    Reliance Jio is one of India’s leading telecom service provider. The Mukesh Ambani owned company has seen massive success in its short time since it was introduced. Currently, its high speed internet service, Jio Fiber, which was announced last week has some varying prices and special offerings. It includes plan in-between anywhere from Rs. 700 to Rs. 10,000 which is offered alongside the fixed-line connection and set-top box.

    Jio Fiber broadband offerings are bundled with a landline connection. Users have a choice between HD to 4K quality set-top box and have access to Jio’s Internet of Things (IoT). The company is also promising free calls for life from the fixed-line connection. Notably, the cost for international calls is being brought down by offering unlimited ISD calling to US, Canada at INR 500/month.

    Reliance Jio announced a set-top box that allows users to access the largest possible collection of TV Channels. It arrives after the company acquired multiple system operators like DEN, Hathway and GTPL. These operators have direct relations with over 30,000 LCOs (Local Cable Operators). The set-top box, landline and broadband connections are all routed via fibre-optics cables.

    Jio is introducing a revolutionary concept which will affect the way people watch new movies in India. The service will be available in mid-2020 and will be available for Premium Jio Fiber users to watch a movie as soon as they are released in the theatres.

    Jio Forever plans bring some exciting news for prospective customers. The annual plan can be opted and offer users a free HD or 4K LED TV and a 4K set-top box for free. It is yet to be announced which brand or make of TV will be provided and if or not a security deposit is required.

    One of the more surprising news is definitely the companies entry into gaming. The Reliance Jio set-top box will arrive with a built-in graphics card. Notably, the company is also in collaboration with Tencent Games and Microsoft to make more games compatible. Zero-Latency gaming experience is being claimed right now but we have yet to see of its legitimacy.

    The subscription for the Jio Fiber will start from INR 700 a month and has speeds start from 100 Mbps. Even the US, a developed country only averages around 90 Mbps. The power users are also being targetted with an INR 10,000 plan which seems like a more robust offering.

    Reliance Group’s Jio is by far one of the most successful telecom company in India. According to certain sources, the Anil Ambani owned corporation is credited to even be the largest network provider in the country. Jio took India by storm back in 2016 with its highly lucrative business strategies for great offerings. Furthermore, India is reportedly one of the countries with the most affordable data rates which was again revolutionized after Jio’s introduction. Now, the company has launched Saarthi, its new digital assistant to aid in online transactions via its MyJio app.

    How Does Saarthi Work?

    A large number of Jio users still relied on offline stores for recharges owing to wariness over online transactions, Hence, Jio is introducing Saarthi, a digital assistant made to ease the process of online recharges via the MyJio app. The assistant’s job is to help the users perform the necessary steps that are needed for digital recharges or online transactions. The app for Saarthi functions alongside the MyJio app but must be downloaded separately, Users can expect to see a prompt on the latest builds of MyJio.

    Saarthi is currently supported in two languages, Hindi and English, and will soon support 12 more regional languages in the arriving months. Additionally, the digital assistant will help users select recharge plans, adding credit or debit card details to save for future transactions and more. If you have ever made an online transaction via MyJio then Saarthi is little more than an additional convenience, however, for first-time users, it can be a great helping hand.

    How To Enable It

    MyJio app is likely to send a prompt to activate Jio Saarthi in case of users never making an online transaction in-app. If you are on the latest version of MyJio, then a text-based prompt which can be opted in or out off. Once users download it, the assistant appears as a floating button if users select the recharge option. After that, users can request assistance from Saarthi by simply clicking on the button to get voice-based instruction on how to go about setting up bank details and more which can be rather complicating.

    Jio GigaFiber Commercial Launch Date Tipped, May Cost Rs 600 Per Month

    Following the sensational reception of Jio 4G, Reliance Industries had announced Jio GigaFiber at the 2018 AGM (Annual General Meeting). At the time of kick-off, the ultra-high-speed internet service was limited to 1,100 cities and users could enrol via a registration process. 

    Although the beta trials of the Jio GigaFiber service has undergone successfully in most regions, its commercial launch is yet to take place.Jio GigaFiber

    According to a fresh report, the highly anticipated Jio GigaFiber service will be commercially rolled out on the 12th of August which is the designated date for company’s this year’s AGM.

    Besides announcing the commercial avialbliliy of high-speed broadband Jio GigaFiber, Reliance  is also expected to unveil products and services in the entertainment and IoT domain(internet of thing). 

    When the Jio GigaFiber service was announced last year, users had to pay a sum of Rs 4500 as a security deposit to acquire the necessary networking equipment. However, the company had later introduced an affordable version of ONT (optical network terminal) that has brought down the security deposit to just Rs 2,500. Jio GigaFiber

    In terms of the monthly subscription fee, Reliance is expected to retain the price of Rs 600 which was originally announced. Subscribing to the said plan provides a combo of three services which include GigaFiber broadband, Jio Home TV (DTH service) and Jio Apps including Jio Music and Jio Movies (both of which are on-demand streaming services).

    Conclusively, as Jio 4G took over the telecom sector due to competent prices and widespread reach, the Jio GigaFiber is expected to replicate that in the broadband and DTH industry.
