Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra First Look

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series on 14th of January 2021. While the S21 will be a popular device all eyes are on the Galaxy S21 Ultra which apart from being a flagship, shows off what the company is not only capable of,  but, also what direction it is heading in.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra starts at a price of Rs. 105999 for the 12 GB variant with 256GB storage and costs Rs. 116999 for the 16 GB variant with 512 GB storage. There are discounts however, during preorder a Rs. 6000 instant discount and Rs. 10000 discount using HDFC cards.

    Unboxing Experience

The box of the Galaxy S21 Ultra resembles the iPhone 12 series boxes. Its a slim box and it is missing a charger. But the box is also missing earphones and the standard back protection case.  Apart from the phone box has some documentation, the USB C to USB C cable and a sim tool .

    Design and Build

Samsung has focused a lot on making the design of the Galaxy S21 series a lot more refined. The new color choices paired with the new Gorilla Glass Victus finishes allows for the “phantom” colors to have a leather like effect. The Phantom black is a matte black finished back panel that simulated a very soft letter like feel in the hand. The phone is durably built and has a IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Samsung had already done away with the headphone jack so all you see is a water sealed USB C port which is used for charging and data. The display has subtle curves on either side making the rather large and unwieldy Galaxy S21 Ultra comfortable to hold with side grip.

The camera bump is now a part of the frame and looks more natural. overall first impression from the design and build are good.

    Display and Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a massive 6.8 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display which has a WQHD+ 3200 x 1440 px resolution. This gives the device a 515 ppi pixel density.  The display also has a peak brightness of 1500 nits and is protected by the same Victus glass that is seen on the back of the phone. The display has an ever so slight curve that makes it look premium and also improves the viewing experience as it simulates an edgeless display.

120 Hz on the display has been a standard for a while but the Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of that at maximum resolution. even though on Samsung’s adaptive refresh rate mode.

Samsung has included 4 cameras on the back of the S21 Ultra . The main 108MP camera which has an f/1.8 aperture. will shoot 12 MP shots in the auto mode. two telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x zoom allow for a more versatile zoom experience. while the 3x has an f/2.4 aperture the 10x has an f/4.9 aperture which means that low light performance will be abysmal on the 10x.

There is an ultra wide 12 MP sensor which has an f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera is also capable of 8K video 24fps and 4K video at 60fps. The S21 Ultra is also capable of slow motion video at 1080p at upto 240fps and at 720p at upto 960fps.

The front facing camera sits in the centre punch hole on the top of the display and is a 40 MP sensor with an f/2.2 Aperture and is capable of 4k video at upto 60fps.

    Hardware and Performance

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will not disappoint with respect to performance. And even though India still gets the Exynos based devices. The Exynos 2100 is pretty well matched with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Both are built on the 5 NM process and offer up an octave core CPU experience. However Samsung’s Exynos 2100 is clocked much higher with a 2.9 GHz top clock.  The GPU lacks behind on the Samsung chip, but they are well matched for AI computation capabilities and ISP performance with the 888′ spectra 580 providing computational HDR video capabilities which the Galaxy S21 Ultra misses out on.

Benchmarks are up there and performance from the device for the couple of days we have tested is irrefutably smooth. However, the Exnos 2100 when pushed seems to be getting the top back corner of the Galaxy 21 Ultra uncomfortably hot. We are using a pre release device with pre release software. So the clocks may be adjusted for the final release.

    Battery and Connectivity

The 5000mAh battery does justice to the phone. Samsung continues to include 25W charging as that seems to be sweet spot for battery charging speeds. No charger is included however, Samsung will happily sell you one for Rs. 2000.

The phone supports USB PD3 and wireless charging upto 15W. You can also reverse charge in case of emergencies for upto 4.5W.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Series is 5G capable whether you get the Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100 variant. Both have Sub 6 and mmWave 5G bands. However, India is yet to fully roll out 5G for the next year or so and by that time S22 series will be out.

