The renders also show that the phone will have the Galaxy Note 7 branding as seen on the poster leaked earlier.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will run on a Snapdragon 823 SoC chipset for the US and for global launch an Exynos chipset, the phone will feature an iris scanner, an IP68-certified water-resistant body, a USB Type-C port, and a 4,000 mAh battery.

LeEco Wants to Beat Apple iPhone 7 Pro to the Dual Camera

LeEco has been taking initiative against Apple, first be removing the headphone jack from the Le 2 and Le Max 2 phones, and now it appears they are attempting to launch a phone with a dual camera module, and will beat Apple to market with it.

A new leaked Lex720 device chassis has been spotted sporting a dual camera setup. While the idea of putting dual lenses goes many years back, including when HTC did it with their HTC One M8, no real advantageous outcome has come from putting two cameras in a phone till date.

The leak also showcases an iPhone-like Design and iPhone 7 Leaks like antenna bands. Along with a rear fingerprint scanner which is typical of LeEco.

Rumours also point that the device will feature a Snapdragon 821 and will launch end August 2016.

Google May Finally Make a Non Nexus Google Phone

It appears that Google is working on a smartphone called the “Google Phone” which it will launch later this year. According to the Telegraph  Google will release a smartphone with tighter controls over “design, manufacturing and software” before the end of the year.

While this might affect partnerships including those with HTC who is supposedly making the Nexus devices this year. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has recently been very vocal over tighter control on design and materials.

It is unknown what the reality of the phone will hold and whether it will be any different from phones from manufacturers like Samsung or Huawei.

  • The iPhone 7 To Support Dual Sim, Come with 3.5mm Headphone Jack

The iPhone 7 To Support Dual Sim, Come with 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Recent reports have often maintained that the iPhone 7 will ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favor of the lightning port which will output Hi-res audio to your favorite pair of headphones. However, new parts leaked on Weibo along with some new reports, it looks like the iPhone 7 may keep the 3.5 mm headphone jack after all.

Recently, LeEco, in order to beat Apple, launched two smartphones with the audio via USB Type-C ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Leaked iPhone components show that the phone will keep the headphone jack. The parts also show the rumored dual camera setup of the iPhone 7 Pro and some SanDisk memory chips of up to a size of 256GB.

Interestingly, this leak also shows some dual-sim capabilities on the Apple iPhone 7. If true this would be the first iPhone to support dual sim capabilities.

With so many supposed leaks happening, it is quite unclear on what the specifications of the final iPhone 7 will be. Earlier reports suggested that the dual camera setup had been scrapped, However, it seems to have returned. Apparently, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi are also exploring dual-lens cameras for their upcoming smartphones.

  • Most Popular Mobile Games of All Time

Most Popular Mobile Games of All Time

If you were in Wordsworth’s time period, you would spend your free time by idealizing nature, composing romantic poetry to the smell of daffodils. If you lived during The Beatles era, you would be protesting against war in your denim bell bottoms and moccasins in a Kombi.

Today, however, we’re more responsible with time, chasing after high scores and collapsing structures on pigs. It’s a simpler time. Today, mobile games remain at the top of the ‘how to kill time’ list. And we’ve chosen a few games that we think are the all time favorites. These games range from ones that have been played since the time phones were invented to games that are still hugely popular, in no order whatsoever.

    Angry Birds

    angry-birds-2

This ‘bird hitting evil pigs’ game is a sheer stroke of brilliance created by Rovio. Who would have thought the amount of pleasure one would get to watch pigs get crushed by collapsing structures, or the joy of nailing that perfect shot that causes a huge chain reaction. It has been almost 6 years since the game came out and is still as addictive as ever.

For the uninitiated, the game basically features a bunch of birds with various mood swings, depending on which some can split in to three, drop egg bombs, and even explode. These birds are flung from a slingshot at evil pigs who have stolen their eggs, or at structures that collapse on the pigs. Either way, the pigs must die.

Angry Birds’ success is unparalleled with around 12 games in the series ranging from Rio to Star Wars, to having its own televised cartoon show and an upcoming movie. With over three billion downloads across all platforms, Angry Birds is the most downloaded freemium game series of all time.

    Snake

    snake-game

Now for some retro stuff. We all know it, we all love it. Snake was for feature phones what Angry Birds is for smartphones. We all started off playing Snake on our Nokia handsets when we were kids. In fact, one of Nokia’s biggest selling points for handsets like the 1100 or 3210 was pre-installed Snake. The game was a hit with users and proved that phones could be used for more than just making calls.

