Nevertheless, this is a praiseworthy step which reflects that the company is sticking to its belief of ‘honest pricing’.

As previously mentioned, Xiaomi is yet to confirm whether such a price cut will be implemented in India.Redmi Note 7 Pro Price Cut

  • BlackBerry KEY2 To Launch In India Soon As KEYone Receives A Price Cut

BlackBerry KEY2 To Launch In India Soon As KEYone Receives A Price Cut

BlackBerry, the once colossal mobile maker has found it difficult in the past few years. The company has stuck to its guns in certain aspects and is slowly carving out a niche audience for its Android-powered smartphones. The latest in its portfolio is the BlackBerry KEY2 which was launched on June 7th. It now appears that the device could soon launch in India as the BlackBerry KEYone received a price cut.

Launched in India in August 2017 at a price of Rs 39999, the KEYone was a unique offering. The smartphone is now retailing for Rs 33975 after receiving a price cut of Rs 6024. This usually hints at the launch of a successor and considering the KEY2 was recently launched, it’s not that big a leap. The company has stuck to a similar design and should attract users who crave a physical keyboard.

    KEY2

    [amazon_link asins=’B073ZLLVQ9′ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’57010157-6e07-11e8-a777-3755840a087f’]

The BlackBerry KEY2 is priced at US$ 649 (Rs 43700 approx.) for the base model. This suggests that the smartphone could launch in India at the same price as the KEYone. At Rs 39999, users in India will have an option to buy the OnePlus 6 (8GB RAM model) while the KEY2 runs on the Snapdragon 660 chipset.

The BlackBerry KEY2 has a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with a 1620 x 1080 px resolution. The 3:2 aspect ratio is mainly because the smartphone will have a physical keyboard making it a large device to hold. The bezels aren’t very thin either and it retains the three touch capacitive buttons from the KEYone.

The SoC is coupled with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The fingerprint sensor is housed inside the space bar just like its predecessor. Powering the smartphone is a 3500 mAh battery with support for Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. The headphone jack is present as well, which has become a rare sight in 2018.

The dual-camera setup on the back consists of a 12MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The secondary sensor is a 12MP sensor with an f/2.6 aperture. The smartphone has an 8MP front-facing camera with the display acting as a flash for low-light selfies. The dual camera at the back can record 4K videos at 30fps while the front camera will record 1080P videos.

There is no official confirmation about the launch of the BlackBerry KEY2 in India as of now. However, with a significant price cut to the KEYone, we expect the new device to launch in India soon.

  • Amazon Echo Dot Now Priced At Rs 4099 In India, Echo Receives A Price Cut As Well

Amazon Echo Dot Now Priced At Rs 4099 In India, Echo Receives A Price Cut As Well

The smart speaker industry has been on the rise in India. After the entry of Amazon’s Echo line of speakers, Google recently launched the Home and Home Mini in India as well. Up until now, the Google Home Mini and Google Home were priced on par with the Echo Dot and Echo, respectively. Amazon, however, has announced a price cut for the two smart speakers, making them more affordable than Google’s offerings.

    [amazon_link asins=’B071NB4PGV’ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’c18f518e-6bc3-11e8-8ae0-5fd59762d9f3′]

The Google Home Mini, which was launched at a price of Rs 4499 has received a price cut of Rs 400. The ultra-affordable smart speaker from Amazon is now priced at Rs 4099. The Amazon Echo, which is the mid-table offering from Amazon in India receives a Rs 1000 price cut. The second gen Echo is now priced at Rs 8999. Its main competitor, the Google Home is still priced at Rs 9999 in India.

Apart from the Echo and Echo Dot, the company has also launched the Echo Plus and Echo Spot in India. However, these two smart speakers will continue to retail at their launch prices. The Echo Spot is the only smart speaker in India which has a display. While an interesting prospect, the Echo Spot with its tiny round display does not have a lot of implementations which would be useful in countries like in India.

    [amazon_link asins=’B0749YXL1J’ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’caab5210-6bc3-11e8-88e7-6336f0230f4e’]

At the Amazon Hardware show, the company launched a refreshed version of the Amazon Echo of 2014. In India, it is available in a host of different finishes like wood and cloth. It is a smart speaker and does things at your (voice) command like book an Uber, place an order on Zomato or play your favourite playlist from Saavn. The device measures at 148.5 x 88 x 88 mm and weighs 821 grams. It features 2.5-inch woofer and 0.6-inch bass tweeter.

The Amazon Echo Dot is the smallest sibling of the Echo lineup and has all the functionalities that an Amazon Echo possesses but, with an inferior sound quality. The device measures at 83.5 x 83.5 x 32 mm and weighs 163 grams. A good thing about the Echo Dot is that it can be connected to other speakers for a better soundstage and still retain its core ‘smart’ features.

The Amazon Echo Dot is a great entry-level smart speaker for users just getting into the smart home game. Whether this price cut will help Amazon reduce competition from the likes of Google Home speakers is yet to be seen.

  • Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s Launch Likely After Mi MIX 2 Receives Another Price Cut

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s Launch Likely After Mi MIX 2 Receives Another Price Cut

Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX 2s at an event in China, after skipping any major launches at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. Since its launch, the Mi MIX 2s has received a lot of praise for its top of the line specifications and design. However, it has remained a China-exclusive so far with no communication from the company about its possible global launch yet. However, a recent activity regarding the price of the Mi MIX 2 in India suggests otherwise.

    Mi MIX 2

The Mi MIX 2 received another price cut which means that it now retails for Rs 29999 in India. The price has been changed on all retailing platforms like Flipkart and Xiaomi’s India website. This suggests that it is a permanent price cut and not a temporary offer. In January 2018, the device received the first price cut which brought its price down to Rs 32999. At a price of Rs 29999, the Mi MIX 2 could be a great buy for users who prefer Snapdragon chipsets over Honor’s Kirin series.

A price cut usually indicates the launch of a newer generation which, in this case, is the Mi MIX 2s. So far, we have not heard anything from Xiaomi about a possible launch. In fact, the company is set to launch the Redmi S2 as Redmi Y2 in India next month. However, it is entirely possible that this price cut is the first step towards a possible Mi MIX 2s launch.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s looks great with its new design and the ceramic body. Interestingly, the Mi MIX 2s also has wireless charging, a feature the OnePlus 6 misses out on. The vertically placed dual-camera setup resembles the iPhone X and it is also worth noting that the Mi MIX 2s doesn’t have a notch. The OnePlus 6 goes on sale in India on May 21st at a starting price of Rs 34999. If Xiaomi keeps the price competitive, the Mi MIX 2s could be a great competitor for the OnePlus 6 in India.

  • Apple iPhone X May Receive A Price Cut In Early-2018

Apple iPhone X May Receive A Price Cut In Early-2018

Back in September of 2017, Apple launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus along with its priciest iPhone yet, the iPhone X. Considered as the true successor to the original iPhone from 2007, the iPhone X represented the major design change that future iPhones will see.

China, the largest smartphone market in the world has particularly received the iPhone X well. A report claimed that the iPhone X is convincing more people in China to buy the iPhone, which means that more Android users are switching to iOS thanks to the launch of the iPhone X.

All may not be rosy for Apple as a new report claims that Apple is might drop the price of the iPhone X come early-2018. Similar to a report by Bloomberg, the report from DigiTimes claims that iPhone X shipments will reach 30-35 million in the first quarter of the year, and stay flat or drop slightly in the first quarter of 2018. Numerous analysts have conceded that Apple is dropping orders with Asian suppliers after iPhone X’s underwhelming demand during the holiday season.

Markets like the US, Singapore, and Taiwan have not done as well as Apple was expecting. The report claims that the response to the iPhone X is the reason why Apple will make three iPhones in 2018. This seems a bit off since the news of Apple making three iPhones for 2018 has been doing the rounds even before the iPhone X hit the global market.

    The report further claims that:

Apple is also rumored to adjust its pricing for iPhone devices in early 2018 and has even started preparing a prototype iPhone with support of pre-5G features. However, Apple has not officially confirmed any of the rumors.

If this turns out to be true, it will be huge for iPhone X aspirants. Apple usually drops the price of their iPhones when a new iPhone launches. The iPhone X is as new as an iPhone gets and has been received well by the critics and Apple loyalists alike. This move, however, won’t be unprecedented as Apple had dropped the price of the original iPhone from US $600 to US $400 within weeks of its launch.

  • Xiaomi Mi A1 Receives Permanent Price Cut

Xiaomi Mi A1 Receives Permanent Price Cut

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 back in August at a price of Rs. 14999. Now, one of the best budget camera phones, the Mi A1 has received a permanent price cut of Rs. 1000 and will now retail for Rs. 13999.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 offers something different than the rest of the Xiaomi phones available in India or the global market. It has stock Android OS thanks to the Android One program which means that the Mi A1 will receive Android 8.0 Oreo and Android P updates faster than other OEM phones in the same price bracket. This gives the Mi A1 a slight advantage over its closest competitor, the Moto G5s Plus which also has similar specifications and price. The price cut may also be attributed to the competition from other smartphones such as the Honor 7X which also offers a dual-camera setup and is priced at Rs 12999.

Even though there has been no announcement for Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Xiaomi Mi A1, it is expected to be rolled out by the end of January 2018.

The smartphone has a 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 px LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection along with an aluminium unibody build.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 8x ARM Cortex A53 2.0GHz 64-bit processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card. Handling the graphics under the hood is the Adreno 505 GPU. The pyrolytic graphite sheet will help in heat management as well, Xiaomi claims. The Xiaomi Mi A1 has an IR blaster to control appliances in your home or office. The fingerprint sensor sits at the back of the device below the camera. Xiaomi has also included a dedicated headphone amplifier for better music listening experience.

Powering the device is a 3080 mAh battery and 2A charging through the Type C port.

