Latest Leak About iPhone 6s Camera: A 400% Boost According to Reports

A report by Forbes announced a 400% boost in the front camera of the latest iPhones to be released on 9th September. According to MacRumors, the selfie camera would be upgraded to 5 MP, pleasing selfie and FaceTime aficionados all over. This is indeed a big leap from the current 1.2 MP of the iPhone 6. A better quality front camera inevitably makes it one of the most anticipated features of the new iPhones.

In addition to this, a post by 9to5Mac mentions a rear camera case which is not made of Sapphire. If reports are to be believed this is perhaps because of failure during drop tests.

“Aside from upgrading rear camera module to 12MP, Apple will upgrade front camera module to 5MP […] The new iPhone may not be equipped with sapphire cover lens, as it still has quality issues on the drop test.” Ming-Chi Kuo – source, 9to5Mac.

  • Final Rumour Roundup : What to Expect From Apple’s iPhone 6s

Final Rumour Roundup : What to Expect From Apple’s iPhone 6s

What we already know about the new iPhones is that they are going to be launched on the ninth of this month, the event will take place at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco and that it will be one of the biggest so far in the history of the company.  While Apple poses itself to charm potential customers, let’s do a quick recap of what we think these gizmos are going to be all about.

The launch is expected to include two new iPhones; 6s and 6s Plus, to be made ready for shipping, later this month. The phones will be first shipped to Apple’s ‘first-tier’ countries – Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S, and mainland China.

    Price

The iPhone 6s is presently said to arrive at 699 euros which is Rs.52,084 approximately, for the 16GB version. The 64GB version is said to be 799 euros which is Rs.59,529 approximately, while the 128GB version might be 899 euros which is Rs.66,980 approximately.

These figures are taken from a Dutch blog called Tech Tastic which also mentions that the 6s Plus will cost 100 euros more for the same amount of storage space.

    iPhone 6 Plus 2

    Storage

Reports about the new iPhones clear doubts about a speculated increase in storage space, with Apple having already stated that people don’t really need more space since they’re using the cloud to store their documents and pictures anyway.

The added feature of being able to take 4k videos on the device is also likely to cause trouble with storage, especially for the buyers of the 16 GB variant. They would then be forced to upgrade the iCloud storage and dump their files on that, or look for alternatives.

    Processor

The device is rumoured to have a Force Touch display, an A9 processor, and 2 GB of RAM. A9 is also expected to have two cores running at 1.80GHz. A new NFC chip from NXP and labelled 66VP2 is also expected to be inside the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

    Battery

cnBeta marks the new battery capacities of the iPhone 6s at 1715 mAh and iPhone 6S Plus at 2750 mAh. These can be compared to the iPhone 6 at 1810 mAh and iPhone 6 Plus at 2910 mAh.

Since iPhone-users are already struggling with battery life, this doesn’t come as a welcomed change. Despite many power enhancement updates in iOS 9, a bigger battery is always more appreciated. Also considering that the newer ‘S’ version iPhones usually have a bump in hardware, power consumption might get affected.

    Display:

    iPhone 6 Plus 19

In terms of display, the gadgets are expected to have a 1125 x 2000 resolution along with a pixel density of 488ppi. According to rumours, the company may offer a new colour variant -rose pink, in addition to the gold, silver and space grey variant.

One of the most anticipated features of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is the Force Touch Display. This has been seen earlier in Apple Watch and the new Macbook, as well as in Huawei’s Mate S which has a similar Force Touch technology, While the trackpads and Apple Watch work on two levels, namely of press and tap, this updated version of Force Touch will feature a deeper press in addition to these. Thus, the feature has been rightly termed ‘3-D Touch’. The sensors would be taking into account three different types of touch rather than two. What has got buyers excited is the potential of new shortcut actions and commands likely to be part of the iPhone 6s version of iOS 9.

    Physical Features

The new iPhones are expected to be heavier than the predecessors, by a few grams. But according to several sources, Apple is looking to reduce the thickness of its already delicate smartphones. Post the “bendgate” issue last year, this is perhaps not the smartest choice to make. However, good news around the new iPhones’ construction is the use of 7000 series Aluminium, which is stronger and more resilient. You can also expect Apple to reinforce the iPhones with a stronger inner structure.

A partially put together iPhone 6s tells us it’s likely to have a thickness of 7.08 mm, compared to its 6.9 mm thick predecessor. It’s height is likely to measure around 138.19 mm tall compared to 138.1 mm for the iPhone 6, and the width may be a 67.68 mm compared to the 67.16 mm wide iPhone 6.

The iPhones are going to keep the design from last year, which may disappoint many buyers. With the S6 Edge as the benchmark of design, those looking for a new iPhone will need to push their purchases to next year and wait for the iPhone 7.

    Camera

With the iPhone stuck in the 8MP cycle for many a years, the company is expected to bump up the camera to 12 MP. This will allow the phone to capture 4K video, however this will not make the camera near as high resolution as the 16 MP sensors from Samsung. We can also not expect the Aperture to be around f1.9, the new iPhones are expected to keep f2.0 – f2.2.

