  • HTC One Makes an Appearance in Gold

HTC One Makes an Appearance in Gold

We recently witnessed Apple unveil the new iPhone 5s in a new Gold color variant, earlier this week. It now appears that another flagship smartphone is all set to join the Gold league that was kicked off by Apple.

HTC’s flagship, the Full HD screen phone has been spotted in a Gold colour. The leaked images have been posted by the Chinese forum Weibo. The leaked images show the front and rear chassis of the HTC One Gold model. However, the parts from the rear panel are missing in the images. The site does not reveal any additional details related to the alleged HTC One Gold variant.

Originally the HTC One was launched in two colour variants, Black and Silver. Soon, the company showcased a ‘Glamour Red’ version of the device. The Glamour Red variant of HTC One was offered initially in the UK.

Recently, HTC announced a new colour option for the HTC One, dubbed as Vivid Blue which joined the three existing colour options – Black, Silver and Red. Recently, it was announced that the HTC One will get Android 4.3 by the end of September.

  • Alleged Nexus 5 Images Leak As It Passes Through FCC

Alleged Nexus 5 Images Leak As It Passes Through FCC

We’ve seen glimpses of a device that resembles a next-generation Nexus — it even has the eponymous logo on the back — in a Google promo video, and today we see a similar product added to the FCC documents of the Verizon LG G2. Strange, we know.

PhoneScoop spotted the FCC filings with the images and you can see the resemblance of the tested phone with the one in the Google video that was quickly pulled.

As seen in screen captures from the promo vid, the Nexus 5 looks to have a much larger camera lens than the previous version, but retains the rounded corners of the Nexus 4. One of the biggest changes is a move away from a glass back, as pretty as it was, in favour of a rubbery polycarbonate that should be a lot more durable.

It’s unclear from the photo what size the screen is, but we’ve been lead to believe Google has opted for a 5-inch 1080p display, slightly smaller than the upcoming LG G2.

LG Nexus 5 should become available sometime in November with the new Android 4.4 KitKat operating system flavor loaded on top.  LG did a great job on the Nexus 4 and with newer hardware — think a Snapdragon 800 chip and full HD screen — the Nexus 5 is already looking good.

  • Next Gen Amazon Kindle Fire HD Image Leak

Next Gen Amazon Kindle Fire HD Image Leak

A day after Apple unveiled a new iPhone lineup that had effectively been revealed weeks earlier by anonymous people in the hardware supply chain, a new set of leaked photos purports to show Amazon’s next Kindle Fire HD, as reported by BGR.

It’s thought that Amazon may release the 7-inch version ahead of the 8.9-inch version.

The 2013 Kindle Fire HD models feature an extensive design overhaul. The rounded shape on the back of the current models has been replaced with a more angular design that gives the device a much harder look. Also as we described, the buttons have been completely redesigned since the current layout was a big pain point for many users. The stereo speakers on the back of the Kindle Fire HD have now been moved to the top of the device, as seen in several of our exclusive photos. The band across the bottom on the back of the current HD tablets has been removed, leaving a smooth back surface interrupted only by Amazon’s logo.

It’s believed that the 7-inch tablet will have a 1920×1200 display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at more than 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, optional cellular data, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The 8.9-inch version will have a 2560×1600 display and 8MP camera.

  • Twitter App For Android Leaks

    Twitter App For Android Leaks

During Samsung’s IFA unveiling of the Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1, they inadvertently showed “the redesigned Twitter app” for Android tablets. The basics of the app worked exactly how Twitter for Android smartphones operates, just optimized for larger tablet displays (similar to Twitter for iPad).

There was no firm release date by Twitter, but for those deeply into the social media platform – perhaps while watching TV – can go forth and download the app as a copy as a APK has founds its place online. While the APK is available for installation (thanks to the industrious folks over at Android Next), the installer package is tricky to get working. If you can get it to work, the app probably won’t run all that great. But, it’s a great sign of what’s to come, and hopefully, the official version of the tablet-optimized Twitter app for Android will be available soon.

For those who have been complaining that Android tablets aren’t getting all of the apps that they should, this is an encouraging sign.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 Poses Next To The Xperia Z In New Leak

Nokia Lumia 1520 Poses Next To The Xperia Z In New Leak

Nokia’s entrance into the phablet space is fast approaching and the Lumia 1520 has already leaked out a couple times – once in the form of a press render and the other a blurry picture. A new round of clear images has arrived online and shows the 6-inch Windows Phone 8 device compared to a Sony Xperia Z.

    Lumia 1520

The images also show that Nokia’s currently unannounced device has virtually no bezel. Its previous handsets have not had massive bezels by any means, but they have been noticeable.

No details of its camera were published. However, reports have speculated that it may contain the same camera as the recently released Lumia 925.

    lumia 1520

Details about the phone broke earlier this year when it was revealed Microsoft was working on an update to WP8 that would support 1080p devices.

