Huawei Nova 3 Specifications Leaked On TENAA

A new Huawei smartphone has been listed in TENAA with the model number FLA-AL00. Considering the specifications, the smartphone is expected to be the Nova 3, which will succeed the Nova 2. The company might launch this smartphone along with the Huawei P20 Lite at MWC 2018. However, the marquee launch event is scheduled for the 27th of March in Paris.

The same smartphone is listed with three different model numbers. The FLA-AL00 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, whereas the FLA-AL10 and the FLA-AL20 have different SIM card availability. However, there is no exact information on the other two models.

Huawei P20 Lite Expected MWC 2018
    Design:

The possible Huawei Nova 3 has a full metal unibody design with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. In fact, the design is similar to the Honor 7x, with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio display.

    Specifications:

The Huawei Nova 3 has a 5.93-inch 2160 x 1080p IPS LCD display, protected by 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 Oct-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The device has a dual primary camera setup with 13 MP + 2 MP sensors and a dual front-facing camera setup with 16 MP + 2 MP sensors. In both setups, the primary sensor is an RGB lens and the secondary 2 MP lens helps to capture depth details for the bokeh effect.

The phone will run on Android 8 Oreo with custom EMUI skin on the top with a 3900 mAh Li-ion battery. Finally, the smartphone will be available in three colours including Gold, Black, and Blue.

    Conclusion:

The only difference between the Huawei Nova 2 and the Huawei Nova 3 is the display. The Huawei Nova 2 had a 5-inch display and the Nova 3 comes with 5.93-inch display. In fact, the Huawei Nova 2 and the Nova 3 are powered by the same Kirin 659 chipset.

  • Huawei P20 Lite Listed on TENAA

Huawei P20 Lite Listed on TENAA

Huawei is expected to launch the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 LitePlus at a launch event in Paris in March 2018. However, the P20 Lite will be launched at MWC 2018. A smartphone has been listed on the TENNA website which could possibly be the Huawei P20 Lite.

Two smartphones were listed on TENAA with a slightly different model number EML-AL00 and EML-TL00. These models could be two variants of the same smartphone, the P20 Lite. As is with a lot of TENNA listings, there are not many details mentioned in this listing as well.

    Details of the listed smartphone:
    Huawei P20 Lite Leaked Image

The listed smartphone comes with a metal unibody design with a Huawei logo at the bottom. The smartphone also has a dual camera setup with Leica branding. The Leica branding is reserved for the Mate and P series smartphones from the company, this might suggest that the leaked smartphone is indeed a Huawei P20 Lite.

The listed smartphone even has an Apple iPhone X like notch, which might house the necessary sensors for Face Unlock. However, it might just have a dual front-facing camera like the Honor 9 Lite.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 970 Octa-core chipset with at least 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is expected to offer Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with EMUI skin on the top.

    Conclusion:

The Huawei P20 Lite will be one of the three smartphones that the company will launch in a space of one month. While the company’s own facial recognition technology seems interesting, the smartphone’s design will be a huge talking month. However, if Huawei does come up with Face Unlock for the P20 Lite, the notch would seem justified.

  • Huawei Enjoy 8 With A Dual Camera Setup Listed On TENAA

Huawei Enjoy 8 With A Dual Camera Setup Listed On TENAA

Huawei is likely to launch a new entry-level smartphone named Huawei Enjoy 8, which is currently listed on TENAA. The specifications of the smartphone almost match with the recently listed Honor 7C. In fact, the differences between the Honor 7C and the Huawei Enjoy 8 are very negligible. The Huawei Enjoy 8 will be the successor of the Huawei Enjoy 7, which was launched in China. Interestingly, the company did launch a special KFC edition of the Huawei Enjoy 7 in the US.

The device is listed in two parts, one with the model number LND-TL10 which comes with 32GB storage and the other model listed under the model number LND-AL20, which comes with 64GB storage.

The only difference between the Honor 7C and the Huawei Enjoy 8 is the build quality. The Honor 7C offers a metallic design, whereas the Huawei Enjoy 8 might have a plastic unibody design. However, the plastic build quality does appear to be of metallic finish for the untrained eyes.

    Specifications:

The Honor 7C has a FullView 5.99-inch 1440 x 720p IPS LCD display, with 2.5D curved tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown Oct-core chipset with 1.4 GHz base frequency.

The device has a main dual camera setup with 13 MP + 20 MP sensors, with an 8 MP front-facing camera. The Honor 7C will be powered by Android 8 Oreo with custom EMUI 8 skin on the top. Finally, the phone packs in a 2900 mAh Li-ion battery.

    Conclusion:

The Ejoy series have been exclusive for the Chinese and Europian markets. So, the Huawei Enjoy 8 might be a China exclusive model. However, it could be launched in India under a different moniker.

  • Honor 7C With A Dual Camera Setup Spotted On TENAA

Honor 7C With A Dual Camera Setup Spotted On TENAA

In the last three months, Honor has launched three budget smartphones in India including Honor 9i, Honor 7x, and Honor 9 Lite. It looks like the company is planning to launch a new Honor smartphone with a similar design language. The Honor 7C is now listed on TENAA, which hints towards the official launch of the device in China.

This will be the successor of the Honor 6C, which was launched in Europian markets for € 229. Later on, Honor also launched a successor to the Honor 6C named Honor 6C Pro for € 179. In terms of design, the smartphone resembles the Honor 7x with 18:9 aspect ratio display. However, the camera setup is slightly redesigned compared to the Honor 7x.

There are two devices listed on TENAA, one has a model number of LND-TL30 and another device is listed as LND-TL40. The only difference between these models is the amount of RAM. The LND-TL30 comes with 3GB RAM, whereas, the LND-TL40 comes with 4GB RAM, with 32 GB storage on both the models.