The phone has 2 sim slots and no microSD expansion. Bluetooth 5.2 along with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO for location mapping.  The fingerprint sensor is located under the display and is an ultrasonic sensor which makes for super quick unlocks.

If you are a business user the Galaxy S21 Ultra also offers Samsung DeXand Samsung Wireless DeX for on the go productivity.

Samsung seems to have ticked all the right boxes, however our testing has just begun and if first impressions are something to go by, The Galaxy S21 Ultra will be tough competitor for upcoming phones of 2021.

    Design & Build

The HP Zbook X2 G4 is a workstation laptop and its design and form factor reflect that philosophy. It is made out of stiffened anodised aluminium and is designed to pass military-standard stress testing. In simpler words, it can withstand accidental drops without receiving critical damage. The device feels sturdy which showcases its productivity-focused aesthetics.

Furthermore, HP Zbook X2 G4 is a hybrid laptop which means it has a detachable keyboard. It implies that users can completely separate both halves and achieve mobile typing or complete tablet experience. Display

The display of the HP Zbook X2 G4 is pretty vivid. The 14 inch 3840 X 2160px display panel is 4K matte screen which offers great viewing experience. It is a bright display and although it doesn’t have eye-catching colours one would see in a normal display; it has an anti-reflective screen that provides better readability even under bright light. Notably, the display is surrounded by thick bezels on all four sides. Nevertheless, the area is put to good use as the left and right bezels accommodate physical buttons to control features like volume and brightness.

    Keyboard, Trackpad & Speakers

HP Zbook X2 G4 has a full-sized keyboard that accompanies it alongside a smooth trackpad. Users can choose between having it attached or detached or even opt for an on-screen keyboard in tablet mode. The keyboard gets the work done and typing experience on the machine is better than several other hybrid laptops with such thin keyboards. As previously mentioned, HP also offers Bang & Olufsen speakers with the laptop which are placed at the top of the display.

Being a workstation laptop, HP Zbook X2 G4 is shipped with an HP Pen. The stylus is found inside the accessory box and is a great offering for a productivity centric laptop. The pen can be used to take quick notes or make drawings and has precise registration on the display.

    Performance

Since the HP Zbook X2 G4 is a device aimed at professionals, it features an eighth-gen Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core CPU. Besides, it is also equipped with 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA Quadra M620 GPU which facilitates the graphic intensive tasks.

    • NVIDIA Quadro M620 (2GB GDDR5) GPU
    • 14-inch 4K AntiGlare LED-Backlit Display

As previously mentioned, the HP ZBook X2 G4 is designed while keeping professionals in mind, it has rear-facing air vents and dual fans that keep the temperatures under check even while running CPU intensive tasks. For average users, the device may be overkill but for professionals, it is a worthy productive machine in a compact form factor.

  • HP Spectre Folio Unboxing And Hands-On

HP Spectre Folio Unboxing And Hands-On

American computer maker HP has launched its latest premium offering, the Spectre Folio in India. It is the world’s first convertible to arrive in an all leather casing. With features like 8th Gen Intel CPUs, and a HP Pen, the Folio is targetted towards business users. Here is our experience with the Unboxing and Hands-On with the device.

    What’s Inside The Box?

    • HP Spectre Folio
    • USB Type-C Charger
    • Quick Start Guide
    • Power Cable Chord
    • HP Pen
    Design & Build

The HP Spectre Folio is a premium laptop. The Folio is completely wrapped in leather. The device has an aluminum casing inside, but it feels as if the leather was part of the device right from the start. The device feels sturdy and very premium. The feel is unlike any laptop in the market. The Build quality of the device is solid and the Folio is a joy to hold in hands.

There are also many modes on the Spectre Folio. The display is split in half and held by magnets that are as stable as any clamshell notebook. Then, the display can be flipped inward at the center and pulled forward to just behind the touchpad, where magnets hold it in media mode. Finally, the display can be pulled even further inward to a tablet mode. Unlike 360-degree convertible designs, the keyboard is covered by the display here.