We’re confident everyone must know about the game, but we’ll tell you anyway. You’re a snake and you have to eat. You must guide your snake around a box finding little square food to eat. But here’s the kicker, the more you eat the longer the snake gets, which makes maneuvering the snake all the more difficult. Not only does reaching the food becomes more complex, you must also be wary of biting your own tail, cause it’s ‘Game Over’ if you do. It’s a lot harder than it sounds.

Also, it’s not enough to stay on gear one. If you play Snake, you need to try all the 9 levels of speed settings cause that’s where the fun lies and you need to have a stomach as big as the snake for it. The game is such an important part in the history of mobile gaming that on November 29, 2012, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City announced that the Nokia port of Snake was one of 40 games that the curators wished to add to the museum’s collection in the future.

    Grand Theft Auto

    GTA

From Snake we jump to GTA, so take a while to readjust your time stream. Grand Theft Auto, one of the most popular series on gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, also made its way to the phones. Needless to say, the experience of playing GTA on your mobile is quite something.

What developers did best was to bring the same feel of the game from the original consoles onto the phones. By the time San Andreas hit the Android and iOS market, phones could handle really cool graphics and had the processors to back it up. So if you were to download San Andreas today, you would find that Rocksteady has worked hard on updating the games texture and lighting for the smartphones to provide you every bit of what you remember if you played the PlayStation, Xbox, or PC version.

You’ll find dozens of hours of entertainment crammed into its two gigabytes of precious mobile device storage space that let you experience everything from working out at the gym to grabbing burgers in a fictionalized take on Las Vegas.

    Tetris

    Tetris

We’re taking you back yet again. This time we look at the classic Russian tile-matching puzzle game that first made its appearance with Nintendo, and later hit the phones. If you ever owned a GameBoy and used it for games other than Pokemon (hard to imagine), then chances are you would have been familiar with Tetris even before it made it to the phone.

This phenomenally addictive game is quite simple to understand. You have seven types of blocks (called ‘tetrominoes’) that fall from the ceiling, and your job is to stack them neatly by moving and rotating them before they hit the deck. Creating a horizontal line will eliminate every block in that row, which is good since the blocks keep falling, and continue to do so till it stacks up till the ceiling, after which the game is over.

A game like this doesn’t require much change over the years and is just as addictive today as it was back then. Despite all the graphical progressions we’ve made, sometimes its fun to go back to the old school ways of gaming. And Tetris is as old as it gets.  Electronic Gaming Monthly’s 100th issue had Tetris in first place as “Greatest Game of All Time”. In 2007, Tetris came in second place in IGN‘s “100 Greatest Video Games of All Time”. Yes, its that good.

    Flappy Bird

    flappy-bird

If you want to see how older 8-bit games continue to inspire this generation, you need only download Flappy Bird or Crossy Road to know. These new age games rely on old age gameplay and graphics and are ridiculously addictive. Games like Crossy Road, Flappy Bird, and Frogger have a simple manner of progression. There are obstacles to cross using mostly your thumbs to tap on the screen. With no tricky controls, these games can actually be played with one hand tied behind your back.

In Flappy Bird, the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between rows of green pipes without coming into contact with them, and that’s pretty much all you have to do. But don’t be fooled. Flying a bird between pipes has never been this difficult. Very, very few have gone on to achieve Gold medals in Flappy Bird, and you only needed 40 points to get that.

The game was regarded so addictive that makers removed it completely from the App Store and Google Play Store. Today, all you’ll find are Flappy Bird knock-offs. The sudden removal of the game in 2014 caused phones with it pre-installed to be put up for sale for high prices over the Internet. Even though its not available now, this short-lived game is still worth to go down in history as one of the (annoyingly) addictive games of all time.

    Space Impact

    Space Impact

Honestly, who doesn’t remember this side-scrolling space shooter game that was the bomb back when people were on their Nokia 3310’s? Today the game might feel hilarious to play, but back then it blew our minds away.

Space Impact sees you piloting a tiny spaceship through a hellish field of alien creatures that looked like fish. Hammering away at your phone’s buttons, you’ll be blasting those freaks with missiles, bombs, and energy beams through each level.

While Space Impact was never a great game, it was, however, something truly brilliant for the time. It pushed the boundaries in terms of what was possible on a mobile, and anything like that deserves some recognition.

Moto X May Still Exist Suggest Benchmarks

Although Motorola has launched the Moto Z and Moto Z force, the company may not have replaced the globally loved Moto X after all. A new leaks from the benchmarking website GFXbench shows that the Moto X may still well exist.

