypass viewing restrictions has become pretty common these days. Indeed, since the launch of Netflix India, a number of stories have emerged online suggesting applications and tools with which one can do this. Netflix says it is working on bringing a full catalogue of content everywhere, and is working hard to stop proxy access.

While the pros and cons seem evenly matched, there is no denying that Netflix is here to stay. Despite not having a full catalogue, Netflix has some pretty great shows on offer which are definitely binge worthy. The first month is free so there’s no harm in trying it out before you make up your mind, is there? We suggest you start binging on Black Mirror, Narcos, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, for starters. Lastly, their original content is brilliant so go ahead, Netflix and chill!

  • Netflix May Finally Launch in India

Netflix May Finally Launch in India

Popular video-streaming service Netflix is finally going to come to India, according to reports by Hindu Business Line. The announcement of Netflix in India will likely be made at the upcoming Consumer Electronic Show 2016 that will take place in the coming weeks. Netflix has been eying India for a while now, but did not make any headway due to piracy and slow internet speeds in the country.

Now, it looks like the company is ready to launch its service in the country and will tie up with an Indian telecom company for its 4G network. Presumably, this company will be Airtel as currently it is the only operator in the country that has made its mark in the 4G domain, though Reliance is joining in too, having launched its 4G service for its employees just last week.

    Netflix-01

Netflix is a subscription-based service where one can stream television programmes and movies legally. The service is well established in over 50 countries with around 62 million subscribers. The company has also expressed interest in entering Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea markets by early 2016. We’ll have to wait and see if fans in India will finally be able to enjoy binging on their favourites shows on Netflix soon.

  • Find Out the Darker Side Of Cartoons You Watched Growing Up

Find Out the Darker Side Of Cartoons You Watched Growing Up

90s kids, this one is for you. Our childhood was different and will always be better than the childhood of kids these days, two of the main reasons being – Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. These channels were a treat for us all – from Swat Cats, to SpongeBob SquarePants, to Scooby Doo, to Dexter’s Laboratory, to Courage the Cowardly Dog to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to a million more. Do you know what was even cooler? We had conspiracy theories attached to our favourite cartoons. Chota Bheem, you’ve got nothing on us.

    Ed, Edd and Eddy:

Remember Ed Edd and Eddy? Funny cartoon with three idiots? Apparently everything wasn’t so sunny in the Peach Creek Estates. The theory states that everyone in the neighborhood actually died in a different time period and was sent to roam the cul-de-sac of Peach Creek Estates (the land they once lived in their former life). Just to think that every character has a dark past might shatter your childhood. But let’s delve into it anyway.

    Rolf:

The first person to ever live or die in the land that would be later known as the cul-de-sac, was a boy named Rolf. Rolf was a son of a Shepherd who died in 1903; he was trampled to death by his bull who had broken out of its cage. According to the theory, he took along his farm animals even after his death and continued to take care of them on a daily basis.

    Rolf

    Johny:

Now, right after Rolf’s death, a boy named Johnny and his family moved into the same farm Rolf and his family lived in. Way to go, Johnny and his family -everyone wants to live in a place where people have recently died, right? Anyway, Johnny had created this plank to compensate for the lack of friends and abundance of free time he had. Plank would go on to stay with him, even after he died of tuberculosis in the year 1922.

    Johnny

    Eddy:

Moving on to one of the main characters – Eddy. Eddy was originally from New York, however he moved to ‘the neighborhood’ in 1932. During this time, the Great Depression was going on, and Edd became a schemer in order to get away from his real life. He died in 1939, by drowning in a river, while trying to run away from a group of children he had tricked.

    Eddy

    Ed:

Ed and his sister Sarah were born in the late 40s; this was during the time when cul-de-sac (the neighborhood) was starting to take shape in the post war era. However, they had a difficult childhood while growing up during World War II. Sarah and Ed had different ways of coping with the fact that their mother was never home – Sarah became controlling in order to assert her position, and Ed became an introvert who delved into his parallel world filled with comics and movies. They both died in a car accident, while they were driving to their grandparents’ house.

    Ed and Sarah

    Edd:

Edd, the third main character of the cartoon, is said to have been brought up by two extremely controlling parents. This influenced his life deeply, and he went on to follow their footsteps intellectually but remained shy and timid. He died in 1986, when a gas leak occurred while Edd was experimenting and caused an explosion which blew him and his house altogether.

