The newly unveiled Apple Mac Pro can be a desire for many of you, the device has some great specifications but we are not going to talk about the specs here.
The Senior Vice President of Design at Apple, Jony Ive is teaming up with design partner Marc Newson for an auction of a one-of-a-kind Mac Pro as part of a Product RED charity fundraiser. It is not clear what will be the difference between on the inside versus the regular black model. However, the outside of the device seems a great work from Apple, the red product seems great. Ofcourse this product is for charity and the price will be kept accordingly, so the bidding price of the RED Mac Pro is supposed to be between $40,000 USD to $60,000 USD which is approximately 36,85,000 INR.
Many of us were surprised when Nokia did not unveil its Lumia 929 smartphone in the event held in Abu Dhabi last week. This can be a good news for people waiting anxiously for the phone to launch, as recent leaks show us the images and video of the alleged phone.
WPCentral forum member Falorin has posted images and a hands on video showing more details of the Nokia Lumia 929 which is with a US carrier Verizon. The phone looks like the Nokia 1520 and is believed to sport a Full HD display with a 20 MP camera. The device is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset. What showed up in the video was a nano SIM card which is has not been Nokia’s cup of tea, however, the device is also rumored to be released on 28 November on the occasion of Thanksgiving. According to a report, a truck which was containing 22,500 units of the LG’s flagship device, LG G2 was stolen on the way to its destination in Louisville.
A report from CNET confirms that the LG G2 phones in the truck were for an US carrier Sprint and was supposed to launch early next month. The phones were stolen at 6:30 PM on Thursday in Indiana, and LG representative confirmed the report, the driver left the truck for a bathroom break and when he was back the truck was missing.
The Indiana police was informed along with the FBI. The phones might not make there way all the way to India, but be aware if you find a cheap LG G2 somewhere!
Huawei has launched its new smartphone, the Ascend P6 in India and is priced at 29999 INR. This flagship from the company is expected to be available soon in the Indian market and can be seen on few online retailers as well.
The Company claims the device to be the slimmest phone in world, as the device has a width of 6.2 mm and weighs just 120 grams. The Huawei Ascend P6 features a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The dvice is powered by company’s own manufactured chipset which has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and the device runs in Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device has a 2 GB of RAM and a 8 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. The Huawei Ascend P6 sports a 8 MP primary camera F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro view with a BSI sensor which can do full HD video, secondary camera on the device is 5 MP.
The device is packed with a 2000 mAh battery and will be available in three color options: Pink, Black and White. The device seems to gave some decent specifications but the price tag seems a bit high.
Sony India today launched three new headphones for its consumers, the MDR-10/RNC and the MDR-10 RBT are priced at 14990 INR each. Sony also launched NWZ-WH303 3 in 1 headphones priced at 8990 INR. Whereas, the MDR-10/RNC is available in the market whereas the MDR-10 RBT will be available in the market by the end of November.
MDR-10/RNC:
This new headphone from Sony features Digital Noise Canceling, it has Sony’s own DNC software engine and Dual Sensor Technology, during the launch it was said that most of the noise canceling headphones available in the market sports one sensor but the new one from Sony has a Dual Sensor Technology.
The device has high precision canceling which is generated by the digital signal processing and the microphones which are located on both the inside and outside the housings. The MDR-10/RNC sports Automatic Artificial Intelligence Noise Canceling Function and has Digital Equalizer with a fully digital S-Master amplifier. This headphone from Sony is priced at 14990 INR and is now available in the market.
MDR-10RBT:
This new headphone from the company comes equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC, the company claims a one touch and easy connection. With these headphones users can enjoy music through a wireless connection. Also, this device sports an built in microphone to allows hands free conversations The MDR-10RBT headphones have 40 mm driver units which provide wideband (5Hz-40 kHz) audio and supports AAC, atpX Codec which the company claims will play music with high quality. The device is priced at 14990 INR and will be available in the market by end of November 2013.
NWZ-WH303:
Besides these two headphones, Sony also launched a 3 in 1 Headphone, NWZ-WH303 is a Music Player, a Speaker and a Headphone as well. The device is priced at 8990 INR and is now available in the market.
This 3 in 1 headphone features a new design with some new features, the device has an built in Music Player Mode which has a 4 GB of memory, it also has a new Speaker mode which allows users to get some music when they cannot put in the headphones around. Users can simply put the headphones around the neck and cherish the music from the built in speakers, this was actually related to an example during the launch: If you are driving its not possible to put the headphone on because its not safe, so the Speaker Mode can be handy at that time and in various other scenarios.
The Speaker Mode on the device has xLOUD which enhances the volume which provides a dynamic sound using the internal speakers. The Virtualphones Technology makes it possible for the device to produce natural sound. A design patent registered with Korean authorities shows an electronic device in the form of spectacles. It has been categorized as a type of sports glasses.
This design is of a type with earphones integrated, allowing to take phone calls and listen to music during workouts,” according to patent filed by Samsung earlier this year. The device is supposed to connect to a smartphone and display alerts for information on the phone. The device features a lens that is either transparent or translucent, as claimed. Micromax has unveiled its first smartphone with full-HD display, the Canvas Turbo is priced at 19990 INR. The device will be available in the markets by this weekend.
The Micromax Canvas Turbo sports a a 5 inch full-HD dsiplay with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Hugh Jackman promoted device runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor. Canvas turbo has a 2 GB of RAM coupled with a 16 GB of inbuilt storage.
Commenting on the launch, Rahul Sharma, Co-founder, Micromax said, “At Micromax, our focus has always been to keep innovating to democratize technology for masses by offering seamless experience through a combination of great hardware and enhanced software capabilities. Canvas Turbo further builds on our promise to constantly empower our users with superior technology. The device features a 13 MP rear autofocus camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Canvas Turbo is packed with a 2000 mAh battery. Few inbuilt applications on the phone are BBM, hike, Spuul, Kingsoft Office, M!Security, M!Unlock, M!Live and Game-hub. The device supports one Micro SIM and other standard SIM size: Dual SIM.
The fully aluminium made device will be available starting 26 October and will be sold in two colors blue and white.
Samsung has sold more than 40 Million Galaxy S4 in 6 months of its launch. Earlier, Samsung sold 38 million of its Note devices, now with the S4 company has reached a new milestone.
It sure is an achievement for the company but Samsung might have assumed this already, as the first month sales for the device itself was 10 Million units. JK Shin, did not reveal the brake down of the sales, but the S4 golden was probably not the show stealer here as it was only available in a limited market. Whereas, the company further updated the product through a firmware tweak which allowed the device to connect with the wearable Galaxy Gear.
BlackBerry has launched the Z30 for the Indian market today at a price of 39990 INR. The Blackberry Z30 will be available in the Indian market starting early next week.
The BlackBerry Z30 is the flagship and the biggest smartphone in BlackBerry’s range of phones, it is a phablet like device. The device features a 5 inch Super AMOLED display and is powered with a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Quad Core Adreno 320 GPU. BlackBerry also focused on the BBM for all transition and said it is now officially available for iOS and Android devices and the response is overwhelming.

