Nokia 8 Pro Specifications Leaked

HMD Global launched the Nokia 8 Sirocco at MWC 2018. The smartphone has a premium design, dual Zeiss branded cameras and a stainless steel mid-frame. In fact, the smartphone has everything to be called as a 2018 flagship smartphone. However, the smartphone was based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is a bit of a disappointment.

A leak suggests that the company might launch the Nokia 8 Pro with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.

Expected specifications of Nokia 8 Pro

The device is expected to have a 6 inch 2160 x 1080px display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage.

Nokia 8 Pro

The phone is expected to have a dual 16 MP camera setup, similar to the one found on the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Similarly, the device is likely to have a 13 MP front-facing camera.

The smartphone is expected to have a 4000 mAh Li-ion battery with wireless charging capability with a USB type C port, which doubles as the headphone jack. In fact, the smartphone has a bigger battery than the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

The Nokia 8 Pro will run on Android 8 Oreo OS. However, unlike the Nokia 8 Sirocco, we are unsure about the support for Android One Programme.

Conclusion

The Nokia 8 Sirocco has a QHD+ display while the Nokia 8 Pro has an FHD+ display. In fact, we might see a display similar to the one found on the Nokia 7 Plus.

The Nokia 8 Pro is expected to launch in Q3 of 2018. In fact, at least on paper, the Nokia 8 Pro has better hardware, with a bigger battery and a newer chipset. As of now, there is no official statement from HMD Global regarding the Nokia 8 Pro or a possible launch.

Huawei is all set to launch the Huawei P20 Pro, P20, and the P20 Lite on 27th of March. The Huawei P20 lineup will be the successor to the Huawei P10 lineup, which was launched in 2017. Huawei has been focusing on camera on its Honor P series of smartphones. In fact, the company works closely with Leica to improve the smartphone photography.

As per the reports, the Huawei P20 Pro is expected to have a triple camera setup with Leica branding. In fact, a Huawei smartphone render has leaked with a triple camera setup.

Similarly, the phone does have an iPhone X like notch, which is expected house the front-facing camera. In fact, this might be the first Android smartphone to offer iPhone X’s Face ID-like facial recognition hardware.

The smartphone is also expected to offer a wide range of AI capabilities, which is expected to improve the smartphone photography.

The smartphone is likely to house a triple lens primary camera setup with RGB + wide angle + telephoto lens combination. On to the front, the smartphone is likely to have dual camera setup. In fact, the dual front-facing camera can aid the facial recognition system as well.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro along with the Redmi Note 5 on the 14th of February. Up until now, the company has had two flash sales. However, only the 4GB RAM and two colour variants of the Redmi Note 5 Pro were available to buy via the flash sales.

According to a report, all four colours of the Redmi Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro will be available for the next flash-sale. Similarly, the sale will also include the 6GB RAM variant of the Note 5 Pro. However, only the Black colour will be available in the 6GB RAM variant. The price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro starts at Rs 13,999 and goes up to Rs 16,999 for the 6GB RAM model.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 Inch Officially Launched In China

Xiaomi launched yet another smart TV in China. This time the company has launched the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 inch with FHD 1920 x 1080px resolution LCD display. The features and specifications are similar to the 43 inch model. Additionally, the TV also supports voice control.

The voice control is the one feature that differentiates the Mi TV 4A 40 inch from the other Mi TVs. The TV can be controlled using the remote, which has a built-in microphone. It accepts commands like “shut down after five minutes” or “fast-forward the movie by 9 minutes 9 seconds” etc.

Pricing and availability

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 inch is priced at CNY 1699 (Rs 17,500). Interestingly, the TV will be available in China from next week in a typical Xiaomi “flash sale” mode.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4C 40 inch has a Full HD 1920 x 1080px LCD display. Under the hood, the TV is powered by Amlogic Quad-core chipset with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. In fact, this is the same chipset that is used in the Xiaomi Mi TV 4, which launched in India for Rs 39,999.

The smart TV has a selective set of ports, including a dual HDMI port, AV ports, analogue signal DTMB, and an ethernet port. Similarly, the TV also supports Bluetooth 4.2 LE and dual-channel Wifi.

