Xiaomi launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi 7A in China last month. The device is the successor of the Redmi 6A and is a part of the company’s widely popular Redmi A series. Unfortunately, the company did not provide any specific date for the Indian unveiling of the handset at the time. Now, a senior Xiaomi executive has revealed that the Redmi 7A will be introduced in the Indian market soon. The smartphone may be launched alongside the Redmi K20 series next month.

To recall, the Redmi 7A measures 146.30 × 70.41 × 9.55mm, weighs 150g and has a polycarbonate construction with a similar design to its predecessor. It has a 5.45 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 px and an aspect ratio of 18:9. There are significant bezels on the top and bottom of the device with the company branding at the chin. As it is a budget device, it lacks any form of biometric security like a fingerprint scanner. Users will instead have to rely on conventional unlocking methods; such as numerical pins, patterns and passwords to access the Redmi 7A.