    Display

The display of the Spectre Folio is pretty great too. The 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 panel is a 1W panel. This means the display won’t take up much juice out of the battery. The colors on the Folio’s display are sharp, have good contrast and should be pretty good for occasional usage. The display doesn’t get a lot bright but this won’t be a problem if you plan on using this device indoors. The bezels though, feel a little chunky for 2019 and it feels like HP could have made them a little smaller.

    Keyboard, Trackpad, & Speakers

The Spectre Folio has a full-size keyboard and a trackpad. But because of its thin and light nature, the keyboard on the Folio has a little travel so the keys feel a little mushy. If you are coming from a tactile keyboard, you would need to adjust to the keyboard on the Spectre Folio. The trackpad is also fine on its own, it’s just a very small one. If only HP provided a bigger trackpad with the device. The speakers too, are average for casual movie watching and get plenty loud. Tent mode of the Folio is a genius idea as it creates a sound chamber behind the display, making it easy to immerse in the media.

    Pen and Touch Input

The Spectre Folio has a stylus inside the box, which is a good thing. But there is no magnetic connector for the stylus. There is though, a leather pocket HP has made near the display to keep the pen in. The touch input on the laptop works as good as it gets. The pen also is good for drawing and registering more precise touches. Overall, the touchscreen on the Spectre Folio is a good addition to the convertible and it makes it more useful.

    Performance

Because of its fanless nature, the HP Spectre Folio runs on the Intel Core i7 8500Y processor and 16GB of RAM. The ‘Y’ here means it is the low power variant of the i7 and it shows in day to day usage of the device. It runs fine while doing everyday tasks like browsing the web or using Microsoft Office for your, well office work. But give the Spectre Folio something intensive and it would struggle. While trying out photo or video editing on the device, it became sluggish to use.

Gaming also isn’t a USP of the device as the device doesn’t have a discrete GPU. Overall, the performance of the Spectre Folio is good for everyday usage and office work. It is not made for gaming or editing though. But there is a Thunderbolt port for those seeking extra power and can plug in an external GPU for gaming. The RAM on the device is adequate though, as 16GB will be more than enough for most people for day to day usage.

    Connectivity And Other Features

The HP Spectre Folio has 2 Thunderbolt ports and one Type-C 3.1 port. It also has a 3.5mm jack for connecting speakers or headphones. The port selection on the Folio is great and the addition of Thunderbolt makes things better. The webcam on the device is a FullHD one but the quality is average. It is fine for occasional video calls. The Spectre Folio also has support for Windows Hello facial recognition and it is very quick to login.

    Pricing And Availablity

  • Unboxing The Samsung Galaxy S9+

    Unboxing The Samsung Galaxy S9+

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India at a starting price of Rs. 57900. Both the smartphones will go on sale via Flipkart and Samsung.com from the 16th of March. However, the preorders began a day after its official global launch. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ and S9 succeed the highly popular S8+ and S8 from early-2017. So, do the new Galaxy S9 flagship smartphones have enough to replicate the success of 2017?

Let’s unbox the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and see what we get:

    • AKG Earphones

    Samsung Galaxy S9+ First Impressions

The first noticeable aspect of the S9+ is its familiarity. If you’ve ever held a Galaxy S8+, this device won’t feel all too different. The screen size is the same while the bezels have been ever so slightly trimmed. The infamous Bixby button retains its place on the left side of the Galaxy S9+. The power button can be found on the right while the volume rockers are situated just above the Bixby button.

    Samsung Galaxy S9+
    Bixby Button

One of the most requested changes in the Galaxy S9+ and S9 is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. In our review of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, we mentioned the unusual placement of the sensor which prompted many users to use the iris scanner instead. This time around, the fingerprint sensor is placed below the camera module. While there was barely any difference between the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, things are a bit different this time around.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a single camera on the back while the Galaxy S9+ has a dual-camera setup, similar to the Galaxy Note8. Despite its large 6.2 inch display, it isn’t cumbersome to hold the S9+. One-handed usage will be tough for people with smaller hands and ghost touch is still an issue. Although Samsung has optimised its software to prevent accidental touches, it isn’t foolproof yet.