The TV is based on Android TV OS with the custom PatchWall User interface. The PatchWall is a unique user interface, which displays curated shows based on the user’s interest. Similarly, the company has partnered with the online streaming service providers to offer free content.

Conclusion

This is a bang for your buck smart TV with a price tag of Rs 17,500. However, there is no confirmation if the voice command feature will trickle down to Xiaomi’s other markets like India. In fact, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi TV 4C or the Mi TV 4A in India with a similar set of specifications on 7th of March. But, whether the voice command feature will make its way to the TV is yet to be seen.

Apple To Launch A Cheaper MacBook Air In 2018

The MacBook Air was originally launched in early 2008, which was highly appreciated for the design and a longer-lasting battery. In fact, the 2017 MacBook Air still resembles the original model, which was designed to fit inside an office-folder.

A report suggests that Apple might launch a more affordable MacBook Air in Q2 of 2018. The company will be able to improve MacBook shipments by 10 to 15%. In fact, Apple is expected to launch the newer model at the WWDC 2018.

The entry-level MacBook Air is priced at $999, which is the choice of notebook for the most of the college-going students. However, there were no major improvements in the last few iteration, as Apple is focusing on the 12-inch MacBook and the MacBook Pro. Xiaomi Mi TV 4C 43 Inch Pricing Leaked

Xiaomi India launched the Xiaomi MI TV 4 in India for a price tag of Rs 39,999. The smart TV had a great set of features, including 4K display, support for HDR and a smart TV functionality. Similarly, the company might launch the Mi TV 4C in India, for a price tag of Rs 27,999. Flipkart has started teasing a new Xiaomi product with a hast tag #SwitchToSmart. Similar to the Mi TV 4, the Mi TV 4C is expected to go on flash sale via Flipkart.

The company is expected to launch Mi TV 4 variations on 7th March. In fact, the company might launch two variants of Mi TV 4 with a 43 inch and a 32inch display. As per the new listing on the Xiaomi India website, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4C with a 43 inch display will be priced at Rs 27,999. Though the pricing is very competitive, the value for money proposition will be questioned, especially when compared to the Mi TV 4.

A previous leak claimed that the Mi TV 4C 43 inch will be priced at Rs 21,999 and the 32 inch will retail for Rs 12,999.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4C will have a 43 inch 1920 x 1080px IPS LCD display with HDR 10 capability. Under the hood, the TV is powered by Amlogic Quad-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Similarly, we might see a model with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage, which will be priced at Rs 21,999.

However, do note that the Mi TV 4 came with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage and the Mi TV 4C listing says 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The smart TV will also support dual-band Wifi b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth 4.2. In terms of audio capability, the TV will support Dolby audio with DTS HD surround sound.

Android P To Support Strict Call Blocking
Android P will be the next iteration of its Android OS from Google. Android P will add additional native features like support for the notch, Dark mode, and strict privacy controls. According to a new report, Android P might support native strict call blocking capability. In fact, these set of commands were noticed on an AOSP package.

This feature will let a user block any call from an unknown number. By enabling this feature, one will not receive a phone call from that number. In fact, this will eliminate those telemarketing calls altogether. Similarly, this will also work in the following situations as well.
- If the number is not in the contact list
- The number not disclosed by the caller (private)
- If the number is from a Payphone
- If the number does not have a caller information (unidentified)

There is a catch in this process, the strict call blocking can be enabled or disabled by the service provider. Similarly, your service provider might incur additional charges to enable this feature.

LG launched the LG X4 mid-tier Android smartphone in South Korea. The LG X4 is an affordable version of the LG X4+, with similar specifications. The unique selling point of the smartphone is the Digital multimedia broadcasting support. However, unlike LG X4+, this doesn’t have a rugged design.

The LG X4 is already available in South Korea in Black and Gold colour variants. The smartphone is priced at 297,000 won or Rs 17,780.

The LG X4 has a 5.3 inch 1280 x 720px 16:9 aspect ratio display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. Similarly, the storage is expandable using micro SD card slot.

The smartphone has an 8 MP primary camera with an LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing camera.Similarly, the video recording on the front-facing camera is limited to 720, and the primary camera can record up to 1080p@30fps. In fact, the fingerprint scanner can be used as the camera shutter button.