    Specifications:

The Honor 7C has a FullView 5.99-inch 1440 x 720p IPS LCD display, with 2.5D curved tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown Oct-core chipset with 1.8 GHz base frequency.

    Conclusion:

Considering the fact that, both the Honor 6C and the 6C Pro were exclusively launched in Europe, the Honor 7C might launch only in European markets.

  • LG And Huawei To Skip MWC 2018 Launch Because Of Samsung

LG And Huawei To Skip MWC 2018 Launch Because Of Samsung

Mobile World Congress is scheduled to take place from the 26th of February to 1st March 2018. Apart from concepts and futuristic phones, a lot of consumer-ready devices are expected to be announced as well. Without a doubt, the most anticipated launch is that of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Samsung is the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world and the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ are its marquee phones for 2018 (until the Galaxy Note9 is launched) hence, are expected to grab most of the headlines. Other smartphone makers like Sony and Xiaomi are also expected to announce their new flagship devices as well.

While some companies would bite the bullet and launch their smartphones around the same time the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will launch, LG and Huawei appear to have other plans. According to a report, Huawei P20 (tentatively named) and LG V30+ Alpha will not be announced at MWC as the companies feel the launch of Samsung’s flagship devices will grab the spotlight.

    Galaxy S9, S9+ Expected Design

LG not announcing a flagship smartphone at MWC is not surprising since it is reported that the LG G7 will be completely reworked. Even though LG re Even though the company announced strong financials for Q4 2017, the mobile division has continued to lose money. This prompted the CEO to announce that the company will no longer follow the yearly smartphone release cycle. It was reported that the LG V30+ Alpha, an extension of the LG V30 will be launched at MWC 2018.

An LG spokesperson confirmed that the company has a few announcements planned for MWC, but, if there will be no flagship phone announcement planned, it would be interesting to see what LG has in store for us. It could be a foldable smartphone concept for all we know.

As for Huawei, there was a leak of the company’s roadmap which pegged the Huawei P20 for a Q2 2018 release hence, an MWC announcement of the device was a fair assumption. But, the Chinese smartphone maker has remained tight-lipped on its plan for the next P-series smartphone. Just like it did for the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei could host a launch event right after MWC to unveil the new smartphone but, this is all speculation as of now.

However, neither of the companies have confirmed anything pertaining to this report which means that anything is possible come February 26th.

  • Honor 7X Vs Xiaomi Mi A1 – Best Smartphone Under Rs. 15000?

Honor 7X Vs Xiaomi Mi A1 – Best Smartphone Under Rs. 15000?

Huawei Honor launched the Honor 7X in India at a starting price of Rs. 12999. Up until then, that price segment was dominated by the likes of the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5s Plus, both of which offered similar specifications and software experience.

Before the Honor 7X was launched in India, the Xiaomi Mi A1 was soaring high at a price tag of Rs. 14999 which was cheaper than the Moto G5s Plus, however, a few days after the Honor 7X was launched, the price of the Mi A1 decreased. In order to keep a level playing field, Xiaomi reduced the price of the Honor 7X to Rs. 13999 and right now, it is available for Rs. 12999 on Flipkart. With the price tag no longer a factor, let’s see which phone comes out on top.

    Design

Hands down, the Honor 7X wins in the design department. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is not a bad looking phone but, when kept next to each other, the Mi A1 looks dated. The Honor 7X has a modern design with thin bezels and even though the company could’ve used the bottom bezel to house a fingerprint sensor instead of its branding, the Honor 7X looks sleek and more pleasing to the eye than the Xiaomi Mi A1.

    Display

The Honor 7X has a 5.93-inch LTPS IPS LCD display with a 2160 x 1080 px resolution and 407ppi. The Xiaomi Mi A1, on the other hand, has a 5.5 inch LTPS IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 px resolution and 403ppi. Despite a taller display, the Honor 7X has a slightly high pixel count than the Xiaomi Mi A1. In terms of display, the Honor 7X wins the battle again thanks to its 18:9 aspect ratio which comes in handy while multi-tasking and content consumption in general. The Xiaomi Mi A1 has the 2016 standard 5.5-inch display which cannot seem to hold up against the Honor 7X.

    Software

After photos and sound, software is the most subjective aspect of a smartphone. Just like some people prefer bass-heavy sound over a flat soundstage, some people prefer the bells and whistles of a custom skin over stock Android OS. There is no denying that the Xiaomi Mi A1 will always be ahead when it comes to software updates but, EMUI on the Honor 7X has come a long way since its inception as well. Both the phones offer a different software experience for different sets of people.

    Performance

The Xiaomi Mi A1 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The Honor 7X is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (for the Rs. 12,999 variant) which can also be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Just as you would expect, bot the devices handle day-to-day tasks with ease although the 18:9 display makes normal usage much more fun on the Honor 7X. During gaming again, the display of the Honor 7X comes into play as it enhances the user experience while the Xiaomi Mi A1’s experience is adequate but, nothing to ride home about.

Benchmark scores tell a similar story. In Geekbench, the Xiaomi Mi A1 scores 883 in single-core and 4267 in multi-core set. The Honor 7X on the other hand scores 909 in single-core and 3511 in multi-core tests.

    Camera

Photos are extremely subjective and the same case is in this comparison as well. Watch our full comparison for photo samples and decide for yourself. Here are a few sample shots from both, the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X.

While specifications on paper might not tell the whole story, the two phones are a solid option in the price category. The Mi A1 has a dated design but stock Android OS while the Honor 7X has a modern design, thin bezels but a heavily skinned custom OS.