    Samsung Galaxy S9+

    Samsung Galaxy S9+ Specifications

As is with its smaller sibling, the Galaxy S9+ has the same screen size as the Galaxy S8+. It sports a 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2960 x 1440 px resolution.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Exynos 9810 chipset. The Galaxy S9+ is available in 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/256GB models in India.

Out of the box, the Galaxy S9+ runs Android 8 Oreo with Experience 9.0 on top. Powering the smartphone is a 3500 mAh battery, just like the Galaxy S8+. The smartphone will support wireless charging as well. Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S9+ also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The main difference between the two S9 models this year is in the camera department. Unlike its predecessor, the Galaxy S9+ has a dual-camera setup on the back. The Galaxy S9+ has one wide-angle 12MP camera with an f/1.5 aperture and the other is a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The telephoto lens is the same one found on the Galaxy Note8, which means it has OIS. On the front of the smartphone is an 8MP camera with an f/1.6 aperture and records 4K videos.

LeEco Le Max 2 Hands on Video

LeEco’s newest entrant has no 3.5 mm headphone jack but that does not stop it from getting all the attention especially because the phone has been launched for a price of Rs. 22999 which is roughly US $ 342.

    Le Max 2 16

The LeMax 2 will go on sale later this month and is expected to attract a lot of demand, especially because the price is slightly less than the price expectation of the OnePlus 3 which is expected to go on sale for Rs. 23999 for the same configuration of 4GB RAM plus 32GB of Storage.

The Le Max will be available in a larger 6GB RAM plus 64 GB Storage for a price of Rs 29999 roughly US $ 447. Which will co-incide with the OnePlus 3’s larger variant expected to launch for the same price. Watch our video below.

  • Hands On LG K7 and K10 LTE

Hands On LG K7 and K10 LTE

LG has just launched the K7 LTE and K10 LTE variants in India, for Rs. 9500 and Rs. 13500 respectively. For the specs available on these handsets, they cost a lot more than most of the competition.

The K7 features a 5.0 inch 480 x 854 pixel IPS display, Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 chipset with Quadcore 1.1 GHz along with 8GB Storage and 1.5 GB RAM. The phone has a 8 MP primary Camera that shoots 720p video and a 5 MP front camera.

The build of the phone is exciting and feels premium, the display is shabby for the price, offering roughly 191 ppi. The back panel adds a lot of grip, and the overall form factor fits well in the hands.

The K10, on the other hand has an entirely different back panel which looks and feels a whole lot better than the one on the K7. Specs wise a 5.2 inch 1280 x 720 px display, Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 with Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53, Adreno 306 GPU. The Phone will come with 16 GB Storage and 1.5 GB RAM. The K10 on the back has a bigger sensor with 13 MP, f/2.2 and autofocus while the front gets a 8 MP camera both offering a maximum of 1080p video.

While both these phones feature a 2.5D arc screen which curves out to the edge, only the K10 comes with an included cover offers Galaxy S7 type Edge notifications, with the use of the cover.

LG’s plans seem unsure with the K series and with such high pricing, we are not sure if people will even look to buy these handsets, thanks to mighty competition of the LeEco and Xiaomi variety.

  • Hands On : Xiaomi Mi 5 Unboxing

Hands On : Xiaomi Mi 5 Unboxing

Xiaomi Mi 5 launched in India early but left a lot of people disappointed with its high price tag of 24999 for the base variant. Which by chance is the only option available in India on the April 6th sale and that too only in the white color.

    xiaomi mi 5 igyaan 8

The Mi 5 is extremely light weight for the specs it is packing, weighing in at a little over 130 gms. (Xiaomi claims 129 gms)

    xiaomi mi 5 igyaan 10

Inside the box of the Mi5 You will get :

    • The Mi 5 Handset
    • USB Wall Brick
    • USB Type C Cable
    • Documentation
    • Sim Ejector Tool

The handset on the back tapers just like the Galaxy S7 giving it an excellent grip in the hand. The cameras are impressive with f/2.0 aperture on the rear as well as the front camera. The front camera has a 2-micron pixel size and a 1/3″ sensor which in itself is pretty massive for a smartphone.

    xiaomi mi 5 igyaan 7

Xiaomi may have pushed a whole lot of customers away by pricing the phone at a higher than expected Rs. 24999. However, for the price, it is extremely premium and loaded with high-end specs. What is a bigger let down is the availability of only one model and only one color of the handset in the market, where the customer is left struggling to make that decision.