The device does support wireless HD DMB TV (Digital multimedia broadcasting), which allows to stream free TV channels on the smartphone. In fact, it doesn’t use any kind of internet connection. Interestingly, this smartphone also supports LG Pay, which can be used to make cardless/cashless payments using the built-in NFC chip.

Conclusion

The LG X4 has a right choice of specifications for an entry-level or a mid-tier Android smartphone. The pricing, however, seems a bit off for the price tag of the smartphone. However, this phone also offers DMB TV which is missing in most of the modern smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Mi 6 Will Soon Get Face Unlock Feature

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is the first Xiaomi smartphone to support Face Unlock. Similarly, the company is testing this feature for the Mi MIX 2 and the Mi 6 on the beta version. In fact, users can install the Global beta ROM to test this feature. However, as the ROM is in beta stage, it might not be suitable for a primary device.

So, if you own a Mi MIX 2 or the Mi 6, the device will receive an OTA update in next few days. However, the company warns about using the feature, as it can be fooled using a photo or a video.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has a 5.99 inch 2160 x 1080 px LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery which is considerably smaller than the previous generation Mix’s 4,400 mAh battery. The Mi Mix 2 runs Android 7.1.1 with Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 9 on top.

Under the hood, the flagship smartphone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB RAM and storage options of 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. A special edition Mi Mix 2 with a full ceramic body, 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage has also been announced.

The smartphone sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.25-micron pixels, an f/2.0 aperture 4-axis optical image stabilisation, 5-piece lens, and facial recognition. On the front is a 5MP which features facial recognition as well.

Mi Mix 2

The Mi 6 has a 5.15 inch 1920 x 1080 px LCD display. Under the hood, the device has Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. The fingerprint sensor is housed in the home button just below the display. Powering the device is a 3350 mAh battery and the phone runs Android 7.1 Nougat with MUI skin on top.

The Mi 6 has a dual camera set up of two 12MP cameras at the back. On its front, it has an 8MP camera which records 1080P videos.

Moto E5, E5 Plus, E5 Play Specifications Leaked

Three new Motorola smartphones have surfaced online. This time around, it is the Moto E5 series. The Moto E5 series follows the recent smartphone trend with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. However, we are still unclear about the display aspect ratio on the Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5, as the report does not mention anything on the aspect ratio.

Earlier reports have shown that the Moto E5 and the Moto G6 series will feature a glass back, glass front and an aluminium mid-frame like the Moto X4. The company is expected to launch the Moto E5, Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5 Plus in April along with the Moto G6 series.

Moto E5 Plus

The Moto E5 Plus will have a 5.8 inch 18:9 1440 x 720px IPS LCD screen. The smartphone will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 or the MediaTek MT675X chipset. The processor will be coupled with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage.

The phone will have a dual camera setup with a 16 MP f/1.75 aperture primary camera and an 8 MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture. Similarly, the smartphone will also support NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi. Finally, the device will have a massive 5000 mAh sealed-battery.

Moto E5

The Moto E5 is has a 5.5 inch 1280 x 720px IPS LCD screen. The phone will have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. However, there is no information on the chipset used in this iteration.

Similar to the Moto E5 Plus, the Moto E5 has a dual camera setup with a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera. The device will have a 3028 mAh battery.

Moto E5 Play

The Moto E5 has a 5.2 inch 1280 x 720px IPS LCD display with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Play variant also has a dual camera setup with a 12 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera. Unlike the Moto E5 Plus, there is no information on the chipset, that powers the smartphone. Finally, the smartphone has a 4000 mAh battery.

Three Huawei Smartphones Listed on TENAA

Three new Huawei smartphones have been listed on TENAA, with similar specifications. All the phones look similar to the recently leaked Honor 7C. The devices are listed with a different model number.

The smartphones are listed under the model number AUM-TL00, AUM-TL10, and AUM-TL20. Similarly, the specifications do match with the Honor 7C or the Huawei Enjoy 8. The smartphones feature a metal unibody design, with a plastic antenna band. However, all three models have a similar China mobile logo at the back, which means, the devices are expected to launch only in China.

