  • Huawei Will Soon Enter The Indian Tablet Market

Huawei Will Soon Enter The Indian Tablet Market

Huawei had just gone on stage to unveil its new Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and MediaPad M6 among its other products. The Chinese company, regardless of the restrictions by the US, still plans on expanding its business horizons on multiple fronts. A fresh report has uncovered that the tech giant will soon enter the tablet market in India.

    Huawei

Huawei will compete with the likes of Samsung, Apple and Lenovo. These companies currently have a hold over the Indian tablet market, with Samsung in a dominating lead. The South Korean manufacturer has freshly unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab A10.1 which will seek to boost tablet sales in India.

According to the source, the tablet will feature an estimated 10-inch screen size with considerable bezels at the front. Back of the device features the lone camera minus a flash at the top right corner alongside Huawei’s branding in the centre. Regulatory information can also be seen on the bottom of the back panel. Two speaker grills are found at the bottom of the tablet while the right side features the volume rockers and power button.

    Huawei

Huawei’s upcoming tablet is reportedly compatible with cellular networking, which will most likely include 4G LTE bandwidth. Unfortunately, finer details regarding the upcoming tablet are still unknown as the company has yet to make any official announcements. It is unclear if Huawei is planning a single tablet with multiple configurations or different tablet models altogether for the Indian Market.

The reception of this device by the Indian audience will be based on its pricing and offerings in regards to other companies. Huawei can make a great impact in the southeast Asian country if it can find the correct formula of value for money in the market. Furthermore, India has not had a fresh new contender in the tablet market for a while. This will make the new entry a welcomed addition, as more choice is always better for the consumers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Pictures Leaked

    note 8.0

On Monday, Samsung’s vice-president announced that the Galaxy Note 8.0 would be formally announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress at the end of February. Excitement has clearly gone around the company, enough for an alleged picture of the new device, as well as its hardware specifications, to leak online via a Twitter account of Spanish language classifieds website which has not hesitated to spread the word and win its fair share of publicity.

    note 8.0

This new size of tablet joins the plethora of other Samsung tablets, but comes in with a different design. Taking shape from the Galaxy S III and Note II, the Note 8.0 looks to be incredibly thin and has curved corners. According to the Italian site dday.it they state that “We are holding the picture of what seems to be the new Samsung tablet, do not know whether a prototype or the final version (but it seems to be).”

As for the specs, the Note 8.0 has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, a 1.6Ghz quad-core processor, 5MP camera on the back with a 1.3MP fron-facing camera, 16GB or 32GB versions (3G, Wi-Fi), runs Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean, 4600 mAh battery, 330 grams and overall dimensions are expected to be 211.3 x 136.3 x 7.95mm. Finally, the S-Pen is located at the bottom right of the Note 8.0. No word on when the 8.0 will be available or potential price points, but this will be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

According to rumours, Samsung will launch two versions of the tablet, depending on the connectivity suite. While model number GT-N5100 will have cellular data as well as Wi-Fi, the version named GT-N5110 will be a Wi-Fi-only unit. Other connectivity options in the device will be Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. The tablet is said to weigh 330gm and run on a 4,600mAh battery.

Samsung Premium Suite Coming To Galaxy Note 10.1 in JB Update

    galaxy note 10.1

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1’s software is about to get a lot more useful, thanks to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the company’s “Premium Suite” of apps.

The original Galaxy Note got the same boost when it was updated to Ice Cream Sandwich from Gingerbread earlier this year, and the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 update promises truly useful inclusions.

Perhaps most importantly, the two-window multitasking, which wasn’t multitasking at all but merely two apps loaded side-by-side, will be changed to Samsung’s Multi Window feature. This allows up to 16 separate apps to be open at the same time (remember, the Note 10.1 has 2GB of RAM), each of which can be resized and pinned to a side of the tablet. This allows for real multitasking, something we’ve yet to see on a tablet.

Samsung is also bringing its S Pen preview feature, Air View, to the Galaxy Note 10.1 with Jelly Bean. This allows users to hover above a photo album and preview its contents or, better yet, check ahead in a video clip without interrupting it.

