Samsung Will Unveil the Galaxy S7 in Two Variants

While these is still a few months before Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S7, the rumour mill is working hard and fast to deliver news about the device. The yet to be revealed Samsung S7 will come in two variants, according to reports. The SM-G930 and the SM-G935 would follow the league of their predecessors and come equipped with their own specific features.

    Galaxy S6 Edge + plus iGyaan 14

The Galaxy S7 is codenamed Project Lucky, while the company refers to the two phones as Hero and Hero2. One of the two phones would have Exynos 8890 as its processor, while the other would have Snapdragon 820 SoC. Like the Galaxy S6, both of these phones would have UFS 2.0 storage. The South Korean tech giant may also have developed microSD card slots to work in unison with UFS 2.0, but this piece of information is yet to be confirmed.

The camera of the smartphone is expected to feature either dual-sensor setup, or a 20MP ISOCELL sensor. The display would be flat for one phone, and with a dual-edge curve for other.

After having launched the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 last month, hopes are high from the next Samsung gadgets. Let’s see how the company fares this time.

Benchmark Tests Reveal iPhone 6s is as Powerful as the Retina Macbook 2015

Watching an event and seeing the new iPhone 6s is really not the same as actually having it in your hand and unboxing it yourself. Unboxing a new phone is as surreal as ripping open your birthday gift, except you really don’t want to rip open the iPhone 6s box. So, here’s what you should do – an iPhone user named Adrienne Alpern from California, just received her all-new rose gold iPhone 6s and at the request of her friends unboxed it with care, took some cool pictures and even put the device through a Geekbench 3 benchmark test.

    iPhone 6s 0

Now reports have suggested some mighty good things about the new device. The scores from Geekbench benchmark suggest that the iPhone 6s is as powerful as the 12 inch Retina Macbook released on April 2015. The iPhone 6s has scored 2,292 in the single core test while scoring a 4,293 in the multi core test. These numbers are very close to the Retina Macbook scores. Have a look yourself :

What makes the iPhone 6s better? Well, Adrienne Alpern has also posted a couple of 4k videos showing off the 12MP rear camera and the 8MP front camera.

    Here is a video:

And even the rose gold seems to be working very well for the new device. This is all we have for you to gorge on until our own unboxing of the iPhone 6s. So stay tuned.

Xiaomi Mi 4c Will Not Launch In India

Xiaomi unveiled its Mi 4c yesterday at Rs.13,500 and after studying its specs we soon realised that it was a whole lot like the OnePlus 2 and could be Xiaomi’s unofficial response to its competition. However, unlike most Chinese vendor smartphones that eventually get released in India a little later, Xiaomi’s India rep confirmed to iGyaan that this phone will not get released in India. Despite that, let us have a look at its features since it’s OnePlus’ new competitor.

  • Here’s Why the Upcoming LG Nexus 5X Comes with Snapdragon 808

Here’s Why the Upcoming LG Nexus 5X Comes with Snapdragon 808

You may be aware that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810 processors were announced last year. Since then the processors have been slowly making its way into smartphones, with LG G4 being the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 808. The recent China-only Xiaomi Mi 4c also sports the 808 as its SoC and the upcoming Nexus 5X will feature the same.

But what exactly does the Snapdragon 808 deliver? We’ve decided to provide a deeper understanding into the specs of the processor to show just what it is capable of delivering.

Right off the bat, the Snapdragon 808 features a high performing CPU that clocks in around 2000 MHz, with 6 cores that result in faster mutli-tasking. The processor is also able to reduce energy consumption as it couples slower, low power processor cores with faster, high-power processor cores. The big or faster cores are used for computation-intensive tasks such as gaming.

The GPU is a significant upgrade from the previous 801 processor. While the 801 had an Adreno 330 GPU, the 808 features an Adreno 418 GPU, which delivers better graphics by creating larger blocks of data. Some of the devices that feature the Snapdragon 808 are LG G4, LG Nexus 5X, Xiaomi Mi Edge, and Xiaomi Mi 4c to name a few. Here’s a spec table that will tell you all you need to know about the Snapdragon 808 processor.