Specifications

These smartphones have a 5.7 inch 1440 x 720px IPS LCD display. Under the hood, the mobiles are powered by an unknown Quad-core chipset. The AUM-TL00 has 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Similarly, the AUM-TL10 and the AUM-TL20 has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The storage is expandable on all three models using SD card slot.

Considering the recent Huawei/Honor smartphones, these devices might feature an entry-level HiSilicon Kirin chipset. However, the company has also used MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets on some of the entry-level models. So, they might feature a chipset from either Kirin or MediaTek or Qualcomm.

The AUM-TL10 and the TL20 has a dual 13 MP + 2 MP primary camera setup, whereas the AUM-TL00 has a single 13 MP primary camera. Similarly, the AUM-TL00 and the AUM-TL20 has an 8 MP front-facing camera and the AUM-TL10 has a 5 MP front-facing camera. The only model that, has a fingerprint scanner is the AUM-TL20.

All three models offer Android 8 Oreo with custom EMUI skin on the top. The devices measure 152.4 x 73 x 7.8mm and weigh at 150 grams. In fact, they have a similar 2900 mAh battery.

Conclusion

From the above-mentioned specifications, these devices might be launched under a single moniker. The AUM-TL20 could be to be the most powerful version amongst the three.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A To Launch On March 7th

Xiaomi India launched the Mi TV 4 in India on the 14th of February at a price of Rs. 39999. Similarly, the company is all set to launch more affordable smart TVs in India on 7th March. Xiaomi India has created an event page on Mi.com for the 7th of March. Manu Jain has also started teasing a new product launch on Twitter using the hashtag #SwitchToSmart. According to the page, the event will be live streamed at 3 PM IST.

As per our previous report, the company is expected to launch the Mi TV 4A 32 inch and 43 inch in India. These smart TVs are expected to retail at Rs 12,999 and Rs 21,999, respectively. In fact, these TVs were officially listed on Mi.com for a while.

Features of Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 inch

This will be the most affordable smart TV from the company, which is expected to retail for Rs 12,999. As mentioned above, the TV will have a 32 inch display with 1366 × 768px resolution. Under the hood, the TV will be powered by Amlogic Quad-core chipset with 1GB RAM and 4GB storage.

The TV will be powered by the custom PatchWall OS based on Android. The TV will support all the standard connectivity ports like Dual HDMI port, USB type-A port, and a normal 3 Pin connector. As this is a smart TV, it will also support WiFi wireless network. However, the 32 inch model does not support Bluetooth.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A is expected to retail for Rs 21,999. The television comes with 1920 x 1080px LCD panel. Under the hood, the TV will be powered by the same Amlogic Quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. Similarly, the 43 inch model will offer premium features like HDR 10 capability and support for Bluetooth.

The 43 inch model will have a similar selection of ports as of the 32 inch variant with an additional USB port. This TV will also run on the Xiaomi’s custom PatchWall OS with content from Hungama and Voot. Similarly, the company will include more streaming services in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 Image Leaked

Samsung unpacked the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ at MWC 2018. Similarly, a new rugged Samsung has surfaced online. According to reports, this could be the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5. Samsung is one of the major smartphone makers to launch rugged smartphones.

The Galaxy Xcover 5 will be the successor of the Galaxy Xcover 4, which was launched in March 2017. Unlike the Galaxy S8 Active, the Xcover 4 had mediocre specifications. Similarly, the Xcover 5 is expected to continue the trend. However, for the most part, these devices will be limited to the western/European market. In fact, the Galaxy Xcover 4 was released in Germany only.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Lake Blue And Rose Gold Variants Listed On Flipkart

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro in India on the 14th February. The company has already had two flash sales on Flipkart and Mi.com. At the time of launch, the company announced four colour variants Gold, Black, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold. However, in both the sales the devices were only available in the Black and Gold Variant.

These devices will go on sale for the third time on the 7th of March. Similarly, Flipkart has now listed all the four colour variations of the Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro. The company might sell all the four variants of the smartphones from the next sale. However, the 6GB version is not yet listed on Flipkart, which will be available at a later date.

Do note that the Redmi Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro are also expected to be available offline from 6th March. However, there is no official word from Xiaomi regarding this latest development.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080p IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Octa-core chipset with either 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. In fact, this is the first smartphone in the world to feature this chipset.
