Mysterious Samsung Tablet With Snapdragon 710, 4GB RAM Leaked Via Geekbench

Korean electronics giant Samsung is one of the few manufacturers that still make Android tablets. After the popularity of tablet devices that were not Apple iPad fell a few years ago, only companies like Samsung, Lenovo and Huawei have managed to occupy the Android tablet market. The company’s latest device is the Galaxy Tab S5e that was announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the month of February. Now a mysterious device has surfaced via a listing on performance benchmarking website Geekbench. It confirms a few key details about the tablet and may be launched soon.

It will run on the 10nm Snapdragon 710 SoC which will make it the first tablet to feature the chipset. The processor is comprised of an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 616 GPU. On the benchmarking tool, the device has been shown to have scored 929 in the single-core test; while the multicore test has yielded a result of 4450.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 Leaked Via Android Enterprise Listing

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 Leaked Via Android Enterprise Listing

South Korean electronics giant is one of the remaining few Android tablet manufacturers. Despite the sharp decline in the sales of Android tablets over the past few years, devices from the company have seen a positive response from the market. The company launched its latest tablet device, the Galaxy Tab S5e back in the month of February. Now, a new Samsung tablet called the Galaxy Tab A 2019 has made an appearance on the Android Enterprise website which suggests its launch is imminent.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 will be the company’s latest budget tablet offering. According to the listing on Android Enterprise website, the device has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The images attached to the listing reveal the display on the tablet is surrounded by considerable bezels on all sides. There is no physical fingerprint scanner on the device, which might mean users will have to rely on traditional unlocking methods; such as numerical pin, passwords and pattern.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Press Renders Leaked

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Press Renders Leaked

The press renders of an unreleased Samsung tablet have leaked online which are assumed to be of the Galaxy Tab S5e. The leak is detailed enough to reveal the complete design language of the device.

The leak was shared on Twitter and shows a metal-clad tablet with minimal bezels. Past reports have claimed that the lite variant of the Galaxy S10 will officially be called Galaxy S10e. Therefore, the Tab S5e might be a specced down variant of the Galaxy Tab S5. The images exhibit that the tablet has a sleek body and a modern design. This design of the leaked device is reminiscent of that of the Apple iPad Pro 2018.

    Galaxy Tab S5e

The image posted on Twitter discloses the design of the Galaxy Tab S5e from front, back and right. According to the leak, the upcoming tablet has a side-mounted power button that also doubles as the fingerprint sensor. In addition to the power button, the right side of the device houses a pogo-pin style connector which might be used to connect to proprietary Samsung accessories. The rear of the tablet carries the company branding, ‘Tuned by AKG’ logo and a single camera. AKG is a notable Austrian microphone and headphone company that is is now owned by Samsung. The AKG logo at the back of the Tab S5e suggests that the device will have commendable audio performance.

The front of the tablet features a large screen-to-body ratio display with minimal bezels. The icons on the lock screen insist that the tablet runs on Samsung’s OneUI, which is likely to be built on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. Assumedly, the upcoming tablet is a budget-focused device which may replace the previously launched Galaxy Tab A or just be a new entrant in the company’s tablet lineup.

  • Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus Running Android 9 Pie Spotted Online

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus Running Android 9 Pie Spotted Online

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus was launched a few months back by the Chinese electronics giant. It is the larger, 10.1 inch variant of the Mi Pad 4. During the time of its release, the device was running on Android 7, but then Xiaomi quickly updated it to Android 8 Oreo, within a few days of its launch. Now, a Mi Pad 4 Plus has been spotted on Geekbench, running on Android 9 Pie.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the Pie update for the tablet is around the corner. Considering the fact that Xiaomi ship their devices with their own custom UI, it is safe to assume that this will be running on the latest MIUI 10 which features advanced AI capabilities and UI improvements such as gesture navigation. The Android 9 Pie update will surely bring a lot of improvements to this tablet. On Geekbench, the tablet got a single-core score of 1642 and  multi-core score of 5854.

    Specifications

The Mi Pad 4 Plus has a 10.1 inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 px resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The device has got fairly thick bezels on all sides and features a home button on the bottom of the screen. It runs on the Qualcomm snapdragon 660 SoC with the Adreno 512 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. However, the Mi pad 4 Plus does not support any memory expansion.

  • Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablets To Launch Soon

Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablets To Launch Soon

Sony has not launched a flagship tablet since 2015. Most of the brands have been doing the same, due to decreasing tablet sales number. However, Sony might reconsider its decision on the same, by launching a flagship tablet in 2018. According to a report, the teardown of Sony’s camera app has hinted towards two tablets from the Japanese smartphone maker. The company is most likely to launch an 8 inch and a 10 inch tablet. These devices might launch under the Xperia XZ2 moniker, which was launched at MWC 2018.