CPU Dual-core ARM Cortex A57 up to 2 GHz and quad-core A53 with 64-bit support
    GPU Adreno 418 GPU
DSP Hexagon V56 DSP (up to 800MHz)
RAM Interface 933 MHz 64-bit LP-DDR3 SDRAM interface
    Connectivity USB 3.0/2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi Qualcomm VIVE™ 2-stream 802.11n/ac with MU-MIMO
    Primary Camera Support 55 MP
    Display Resolution Support 2560 x 1600 pixels
    Process Technology 20 nm

  • Leaked Images Confirm Names Of Nexus Devices

Leaked Images Confirm Names Of Nexus Devices

Just a few days ago, we had reported leaks that suggested the names of the two Nexus smartphones that will be launched on September 29 at the Google event – the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Now, some leaked images of the retail boxes confirm the names for good.

Nexus 5X and 6P Reatail Box

As you can see, the images of the retail box obtained by Android Police sport a large X for the Nexus 5X and a large P for the Nexus 6P, with what could be the Android stock wallpaper within. You can also see the Nexus logo on the bottom right while the upper left side reveals the model’s name, storage, and a silhouette of the phone.

We know that LG is responsible for the 5X and Huawei is behind the 6P. A lot has already been leaked on the specs of the phones such as  a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset, with 3 GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch display; a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front for the Huawei 6P.

The LG Nexus 5X, on the other hand will feature a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, Adreno 418 GPU with 3 GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display; a 12.3-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front, with a 2700mAh battery.

Rumours also suggest that the Huawei Nexus 6P will come in a 128 GB variant which is a first for a Google developed device. Both the devices will run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Also, the devices are said to sport fingerprint sensors and USB Type-C ports as well.

We’re a little less than a week away from the launch of the Nexus smartphones and we have pretty much everything we need to know about the devices in terms of specs and now the names, if the leaks are all true. The only thing that remains is the look of the phones, and don’t be surprised if leaked images of the device emerge just before the event. Follow this space for more on the Google launch.

The phone features a 5-inch 1080p display and the ‘Sunlight Display’ is said to offer “excellent visibility in bright conditions”. The phone comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with face detection autofocus – like the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 – for quicker autofocusing. The smartphone will be available in two variants – 16 GB internal with 2 GB RAM and 64 GB internal with 3 GB RAM.

The Mi 4c, though priced at a very low Rs. 13,500 (approx.), can hold its own when compared to the OnePlus 2. • Huawei Nexus 6P To Come With 128 GB Storage

Huawei Nexus 6P To Come With 128 GB Storage

It’s 2015 and our tolerance for 16 GB storage is almost coming to an end. Google is hearing your wishes loud and clear, the result of which will be seen by the end of the month. According to a report by Android Police, the upcoming Huawei Nexus 6P will feature a cool 128 GB of internal storage. The phone will also be available in 32 GB and 64 GB variants.

If the report is true, it would make the Huawei Nexus the first Google developer device to offer such a high storage capacity. Last year’s Nexus 6 had 32 GB and 64 GB variants. Google’s next flagship phablet is unlikely to feature a MicroSD card slot. The three variants will be separated by a price difference of anywhere between $50-100. The LG Nexus 5X that will be launched along with Huawei Nexus 6P, will be offered in 32 GB and 64 GB variants.

Other features of the Nexus 6P include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset, with 3 GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch display. Both Nexus’ will run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and will debut on September 29th at the event in San Francisco. So if you’re looking to go big on storage for your next smartphone, you may want to start saving up from now.

Rumour: Galaxy S7 Might Be Samsung’s First Full Metal Device

The tech world is really fast when it comes to improving things. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge + is still pretty new and there are already rumours afloat about what might be called the Galaxy S7. Apparently, the new smartphone might use magnesium alloy in the construction of its body.

    Galaxy S6 Edge + plus iGyaan 17

While, the Galaxy S6 uses an aluminum frame and a glass body, the rumoured S7 could be Samsung’s first full metal flagship device, ever. The reason for this is reportedly because the metal is lighter and more durable as compared to its glass-bodied devices, plus magnesium generates much less heat than aluminum, which is something the smartphone industry is definitely looking at as a feature in all their phones.

Finally, the galaxy S7 is allegedly coming out in the first half of 2016, there’s not much else that is known about this device, as of now.