The Snapdragon 820 chipset along with a 3000 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 is a significant upside of the new Mi 5, however, so is the set of cameras and the overall premium look and feel.

We will be reviewing the handset shortly.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016): Hands On

Samsung today unveiled the refreshed models of the budget, Galaxy A5 and A7 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Galaxy A5 2016 model is priced at Rs 29,400 and A7 2016 at Rs. 33,400 in India, and will be available through Snapdeal and other offline retailers.

The updated A7 features the glass and metal design found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and comes with a bunch of new features and specs. The A7 sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED FHD screen with 1920 x 1080p resolution and a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage and 3,300 mAh Fast Charging battery.

On the camera front, the A7 features a 13MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and OIS. The front camera also features an f/1.9 aperture. It is further equipped with fingerprint sensor. The phone will be available in three color variants gold, black and white. The dual-SIM A7 is priced at Rs. 33,400.

A7 has 4G LTE support and comes in three colour variants -Gold, Black and White. The phone is definitely more expensive than expected. The device has an extremely premium build and feel, but the specs are not fancy enough for the design. Only FHD display and 3 GB of RAM does not make for an impressive device in a market which already has way too many options to choose from. Find the complete specifications of Samsung Galaxy A7 below and let us know in the comments section if this phone catches your fancy.

  • Hands On with the Honor 5X

Hands On with the Honor 5X

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched the Honor 5X in India. The successor to the Honor 4X made its debut in China earlier this month after its unveiling at CES 2016.The Honor 5X is priced at Rs 12,999 with preorders starting yesterday and sales starting from February 1 on Amazon and Flipkart.

In terms of design, the Honor 5X sports an aircraft-grade metal unibody construction with a fingerprint scanner at the back that promises 0.5 seconds unlocking time and can also be used to capture photos. The device gives a premium look for a budget-friendly smartphone, keeping it on par with the Le 1s that was launched last week. These devices show us that budget phones are turning out to be the new premium.

    Huawei Honor 5X iGyaan 4

The Honor 5X sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution, and a pixel density of 401 ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC with Adreno 405 GPU. The 5X is available in 2GB of RAM options with 16GB onboard storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

    Huawei Honor 5X iGyaan 0

On the camera front, the Honor 5X gets a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter. Both the rear and front cameras are impressive and fast, especially when shifting focus. The colors are a touch darker than the actual setting which helps in capturing blacks well. The shutter is on the slower side as well.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G (Dual SIM). The device gets its juice from a 3000mAh battery pack with Smart Power 3.0. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop which is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

    Huawei Honor 5X iGyaan 3

The Honor 5X does have a premium look, and the metal unibody construction does well to add to that. However, it fails to grab our attention when compared to LeEco’s Le 1s, which was launched last week at Rs 2000 cheaper at that.

The UI isn’t as snappy and fluid as one would hope, especially in its initial usage, which may put off a lot of buyers. It takes a couple of seconds before the Gallery or Camera apps open.

  • Hands On With The Le 1s

Hands On With The Le 1s

LeEco (formerly known as LeTV) unveiled to eager audiences last week the Le 1s. This budget phone from the Chinese phone maker has finally arrived in India, and will be sold exclusively through Flipkart.

The device is marked for a price of Rs 10,999, and will start retail via flash sales on the 2nd of February. Registration for the device is already open.

The Phone will be available in one variant, with pretty impressive specs for the price. The Le 1s will come equipped with a MediaTek X10 Turbo running at 2.2 GHz. It will house a VR6200 GPU, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.