Premium Suite will also include Adobe’s Photoshop Touch, as well as existing S Pen-based tools such as Knowledge Search, Easy Clip, Colour Picker as well as Shape and Formula Match.

  • Skype 3.0 for Android Launched, New Tablet Interface, Better Voice Quality

Skype 3.0 for Android Launched, New Tablet Interface, Better Voice Quality

    skype

Microsoft’s newest big-time brand, Skype, has just been updated to version 3.0 for Android. With it comes a brand new interface for tablets, though Microsoft didn’t seem to think that anyone uses a Nexus 7 since the frame is forced into landscape mode. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update.

Much like the desktop client or iPad application, the new Android version offers a two-column approach aimed at simplifying multitasking. For example, users can now easily access IM messages without leaving a video call.

The claim to improved sound is credible. The variability of Skype’s audio makes it hard to pin down, but apparently there’s a better audio codec called SILK which copes with varying speeds and improves the capture of deep, bassy, tones, like those of Morgan Freeman.

  • 5 Million Google Nexus 7 Units Expected To Be Shipped In 2012

5 Million Google Nexus 7 Units Expected To Be Shipped In 2012

     nexus 7

David Chang, ASUS’ CFO, stated last month that shipments of the Nexus 7 were initially slow, popping in around “500K units a month, then maybe 600, 700K.” He then declared October was a breakout month with shipments getting “close to one million.”

With the recent release of the 32GB Nexus 7 and 32GB 3G version you can expect interest to peak, especially at their low-cost price points. News today from an overseas report in DigiTimes claims that their supply chain sources believe that Nexus 7 shipments – all models – will reach 5 million units by year end. That’s not to hard to imagine as the above numbers total 2.8 million, so another 2.2 million in the next couple months is certainly possible.

It’s no secret that a lot of the tablet’s success is down to it’s brilliant pricing. For what you get with the Nexus 7, it’s incredible value for money and a price that no other Android tablet has yet matched. At it’s current pricing, you can get the Nexus 7 with 16GB of storage for $199 and the 32GB model for $249. As of last week there’s the addition of the 32GB Nexus 7 with 3G connectivity for $299, which is pretty cheap for a tablet of its specs with 3G, often the premium for 3G is a lot higher on tablets.

The tablet comes with 7-inch IPS display screen with a 1280×800 resolution and is powered by 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. Other features of the tablet include 1GB RAM, 1.2-megapixel front camera and 4325mAh battery.

Also, Google released the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet, signalling an end to the 8GB version. The 16GB  Google Nexus 7 has now taken center stage in Google’s Play Store, with $199 netting you a slate that’s currently boasting a “now shipping” status. Those willing to fork out $249 can get a 32GB model (also listed as “In Stock”), while $299 provides access to a GSM-enabled 32GB model that’ll hop onto cellular networks — unfortunately, that one’s listed as “coming soon.”

And last but not least, out comes the iPad rival from Google’s stable, the Google Nexus 10. The new tablet, built in collaboration with Samsung, has one big bragging point — the highest resolution display of any tablet on the market — a 2560 x 1600, 300ppi, 10-inch touchscreen. Google promises about 9 hours of continuous video playback and about 500 hours of standby time. Despite being a Nexus device, the new tablet picks up on the design language of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1. It features a pair of front-facing stereo speakers on either side of the display (when it’s held in a landscape orientation) plus an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front camera for video chats. Under the hood, there’s a dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and built-in NFC. It also gets a built-in micro-HDMI port.

Amazon will launch second Kindle Fire tablet on 6 September

Amazon.com Inc is having a press conference on 6 September near Los Angeles, said an invitation sent out on Thursday by the world’s largest Internet retailer. Rumours are rife that the company will use the event to unveil its new Kindle Fire tablet, which is expected to see a release in the UK later this year.

While mooted specifications are still few and far between, there are whispers that the Amazon Kindle Fire could feature a larger 10in screen and run a heavily tweaked version of Android. It is also expected to come with a front-facing video calling camera plus microUSB and microHDMI ports.

