Xiaomi No Longer Exclusive With Flipkart; Partners with Snapdeal and Amazon

On the occasion of completing five years Xiaomi announced that it will be joining hands with Snapdeal and Amazon as the company’s distribution partners. This means that along with Flipkart, the Mobile Store and the Bharti Airtel stores, Xiaomi products will soon be available on Snapdeal and Amazon too. We currently don’t have any information about if they’re going to stop the flash sale system just yet, though one thing is for certain – Xiaomi is here to stay.

Xiaomi entered the Indian market with the Xiaomi Mi3, which was launched on Flipkart in July 2014. Since then, the company has been releasing several handsets via Flipkart through the flash sales.

The company has also come up with a range of offers for its customers in India which will be valid only for a day, i.e., April 8th, from 12 noon to 12 midnight. As per the offers, the Xiaomi Mi 4 will get a price cut of Rs 2,000 on both, the 16GB and the 64GB variant. Buyers who purchase the Redmi Note 4G from online partners, Flipkart, Snapdeal or Amazon, will receive a Mi in-ear headphones for free. If the same is purchased from the Airtel or The Mobile Store, the buyer will receive a 5,200mAh Mi Power Bank for free.

Pricing of Huawei’s Premium Smartwatch Revealed

The Chinese electronics producer Huawei, at the Mobile World Congress, announced its first Android-powered smartwatch last week. It was a wearable with timeless design and with all the major elements required to make a high-end watch. The Huawei Watch has finally got a price tag and as per Amazon.de, the wearable can be grabbed at €999 ($1,080 = more than Rs. 67,500).

The company was careful at the Mobile World Congress revealing only the basic information about the Watch, and not the price and availability. But through the Amazon listing, it is evident that all the three variants of the Huawei Watch (black, silver, and gold) will cost €999 with prime shipping.

Meanwhile, the e-commerce website doesn’t state any details about its release date. Moreover, it is little dubious of the three variants having the same price range, as gold and silver edition were expected to be priced a little higher than the black version.

Recalling the features,the Huawei Watch is undoubtedly an excellent choice and incorporates a sapphire crystal display that is absent is many smartwatches. A 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, along with 512MB is equipped with the device. Flagship-Killer OnePlus One to Go Invite-Free for a Day in India

All OnePlus One fans, hold your breath. The flagship killer is going on open sale tomorrow on Amazon India. The handset will be available without an invite on 10th February and the sale will kick off at 10am IST.

The company confirmed the same via Twitter saying –

There is no announcement about the number of units going up for sale, however, the company has hinted limited stock with the statement ’till stock lasts’.

Amazon India egged the willing customers to hurry with the statement, “The sale would be for limited quantity which is expected to run out quickly given the high demand for the phone.” The flagship One will be available for Rs. 21,999 for the 64 GB model.

OnePlus embarked on similar sales in other countries, but Indians haven’t had the opportunity to buy it without an invite. It’s the first time the One smartphones are going on open sale in our country.

Alibaba Tests Drone Delivery Service in China

Drone technology has taken the market by a blow. And why not, there are endless possibilities through which this technique can come to use. Now, e-commerce giant, Alibaba is set up to try drone technology for deliveries in China.

Alibaba is partnering with Shanghai YTO Express Logistics to deliver ginger tea packets to the customers who volunteered for the drone test. The remote-controlled drones will transfer packages to 450 Chinese customers today in Beijing. These drones will fly from the warehouse of Shanghai YTO Express Logistics to different destinations. A deliveryman will stand at the final spot waiting for the parcel and as soon as the drone delivers the packet, the deliveryman on the ground will hand it over to the end customer.

Alibaba’s flagship consumer-to-consumer platform Taobao said in a statement –

The company says they have notified Chinese Aviation Administration about the unmanned commercial flights as per the regulations issued in 2009.

Amazon Offers Gift Coupons Instead of Refunds for the Yureka Price Glitch

The much-awaited Yu Yureka went on sale but not without some issues. The folks at YU claimed to have sold 10,000 devices in 3 seconds, but some users reported that the company only sold around 3,000 devices. Then a technical glitch at Amazon led to some users getting a price of Rs.12,499 instead of the original price of Rs.8,999. Amazon said that it will compensate for the heightened prices. But the compensation, which was given in the form of Amazon gift certificates, has enraged the buyers.

A screenshot of an email received by an Facebook user from Amazon has been doing rounds on social media. It shows the company offering a gift certificate instead of a refund. The gift certificate is said to work across all Amazon services like Kindle eBooks and apps. It seems Amazon doesn’t realize yet that when Indians say they want their money back, they mean they need their ‘money back’. A gift certificate or store credit is just not an option.

Amazon shouldn’t have a lot of issue in refunding back the money. As the monetary transaction was done digitally it, would have been rather easy for the company to return it back to the original account.

It’s not sure as of yet as to how many customers were affected by the glitch and both Yu and Amazon have not commented on it. The phone itself has received some favorable reviews but the glitches in sale can hamper its prospects. A second sale for the Yu Yureka will take place tomorrow, the 22nd of January at 2PM. Hopefully, Amazon is ready to take on the task this time around.

Second Batch of Yu Yureka to Go on Sale, Number of Units Undisclosed

The recently popular smartphone from the homegrown manufacturer, Yu, is again going up for sale exclusively on Amazon India. The second round of registrations has commenced, and the phone will be up for grabs on 22^nd January for a price tag of Rs. 8,999.

Micromax is imitating Xiaomi’s successful marketing scheme to entice more customers. However, last time, things didn’t go so well as Amazon India was unable to cope with the heavy rush. The first round of flash sale saw around 3 lakh registrations, but only 10,000 units were available for sale. The inadequate availability of the phone resulted in an outrage from interested buyers who were left disappointed. However, the company announced that the phone received a superb response, and the stock cleared in just 3 seconds.

Another glitch that added to the fury of the customers is that Amazon India showed the final price of Yu Yureka as Rs. 12,499 instead of the actual price (Rs. 8,999). However, the e-commerce website later apologised for the technical hitch.

As of now, there is no clue about the number of units that will go up for sale as both Micromax and Amazon are tight-lipped on the topic.

Amazon Apologises For Yu Yureka Price Glitch

E-commerce website, Amazon India, on Wednesday, addressed a glitch that took place during the online sales of the Yu Yureka. The website has got exclusive online retail rights of the Yu Yureka in the country. While the phone is actually priced at Rs 8,999, some of the users were shown the price as Rs 12,499 or higher because of a technical error. The US based firm apologized for the same on Twitter and is presently working to address the customers who were impacted by it.

As of now, it is still not clear what went wrong that led to this price shoot up. The first glitch took place during the first sale of the Yu Yureka in which the company offered 10,000 units for a flash sale.

After the sale on Tuesday, YU announced that it sold off 10,000 units in just 3 seconds. However, later on, some reports alleged that only 3000 units were placed for the flash sale, and even fewer units were sold. Yu has categorically denied the allegations and stood by their stand that they sold 10,000 units.
