    Xiaomi Redmi 7A Launched In India

    In the Q2 of 2019, Xioami launched the budget oriented Redmi 7A smartphone in China. Two months after its Chinese debut, the handset has been announced for the Indian market. The newly launched smartphone competes against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy M10 and the Nokia 2.2 which are one of the best selling devices in this segment.

    The Redmi 7A is a slightly toned down variant of the Redmi 7 which was launched in the month of March. It is an entry-level handset from Xiaomi and will succeed the Redmi 6A from 2018. The predecessor was well received in India and the latest iteration seeks to capture the same glory. It features a 5.45-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720px with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The left and right bezels around the display are quite thin while the top and bottom bezels are comparatively chunkier. 

    Under the hood, the Redmi 7A runs on the 12nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC. It is an octa-core CPU with Adreno 505 GPU. The latest budget device features a 12MP Sony IMX486 camera sensor on the rear which has a large pixel size of 1.25 ultra micron. The selfie shooter is a modest 5MP sensor presented on the top of the display. The handset will be available in the following configurations.

    • 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM
    • 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM

    Xiaomi Redmi 7A is powered by a large 4,000mAh battery that is charged via a 10W charger. Furthermore, the device has a 2+1 card slot, meaning it can simultaneously support two SIMs alongside a microSD card for expandable storage up to 256GB. The smartphone runs on the MIUI 10 which is based on Android 9 Pie.

    Xiaomi Redmi 7A is offered in two configurations with different prices and in 3 different colours, namely Matte Black, Matte Blue and Matte Gold. The first variant with 2GB+16GB will be sold for INR 5,999 while the later version with 2GB+32GB will be available for INR 6,199. The Chinese manufacturer has also announced an offer that lasts till the end of July where all Redmi 7A purchased will cost INR 200 lower than the actual price. Sale of the device will start from 11th July 2019 and will initially be available on Flipkart, Mi official website and later every affiliated offline store. To sum it up, the latest budget device will be a worthy contender in its price bracket in India.

    Xiaomi Redmi 7A To Launch In India Soon, Company Confirms

    Xiaomi launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi 7A in China last month. The device is the successor of the Redmi 6A and is a part of the company’s widely popular Redmi A series. Unfortunately, the company did not provide any specific date for the Indian unveiling of the handset at the time. Now, a senior Xiaomi executive has revealed that the Redmi 7A will be introduced in the Indian market soon. The smartphone may be launched alongside the Redmi K20 series next month.

    To recall, the Redmi 7A measures 146.30 × 70.41 × 9.55mm, weighs 150g and has a polycarbonate construction with a similar design to its predecessor. It has a 5.45 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 px and an aspect ratio of 18:9. There are significant bezels on the top and bottom of the device with the company branding at the chin. As it is a budget device, it lacks any form of biometric security like a fingerprint scanner. Users will instead have to rely on conventional unlocking methods; such as numerical pins, patterns and passwords to access the Redmi 7A.

    The Xiaomi Redmi 7A runs on the 12nm Snapdragon 439 SoC which is also seen in the Nokia 4.2 (Review). The chipset is comprised of an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 505 GPU. In terms of optics, the smartphone has a single 13MP rear camera with LED flash. For selfies, a 5MP front-facing camera is present on top of the display. For memory and storage, the handset may be available in the following variants.

    • 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM
    • 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM

    The Xiaomi Redmi 7A is powered by a 4000 mAh battery with support for 10W wired charging. Furthermore, the handset has a triple card slot which supports two SIM cards; and a separate microSD card of up to 256GB in capacity. It has a hydrophobic P2i coating which should make it resistant to a degree of liquid splashes. The smartphone runs on MIUI 10 on top of the current Android 9 Pie.

    The Redmi 7A as mentioned above is expected to launch in India next month. The smartphone may be launched alongside the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro which are confirmed to launch in July. While the pricing of the upcoming budget device is not known for the Indian market; it is expected to be priced near the Rs. 6,000 mark.

    After much hype and speculations, Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi has launched its latest smartphones, the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro. While the former is a mid-range offering, the latter is a flagship-grade device from the company, featuring top tier specifications at a competitive price. The handsets have been launched in China alongside the company’s first laptop called RedmiBook 14. Furthermore, the pricing of the Redmi 7A budget smartphone which was announced a few days ago has also been revealed at the event.

    As mentioned above, the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro are the latest smartphones from the company. The devices have a glass design on the front and back with a metal chassis for reinforcement. They have an attractive gradient coloured design on the back. The handsets have a 6.39 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px. To maximise the screen real estate, they both have a pop-up mechanism on top to house the front-facing camera. For biometric security and unlocking the smartphones, the Redmi K20 series has an in display fingerprint scanner along with support for face unlock technology.

    Under the hood, the Redmi K20 is kitted with the 8nm Snapdragon 730 SoC. The chipset is comprised of an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 618 GPU. The more premium Redmi K20 Pro runs on the flagship grade 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC which has an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 640 GPU. In terms of optics, both smartphones have a triple rear camera setup consisting of an f/1.75 aperture equipped 48MP sensor, an f/2.4 aperture equipped 13MP ultra wide angle sensor; and a tertiary f/2.4 aperture equipped 8MP telephoto sensor. For selfies, an f/2.0 aperture equipped 32MP sensor is housed in the pop-up mechanism on top of the handsets.
    Both the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro are powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. However, the former supports 18 W fast charging while the latter supports 27 W fast charging. Both devices run on  MIUI 10 which is based on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. The smartphone will be available in three colour variants namely, Blue, Red and Black.

    Redmi, a subsidiary of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced its latest budget smartphone in its home country on the 24th of May. Called the Redmi 7A, the device is the successor to the Redmi 6A launched last year. Notably, the latest handset was leaked a few days ago on certification website TENNA and boasts of competitive specifications at a lucrative price.

    Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi launched its latest smartphones, the Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 back in the month of April. Both devices cater to the budget smartphone market in India and have been received well with the audience. Now, fresh leaks have surfaced revealing another budget handset from the company is in the works. The smartphone, alleged to be the Redmi 7A has been leaked on Chinese certification TENAA’s website. The listing exposes the design of the upcoming device.

    The Redmi 7A, as mentioned above, will be a budget offering from the company. It will succeed the Redmi 6A smartphone which was introduced last year. The listing on TENNA unveils what the upcoming device will look like. From the images, it is comprehended the handset may feature a polycarbonate design. Its front is dominated by a display, the size of which is unknown at the moment. Unlike the latest devices by Redmi, the 7A doesn’t sport a waterdrop on top. It instead has considerable bezels on all sides with a company branding at the chin. The front camera, along with the earpiece and other sensors, presumably the light and proximity sensors will be housed on the top bezel.

    The right of the Redmi 7A houses the volume rockers and the power button beneath it. The left side of the smartphone remains empty save for the SIM card tray which may feature a dual SIM slot. Over at the back, the device will have a single rear camera with LED flash. Like current handsets from the company, it will also have the Redmi branding on the bottom but unlike those smartphones, the branding will be vertically placed. Unfortunately, the listing does not mention further details about the 7A like its specifications, launch date and price. But as it has been granted certification in China, it is expected to be announced soon in the country.