    Edd

We could go on about all the characters but that would be quite nonsensical for you to read. Therefore, here is a short YouTube video explaining the entire mystery to you. Hint: Nazz has a very dark past and the Kanker sisters are supposed to be the devil’s daughters –

    Rugrats:

This lovely cartoon that shows us the perspective of babies definitely kept us hooked for a while. But, obviously there is a morbid conspiracy theory behind it and it mainly revolves around Angelica – the oldest kid who enjoys terrorizing her cousin Tommy and his friends. The popular theory that is based on the cartoon, tells us that everything in Rugrats is actually based on Angelica’s imagination who was suffering from schizophrenia.

According to this theory, Tommy is a stillborn and his father, Stu never really gets over that. Coincidentally, Stu is constantly making toys in the show; which could be explained as a coping mechanism to deal with the loss of his son. As if that wasn’t enough, Phil and Lil (the baby twins) were created because the Devilles (their parents on the show) had an abortion, and since Angelica did not know the gender of the baby, her imagination conjured both a girl and a boy. Additionally, Chuckie and his mother are actually dead. Funnily enough, Chuckie’s father, Chaz is always portrayed as neurotic on the show.

After all of this, you’re probably wondering whether any of it was even real, well apparently there was one real element – Suzie. Suzie is Angelica’s friend who played along with her friend’s made up baby friends, because she did not want to hurt her. This explains why Suzie is the only person, apart from Angelica, who is able to talk to the babies.

Once again to explain things better to you we have a video, that you should watch. P.S. The theory extends even to the Rugrats side series – All Grown Up.

Yes, we did live in a different time, where cartoons made us curious about words that we might not have understood then.

Here’s Every Gadget James Bond Has Ever Used

It’s only legit to get super-excited about all the technological advancements happening today. Smartphones are getting thinner, laptops are getting lighter, watches can make calls, and all that jazz. But nothing can match the level of badassness when it comes to technology in James Bond movies.

As far back as 50 years, James Bond films have been synonymous with gadgets and cars, among other things. Speaking about gadgets, Bond does nothing less than a Walther PPK, a watch that’s never quite a simple watch, an Aston Martin with ejector seat and machine guns, to name a few courtesy Q Branch. One wonders why no one before Burger Fiction ever thought of making a video compiling all of Bond’s gadgets. But now there is one and yes, it has every gadget ever used by James Bond. All 193 of them. Make sure you have popcorns in hand for this.

Of course the Middle East is part of that, hence our hiring,” he told the IGN Middle East gaming news website.

    Netflix-01

Starz, IcFlix, Telly and OSN Play are some OTT subscription services that already exist in the Middle East and have received a fair bit of subscribers already, which suggest that the market is ready for the big one.

Icflix was launched in 2013 and reportedly has 250,000 subscribers across the Middle East and North Africa, which include Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. The streaming service offers Hollywood, Bollywood, and Arab content which include Egyptian productions as well.

  • Dummies’ Guide to Transhumanism: Epic or Epic Fail?

Dummies’ Guide to Transhumanism: Epic or Epic Fail?

If there was a way for humanity to achieve a stage where there were no diseases, viruses, human frailties or any form of intellectual incompetence, why wouldn’t you want to stretch your hand and grasp it? But how far would you stretch it -is the question. Would you be willing to let go of humanity as we know it today? Transhumanism

The intricacies and nuances of the discussion are, of course, endless. Reasons both for and against it are just as meaty and relevant on both sides. Let’s begin with what Transhumanism essentially aims to achieve.

    Internationally accepted symbol of transhumanism.
    Internationally accepted symbol of transhumanism.

    Transhumanism:

Transhumanism simply refers to a philosophy which seeks to improve the efficiency and capability of mankind using technological advancements. If you’ve ever wondered about cryogenics, you’ve had a brief fling with the notions of this philosophy. If evolution has led us to where we are today as a species, what should stop us from taking over from here and determining where we go next?