Sony is expected to launch these tablets in the summer of 2018 along with the Xperia XZ2 Pro. The Xperia XZ2 Pro is expected to be the most premium offering from the company, which might have a 4K resolution display with flagship class hardware. Apart from Huawei and Samsung, not many smartphone makers have launched premium Android-powered tablets in the recent past. This is mainly because Apple has been dominating the tablet industry with its iPad lineup. In fact, Apple has a 23% market share in the tablet industry.

     Sony Xperia Xz2 tablet Specs

The leak does not mention any specifications. However, going by the flagship device standards, it is likely to launch a device with at least 1080p resolution. Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 series processor. Additionally, we might see different variants of these tablets with Wi-Fi or LTE capabilities.

As this leak was seen on camera application, the devices are likely to have a camera similar to the Sony Xperia XZ2. If that so, this could be the first tablet to support slow motion 960fps video recording. However, considering this as a tablet, these devices will have a mediocre camera and a massive battery, which can last for a complete day or two. These tablets are likely to run on Android 8 Oreo.

  • 9.7-Inch Apple iPad Pro to Feature 12MP Camera

9.7-Inch Apple iPad Pro to Feature 12MP Camera

When Apple brought out the powerful, ginormous iPad Pro, it was certain that the 12.9-inch tablet would reach only the wealthy few (being priced at $1079). Cut to 2016 and rumours of a 9.7-inch iPad Pro variant began that reignited hope for a powerful yet affordable tablet for Apple fans. It is rumored that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will feature essentially the same features as its elder sibling.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is said to be powered by the A9X chipset, include 4GB of RAM, feature quad-speakers, and support both the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. The one area missing from speculations was regarding the rear camera, which today’s rumour claims will be at 12MP, much like the one found in the iPhone 6s.

    Apple iPad Pro
    Apple iPad Pro

While the original iPad Pro came with an 8MP rear camera, the new 9.7-inch version will get a major bump to 12MP and will also feature 4K video recording as well. Meanwhile, The new, smaller iPad Pro will be available in the same color options as the larger model (Silver, Gold and Space Gray). It also will be available in Wi-Fi (32GB and 128GB) and Wi-Fi+ Cellular (128GB) just like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be unveiled along with the iPhone SE and an updated Apple Watch at a media event on March 22.

  • Apple’s Next iPad to be a 9.7-inch iPad Pro Variant

Apple’s Next iPad to be a 9.7-inch iPad Pro Variant

We’re less than a month away from the next Apple event that will see the launch of (at least) two new products – the iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3. Now, while we have a good amount of knowledge about the iPhone 5se, there’s very little that we know about the iPad Air 3 apart from rumours that it will sport the latest A9X chipset along with the iPhone 5se.

Latest rumours doing the rounds suggest that the new iPad is merely a 9.7-inch variant of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It will be powered by the Apple A9X SoC, carry quad-speakers, and contain 4GB of RAM, similar to that seen in the iPad Pro. In other words, the iPad Air 3 will, in fact, be an iPad Pro, only smaller.

iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil
iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will support the Apple Pencil and a smaller version of the Smart Keyboard using the magnet-based Smart Connector seen in the 12.9-inch version. The new, smaller iPad Pro will be available in the same color options as the larger model (Silver, Gold and Space Gray). It also will be available in Wi-Fi (32GB and 128GB) and Wi-Fi+ Cellular (128GB) just like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

From what these new reports tell us, it seems that Apple is beginning to blur the lines between its various tablet models. We could be seeing a new iPad that borrows the USP from the Air, Mini and Pro, combining it into one light, small, and powerful tablet. If this is the case, then the upcoming 9.7-inch tablet may just see the end of the Mini and Air, eventually.

    iPad Pro Unboxing iGyaan 9

However, the iPad Mini is still Apple’s most affordable tablet among the three, so it may not kill that off just yet unless it manages to price the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro right. It is also unconfirmed whether the smaller iPad Pro will fall under 440 g in order to fall under the ‘Air’ category as well. It begs one to question whether the iPad Air ($499 – $799) will be appealing once a more powerful iPad Pro with the same size and weight enters the market and is priced closer to the former.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be available in Silver, Gold and Space Gray and will also be available in Wi-Fi (32GB and 128GB) and Wi-Fi+ Cellular (128GB) just like the 12.9-inch Pro. The new iPad Pro and iPhone 5se will be announced at a press event on March 22.

