  • Apple iPad Pro 2018 Leaked

    Apple iPad Pro 2018 Leaked

The upcoming Apple iPad Pro 2018 has been leaked with full specifications and detailed renders. The iPad Pro is expected to launch in a 12.9 inch and a smaller 10.5 inch variant at the upcoming Apple Launch Event.

    Design:

From the very first glance we can see that the iPad Pro 2018 is starkly different form its earlier variants. We can see the lack of a home button, a sharper design and thin, uniform bezels around the device.

The absence of a home button could hint at the fact that the device is getting a true depth camera and Face ID.  Other than this, the lack of a headphone jack is also noted on these renders. The charging port is at the bottom middle of the device. However, this is right below the Smart Connector, which is placed on the back.

The Smart Connector is used to pair the iPad Pro with a keyboard to increase usability. The move to shift the Smart Connector to the bottom could be because of the fact that Face ID does not work horizontally. Therefore, the new iPad Pro might be used vertically, even for typing.

    Specifications:

Two variants, the 12.9 inch and 10.5 inch iPad Pro are expected this year. However, it is reported that neither of them will have an OLED, rather they will have an LCD panel.

The iPad Pro 2018 is also reported to run on the new A12X chipset. According to rumours, the A12X is going to be made using the 7nm technology which boosts performance and increased battery life. However, the devices are expected to have 4 GB of RAM, with varying storage variants going up to 512 GB.

    Additional Features:

The new iPad Pro will continue to offer Apple Pencil support, according to reports. The slimmer bezels will mean that the iPad Pro 2018 will be smaller in size, despite the same screen size as its predecessor.

    Launch and Price

The iPad Pro 12.9 2018 is expected to be launched at Apple’s annual Keynote event. The event will be held on 12th September. Reports place the 10.5 inch variant to start at Rs 54,999 and the 12.9 inch variant to start at Rs 64,999.

  • OnePlus 6 Might Cost Up To A Whopping Rs 48,999 In India

OnePlus 6 Might Cost Up To A Whopping Rs 48,999 In India

The OnePlus 6 has been in the news a lot lately. We have all the key specifications of the smartphone and even the design of the phone is not a mystery. And now, a newly leaked document talks about the pricing of the upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus. According to the document, the OnePlus 6 could cost up to Rs 48,999 for the most premium version.

This year, the company will launch the OnePlus 6 in three different variants. Two variants will be similar to the OnePlus 5T with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. These models will be priced between Rs 33,999- 36,999 and Rs 38,999-42,999, respectively. There will also be a special edition called the OnePlus 6 Premium, which will have 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and is expected to be priced between Rs 44,999- 48,999.

    OnePlus 6

OnePlus might have reasons to hike the prices of their upcoming smartphone as this is its first flagship phone with an all-glass design. However, the company might lose a large chunk of the fanbase, if the pricing is anything near the leaked prices.

Considering these price points, the OnePlus 6 will be the costliest OnePlus smartphone ever. OnePlus is known for launching flagship smartphones at an affordable price. However, these prices suggest, it will not be the same from 2018. Having said that, the OnePlus 6 will still be more affordable than most of the Snapdragon 845-powered flagship devices in India.

Apart from the OnePlus 6, the company might also launch a pair of Bluetooth earphones. Huawei also introduced its own pair of truly wireless earbuds, the Freebuds at the P20 Pro launch. It will be interesting to see what the OnePlus wireless earbuds will look like. Considering OnePlus’s history of getting inspired by Apple’s design, we won’t be surprised if the earphones look like AirPods. In fact, the leaked document does speak about these earphones, but no pricing has been mentioned.

  • Honor Could Launch The Honor 10 On The 15th Of May

Honor Could Launch The Honor 10 On The 15th Of May

Huawei recently launched its flagship Huawei P20 series of smartphones in Paris. Now, Huawei’s sub smartphone brand Honor will launch a new smartphone in London on the 15th of May. According to a leak, the company will launch the Honor 10, which will be a much more affordable alternative to the Huawei P20. The Honor 10 will have a glass back, glass front, and a metal unibody design, similar to the Huawei P20 series. Additionally, this will be the first Honor smartphone to sport a notch as well.