BlackBerry has rolled out BlackBerry 10.2 which will be out for BlackBerry Z10 and Q10. These devices are supposed to get the update starting this week, the update will bring a lot of new features including BlackBerry Priority Hub, BlackBerry Natural Sound for BBM and many other improvements as noted by the company.
The new features included in the latest update from BlackBerry will allow users to look forward to the new BB Priority Hub which organizes user communications according to importance, message previews throughout the user interface and the lockscreen, and the ability to reply directly to BBM notifications.
To update your BlackBerry smartphone to BlackBerry 10.2 software, look for the alert in the notifications section of the BlackBerry Hub. You can also check for software updates through the System Settings menu and selecting Software Updates. Apple yesterday announced a flurry of new products from the new iPad Air to the iPad Mini with Retina Display, brand new Mac Pro and a revamped Macbook Pro with retina display. Possibly the most subtle and less talked about are the software launches. Apple launched the new Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and 7 new applications including a revamp of popular iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band which made the iLife suite and work based Pages, Numbers and Keynote which made the iWork suite. The best part being the fact that all of the above comes free to Mac owners.
Logically all these Apps and Operating System updates are meant for consumption on Apple products, and by making these crucial applications and a major Operating System update free, Apple may have stirred the industry and the likes of Microsoft who basically survive by selling their operating systems and apps.

Prices of Apple’s Mac OS X have dropped in cost considerably over the years. Apple charged users US $129 for four main OS updates, then Apple dropped the operating system’s upgrade price to $29 with 2009’s OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and then to $19 with last year’s OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Microsoft was forced to lower the price of its expensive Windows 8 to a mere US $ 29 to compete with Apple last year, where the Redmond company offered its previous OS owners a cheaper upgrade to the new Operating System. However post a golden period the price was returned to a whopping US $ 199 which the company charges for their PRO variant of Windows 8. Microsoft this year however offered Windows 8.1 as a free upgrade to Windows 8 owners, and while many may call it an incremental upgrade, Microsoft continues to claim that Windows 8.1 is a major software overhaul which is “worthy of a price tag”.
Back in the 80’s software was a part of commuters as a vertically integrated product. Apple with OS X Mavericks has suddenly sprung that era into present day. Since Apple is the only company that manufactures hardware for their software or vice versa, it makes sense for the company to gain profit from hardware sales and make the software free. In essence the user sees it as a freebie especially since it had a price tag prior to it being free.
Apple has also ensured that anyone with a Mac computer upto 4 years ago can update to the new Mac OS X Mavericks, which will make old owners of Apple computers happy, since they won’t need to spend money for new operating systems each year.
What’s more, Apple has also enabled users to get Apple own apps like the iLIfe suite and iWork suite free of cost, making it a boon for students and daily users. Apple used to drive huge profits from selling applications and operating system upgrades. Most people don’t upgrade their Operating Systems till they buy a new computer, Apple however has sort of changed that, or has tried to change it. Just like software updates on the iPhone that drove more than 80% iPhone owners to upgrade to iOS 7, it is expected that a whole chunk of Mac owners have probably already upgraded to Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, or plan to over the weekend.

The upgrade process is simple, hit the Mac App Store download the Mavericks installer, run the installer and about 20 minutes later you are upgraded. As Steve Jobs would say “It just Works!”, exactly how upgrading a modern operating system should feel like. It gets done with the minimal of fuss and fanfare, and then the operating system steps aside and lets the user get back to work.

The Micromax Canvas Magnus besides being pronounced as a rhyme also features a 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage which is expandable via Micro SD. The device features a 12 MP primary camera accompanied with a LED flash, a 2 MP secondary camera. The device is packed with 2000 mAh battery, connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS, and 3G. The device also support Dual SIM.
No word on availability as the company has not officially revealed the device yet, they might be buzy with the upcoming Canvas Turbo.
