Apple Quietly Updates The Macbook Air And 13 Inch Macbook Pro With Touch Bar

In the year 2019, Apple has already upgraded a number of existing Mac computers which include the 15 inch MacBook notebook computer and the iMac desktop computer. On the 10th of July, the company silently refreshed the 13 inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air with an upgraded display and 8th Gen Intel CPUs. Also, the company has reduced the price of the device to rake in more customers and boost sales. Besides, the 12 inch MacBook which was first unveiled in 2015 has been discontinued.

Like the MacBook Air 2019, the MacBook Pro 13 features a 13.3-inch Retina display with a pixel density of 227 ppi. The laptop can be configured with two different Intel Core i5 chipsets. Both options have a quad-core  CPU that features 128 MB of eDRAM. For further enhancing the security on the laptop, it features Apple’s in-house developed T2 security chip. The secondary chip is used for safely securing sensitive user data like passwords and fingerprint information. According to Apple, this chip combines an additional level of security which is virtually unable to be cracked via brute-forcing.

MacBook Pro 13 Touch Bar Top ViewThe highlighting feature of the 2019 MacBook Pro 13 is the addition of the Touch Bar with integrated Touch ID which was first seen on the 2015 MacBook Pro in 2016. The laptop is equipped with a large force touch trackpad which also supports multi-touch gestures.

As the name suggests, the Touch Bar is an elongated touchscreen display placed right above the keyboard keys. The feature is aimed towards replacing the conventional control buttons with a more interactive and modern approach. The Touch Bar can be used to regulate several functionalities like volume and brightness controls on the MacBook. In addition, it can also be used to toggle the most used or favourite apps with a simple tap.

The MacBook 2013 is offered with 8 GB of RAM which can be paired with either 128 GB or 256 GB of PCIe based SSD. The storage is non-user-replaceable, therefore, it cannot be replaced or upgraded at a later stage. Therefore, users must carefully select storage capacity at the time of purchasing the laptop.

Apple To Launch A Cheaper MacBook Air In 2018

The MacBook Air was originally launched in early 2008, which was highly appreciated for the design and a longer-lasting battery. In fact, the 2017 MacBook Air still resembles the original model, which was designed to fit inside an office-folder.

A report suggests that Apple might launch a more affordable MacBook Air in Q2 of 2018. The company will be able to improve MacBook shipments by 10 to 15%. In fact, Apple is expected to launch the newer model at the WWDC 2018.

The entry-level MacBook Air is priced at $999, which is the choice of notebook for the most of the college-going students. However, there were no major improvements in the last few iteration, as Apple is focusing on the 12-inch MacBook and the MacBook Pro. The report also claims that Apple is also expected to launch three new iPhones with Face ID. Similarly, the company is also expected to launch a new version of AirPods.

Under the hood, the notebook is expected to be powered by the Intel 8th Gen Core i5 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB PCIe SSD storage. However, the report doesn’t say anything in particular about the hardware specifications.

The notebook is expected to retain all the ports, including 2x USB-A, SD card reader, and a mini display port. However, Apple might also go with the latest trend to offer a complete USB type C solution like the MacBook Pro lineup.

The notebook is expected to have a similar battery life as of the current MacBook Air with support for MagSafe 2. The device will be based on macOS High Sierra operating system.

  • 2016 MacBook Range Set for a Possible June 13 Unveiling

2016 MacBook Range Set for a Possible June 13 Unveiling

Apple updated its MacBook range during this time last year, and fans and industry experts expect the tech giant to do the same this year too. Unlike how things have gone for the iPhone, Apple has managed to keep a tight lid on the information leaking out of Cupertino for its range of MacBooks.

But from whatever little is known courtesy of reports circulating on the Internet, one big upgrade that the 2016 MacBook range will see the inclusion of newer Skylake processors up from the present fifth-generation Broadwell chipsets. This upgrade could be significant in the sense that it will bring to the new lineup better performance with its improved hyperthreading architecture.

    macbook-portss-bleed

Additionally, for devices such as the MacBook Pro range the Skylake mobile CPUs are expected to deliver up to 2.5 times faster processing performance, 30 times better graphics performance, and three times the battery life of earlier generation processors owing to the 14nm chips used for manufacturing them.

To top it off Integrating Skylake will also allow the company’s complete lineup to run on the same core hardware from end to end, thus making life a lot easier for prospective customers around the globe.

Though there were rumors earlier of major design change, but such chatter has quietened a bit off late, and it is expected when it comes to aesthetic design no remodeling to the upcoming MacBooks will be seen.

Reports peg Apple to introduce the revamped MacBook lineup  at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, and possibly a larger 15-inch version could also be unveiled sometime in March which would be some surprise.

  • The Next MacBook Will Be Thinner and Sleeker

The Next MacBook Will Be Thinner and Sleeker

With almost all companies showing off their best innovations in the ongoing Consumer Electronic Show, the Cupertino-based giant Apple is geared to showcase its best product. The company is reportedly working on a prototype of the new MacBook Air, which will be launched in 2015. The upcoming 12-inch Air will be even thinner than its predecessors; believe it if you can!