    Honor 10

Whether the Honor 10 will launch in India is still uncertain. But, Honor has had success in India in the recent past. Hence, the Honor 10 could launch in India as well. Pricing has been the biggest advantage for Honor. In fact, the Honor View10 was launched in India for Rs 29,999, at a much lower price than the global price of 449 Euros.

The Honor 10 will have a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display with a 2260 x 1080 px resolution. This translates to a 19:9 aspect ratio, similar to the P20 Pro. As this is will be an affordable model, we do not expect Honor to go the OLED route. Under the hood, the device will have the HiSilicon Kirin 970 Octa-core chipset with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage.

    Honor 10
    Leaked Honor 10 Images

The device will have an AI-powered dual camera setup, similar to the Huawei P20. However, the company is likely to use different camera sensors. Additionally, the device will have a bigger battery with SuperCharging capability. Since Huawei removed the headphone jack with the Mate 1o Pro and now the P20 series, Honor might follow suit, starting with the Honor 10.

  • Doogee V With In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner And iPhone X-Like Notch To Launch At MWC 2018

Doogee V With In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner And iPhone X-Like Notch To Launch At MWC 2018

Doogee is all set to launch its first smartphone with an in-screen fingerprint scanner at MWC 2018. In fact, the Doogee V uses the same technology as that of the Vivo’s recently launched Vivo X20 Plus UD. The smartphone has been officially listed on Doogee’s official website.

The Doogee V embraces a unibody glass design with a metallic frame. Similar to the iPhone X, the Doogee V also has a notch on the display which could house the hardware used for “Face ID,” as the company calls it.

    Doogee V Specifications:
    Doogee V

The Doogee V has a 6.2 inch 18:9 aspect ratio OLED display with 2160 x 1080px resolution. As this device comes with an In-screen fingerprint scanner, there are no physical or capacitive buttons on the front.

The company hasn’t mentioned any details on the chipset or the RAM it uses. In fact, these are the only factors that are yet to be known about the Doogee V. The phone offers a dual primary camera setup with a 16 MP + 8 MP sensor combination, the function of the secondary camera is yet to be known.

The single front-facing camera will also support face unlock. Interestingly, the company has used “Face ID” to describe its facial recognition system. Face ID is what Apple calls its facial recognition system on the iPhone X.

The glass back panel comes with a maze finish with support for NFC connectivity. The smartphone comes with a 4000 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging support via USB type C Port.

The image also mentions the presence of AI. Along with shrinking bezels and increasing price, many people believe that the integration of AI will be the next big thing in the smartphone industry. Therefore, we will see more smartphones with emphasis on AI in the coming weeks.

  • Aadhar Biometric Data Reportedly Compromised For Rs. 500 Over WhatsApp

Aadhar Biometric Data Reportedly Compromised For Rs. 500 Over WhatsApp

Aadhar, the unique identification number allotted and maintained by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was started in 2009 and is the largest database of privacy information including biometrics that include fingerprints, and iris scans of billions of Indians. The database also includes pictures, addresses and private information of all the individuals registered on the database.

It is estimated that over 1.2 Billion people have already resisted for the Aadhar number, however, it has not been without problems. Initially there was political push back for the Unique ID system which was intended to allow Indian residents easy access to social programs for healthcare, education, and general welfare. However the program received a major push under Prime Minister Narender Modi and BJP’s political reign in the Center since 2014.

130 Million records of the Aadhar number were reportedly breached in Q1 of 2017, while UIDAI had claimed that they had rectified the breach, the data of this leak was already out on the Internet, available as access records for the millions of accounts.

A journalist at the Tribune Newspaper, claims to have bought access to a User Name and Password that allowed him unrestricted access to details for any of the more than 1 billion Aadhaar numbers created in India thus far. More importantly, this was provided in less than 10 minutes over a WhatsApp chat, after a PayTM transfer of a mere Rs. 500.

Lo and behold, you could enter any Aadhaar number in the portal, and instantly get all particulars that an individual may have submitted to the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), including name, address, postal code (PIN), photo, phone number and email.