    Achievements of Transhumanism:

Lasik eye surgery: Poor eye-sight is a handicap in itself and anybody who has suffered from it would understand the importance of the convenience of leading a life where glasses are not required for clear vision. Needless to say, Lasik eye surgeries have made lives easier for many people with zero or negligible side-effects at an affordable price.

    Human technology

Vaccination: Diseases like Smallpox and Rinderpest have been completely eradicated with the help of vaccinations. An enhanced immune system and protection from disease causing viruses is an outcome of scientific as well as technological advancements, thereby part of transhumanism.

Hearing Aids: Technology has ensured to set right impairments wherever it can, and this includes partial or complete deafness. Hearing aids have been around for a while now and have changed the lives of countless people all over the world.

A bionic man specimen in Washington.
A bionic man specimen in Washington.

Artificially Developed Limbs: Another contribution of transhumanism is prosthetic limbs. They have been developed as a direct offshoot of technological advancements for those who have undergone any kind of bodily amputation. It is an ever growing, ever expanding field of the medical industry and continues to make improvements with every passing day. Bionic men and cyborgs don’t seem that far a reality in contemporary times, do they now?

Iron Man: Need we say more? Go ahead and feast your eyes post all that serious tech-jargon.

"Marvel's Iron Man 3" Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) Ph: Film Frame © 2012 MVLFFLLC. TM & © 2012 Marvel. All Rights Reserved.

    A Cool Example of Transhumanism:

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has been the talk of the town for a while now. This is a technique for speeding up reaction times and learning speed by -wait for it- supplying your brain by a very weak electric current. It has been practised by the US military to train snipers. This practice has its fair share of haters, and with good reason. But that doesn’t make it any less intriguing.

A Not So Cool Example of Transhumanism:

Transhumanism grapples with the idea of uploading your memories and thoughts to a computer -a la Dumbledore and his pensieve, just not as cool and a more than a little disturbing. Hollywood has given us enough examples on how wrong this can go, latest being the Johnny Depp starrer Transcendence.

    Johnny Depp in Transcendence
    Johnny Depp in Transcendence

    Potential Pitfalls:

Growth and Stagnation: Transhumanism is often viewed as the epitome of growth and progress. Transhumanists believe humans are a work in progress of sorts and therefore why should our current stage be the final stage of evolution? Why shouldn’t we control the direction of evolution from here? The instinctive human need is to move forward, develop and evolve, but what if transhumanism is not a step towards evolution but towards stagnation instead?Transhumanism1

If we truly manage to achieve a world with no diseases, perfect immunity and consequently, a drastically reduced or nil death rate, it would be interesting to see what becomes of our overly-populated planet. If we decide to let go of procreation to deal with the problem of limited space, it leaves us with a world frozen in stagnation. Not exactly what we had in mind when we set out with the growth proposition, is it now?

Dehumanization: Humans would cease to be what they are the moment external tampering with not simply a body part but the very core of existence begins, which is what transhumanism aims at. However, we are not sure if that’s exactly a bad idea or not.Transhumanism

Inequality: The fact that technology would be used for enhancing intelligence or the mortality rate also implies that it would entail a certain financial cost. This inadvertently means that money would determine intelligence and mortality of an individual, once again sparking off a whole set of debates about the consequent inequality this will lead to.

    Transhumanism
Android arm and human arm: A transhumanist version of Michaelangelo’s Creation of Adam

The Unknown Ahead: Honestly, no one has any clear idea of where we are headed with transhumanism. Those who endorse it may conjure up eutopic visions of a perfectly healthy and prosperous society, but the opposite side of the spectrum is also taken care of by those who reject transhumanism. Something as small and apparently harmless like smartphones have completely turned our lifestyle on its head, and given rise to a parallel reality of the virtual world. Let’s see where we end up with transhumanism.Transhumanism

A world of  eternal life, superhuman strength, complete eradication of diseases and highly advanced mental faculties is what transhumanism seems to be offering. It has insidiously embed itself in our lives with present technologies like genetic engineering, information technology, and those in their more nascent form like molecular nanotechnology and artificial intelligence; all of it is a part of transhumanism. The question is, how much you will be willing to risk or get absorbed in.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Arrives: “The Force is Calling to You…Just Let It In.”