If a report by Forbes is to be believed, all is not downhill for the new cameras. The front camera will be of 5 MP. ensuring better FaceTime and selfie opportunities to users. This improvement is sure to put iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in the same league as its major competitor Samsung Galaxy S6.

With September 9th being just 5 days away, the countdown for the biggest Apple launch has begun. Stay tuned for more information.

Apple Brings 4K to the 21.5 inch iMac this October

This October would bring in Apple’s new 4K screen to its 21.5 inch iMac. It will come equipped with a resolution of 4096 x 2304, an improvement from its previous1920 x 1080, by the end of next month. This launch will take place alongside OS X El Capitan making the product ready for shipping by November.

New features will include faster processors and improved colour saturation. Sadly enough, the higher resolution will, in all probability, increase the price of the new iMac, reminiscent of the 5K display which raised the price of the 27-inch iMac last year. However, the current model of the 27-inch iMac might still be available for sale post the launch.

The event will mark not only the launch of a pair of new iPhones but also of an upgraded Apple TV set top box, and new bands for the Apple Watch. The launch of these gadgets will be followed by the much awaited iPad Pro, and a revamped version of the iPad mini for retail in the subsequent months, if rumours are to be believed.

    apple iphone 6s event

Meanwhile, Apple is expected to showcase the two new iPads at the event next week. The iPad mini 4 will be a thinner version of the current iPad mini, including a faster A-series chip with support for split-screen apps first introduced in iOS 9. A pair of upgraded cameras is another likely addition. Codenamed J98/J99, iPad Pro will be the larger-sized tablet and will have iOS 9.1, support a Force Touch-based stylus, and include speakers on two sides for better sound quality. The new iOS 9.1 operating system is  expected to provide the iPad Pro with new features that include optimised versions of the Siri and Notification Center interfaces.

The event is expected to surpass last year’s launch of the iPhone 6, Apple Watch and Apple Pay keynote at the Flint Centre in Cupertino, with an “unprecedented” range of product introductions. All eyes are now set on Apple to deliver a range of products as impressive as tech freaks across the globe expect them to be.

New reports have emerged about the upcoming Apple TV fourth-gen, that have revealed its pricing, availability, and product lineup plans. apple-smart-tv

This new box will be more expensive than its competitors, however, Apple has decided to keep its $69 third-gen device on sale as an entry level model within the Apple TV product line. The Apple TV 4 is expected to be ‘thicker and slightly wider’ than its predecessor.

Some features that might be included in the new Apple TV would be – Siri support, a new remote control, an App Store with a Software Development Kit for developers, and a refreshed user interface. Other reports also imply, that Apple might plan to release a cable-replacing streaming TV service that bundles multiple television channels for a price as low as $40 per month, however the Apple TV would still require logins to cable networks to unlock the content.

The updated Apple TV will feature SIRI and an App Store.

This software that is supposed to enable Apple’s cable-replacement service is currently planned to also become available for the third-generation Apple TV. However, it has also been reported that the current model will not receive support for the upcoming App Store, nor will it be directly controllable by Siri.

  • iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus May Disappoint

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus May Disappoint

Apple’s latest edition of their smartphone is all set to be launched on Sept 9th. However, with leaks and information of the devices all over the internet, it seems that the new iPhones will disappoint many.

New leaks from the Netherlands have confirmed that the price of the iPhone will remain at €699 for the 16 GB, with the 64GB and 128GB versions priced at €799 and €899 respectively. Which not only means that Apple will continue selling the low capacity 16 GB version, but it will also be at the same price as the iPhone 6.

It also has become known, thanks to cnBeta, that the new iPhones will have reduced battery capacities with the iPhone 6S at 1715 mAh and iPhone 6S Plus at 2750 mAh vs the iPhone 6 at 1810 mAh and iPhone 6 Plus at 2910 mAh.

    iPhone 6 Plus 2

This is potentially the worst of the news, as iPhones are already heavily struggling with battery life. Despite many power enhancement updates in iOS 9, a bigger battery is always more appreciated. Also considering that the newer “s” version iPhones usually have a bump in hardware, power consumption might get affected.

The new iPhones are also expected to be heavier that the predecessors, by a few grams. But according to several sources, Apple is looking to reduce the thickness of its already delicate smartphones.

Apple suffered heavy bad media last year thanks to the “bendgate” issues. A thinner iPhone may not be the company’s best bet. However, good news around the new iPhones’ construction is the use of 7000 series Aluminium, which is stronger and more resilient. You can also expect Apple to reinforce the  iPhones with a stronger inner structure.

One of the main reasons of the success of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones has been their cameras.

4k video also takes up more storage, which means that buyers of the 16 GB variant will be suffering major with storage issues. They would then be forced to upgrade the iCloud storage and dump their files on that, or look for alternatives.

The new iPhones are going to keep the design from last year, which also may disappoint many buyers. With the S6 Edge the new benchmark of design, those looking for a new iPhone will need to push their purchases to next year and wait for the iPhone 7.