According to The Verge, the Lumia 1520 has a similar design to the Lumia 920/925 and the gallery of images also confirms a few specs: 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage and run Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update (General Distribution 3). Apparently the Lumia 1520 will be announced in the coming weeks and we’ll keep you updated on an Indian release.

  • Sony Smartphone-Mount “Lens Cameras” Leak

    Sony Smartphone-Mount “Lens Cameras” Leak

We’ve previously covered the recent rumours of the 20 Megapixel Sony Wifi ‘smart lens’ which will attach to Android and iOS smartphones and connect to the phone via Wifi. Theoretically, you’ll be able to take much better pictures with the bigger CMOS sensor and Zeiss glass.

    Sony

A new rumored gold iPhone now has a rumored gold lens attachment from Sony, according to a report from SonyAlphaRumors which has also posted an image.  Until now we’d only seen leaks of a black device, and while a white version was perhaps to be expected, how about gold? Would be a perfect match for that rumored gold iPhone 5S.

“For the first time you can shoot top quality images with your smartphone. Forget these iPhone or Android lens kits!” said SonyAlphaRumors.com, which posted images of the new devices.

    Sony
But the lenses won’t have screens or camera controls, and can be attached magnetically to the smartphone, from which they can be controlled, it added.

The two new ‘lens-camera’ devices will launch as the DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100, the idea being that they mount onto a smartphone and contain a built-in imaging sensor, Bionz processor, Wi-Fi/NFC, SD card slot and battery.

The QX10 is rumoured to have a 1/2.3 inch 18MP CMOS sensor and f/3.3-5.9 lens. In terms of pricing, the more expensive QX100 is expected to be priced around the $450 mark. The lenses will be able to capture HD video at 1080/30p.

  • Samsung Galaxy Gear Control App Confirms NFC And Other Features

Samsung Galaxy Gear Control App Confirms NFC And Other Features

Samsung has already confirmed that its Galaxy Gear smartwatch would launch on September 4th, but that does not stop more details from leaking out. As the launch date comes near, we all now have a good idea of how the Galaxy Gear would look like, but this recent leak shows the mobile app for Smart Watch and gives us a better picture of how would the device work.

    samsung Galaxy Gear

Evleaks posted screenshots of the Gear Manager, an app that is said to  connect with the Galaxy Gear. The images mostly contain details from the past rumors, like the SM-V700 model number, app support and NFC pairing. There are also a couple of nifty features like the “find my watch” tool, while another tab shows an abstracted representation of the Samsung Galaxy Gear itself.

The unpacked event is less than a week away, so we will soon know what the final product will look like and what features will it bring to the consumers.

  • AMD Temash Powered ASUS VivoBook X102BA Leaks

AMD Temash Powered ASUS VivoBook X102BA Leaks

Asus is one of the few major PC companies that still makes inexpensive laptops with 10 inch screens. Earlier this year the company released the Asus 1015E Windows 8 laptop with a 10 inch display and Intel Celeron dual-core processor. Now it looks like the company may be preparing a new model with an AMD Temash processor.

    VivoBook X102BA

SweClockers published a leaked press shot of the notebook on Friday and reported that the VivoBook X102BA would feature a 1.0GHz, dual-core AMD A4-1200 CPU with Radeon HD 8180 for graphics. The mid-range PC will also sport a 10-inch screen, 2GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. One of the more interesting bits is that Asus will reportedly ship the new VivoBook with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013.

The processor is the “entry level” model of AMD’s Temash family, the A4-1200, an APU which combines two general purpose computing cores running at 1GHz with a Radeon HD 8180 which has 128 stream processors running at 225MHz. This chip has a TDP of 3.9 watts.

As far as connectivity goes, the VivoBook X102BA has the standard 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Ports, meanwhile, include one Ethernet, dual USB 2.0 slots and a single USB 3.0 slot, as well as VGA and HDMI for video output, an SD card reader, and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. The battery comes in two configurations based on which model is purchased – 22wH and 33wH, reportedly giving 5 hours of use.

The VivoBook X102BA is rumoured to be priced around the $450 price point.

  • Moto X To Support Nano SIM Card

Moto X To Support Nano SIM Card

When it comes to Motorola’s upcoming Moto X smartphone, it might not be a flagship device, but this does not mean that there is not much buzz surrounding the smartphone. After all, we do know that it will be proudly “made in the USA”, and we have also seen its “final” press shots posted online already, in addition to rumors of a so-called Magic Glass bandied about, not to mention alleged images of the said Magic Glass spotted, too. Well, this time around, the Moto X comes under the spotlight once again, with an alleged Nano-SIM belonging to the Moto X leaked out in Hong Kong.

    Moto X

GSM Insider picked up a photo from a Hong Kong phone blog, which shows a nano-SIM card and tray placed next to an empty slot on the side of the phone.