Amazon launched its first tablet, the seven-inch Kindle Fire, in September 2011, its first foray into a market that is still dominated by Apple Inc’s iPad. Since then, Google Inc has launched a seven-inch tablet called Nexus 7, which has been selling well.

  • Sony Xperia Tablet Images and Specification Leaked

Sony Xperia Tablet Images and Specification Leaked

The IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany seems to be the ground center for several new devices that run on Google’s Android mobile operating system. Samsung is probably one of the most-discussed companies that are expected to launch new smartphones at the event, but Sony doesn’t fall too far behind.

If rumors are anything to go by, the Japanese electronics giant has three smartphones and one tablet lined up for this event.

This Xperia-branded tablet has earlier leaked via a set of slides, which detailed some very attractive specifications. A 9.4-inch 1280 x 800 screen can be seen up front, while a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset provides the power. It boasts an 8-megapixel and a 1-megapixel camera, a 6,000mAh battery that promises up to 10 hours of endurance, and wireless connectivity options that include 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi. Models with 16, 32 and 64GB of internal storage will be available.

Ice Cream Sandwich should be the most likely operating system of the device, but the presentation leaves open the possibility of some Jelly Bean action going on. The slides also include one with pricing details for the tablets themselves as well as the planned accessories. The base price for the entry-level 16GB unit falls at $450, while the larger options tack on $100 or $200 on top.

Photos of the upcoming device also reveal an evolutionary shift from the current Sony Tablet S, which de-emphasizes the latter’s wedge shape, while keeping its folded paper-like styling cues.

Thanks to the advanced power management features of the Tegra® 3 processor and ASUS optimizations the Transformer Prime has a battery life of up to 12 hours*, but when combined with the mobile dock, it lasts up to an incredible 18 hours*, the longest battery life of any current tablet. That’s enough battery life for a trans-ocean flight, all-night game session, viewing several movies on a long road trip or even video recording, editing, and then playing back your child’s school play all in 1080P HD clarity.

    Unrivaled Visuals
The Eee Pad Transformer Prime boasts a wide 178° viewing angle IPS display, protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass, which features new ASUS technology to enhance the brightness of the screen for a better outdoor reading experience while still offering a remarkably vivid and brilliant viewing experience of photos, books, videos, movies and web pages indoors. Thanks to Multi-Touch technology, you can use your fingers to do everything from swiping through photos, surfing the web, playing the latest games, typing emails, instant messaging, reading books or magazines, and starting your favorite movie.

A 1.2MP front camera allows for instant photos or high-quality video conferencing with friends, family or coworkers while an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash takes brilliant photos or video thanks to a large F2.4 aperture, back illuminated CMOS sensor, touch-to-focus depth of field and low-light noise reduction to provide the clearest and sharpest photos or even 1080P HD videos.

    Advanced Audio
The Transformer Prime offers impressive audio capabilities in a tablet, powered by ASUS exclusive SonicMaster technology, renowned for crisp and acoustically accurate audio. It produces crystal clear sound with a wide sound stage, increased audio fidelity, and distinct vocal enhancements for an immersive audio experience with your favorite music track, video, or movie.

    Unlimited Productivity
The Transformer Prime is offered with either 32GB or 64B flash storage options for quick, efficient and reliable access to your applications. Both models feature a micro SD card slot, 3.5mm combo audio jack and micro HDMI port so sharing both what’s inside and on-screen is quick and easy. However, the function that gives the Transformer Prime its namesake is the mobile dock, which gives new meaning to the term versatility. This innovative and convenient design seamlessly provides the user with a keyboard and touchpad, along with limitless expandability options via the USB port and SD card slot.

ASUS will include several innovative applications like SuperNote that is fantastic for its ability to take, draw or record notes and Polaris® Office which is great for staying productive with the ability to read, edit or create Word, Excel and PowerPoint (MS Office 97-2007) compatible files. Thousands of top rated applications and games are also available at Android Market that fully takes advantage of the Transformer Prime’s amazing features and power.