An authentic source 9to5mac has unwrapped some external details of the forthcoming Mac. It said that the new offering from the company will be completely resigned and will feature full-sized USB ports, MagSafe connectors, and SD card slots.

    macbook air 12 inch

Internally termed as “MacBook Stealth”, the 12-inch MacBook will be entirely revamped. The keypad is modified and the new keypad sits edge-to-edge to the width of the laptop. Each key is relatively closer and some keys are relocated in order to make the laptop narrow. Above the keyboard, there are four speaker grills that are redesigned to act as ventilation holes to help cool the fan-less model. Furthermore, there will be alternations in trackpad and speakers once it reaches the end-consumers.

    Apple macbook-12-inch

The upcoming Air will house comparatively lesser number of ports than the previous versions. There is just one USB Type-C port at the left and a standard headphone jack along with dual microphones on the right-hand side. The USB Type-C port is said to be smaller, more capable and faster than the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports embedded on the present models. If the latest specifications from the USB foundation are to be believed, then the USB Type-C port cannot only transfer data but can also charge the device, making the MagSafe plugs unnecessary on the new machine.

According to the source, the 12-inch MacBook Air will be approximately 0.25-inch narrower than the 11-inch model and of course, would be a bit taller. The thickness reduction is to a bare minimum, but it is a nice move to fascinate potential market.

Internal specifications of the laptop are yet not revealed. There are possibilities that Apple may bring out this new version in gray colour as it has done with its recent offerings. However, there is no notification about when the new Air will roll out; although rumours reveal that it will be shipped in mid-2015.

  • Microsoft’s New Surface Pro Ads Taunt the MacBook Air

Microsoft’s New Surface Pro Ads Taunt the MacBook Air

In a desperate attempt to promote its Surface Pro 3 tablet, Microsoft today launched three new ads targeting Apple’s MacBook Air and comparing the two devices. The new ads focus on the tablets multi-tasking, touch features and expandable hardware.

The advertisement titled ‘Crowded’  focuses on two narrators and how the Surface Pro 3 is a tablet and a laptop. When told about the Surface Pro 3 by the first narrator, the second claims that the tablet doesn’t have the power of the MacBook Air’s Intel i5 processor. The first narrator states that the Surface Pro 3 does have an equal processor, and shows off Microsoft Office, Photoshop, pen support and its touchscreen. The second narrator counters with showing off his own touchscreen (an iPad), and exclaims “I have a lot of stuff to carry.” The ad ends with the first narrator saying “You are more powerful than you think”, referencing Apple’s recent “Powerful” ads for the iPhone 5s.

Second advert called ‘Head To Head’ directly compares both the devices. The ad draws a parallel between the 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM on each device. However, Microsoft keeps on emphasizing the Surface Pro 3’s touchscreen, pen support and detachable keyboard, while the MacBook Air is shown to have none of those features.

The third ad “Power” starts off with a Mac user curious about a full version of Adobe Photoshop running on the Surface Pro 3, once again demonstrating the device’s laptop and tablet capabilities. The narrator claims that the Surface Pro 3 is just as fast as the Mac, boasting a touchscreen with a kickstand along with a Mini DisplayPort and a USB port. The ad ends when the Mac user states “So you’re saying it does more than my Mac?”, and the Surface Pro 3 user going “Well, technically you said it.”

Launch of MacBook Air With Retina Display Might Be Pushed to 2015

Recent report by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News said that Apple is going to launch two new Macbook Air variants; 11-inch and 13-inch in coming months. The report also added that the upcoming redesigned 12-inch MacBook with a Retina display is expected to ship later than expected, as late as early 2015.

The publication reports that the updates to both current MacBook Air sizes have entered production with Apple partner Quanta Computer and the new computers will boost Quanta’s 2014 notebook shipment numbers by 15%. The new devices are said to sport new chassis, screens, and chipsets. It is also said that the shipments are due in late-August.

Apple’s 12-inch MacBook with Retina display was initially reported to hit the marketplace sometime in the earlier part of the third quarter. This device will mark the first expansion of Apple’s Mac line since the MacBook Pro with Retina Display product line was introduced in mid-2012. According to the report, the new MacBook’s launch is glued to Intel’s power and performance-efficient 14-nanometer Broadwell part.

    xl_xl_MacbookAir2012_1_624

Any more specific hardware details for the new 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air laptops have not been revealed.

  • Motorola files biggest complaint against Apple for iOS devices

Motorola files biggest complaint against Apple for iOS devices

Motorola’s biggest ever complaint against Apple involves 7 technologies that are now owned by Motorola, such as syncing messages between devices and bookmarking media playback on one device to resume on another. Although Apple has been using these technologies since 2005 in podcasts and Movies from iTunes, Motorola’s complaint only targets the newer iPad, iPhone 4s and other devices in the bottom line of Apple’s retail chain.

The complaint may take 6 months to over a year to resolve. By then Apple’s new lineup of technologies should be out. But, the question on everyone’s mind remains whether Apple, with their billions of dollars of corp warfare funds, will let this go easy.