The Moto X was the first phone to offer always-on google search along with the Moto Display ( which was also a an always on notification system)

This Moto X seems to be a more dumbed out version of the Moto Z. It features an Helip P10 octa-core design clocked at up to 2.1 GHz as tested and is backed up by the ARM Mali-T860 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. There’s 32 GB of onboard storage, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front facing and it ships with Android 6.0.

This might be a newer positioning for the Moto X and may become more approachable for the consumer. (read: cheaper)

Leaked Invite Shows Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to Launch August 2

According to a leaked invite for the next Samsung Unpacked event in New York, Samsung will launch the next Note phone on August 2 2016. The invite shows a 7 and ties in with previous rumors that the company will this time around call their smartphone the Note 7 to tie in with the Galaxy 7 naming system.

The invite also mentions the fact that “the next edge is around the corner”, which could mean that either the Samsung Note 7 will have an edge, or that the company will launch two variants of the Galaxy Note 7.

  • HTC 10 Review

    HTC 10 Review

    [section label=”Initial Thoughts”]

HTC has been struggling with their phones, for the past few years. Post the success of the HTC One M7 , the HTC One M8 and especially the One M9 failed to impress the world. In India HTC, last year launched the HTC One M9+ instead of the One M9. While this was done to attract more buyers, most swayed away to the other realm of competition especially because Samsung had launched the S6 and S6 Edge and Apple’s iPhone 6s was just around the corner.

    HTC 10 iGyaan Review 0

While many were skeptical if HTC could make a comeback, the HTC 10 is the ultimate comeback king. This year HTC did not hold back on specifications, which has been an issue for the company in the past. HTC not only loaded the HTC 10 with the best hardware but also made it work really well. So should you be choosing the HTC 10 in your next Flagship purchase, there is more reason than ever, let’s discuss more in our review.

    HTC 10 Main 2

    [section label=”Build Quality and Design”]

    Build & Design

The build of the HTC 10, almost goes back in line with the HTC One M7, a single shell of Aluminum that s used to carve out space for fitting the innards of the phone. The HTC 10 is one beautiful smartphone, it exudes a premium look and is possibly the best-looking metal jacket smartphone out there.

    HTC 10 iGyaan Review 2

With the design, HTC kept it simple, big bold chamfers on the back not only give it an excellent and unique look but an excellent fit in the palms of your hand whether you have big or tiny hands. The decision to go with the 5.2-inch display as opposed to a 5.5-inch display is welcome and people will find that they not only get a punchier display but also a comfortably sized smartphone.

    HTC 10 iGyaan Review 14

The front gets Gorilla Glass 4, which gives the phone additional frontal protection. It also keeps the phone safe from scratches on the front. The metal construction is solid and despite several drops the phone is unscathed.

The HTC 10 misses out on waterproofing, which was a big plus on the Galaxy S7 this year. The HTC 10 only has an IP53 rating meaning, it will only survive basic splashes of water.

    [section label=”Hardware”]

    Hardware

This phone is loaded with the best of everything on the market right now. The HTC 10 gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with the Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM and a storage choice of 32 or 64 GB along with expandability up to a massive 2TB when cards are available.

    HTC 10 iGyaan Review 1

The rear gets improved 12 MP cameras, that HTC dubs “Ultrapixel 2″ and the front gets a 5 MP snapper. The HTC 10 is available in two colors the Carbon Grey and the Topaz Gold.

    [section label=”Performance”]

    Performance

Thanks to a cleaner HTC Sense UI and removal of duplicate apps, HTC has not only made the user experience more simplistic but has also removed redundancy in the day to day use of the phone, hence making the experience a more interesting one. The HTC 10 shows no sign of slow down despite several days of strict usage.

For heavy users, they will find that its a breeze switching between apps and playing high graphic intensity games. The phone scores excellent points on benchmarks and easily crosses the 110,000 mark on apps like Antutu Benchmark and scores 4747 on the Geekebench Multicore test putting it right on top of the comparison chart. The HTC 10 scores significantly better than the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5.

Owners will find themselves not being concerned with the usage of the phone, as it simply performs, so worrying about lag is a non-issue.

    HTC 10 MainMultimedia and Display

HTC 10 uses a new combination of speakers, a mid-range that sits next to the earpiece and a low range which sits next to the charging port. HTC calls this the BoomSound Hi-Fi edition. While we still prefer the original Boomsound layout, with two big speakers blasting loud music directly at our face, this is a more refined upgrade to that. A more fuller sound with a more accurate representation of what you are listening to.