We can barely control the giddiness that has just erupted over the third and potentially final trailer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The excitement has never been more real. The internet is literally breaking over the latest trailer, and there are plenty of reasons for it. The new footage premiered during halftime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

If you’re still reading and haven’t already jumped to the end and hit play, the new trailer has some huge moments – both in action and scenery. The trailer sheds more light on new characters like Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), and new antagonist, Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver) – who seems to be carrying forward Darth Vader’s legacy. You can clearly see Kylo Ren talking to the salvaged helmet of Darth Vader, saying, “I will finish what you started”. The third trailer still has no signs of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), though we did hear him speak in the previous trailer. This time, we get to see Han Solo (Harrison Ford) speak a few new lines, and oh, how we love each and every word of it: “The Dark Side, the Jedi, they’re real.” And that really is all a fan needs to hear.

    Official poster
    Official Poster

Clocking in at two and a half minutes, this trailer is perhaps the best look at what you can expect from the movie. We see Rey with her BB-8 droid on the planet Jakku. Her character is still a mystery and the trailers so far haven’t revealed much, but that hasn’t stopped fans everywhere coming up with possible theories as to who she might be. One of the more popular opinions suggest that Rey belongs to the Skywalker family. Whether she is the daughter of Han and Leia (Carrie Fisher) or if she’s Luke Skywalker’s own is still uncertain.

You also see the Millennium Falcon show off some new moves that will bring tears and nostalgia in buckets. And when the Millennium Falcon jumps to lightspeed, the goosebumps begin. We can go on and dissect every scene of the trailer, but instead we’ll stop here and let you go ahead and watch the trailer cause,”the Force is calling to you…just let it in.”

    J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters December 18th.

Today it’s not about being good at something; it’s all about being famous. This mind-set has translated down to the vortex of social media, which was initially used to communicate with friends and people all around the world. Today, social media has been made the biggest business mogul, management company, call it what you may but it boils down to being called the new kingmaker.

However, if we look at the rise of social media in two different stages – when it was just introduced to us and now, we will have to admit that we have come a long way in understanding and utilizing the power of social media. Earlier, we would see social media sites filled with statuses that were not spelt correctly due to the raging popularity of the SMS language, they even gave rise to stars like Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian (pre-Kanye West version). Social media did not seem like the place where anybody who was really serious about anything would want to be. But, today we see it take a whole new turn, with artists, writers, fashion bloggers, singers, actors, comedians and everybody with a good sense of aesthetic take things into their own hands. The post-modern social media looks like it’s been created out of a revolution by anti-stupid people. So much so, that some modern age stars are having to change their ways in order to gain respect in the present society.

Now, let’s name some of these famous kingmakers – Facebook, Twitter, Vine, INSTAGRAM, Vine, YouTube to name a few. Next, let us have a look at a couple of people they have turned into legit famous people who are now termed as ‘celebrities’:

It would be unfair to start this list without naming the queen of social media, Mrs.Kim Kardashian West. She’s seen it all, and done it all. She is the biggest success of social media and reality TV. You can follow her on Twitter, Instagram and even on her website kimkardashianwest.com. There’s not much to be said about her, we’re all secretly following her anyway –

Secondly, we have comedians all over the world putting up live shows on their YouTube channels, but we’re going to talk about someone closer home – Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan Rath’s ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews’. All said and done, they said everything we wanted to say about Bollywood films, and they do it all in good faith. Here’s their latest review.

Next we have a true blue Vine celebrity named Logan Paul, who has really got what Vine is all about – short, six second videos about anything. He’s picked humour. Click here to check them out. You can also follow him on Twitter and Instagram.

Before we forget the original YouTube mega child star, let’s put him down on our list – Justin Bieber. Who knows whether he’s still famous or not, the point is that he can still make it on this list and a bunch of others too. Here’s a video of Justin Bieber before he became The Biebs –

    And now –

Another desi celebrity is YouTube and Vine star, Jus Reign. He kind of has a ‘Superwoman’ vibe going on, and makes funny videos about all sorts of desi-kid problems. Here’s an example-

And because we mentioned YouTube star Superwoman, here’s a video about what she does –

Last but not the least we have on our list is already an established author, who has recently made her re-appearance into the limelight via her now famous twitter account. Our beloved – JK Rowling, agreed that this list might be horribly degrading for her to be in, but her Twitter account is fabulous.
