Huawei Ascend P6 a 4.7 inch HD display Phone Launched at 29999 INR

Huawei has launched its new smartphone, the Ascend P6 in India and is priced at 29999 INR. This flagship from the company is expected to be available soon in the Indian market and can be seen on few online retailers as well.

The Company claims the device to be the slimmest phone in world, as the device has a width of 6.2 mm and weighs just 120 grams. The Huawei Ascend P6 features a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The dvice is powered by company’s own manufactured chipset which has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and the device runs in Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device has a 2 GB of RAM and a 8 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. The Huawei Ascend P6 sports a 8 MP primary camera F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro view with a BSI sensor which can do full HD video, secondary camera on the device is 5 MP.

The device is packed with a 2000 mAh battery and will be available in three color options: Pink, Black and White. The device seems to gave some decent specifications but the price tag seems a bit high.

What to Buy : Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Galaxy Note 2

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India for a price of Rs. 49900 (roughly translated to “more than most can afford”) and is now available throughout India. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a new design over its predecessor boasting a soft-touch, leather like back, along with many hardware changes that put it right in line with many flagships out there. But, at the price at which it has launched, should you go in for the Galaxy Note 3? or should you get the Galaxy Note 2? Here is where we break it down for you.

Aesthetics

The Note 3 is actually slimmer and thinner than the Galaxy Note 2 despite getting a larger 5.7-inch full HD 1920 x 1080p display. The Note 3 also appears to be squarish from the front and has a slightly raised bezel, as opposed to the roundish bezel on the Galaxy Note 2.

The new leather look back panel on the Note 3 definitely adds a lot more premium appeal to the previous plastic and poorly constructed look. Which however, does not change the fact that the phone is still completely plastic, now its just plastic hidden behind faux leather-appearing plastic.

Hardware Comparison

Apart from the obvious differences in the specs, the major changes on the new Note 3 worth noting are, the aforementioned Full HD display, a new Exynos 5 chipset vs Exynos 4 on the Note 2 which offers an effective 1.9 GHz on Quad cores (with full octa-core functionality by December.). You also get 3 new temperature, humidity and gesture sensors, along with an additional gigabyte of RAM.

A 16GB bump in storage capacity makes the basic variant (and the only one available in India) a 32GB variant. A slightly larger 3200 mAh battery and 13 MP camera finish off the changes on hardware. Check out a comparative below.

Software

Despite most attempts by the company, most of the new features of the Galaxy Note 3 will be available on the Galaxy Note 2. Including the new Action command feature which can be executed from the S Pen.

With not a lot of difference for the end user, one would consider going for the Note 2 as it would mostly achieve all the features that one would require from a smart phone with pen functionality.

The Galaxy Note 3 is the latest flagship from the company while the Galaxy Note 2 did really well in the past and offers most of the features for the Note 3 at a considerably low price. If you really need to get the most for your money’s worth, the Galaxy Note 2 is still an impressive piece of hardware with a lot going on under the hood, it is still capable of handling every app in the Google Play store, and whatever you can throw at it. If the latest is what you must get, then consider spending a lot more for the newest Note 3.

Lenovo Launches A10 an Android Powered Convertible Laptop

Lenovo is no new to laptops, but the Lenovo A10 is the first Android powered laptop for the company. The device is a 10.1 inch notebook with a rotatable touchscreen display.

The Lenovo A10 can be used as a laptop or tablet, it features a 10.1 inch HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The device runs on Android 4.2 and is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Rockchip RK3188 Cortex-A9 processor. Lenovo A10 is packed with a 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which is further expandable via micro SD, the company claims that it offers 9 hours of battery life with continuous video playback. The device sports a VGA webcam, two USB 2.0 ports and a HDMI port.

HCL has launched its latest tablet in India, the HCL Me Champ, the tablet is targeted at ‘kids’ between 3 to 12 years of age and is available for 7999 INR.

Commenting on the launch, Gautam Advani, Global Head, Mobility Business Unit, HCL Infosystems Ltd. said, “We are very happy to launch our new ME Champ tablet specially designed for kids powered by a unique parent control feature. The much awaited cameras from Sony are now official, Sony’s new a7 and a7R digital cameras are full-frame interchangeable lens models.The company claims that these two cameras are the smallest full frame mirrorless cameras in the world and offer an unmatched combination of creativity, customizability and portability.

a7R Camera:

The camera has a 36.4 effective megapixel full frame sensor and no optical low pass filter, ensuring that the extraordinary resolving power is fully realized and resulting in an unprecedented level of detail and clarity in images. The camera features a new AF technology that delivers blazingly quick, accurate autofocus. Additionally, there are a total of three selectable sizes for the Flexible Spot AF frame, minimizing the risk of accidentally focusing on the wrong target.

The a7 camera features an advanced 24.3 effective megapixel full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor paired with the powerful new BIONZ X processor. Xolo Play Tab 7.0 With Tegra 3 Launched at 12,999 INR

Xolo has finally launched its much awaited tab in the Indian market, the Xolo Play Tab 7.0, the device is priced at 12,999 INR. The availability of the device is still not confirmed.

The Xolo Play Tab 7.0 sports a 7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels(216ppi). The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of inbuilt storage. The Xolo Play Tab runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features a 2 MP front-facing camera, surprisingly there is not rear camera on the tablet.