Apple Watch to Arrive in India Next Month, Priced Starting Rs. 24,999

Apple’s very first wearable was unveiled last year along with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Today, a year later, there is no sign of it in India. However we have some good news for those waiting to get their hands on the device – it arrives in the country next month.

The wearable went on sale in March, worldwide, after the Apple Spring Forward event. Although the Cupertino-based tech giant claims India to be an important market, it did not launch the Watch here at the time. The Apple Watch comes in three variants – Sport, Regular and Gold Edition. Apple Watch Edition (pure solid gold edition), available in a block of 18 carat yellow, or rose gold went on sale starting at a whopping price of US$ 10,000 for the 38mm version, however, this watch will not be released in India just yet. And if we are to believe sources, then the Apple Watch Sport will be priced starting Rs. 24,999.

    Apple watch Features Design 15

The Apple Watch is created in order to make interaction simpler and intimate. One doesn’t have to constantly be on their phones in order to check the time, reply to emails, take calls, respond to text messages etc, instead all these activities can be completed by a few glances and voice notes.  It also has some unique gesture supports that will make it easy to use and to interact with others. Here is the catch, you have to have an iPhone (or any product by Apple) too so that all the information from your device can get synced to this new iWatch.

  • New Leaked Video of the Apple iPhone 6s Tells All

New Leaked Video of the Apple iPhone 6s Tells All

This is perhaps the most exciting leak for today – the much anticipated iPhone 6S has now been leaked. There is a video and some images showing us all we need to know, about the upcoming iPhone’s exciting features, such as, the Force Touch and the A9 chipset.

The images are said to reveal an iPhone 6s logic board with components such as the rear shell and battery, both of which enable the device to display a screen showing a gear icon. The video shows us the boot up process, logic board, LTE baseband modem and its radio frequency transceiver chip.

The first feature that we are most excited about, is perhaps the Force Touch, but the device that has been leaked does not prove the existence of the feature yet. However, there are some differences that have been noticed in this device, as compared to the iPhone 6, such as the shielding on the rear of the display being glued in place rather than screwed in.

Secondly, the pictures apparently also suggest that the iPhone 6s logic board will include Qualcomm’s WTR3925 radio frequency transceiver chip, in order to pair with the new modem for better cellular network.

Last but not the least, the pictures received by the source unfortunately do not show the presence of an A9 chip. The logic board seems to be a pre-production product unit and hence is said to be missing the A9 stamp and markings that could have revealed how much RAM is included in the package.

All this information however, has not been confirmed by Apple itself. So we will just have to wait until September 9th to see the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The event is also rumoured to feature announcements including a revamped Apple TV with support for Siri control and third-party apps.

  • Microsoft’s New project To make 3D Scanning Possible On the iPhone Soon

Microsoft’s New project To make 3D Scanning Possible On the iPhone Soon

Microsoft is now creating a camera for smartphones, that can also be a 3D scanner. The name of this project is – MobileFusion and the first research has been conducted on an iPhone 5S to scan objects by moving the phone around them. Kind of like the new pen scanner we just reported about.

The phone is said to be able to capture and track objects and then build up a model as the camera captures it from different angles. Microsoft has stated that no additional hardware would be required to turn the iPhone or any other smartphone into a 3D scanner. All the computation is done within the phone itself.

    MobileFusion

Microsoft’s project is quoted as being different from other projects such as, Google’s Tango project, which uses additional hardware. It has also been said, that Microsoft’s single camera should be enough to make models for printing or use in augmented reality gaming.

As of now, they are trying to get it running on the iOS, Android and Windows Phone. However, the date of release or any news of mass production is unavailable. Stay tuned and watch the video below:

The hydrogen battery is said to have the ability to keep the iPhone 6 going up to an entire week without having to charge it.

The only inconvenience that has been spotted, is the fact that there will be some water vapour emitted through vents at the back. Intelligent Energy has not yet confirmed the pricing of the device but as of now, the prototype iPhone 6 with the weeklong fuel cell battery is recharged via an adapted audio jack socket.

Apple Begins Replacing iPhone 6 Plus’ With Faulty Cameras

Apple Inc. has announced the launch of its iSight Camera replacement program for the iPhone 6 Plus. This program is said to help replace the camera module in some of the iPhone 6 Plus devices that have allegedly come with a faulty rear camera.

    iPhone 6 Plus 21

According to some statistical reports, some of the iPhone 6 Plus models that were sold between September 2014 to January 2015 might have had a component that made photos to look blurry. This particular component also prevents the camera from focusing and could be related to the Optical Image Stabilization, since this device also comes with a much larger screen.

Therefore, all the iPhone 6 Plus models that are facing this problem and have an eligible serial number will get their cameras replaced by Apple, free of cost. This service can be obtained through Apple’s online support team, an Apple retail store, or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

The company has recommended users to back up their data to iTunes or iCloud in order to get ready for the replacement process, and iPhones that have other damages need to be fixed first, before replacement of the new camera.

Specifically, this new iSight Camera Replacement Program will cover iPhone 6 Plus iSight cameras for three years after the first retail sale of the unit.