Interestingly the Tribune team claims to have paid another Rs 300, for which this remote agent provided “software” that could facilitate the printing of the Aadhaar card after entering the Aadhaar number of any individual.

Claiming more damage, the Tribune , which started investigation into this matter reveals that the racket has been ongoing for over six months and over 1 lakh illegal users have had access to this database for a lowly price of a mere Rs. 500 / US $ 8 (approx). The WhatsApp groups gained access to the records thanks to being able to tap into over 3 lakh village-level enterprise (VLE) operators hired by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, who were willing to part with their access for a small payout.

Even though, the VLE were rendered Idle in November of 2016 while their jobs were removed, they continued to have access to the large databases available on their access systems. The Tribune further claims that the hackers seemed to have gained access to the website of the Government of Rajasthan, as the “software” provided access to “aadhaar.rajasthan.gov.in”, through which one could access and print Aadhaar cards of any Indian citizen.

With the Government, Banks and Telecom Providers harassing individuals to link their Aadhar numbers with their accounts and services, the breach of privacy is unprecedented. The case against the invasion and lack of security around the right to privacy of Indians is already pending in the Supreme Court of India with a hearing expected in Feb 2018.

Here is the Full Chat between the journalist and agent below.

    • 12:30 pm: This correspondent posing as ‘Anamika’ contacted a person on WhatsApp number 7610063464, who introduced himself as ‘Anil Kumar’. He was asked to create an access portal.
    • 12:32pm: Kumar asked for a name, email ID and mobile number, and also asked for Rs 500 to be credited in his Paytm No. 7610063464.
    • 12:35 pm: This correspondent created an email ID, [email protected], and sent mobile number ******5852 to the anonymous agent.
    • 12:48 pm: Rs 500 transferred through Paytm.
    • 12:49 pm: This correspondent received an email saying, “You have been enrolled as Enrolment Agency Administrator for ‘CSC SPV’. Your Enrolment Agency Administrator ID is ‘Anamika_6677’.” Also, it was said that a password would be sent in a separate mail, which followed shortly.
    • 12:50 pm: This correspondent had access to the Aadhaar details of every Indian citizen registered with the UIDAI.

The UIDAI has responded to The Tribune’s  story by claiming it to be “misreporting” and baseless, however, the publication has responded with concrete facts on the matter which can be read here.

Th BJP has also responded in a manner which seems to mimic a certain leader of the free world. Their tweet can be found below.

  • This is The Best Look At The Galaxy S8 So Far

This is The Best Look At The Galaxy S8 So Far

Samsung has made a lot of official announcements for the launch of the Galaxy S8 and possibly the S8 Plus, the phones that will mark a comeback after a 6 month lull for the company. The phones are expected to launch on March 29th, and if leaks are anything to go by the phones are going to be pretty impressive.

Samsung is working on a design that will stretch the display on both sides making the screen to body ratio of the phone pretty impressive, and near the 90% mark. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus will also have the latest Snapdragon 835 along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 Gb of onboard storage with microSD expandability.

The company may not launch the S8 with dual cameras, and keep that feature an exclusive for the Galaxy S8 Plus. A new image leaked by evleaks points to what is possibly the best look yet at the new Galaxy S8 . If we merge Samsung’s teasers with the image tweeted by evleaks, the similarities are uncanny. Check out the merged image below.

  • iPhone 8 Leak Shows that the Smaller iPhone will have a Bigger Screen and No Home Button

iPhone 8 Leak Shows that the Smaller iPhone will have a Bigger Screen and No Home Button

New leaked design renders from KGI securities show that the iPhone 8/ iPhone X, which will possibly be the next iPhone from Apple, and also the 10th anniversary iPhone from the company, will have a larger screen in the same form factor.

The iPhone 7 has a 4.7 inch display with an IPS LCD panel along with the home button below the display. The iPhone 8 however will feature a 5.15 inch OLED panel according to the information in the image and will hide the home button behind a bar of fiction keys, much like the touch bar on the latest MacBook.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that the real size of the display will be around 5.8 inches however the display area will be only 5.15 inches while retaining the iPhone 7 form factor. The next iPhone much like previous leaks suggest will hide the home button and fingerprint scanner in all entirety being the OLED panel allowing for a larger appearing display.