If this proves to be true, that will make the Moto X one of the first phones to adopt the nano-SIM since the iPhone 5. Of course, whether the Moto X will actually come with the nano-SIM remains to be seen — neither Google nor Motorola has indicated what the device will offer. We’ll find out Thursday, though, when Google holds a press event showcasing the Moto X.

  • Blackberry A10 video leaks, 5 inch AMOLED and 2800 mAh battery

Blackberry A10 video leaks, 5 inch AMOLED and 2800 mAh battery

The Blackberry A10 is the next device in the company’s lineup of Blackberry 10 devices, and its not much of a secret. In the latest leak from Tinhte.vn, the smartphone is shown off in a hands-on video, which confirms that the A10 will have a large 2,800mAh battery and 5-inch HD AMOLED display not an LCD.

The Blackberry A10 is the next phone to be launched after the Q5 which has seen roaring demands unlike predictions from experts. The A10 is said to be the company’s next flagship with a  1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, a 2,800 mAh battery, NFC, a microSD slot and BlackBerry 10.2.

Over the past several days the Blackberry A10 has appeared in both picture and video format and seems to be a larger 5-inch smartphone with design similarities to the Z10.

  • 5″ Blackberry A10 Makes An Appearance In Leaked Video

5″ Blackberry A10 Makes An Appearance In Leaked Video

BlackBerry is on tap to launch a new smartphone in the coming months. The Blackberry A10 will is rumoured to be the 4th BlackBerry 10 powered device and a picture of the so-called powerhouse leaked online earlier this week. Today, a video of the Blackberry A10 in use appeared online.

This is actually the first time this alleged device has been caught on video. It is too soon to say right now whether it is merely a working prototype or if the device we seen in this video is actually what the A10 is going to be.

Specs are different than what original rumours pointed towards, but the report indicated that the Blackberry A10 will come with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display (resolution of 1280 x 720) and a dual-core processor, quad-core GPU to enhance the gaming experience, 720p video recording and an 8-megapixel camera.

The 29-second video, which presumably has been obtained through manufacturing sources in the country, suggests the device will take its design cues from its predecessor, the BlackBerry Z10.

Beyond the larger screen, the only apparent design change is the presence of dual coloured body. The Z10 shipped in black and white, while this one boasts both colours, as evidenced by pics leaked last week.

  • Leaked : Rumoured Moto X Back Panels In Different Colours

Leaked : Rumoured Moto X Back Panels In Different Colours

We now understand what Motorola says when it claims the upcoming Moto X is “designed by you.” The company will fulfill orders within two days from its Texas-based plant, allowing buyers to customize the backplate colour and, presumably, add lettering or even pictures to the polycarbonate body. In total there will reportedly be about 16 different flavours to select, such as blue, purple, green and red.

    moto x

A leaked photo of what appears to be three backplates in garish neon colours reaffirms the reports we heard this week and earlier today, and lends credence to the idea that Moto X will indeed be a mid-range device with broad appeal, not a barnstormer flagship with enormous gigahertz counts.

It’s unclear what other colors will be offered, but we’d guess Motorola’s new Google-fied logo is a good indication on what to expect. If that’s the case, we might be saying goodbye to the typical black and white.

The Moto X is firmly tipped as a mid-range device. Considering the constantly growing buzz surrounding the smartphone, we reckon its launch isn’t too far away.

Rumoured specs are that we’ll see the new Android run OS 4.2.2 and come with a 4.7-inch full HD screen, NVIDIA Tegra 4i processor, 16MP camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and some sort of “smart” technology.

  • Unannounced Motorola Droid Ultra Shows Up On Its Website

Unannounced Motorola Droid Ultra Shows Up On Its Website

We know something is happening at Motorola, Google’s beleaguered handset manufacturer it purchased in 2011 for $12.5 billion. First, we got confirmation of the rumoured X Phone, Motorola’s foray into next-generation smartphone. Next we saw the redesigned, simplified and be-Googled  Motorola logo.

And now we’re seeing hints of a device called the Motorola Droid Ultra, leaked briefly on Motorola’s own website. The page provides almost everything you could want to know about the phone, except what it looks like, as the main image is sadly missing. The device is expected to be fairly mid-range, with a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch qHD display, 8GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera and  2000mAh battery.

    motorola droid ultra

The landing page paints the Motorola Droid Ultra as “available in a bunch of glossy colours,” with a “high-grade DuPont Kevlar body” that’s “even thinner and…tough as steel.” At 122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm, the Droid Ultra should be a very compact device, seemingly a follow-up to the RAZR M that was released last year.

Unfortunately, there is little to differentiate the Motorola Droid Ultra from the rest of the market at this point, so unless Motorola pulls something drastic from its hat, this will be just another mid-range Android.

No release date is mentioned, but an official announcement can’t be far away, seeing as the webpage is almost completely ready to go.