    HTC 10 Audio

Audio is still loud, and great while watching a video or playing games. The HTC 10 also has a built-in DAC, which converts high-end digital audio to an analog signal. This significantly improves the audio quality of your files and now you can listen to high-res audio from the 3.5 mm headphone jack of the smartphone. Once you plug in your headphones, you’ll be asked to set up a personal audio profile which will enable you to listen for tones with each ear, allowing each user to setup headphones and tones specific to their ears and headphones. The HTC 10 supports multiple profiles for different headphones.

    HTC 10 Main 3

The display is bright, and vivid, and has an excellent color representation and wide viewing angles. The HTC 10 has a Super LCD 5 display running at Quad HD resolution. The color is much more refined than that of Samsung Galaxy S7’s Super AMOLED panel which tends to over saturate colors to make the screens look better than life. If you do prefer a more vibrant setup, the settings panel will allow you to switch your color modes.

The HTC 10 is also the first Android phone that supports Apple’s Airplay streaming, not only is this a welcome feature, it is the easiest and the best way to stream music if you have an Airplay device or an Airplay multiroom audio setup.

    [section label=”Software and UI”]

    Software & UI

Here is where HTC excelled with the HTC 10. The company had already been reducing the influence of Sense on Android as a UI layer. With the new Sense 8, HTC has gone into minimal interference while elevating the customer experience. The base of everything still remains Android, Android 6.0.1 this time around and HTC does still have things like the Blinkfeed interface which sits to the left of the main screen. Blinkfeed also should suggest some restaurants and Cafe’s where it is supported.

You can still change the size of the app drawer and you can still personalize the HTC 10 with custom themes, colors, and wallpapers. HTC’s apps are very limited but work really well , including the camera application, and the ZOE editor.

The phone dialer gets the usual HTC flavor with swipeable tabs, and the messaging app gets the stock Android treatment. The User interface is simple and flowy and easy to navigate through and HTC seems to have found the right mix with the HTC 10.

    [section label=”Camera”]

    Cameras

The main camera on the HTC 10 is a 12 MP shooter, and while the Galaxy S7 gets a lot of praise for the camera, the HTC 10 hold up a fantastic arena of its own. While HTC’s cameras in the past have failed to impress, that is certainly not the case this time around.

    htc 10 3

The f/1.8 is only 0.1 behind the f/1.7 on the Samsung Galaxy S7’s 12 MP camera. There is another difference here, while the HTC 10 has a Ultrapixel sensor which means that the pixels are 1.55 micron in size, those on the Galaxy S7 are only 1.4 micron in size. A larger pixel means more detail per pixel and more light passing through.

The camera is a breeze to operate, just like most of the UI, the experience of the camera is excellent. Low light performance is exceptional and the camera is quick to snap the moment. Laser autofocus with Phase detection comes into play and most of your snaps will end up being in focus right where you need them to be.

HTC 10 Sample iGyaan Review 0

Both the front and main cameras support optical image stabilization, so whether you are capturing selfies on a trampoline or just 4k video from the main camera, the stabilization is not only apparent it is great.

HTC 10 Sample iGyaan Review 1

Pictures are sharp and well saturated and have little noise in extremely dark environments. The contrast on the images is good, and the HTC 10 allows full manual control for those interested. You also have the ability to save RAW image files to tweak later on.

    [section label=”Phone and Battery”]

    Phone and Battery

The HTC 10 has full support for 4G LTE networks in India and you will get a solid sound on your calls as you would expect from an HTC device. Network switching is slow compared to others, so if you find yourself turning 4G off often, the dial times may take a while. Audio noise cancellation is superb and the HTC 10 outperforms most with respect to audio quality on phone calls.

    htc 10 2

The Quick Charge 3.0 on the 3000 mAh battery of the HTC 10 has been around way before “Dash Charge” from the OnePlus/ Oppo team. The protocol allows for the phone to achieve over 80% charge in less than an hour, easily attaining 60% or more in 30 minutes. This will not only change around how you charge the phone but how much less you care about charging the phone. While the LG G5 holds on to this feature, the Galaxy S7 ships without Quick Charge 3.0 and retains an older charge system.

The battery when fully charged will easily last you a day with a lot of online usage and camera. We traveled with the HTC 10 and seldom found ourselves looking for charge points even into late night hours.

You can easily get across 24 hours with the HTC 10 and then charge for 1 Hour and 15/20 minutes to get a full charge.

    [section label=”Conclusion”]

    Conclusion

The HTC 10 stands in a time frame much after the competition had already proven to be flagship defining . The HTC 10, however, redeems the top spot by simply undoing everything HTC did wrong and re-doing everything they did right. The HTC 10 ticks all the right checkboxes and in the right way. The company has not held back on their promise of building a quality product that will not let you down over time. The HTC 10 not only looks good on paper it looks even better in your hand, outperforming everything in its path with a certain poise.