The reports also mention Apple may also completely do away with touch ID for an alternative form of verification like facial or iris recognition, which was seen on the Galaxy Note 7 ( oh, the Galaxy Note 7, how you are missed !) . It seems unlikely that apple will kill possibly the most used thing on iPhones, i.e the touch ID.

However, this will not be the only iPhone launched in 2017, but, one of the 3 phones that launch this year. The other two will be identical in design and screen dimensions like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus, possibly with improved specifications.

  • Moto G5 and G5 Plus to Be Cheaper and Made out of Metal

Moto G5 and G5 Plus to Be Cheaper and Made out of Metal

Lenovo Owned Moto is gunning for the glory of their best selling handset as the prepare the revision for 2017. The Moto G5 and G5 plus said to succeed the Moto G4 and G4 plus and to be launched at MWC 2017 will bring about a lot of changes for the category hit.

Lenovo will reduce the pricing in certain regions of the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. The Moto G5 will be available in 2GB + 16GB for 189 Euro and 3GB + 16GB for 209 Euro which is considerably lower than the 240 Euro price for the Moto G4. What is interesting is that Lenovo may do this by supplementing the Snapdragon chipset with a cheaper Mediatek chipset, a move that may not go down well with the fans of the Moto G series.

Previous leaks tell us that the Moto G5 will have a 1.7 aperture equipped Sony IMX362 primary camera sensor with PDAF and a 5.2 inch 1080p display with a 3000 mAh battery. Images show that the fingerprint sensor will remain in the front along with an all metal unibody design, which is much like the Moto M. The Snapdragon chipset might still be in play in sensitive markets like India, however, prices may be increased.

The Moto G5 launch is said to happen on Feb 26th and the phone is expected to launch in India a week post the MWC announcement. Expect pricing to fall well under the Rs. 15000 price mark.

  • Moto G5 Plus to Launch in India in March 2017, Priced Rs. 14,999

Moto G5 Plus to Launch in India in March 2017, Priced Rs. 14,999

Moto’s next G series phone the Moto G5 Plus is headed to the Indian market early 2017. The Moto G4 was an extremely successful smartphone for the company and with the Moto G5 Plus, Lenovo owned Moto may be changing the design a little bit. Some leaks have already shown of renders of the phone and what appear to be leaked pictures.

However, some exclusive information gathered by iGyaan reveals that the Moto G5 is expected to show up with a Moto M style construction where the use of metals may be liberal. The Moto G5 Plus will sport a 1920 x 1080 p display with a 5.5 inch screen size. Running on a Snapdragon chipset the Moto G5 Plus will also come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB storage options.

Moto will not be skimming on sensors as a new design fingerprint scanner will appear on the front of the Moto G5 Plus along with gyro, accelerometer, magnetometer and NFC capabilities. The Moto G5 Plus will also sport impressive battery life and turbo charging for a battery which will be 3000 mAh +.

The Moto G5 Plus will also sport a 12 MP main and an 8 MP front camera, both capable of 1080p video while the rear camera will offer manual shooting modes and slo-mo video capabilities. Moto will launch the Moto G5 Plus with Android 7 Nougat out of the box and will be updated to Android 7.1.1 soon after.

The Moto G5 Plus will launch at Rs. 14,999 and will be available in several variants, namely the Moto G5 plus, Moto G5 and Moto G5 Play , which will be launched in subsequent months with basic changes to specs. The Moto G5 Plus is expected to launch with two confirmed colour options of silver and gold along with a possible matte black variant.

  • New leaked Image Of The Samsung Galaxy S8 Shows No Home Button and Dual Edge Display

New leaked Image Of The Samsung Galaxy S8 Shows No Home Button and Dual Edge Display

Samsung may have to make some hard choices this year with their Samsung Galaxy S8. Rumors are already pointing to the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack and the inclusion of the wireless headphones. Samsung may have a lot of disappointed fans due to this move. But, just like with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, consumers will move on from this.