Even though the phone has stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat, Xiaomi has retained a few apps, such as the Mi camera app since the Google Camera app doesn’t support dual-camera functions right now.

The smartphone features dual sensors at the back, a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.2 aperture (26mm) and 12MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.6 aperture (50mm) setup with 1.25-micron pixel size. The telephoto lens allows the user to take bokeh effect shots with blurred background and a 2X optical lossless zoom. For landscape shots, Xiaomi has introduced a wide angle lens while on the front is a 5MP camera.

At a price of Rs. 13999, there is a lot going on for the Xiaomi Mi A1 and with the holidays coming up, this might be the ideal smartphone for you to upgrade to.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Get a Flat Rs. 10,000 Price Cut

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus have received a significant Rs. 10,000 price cut on all its variants and all colours. The iPhone 7 which was originally selling for Rs. 60,000 for the 32GB variant is now available for Rs. 49999 for the same variant and the price changes apply for all variants all the way up to the 128 GB iPhone 7 plus which originally sells for Rs. 82000 but is now available for Rs. 71999. This also includes the Jet Black colour which was on high demand at the time of the launch of the iPhone 7. The deal however does not include the iPhone 7 Plus at 256 GB which still remains pricey at Rs. 92000.

This news comes in wake of ever growing rumours of Apple’s next iPhone which, as a tenth anniversary upgrade, is expected to have some radical changes to design and technology. iPhone’s have usually never received price cuts in India, however, since this trend started in 2016, it has helped Apple move huge number of handsets and achieve record high sales for a phone segment which is now leads. This may possibly be the best time to grab an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with the next upgrade a good 6 months away, your shiny ( or matte) iPhone can be bought for a good discount. The deal also appears to be a limited time offer.

iPhone 6s, 6s Plus And iPhone SE Get Price Cuts Of Upto Rs. 22000

After the huge success of the iPhone 7 prior to its official launch in India, Apple India is trying to sell off it’s old stock of the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and the iPhone SE which was launched early 2016. The price cuts are significant, however, understanding the reasoning behind it, even more so.

One of the main reasons for the price cut, is the launch of newer variety of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which was announced along side the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus which will now be available in only a 32GB storage and 128 GB storage capacity seem to haver a newer-gen of the same chip which is said to be more battery efficient and a higher quality of the Nand Flash.

    apple-iphone-7-63

Apple India has discounted the current stocks of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus by upto Rs. 22000 (for the 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus) to eliminate the existing stocks. Apple will sell the new variants with the 32 GB and 128 GB capacities for renewed pricing when it launched in October alongside the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple iPhone 6S (128GB) which is currently priced at Rs 82,000, will now be available at Rs 60,000 after a price drop of Rs 22,000. The iPhone 6s Plus (128GB) will sell at Rs 70,000 post the Rs. 22000 discount. The iPhone SE on the other hand just gets a discount of Rs. 4000 on the 64 GB variant. However the price cut is on official prices, while most sellers are already selling the iPhones at similar prices on websites like Amazon (see below.=)

If you don’t care about a more efficient chip, now is a fantastic time to buy the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus. Else, hold on for the officially renewed iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Deal of the Day : LG G4 Gets Cheaper Than the Rest

LG in an official press statement revealed, that the LG G4 will now be available at a cheaper price. The smartphone which was only made available in India by the end of June, is already facing a price cut. LG’s flagship for 2015 which was initially launched with a price tag of Rs. 51,500, is now available for Rs. 45,000 for the Leather back cover variant and Rs. 40,000 for the ceramic white variant. The company also stated that the LG G4 Stylus is now available for Rs. 21,000 (down from Rs. 24,990).

The company says that the promotion is for the upcoming festive season, with no mention if the price cut is temporary or permanent. It looks like LG is following in the footsteps of Samsung, which is notorious for slashing prices of their devices soon after the launch. This is one of the reasons we wouldn’t recommend anyone to pick up the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 at its launch price.

Coming back to the G4, it features a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS LCD display (2560x1440p resolution) that uses quantum dot technology. The screen is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. The processor fitted on the device is a 1.8GHz Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with an Adreno 418 GPU. The device also come with a 3GB RAM, an internal storage space of 32GB, which can be expanded via a MicroSD card up to 2TB. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

    Lg G4 Hands On 0

It boasts a 16MP camera with f/1.8 aperture (widest aperture on any smartphone camera) equipped with Optical Image Stabilization 2.0, color spectrum sensor, and Laser Auto Focus functionality.

The camera on the phone offers a manual operation mode which brings in a variety of options like exposure, white balance, color temperature, ISO, aperture, RAW mode and many other features. The front facing camera with 8MP also with f/1.8 aperture. The handset is powered by a removable 3,000 mAh battery.

With a 10k price cut, now would be the right time to pick up the LG G4. Its main competitors at the moment, Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 are available for a price of Rs 41,900 (32GB variant) and Rs. 45,830 (16GB variant), respectively.