The tablet also features dual speakers at the bottom with Dolby Audio.

iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 to go on Sale on March 18

A smaller, affordable iPhone is just around the corner and fans are eagerly waiting to see the 4-inch iPhone 5se. In today’s Apple related news, rumours suggest that the iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 will go on sale starting March 18.

If what the rumours are true, the sale of the devices will fall in the same week as the unveiling event which is scheduled to take place on the 15th. Though there hasn’t been any official confirmation, it looks like there will not be any pre-order period for the two devices.

The handset will miss out on the 3D Touch feature. The display would be the same as on the last 4-inch iPhone, the 5c.

  • HTC Working on a Smartwatch and Desire Tablet

HTC Working on a Smartwatch and Desire Tablet

Today’s HTC news is not about smartphones but smartwatches and tablets. Whispers and rumours have been floating about that HTC is set to join the growing list of brands to have their own smartwatches. That and a new tablet being spotted on GFXBench are what’s trending today.

Talking about the smartwatch first, HTC is said to be working on a proper smartwatch after having partially launched the HC Grip fitness band last year. We say partially because the band was launched as a part of an Under Armour Healthbox package that included a chest strap for heart rate monitoring, a smart scale and smart sneakers. The package was launched at CES earlier this month.

    htc-grip-640x422

The rumor about a smartwatch in the works was revealed by popular leakster @evleaks. However, not much is known about the smartwatch at this time. Some past rumours have suggested that HTC’s smartwatch would use Android Wear as its platform and that the watch would sport a round display.

On the tablet front there are some concrete facts. The alleged tablet was spotted on GFXBench with some key specs listed. The tablet called Desire T7 will be the first-ever tablet under the Desire series and will likely sport a 6.9-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution.

The Desire T7 comes with a Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It is supported by a Mali-400 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage. The tablet is also listed to feature a 5MP primary and secondary camera and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

While a lot of uncertainty looms over the smartwatch, you can expect an unveiling of the tablet at the MWC in February. HTC is also likely to mention the smartwatch at the event or would save it for March where the company will hold a separate event for the launch of the HTC One M10.

Microsoft to Launch Surface Pro 4 in India Tomorrow

Microsoft’s flagship 12 inch hybrid tablet that promises to put your laptop out of business for good is all set to take up Indian markets by storm in the coming days. Microsoft has started sending invites of the launch event for the Surface Pro in India on the 7th of January, 2016. Microsoft fearing a backlash because of the high price of the series had shied away from introducing the Surface Pro range in India for a long time, but its seems the company has decided to cast those apprehensions aside, and trust its loyal user base in the country.

The Surface Pro 4 whose pricing has not been disclosed by the company yet, looks set to retail in India over the Rs. 60,000 mark. For the hard earned money you spend, Satya Nadela, and Co. present to you a gorgeous piece of consumer hardware that can easily take on all the productivity tasks that you throw at it. This hybrid tablet is a sure-shot upgrade from the Surface Pro 3, but still leaves you wanting more when it comes to battery life.

    maxresdefault

The Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch Pixel Sense display, that can output a maximum resolution of 2736 x 1824 (267 PPI). It will run on a 6th Gen Intel Core m3, i5, or i7 processor. The device will have 4GB,8GB,16GB RAM depending on the variant of choice, and will be available in storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB SSD drives. To add to this, the Surface Pro 4 will also come equipped with Intel HD Graphic chips, or an Intel Iris chip for the top of the line i7 variant.

    microsoft-surface-pro-4-news

The hybrid tablet will be powered by Windows 10, and the cool thing about the the device is that it turns into a fully-powered laptop while running a desktop software. Battery life is promised at just over 9 hours on a single charge, and the device will weigh not over 786 grams. Not bad we say.

The Surface Pro 4 on paper looks like a device which if priced right could easily make deep inroads into the Indian consumer market, and keeping in mind how carefully Microsoft has been looking at India in the past year or so, come 7th of January, 2016 Indian consumers could well expect this game changer from the tech giant to be priced reasonably, and make way into their homes.

If rumours are to be believed,Google will launch a new Nexus 7 tablet in 2016, and it might be manufactured by Huawei. Though Google is yet to confirm another partnership with Huawei post Nexus 6P, but scales seem tipped in Huawei’s favour.

Teaming up with Google for the Nexus device has gotten Huawei a lot of exposure in the international tech circuit. Currently, the Chinese company is the third largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world in terms of the shipment volume, and the largest back home in China.

Google launched its original Nexus 7 tablet, manufactured by Asus, back in 2012. Both the original as well as its successor fared well in the market and proved to be very cost-effective gadgets, quite unlike the Huawei Nexus 6P which is a premium device at a premium price.

Let’s see what another collaboration between Google and Huawei -if it happens at all -is likely to bring to the tech world.