The new image leak of the Samsung Galaxy S8 from Chinese website notorious for leaks indicates a thin top and bottom bezel on a the old dual edge display, except this time there is no home button and fingerprint scanner. If the image is an actual leak, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could very well be the first phone with a fingerprint sensor that sits behind the display, hence, removing the need of a separate component.

If the design is real, and it appears to be either real or an exceptionally good replica, then the Samsung Galaxy S8 may also lack touch capacitive buttons and utilize on-screen buttons from the Android OS. Alternatively the controls could be on either side of the Samsung logo seen at the bottom.

  • New LG G6 Renders Show That Modular Design is Not for LG

New LG G6 Renders Show That Modular Design is Not for LG

LG may have had a fantastic idea for modular phones in 2016. But, in failing to execute it well, it seems that the Sort Korean electronics giant is ready to drop it’s modular design for the next generation of LG flagship the G6. New leaked renders of the LG G6 show an all new design of the smartphone. taking design hues from the LG V20 and keeping a lot of the design of the LG G5.

The renders show off a unibody design with a color scheme to match the new iPhone jet black color, with a glossy black finish. LG has played with self healing paint in the past and the company might implement this on the LG G6 as well, to take care of the notorious scratches that the iPhone Jet Black color is known for.

The LG G6 is also expected to be water resistant and offer a 5.3 in QHD display mixed with newer chipsets like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 6 GB of RAM. LG will also launch the phone early March to stand against the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

  • Android 7.0 Nougat For OnePlus One and Android 7.1 to OnePlus Two and OnePlus 3 Soon

Android 7.0 Nougat For OnePlus One and Android 7.1 to OnePlus Two and OnePlus 3 Soon

The refresh cycles of OnePlus handsets have been poorly placed and the company has usually taken a long while to push Android updates to their devices. However, that may change with the Nougat release.

Benchmarking websites are recording data from the OnePlus One, OnePlus Two and OnePlus 3 with Android 7.0 and 7.1 Nougat installed.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, which is featured on the OnePlus One is considered to be not compatible with the Vulcan API required for Nougat. However, it could simply be a test install without the Vulcan Graphics API, or the company may be working on a final build for its users.

According to Geekbench, the OnePlus One gets a Single core score of 976 and a Multicore score of 2521 while on Android Nougat 7.0

    oneplus-1-android-nougat-759

The OnePlus Two on the other hand was found running both Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 scoring 1168 on Single core on Android 7.0 and a score of 715 on Single Core on Android 7.1, while multicore ranges from 2922 on 7.0 to 2694 on 7.1. Meaning that the Android 7.1 build is not very stable and possibly is still being worked on.

OnePlus 3 is showing an impressive score while on Android 7.1 for Single-core reaches 1747 and a score of 4007 for Multi-core.

    oneplus-3-android-7-1

The push update for the OnePlus Two with Nougat could be bundled with the OTA update said to enable VoLTE on the handset. The company may also enable the support for OnePlus X and OnePlus One, but no official word for that has been given out.

The OnePlus 3 may be phased out for an intermittent handset called the OnePlus 3T which will be designed around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and will launch in December.

  • OnePlus 3T To Have Snapdragon 821 Upto 128 GB Storage and Dual Cameras

OnePlus 3T To Have Snapdragon 821 Upto 128 GB Storage and Dual Cameras

OnePlus may be working on a dual camera phone of their own. The OnePlus 3T hit the rumour mill a few days back however, information has been scanty. Reports of a Snapdragon 821 chipset have emerged from various sources and one of the OnePlus designers has posted on their Weibo account using the device.

The OnePlus 3t comes after reports that OnePlus has stopped the 3’s production and is working towards a new device due to unavailability of the AMOLED displays. Carl Pei, the company’s founder claimed that AMOLED is the way ahead via a tweet, but the reality of manufacturing for sustained periods may be limited due to stock availability.  However the OnePlus 3t is expected to continue the Optic AMOLED display along with storage options up to 128 GB.

Rumours that the company is working on a dual camera phone may also tie in with the OnePlus 3t, or could be for a separate device all together. OnePlus will retain the unibody design that everyone has appreciated and also the Dash Charge capability.