The Xolo Play Tab 7.0 includes a 4000 mAh battery and Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Micro-USB as connectivity options. The Xolo Play Tab 7.0 measures 194.6 x 122.6 x 10.6 mm and weighs 338 grams. Twitter’s Tablet Application Will Only Work With Samsung Devices, Rest to Follow By Year End
Twitter has an app already, but the new app we are talking about is an proper optimized Twitter application specially for tablets. The app provides a landscape view that shows both the Twitter timeline and content from expanded tweets.

Twitter claims that they have worked with Samsung to introduce some unique features for this optimized app. The new features include:
- Multi-screen view – This new view lets you run Twitter and another app at the same time. Much like the multitasking on Samsung devices.
- Twitter widget – The new Twitter widget lets you engage with Tweets, photos, and videos while also delivering country specific breaking news, music, sports and photos

The Galaxy Round has the same leather like stitching at the back of the device, and both the devices also share the same screen size, the difference is just the curve for the Galaxy Round.

The Galaxy Round is the first of its kind smartphone available in the market, for now the device is only available in Korea. However we assume that it should be available to all markets soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Round has a 5.7 inch Full HD Super Flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 386 ppi. No doubt, the Korean company said such a curved screen smartphone is the first in the world. Moving further, the Galaxy Round is packed with a 3 GB of RAM along with a 32 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 64 GB via Micro SD card. The device has a 2800 mAh of battery, which is a bit low if compared to the 3200 mAh for the Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Round is powered by a 2.3 GHz Krait 400 Quad-core processor with a Snapdragon 800 Chipset (the much awaited chipset for ‘Samsung’ devices in India) and an Adreno 330 GPU. The device sports a 13 MP camera at the back along with LED Flash and a 2 MP front camera. The 13 MP rear camera does videos at 2160p @30fps and 1080p @60fps.

The Galaxy Round is available in the Korean market and is launched in the luxury brown color for now. The device measures 151.1 x 79.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 154 grams. If we talk about the connectivity option on the Galaxy Round, we will again see something very similar to what we saw on the Galaxy Note 3 as the images of the Galaxy Round clearly shows the USB 3.0 port.

Now, we all know all these specifications and features are amazing but what is the benefit of the curved display ? the company has not made it clear either, but we did see a video that showed the roll effect which showed the battery status and other notifications by just wobbling the device around. Samsung is introducing a new feature called “Round Interaction,” which will allow users to look at information such as missed calls, battery life, and the date and time when you tilt it on a flat surface with the screen off. Samsung also claims that switching between home screens will feel like one continuous transition, and has worked on new tilt- and tap-based interactions for the music and photos apps. The phone itself doesn’t flex, but the curved or smile shape makes it more comfortable to hold, Samsung says.

Questions like, will the device be comfortable holding up to the ear while talking?, will the device fit in the pocket easily ? remains unanswered as these can only be answered when we get our hands on the device. The company has not shared its plan to launch the phone in other markets yet, but we will update you on this with time. HTC Desire 500 Dual SIM With 4.3 Inch Screen Now Listed Online

The HTC Desire 500 is listed online in few websites but is still not listed in the company’s website for India. However, the HTC Desire 500 is available for pre-order on Snapdeal, website notes that the device will be released in the first week of October. The HTC Desire 500 has also been listed on Flipkart and shows coming soon.

The HTC Desire 500 has a Quad-Core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor along with a 1 GB of RAM and comes with a 4 GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded to 64 GB via Micro SD. The device features a 4.3 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. HTC Desire 500 sports a 8 MP(BSI Sensor) main camera with LED flash and has a 1.6 MP(BSI Sensor) secondary camera. LG today launched the G2 a successor to the Nexus style Optimus G and the G Pro, the new LG G2 brings to the table what LG seems to have been missing from a long time. The LG G2 offers a mix of impressive hardware a decent design and build along with the right pricing. The initial impressions of the LG G2 are quite impressive, out the box, the device just blazes across tasks. The impressive 5.2 inch display has a minimal bezel and great visibility outdoors, the usual great viewing angles, Gorilla Glass 2 and OGS HD IPS LCD which has a full HD 1920x1080p resolution. Intex Launches Aqua HD a 4.7 Inch Smartphone at 15,900 INR

Intex has expanded its Aqua range by launching the Aqua HD in the Indian market, the device is available in the market for 15,900 INR, this price is the MRP so you can expect it to be cheaper in the markets.

The Intex Aqua HD has a 4.7 inch HD TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor along with a 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of in built storage, which can be expandable up to 32 GB via micro SD card. MTS (telecom operator) has launched a new feature phone in association with Lava, the Lava L661. The device comes bundled with MTS unlimited talk plans, the company has not detailed the talk plans for the handset. Lava L661 has been priced at Rs. 1,199.

The device has a 1.8-inch TFT screen, a micro SD card slot with expandable memory of upto 4 GB. The device supports speaker phone and has some utility features like Alarm, Calculator, Calendar, Predictive text T9, Vcard, Group SMS, Scheduler and can also be used for call conferencing. The device is powered by a 1000 mAh battery.

The company claims that the Lava L661 CDMA phone is one of the most affordable phones in the Indian market. It will be available in three colors Black, Blue and White.