  • OnePlus 3 vs LeEco Le Max 2

OnePlus 3 vs LeEco Le Max 2

With the official launch of the OnePlus 3 out of the way it has really come to a point where we can discuss the two elephants in the room. The LeEco’s Le Max 2 and the OnePlus 3 share quite a lot of similarities. However, this time around OnePlus has stayed away from the Hype and launched the phone outright, no invite system and no dramas for flash sales.

    Le Max 2 4

Both the OnePlus 3 and LeEco Le Max 2 have similar unibody metal designs, along with a camera module that sits slightly jutted out. The Le Max 2 has a fingerprint sensor on the back, whereas the OnePlus 3 keeps the sensor below the front display.

    OnePlus 3 iGyaan 13

Major differences lie in the way the two companies have perceived their markets. While the OnePlus 3 will only be available for a price of Rs. 27999 for a 6GB RAM + 64 GB storage model, the LeEco Le Max 2 has two options Rs. 22999 for the 4GB or RAM and 32 GB Storage and Rs. 29999 for the 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage model.

    Le Max 2 12

The higher price on the LeEco Le Max 2 also gives you a higher resolution QHD display 2560 x 1440 pixels, the OnePlus 3 features a lower resolution 1920 x 1080p display however now has a AMOLED display, a tech they are calling Optic AMOLED.

    OnePlus 3 iGyaan 14

The LeEco LeMax foregoes the 3.5mm headphone jack but does include a adapter inside the box. The OnePlus 3 still houses a 3.5mm headphone jack which means no finicky adapters. 7.99mm thickness for the LeEco Le Max 3, the OnePlus 3 keeps it slim with just 7.35 mm.

    Le Max 2 5

The cameras are another area that the LeEco LeMax has powers, with the 21MP rear snapper OIS, 6P Lens, f/2.0 Aperture, PDAF and Quick Focus. The OnePlus 3 keeps the rear camera at 16MP with a Sony sensor, you will still get OIS and EIS along with PDAF and an f/2.0 aperture. Both cameras will shoot 4k Video at 30fps. Both phones have similar 8MP front cameras however, the OnePlus 3 has a lower f/stop with an f/2.0 aperture vs the f/2.2 on the Le Max 2.

Both phones, have dual nano-SIM slots and run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipsets have LPDD4 RAM modules and UFS 2.0 storage. Both phones have their own prop quick charge technology LeCharge on Le Max 2 and DashCharge on the OnePlus 3, both offering similar speeds.

  • Can the OnePlus 3 Have a 16 MP Front and 8 MP Main Camera

Can the OnePlus 3 Have a 16 MP Front and 8 MP Main Camera

What seems to have been missed even by us, but noticed by some of our readers is the fact that the marketing fumble by OnePlus in the OnePlus 3 print AD mentions a camera anomaly of a 16 MP front and an 8 MP rear camera.

We spoke to our source who is tied closely with the Indian launch and he had no comment on the matter.

    OnePlus Ad

The Images leaked my OnePlus CEO, clicked by the OnePlus 3’s main camera seem to be low in resolution, and while many have not been able to measure the exact size, most image sharing sites tend to compress the actual image to get any real information regarding the main camera.

In a time where people are clicking more selfies than rear pictures, could OnePlus have chosen to swap cameras around, or is it simply more salt to the marketing fumble, and luckily they misprinted the specs too.

Either way everything will be revealed at 10PM tonight.

OnePlus 3 Outed by Company Marketing Fumble; Costs Rs 27999

Someone at OnePlus must be going through a tough time, as the company seems to have fumbled the release of its print AD on the 14th of June instead of the the actual 16th June release.

The phone which will be an Amazon exclusive will launch for a price of Rs 27999 for the 6GB RAM + 64 GB variant which is Rs. 2000 below the recently launched LeEco Le Max 2 with similar specs.

OnePlus users will also get access to 12 months of Saavn Pro and Idea double data for the same period. The company is also providing 1-year of accidental damage protection with OnePlus Care. Previous leaks have told us that the 4GB + 32GB variant will be priced at Rs 23999, if it launches at the same time.

The Advertisement also confirms that the phone will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with a 16MP + 8MP camera configuration. The OnePlus 3 will also support the dash charge protocol revealed earlier.

You can also expect the fingerprint scanner/sensor in the same location as the OnePlus 2 which seems much better than a rear sensor. The Ad touts quick fingerprint unlock times, 0.2 seconds.
