Hyderabad IT professional Spots MH370 in Satellite Images

Several days and several searches later, when many countries came up empty in their search for the MH370, Malaysian Airlines flight which went missing about 10 days ago, A Hyderabad based software techie may have found possibly the most vital clue in finding this aircraft. Anoop Madhav Yeggina, an IT professional working with a software company in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, uploaded a satellite image and claimed it was the image of the missing flight. While searching images of DigitalGlobe Satellite QB02, Anoop had found a satellite image of a large aircraft flying very low above the Andaman Islands on March 8.

    missing-plane-image
I am confident that the image is that of the missing plane because of many reasons. First giveaway is the fact that the image was captured just above a forest and very close to the Shibpur air strip of Andaman Islands. The air strip is exclusively used by the defence forces with no permission for civilian aircraft in this area. A close look at the image will reveal if it is flying extremely low so much so that the clouds are above it which suggests it was done to avoid detection by radar. Most importantly, the standard scale measurement and colour of the missing plane matches with that of the plane in the image
According to Anoop, the aircraft matches the dimensions of the missing airliner and also the colour. The area in which the image was taken, is meant for Defence Aircraft so a commercial airliner in this area could mean that there is a high possibility of a highjack. Considering it has been 10 days, there is no possible way the Aircraft could remain in the air without refuelling. Lots of outcomes of the current scenario can be had including a large possibility of the image being incorrect.

    Update :

It has since been verified that the image of the aircraft is actually a dated image, where the fields around the aircraft in the image match an old stock image from as old as 2009 and are significantly different in the present version, at Coordinates:13.29431,92.99277.

  • Samsung’s First Windows Phone 8.1 Device Shows Up in a Leaked Image

Samsung’s First Windows Phone 8.1 Device Shows Up in a Leaked Image

Samsung has been rumored to be working on a Windows Phone 8.1 device. A leaked image had earlier suggested that the Korean giant is working on a device of this kind. Adding surety to the past rumours, notorious tipster @evleaks has posted new press images of the Samsung ATIV SE Windows Phone 8.1 handset with Verizon branding. If we consider previous rumoured specifications, the device will sport a 5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and will be powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 CPU and a Adreno 305 GPU.

The design cues also follow along the new line of Samsung Galaxy Devices including that oh so familiar hardware button on the front. The sides are rounded and more identical to the new Galaxy S5 suggesting that this phone is of the same era.

Other specifications are not yet available, But it looks like we wont have to wait for long. Initial Impressions

The first thing that one should consider is that the Micromax Canvas Knight is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is a far cry from the standard Android 4.4 KitKat seen on many of todays launches. The Canvas Knight is designed well, subtle Micromax branding and flat design cues make it look a lot more elegant. The Glass back and front add to the design and remind us of the iPhone 4/4s designing. The front is laden with a  1920 x 1080 p IPS display of 5 inch size with excellent viewing angles and vivid brightness especially outdoors.

The front also has an 8 MP camera which sort of takes on handsets like the Gionee E7 (even though they are a different spec set), the rear has a 16 MP snapper, of which not a lot of detail is present, it does however manage a full HD video. The battery on the inside is a 2350 mAh which seems a lot less than needed for a OctaCore chipset and in our initial tests we did find the handset heating a bit from the earpiece region. Whether this will affect battery life performance or not is unknown.

The Canvas Knight A350 seems like a promising product from the company, check out the hands on Images on top and stay tuned for the Video Unboxing and Full Review.

  • Nokia’s Refocus App comes to all Lumia Phones on WP8

Nokia’s Refocus App comes to all Lumia Phones on WP8

Own a Nokia Lumia phone running Windows Phone 8? Its time to hit the App store and download the Nokia Refocus app. The app was earlier thought to be reliant on the Pure View Camera tech. But it appears that Nokia has made the App available to all.

How the picture can be refocused is reliant on the apps ability to scan the area, a Focus Sweep while you hold the camera steady. The phone camera and app will then capture multiple images at various focal lengths and combine into one dynamic image which can then be refocused later. Sort of like the Lytro camera.

In other news it looks like the new HTC One (aka M8) will also have this functionality inbuilt.