    Letv LeEco 1s iGyaan 1

The ‘SuperPhone’ will also support Dual Sim 4G connectivity, backed by a 3000mAh battery pack in only one color option. It’s slimmer than the Le Max at 7.5 mm, and will boast of a 5.5-Inch Full HD Display, with a clarity of 403 ppi.

The Le 1s has a couple of other  fancy tricks up its sleeve. It comes with the LeTouch Mirror Faced fingerprint scanner which will be the first finger scanner in the world with mirror surface. It will also come equipped with USB Type- C charging, and fast charging which will enable it to be used for 3.5 hours on a 5-minute charge.

The design is a full metal double chamber unibody design. It will be made completely out of Aircraft grade aluminium, and just like the Le Max will be bezel-less.

    Letv LeEco 1s iGyaan 7

Our initial response towards the Le 1s is favourable. Design and build wise, the Le 1s looks premium and has a solid frame. The metallic body is smooth and feels great in the hand. The device is on the heavier side at around 160 grams, which is 30 grams more than the iPhone 6. The mirror faced fingerprint sensor on the back looks great as well, although the LeTV sticker gives it a rather cheap look.

The display is bright and the colours are sharp especially the blacks. The bezel-less screen makes the display look big although there is a black frame within the display, but you won’t be complaining about that when the screen is turned off.

    Letv LeEco 1s iGyaan 6

Coming to the camera, the phone comes loaded with a front 5 MP shooter, and a rear 13 MP high definition rear shooter. It will have a ‘Blue Glass Infrared Filter’ F2.0 aperture and High CSR Flash for great looking pictures. The camera is pretty good and the quality is sharp, especially in outdoor conditions.

We’ll have an unboxing and hands-on video up soon so stay tuned for that, Meanwhile, have a look at the spec table for everything you need to know.

Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G Launched in India: Unboxing and Hands-On

Micromax has just launched a new 4G-enabled smartphone in India. The Canvas Pulse 4G is the newest budget device from the company and is priced at Rs. 9,999. The device goes on sale on Flipkart starting today. The Canvas Pulse 4G is the company’s third launch following Canvas Mega and Canvas Sega 4G priced at Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 10,999, respectively.

Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G iGyaan 1

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics Ltd said, “India is currently at the cusp of 4G evolution, and Micromax is fully prepared to lead this march with a range of 4G devices from value to premium segments, which deliver best-in-class performance and design across price points for the diverse Indian consumers. Our latest launch, Canvas Pulse 4G is our premium yet powerful product with Flipkart offering 3GB RAM and Octacore at a never before price reiterating our commitment to democratizing technology for the new age digital natives who want to be connected all the time.

Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G iGyaan 2

In terms of specs, the Canvas Pulse 4G sports a 5-inch HD IPS screen and is powered by a 1.3 GHz octal-core processor with MediaTek (MT 6753) chipset, with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage expandable up to 32 GB via Micro SD card slot.

Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G iGyaan 3

On the camera front the device features a 13MP rear with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front with f/2.4 aperture. The phone is fitted with a 2100mAh battery and comes with the usual set of connectivity features that includes 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The Canvas Pulse 4G runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

We did a quick unboxing and hands-on of the device. The handset feels light in your hand and the size is just right for one-handed tasks. The back plastic panel is smooth and feels great in your hand, though a lack of a firm grip may dissuade some buyers. The metallic sides and rectangular frame adds to the overall aesthetics of device and gives a premium feel to it, which is not a common sight for a device in the price bracket.

    Inside the box:

    • USB wall charger
    • Earphones
    • Screen Protector
    • User Manual

The 5MP front camera also comes with LED flash as well a Gesture Shot which clicks a picture by simply creating a ‘V’ on the screen with your hand.

The UI is pretty fluid and snappy as one would expect from a budget device these days. The app tray leaves the main screen clear, though the device does come with a bunch of bloatware, which you can uninstall. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and there is no word yet on whether it will get a Marshmallow update.

A 2,100mAh battery isn’t much to brag about here but but basic usage with the device will get you through the day.
